Synopsis:
The lead investigator of the titular group is gunned down at a party the night before their report on police corruption is released. Meanwhile, a gypsy taxi driver is murdered.Tropes for the episode:
- Ballroom Blitz: A sniper sprays a ballroom in a high-rise with bullets while his victims are dancing.
- Mistaken Identity: The female victim is not the intended target, but is clad in a very similar red dress.
- Motive Misidentification: The investigators first believe that the investigator was killed by someone included in the report. In actuality, it's the jealous ex-lover of the man's girlfriend, and he was actually aiming for her.
- Title Drop: It's the name of the group formed to investigate corruption within the NYPD.
