Go To

"Chuck's doing a great job handling Grimes. The blind leading the blind out there."
Casey

As Carmichael Industries takes on a missing persons case, Chuck must acclimatize himself to being Morgan's handler and deal with a rival agency. The Buy More gets a new spokesperson.

This episode provides examples of:

  • Acquired Situational Narcissism: Morgan seems to think that being the Intersect makes him invulnerable, leading to Leeroy Jenkins situations where he runs into danger, dragging Chuck with him and losing his temper whenever someone suggests he use some caution.
  • Always Someone Better: Verbanski, for Carmichael Industries. Highlighted as Chuck finishes their company presentation, only for Verbanski's staff to abseil from the ceiling and "hold up" the audience.
Verbanski: Verbanski Industries. If we can get to you, we can get to anyone.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: When Chuck and Sarah discuss how Morgan's handling the Intersect, it sounds like they're talking about puberty.
Chuck: Look, the first few months with the Intersect are a big adjustment. It's scary. It's exciting. Your hormones are totally out of whack. You're really rediscovering your body... It's a lot to take in - that's all I'm saying.
  • Fingore: Schneider presents his brother's cut-off finger as proof he's been kidnapped. In fact, he cut it off himself and plans to kill his brother.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • When Sarah challenges Casey for looking up Verbanski Industries, because she found it on the computer, he doesn't seem to know what she's talking about. In fact, Morgan is the one thinking of jumping ship.
    • During a fight, Chuck compares Morgan to Indiana Jones, and Morgan doesn't seem to follow. Later, Morgan bails on movie trilogy night, calling it "more your thing than mine." These, along with his personality changes, indicates that the Intersect is damaging his brain.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Carmichael Industries are hired to find Schneider's kidnapped brother. In fact, the brother is testifying against him and Schneider wants to kill him.
  • Shout-Out:
    • During the fight at Schneider's office, Morgan shoots a Mook with a tranq dart after he does an elaborate show with swords, similar to Raiders of the Lost Ark.
    • Verbanski compares Morgan to Luke Skywalker.
  • Too Much Information: Sarah does not need to hear about Casey's history with Verbanski.
Casey: You ever had sex with someone who just tried to kill you?
    Sarah: Oh God.
    Casey: It was incredible.
Sarah: Okay, I think we should concentrate on the mission.
  • Wham Line: If anyone's still wondering if Morgan's suffering Intersect-related brain damage, one line from his job interview with Verbanski will remove all doubt.
