Synopsis:
A wine shop owner is shot in his store. Across town, a movie producer is found dead on a canopy below his penthouse apartment during a party.Tropes for the episode:
- Accident, Not Murder: The producer, despite being as such a jerk that there were many people with motive to kill him, was not murdered. He simply fell off his own balcony.
- Destroy the Evidence: Someone in the first case removes an item left at the crime scene in hopes that a specific one of the culprits would not be identified.
- Fat Bastard: The movie producer was very overweight and very overbearing. Among other things, he fired a skinny actress on the spot for eating one hors d'oeuvre at his party and refused to even consider a scriptwriter's request for a change of release date for his movie that was going up against a Pixar film.
- Life Will Kill You: The producer lost his balance and fell off his own balcony while reaching for a snack he had hidden on an adjacent window sill.
- Secret Snack Stash: The (overweight) producer hides chocolates because his wife has him on a diet.
- Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: The overweight producer and his pretty, blonde, trophy wife.
- Who Murdered the Asshole: The investigators are at a loss as to which one of the many people at the victim's party is the killer because so many of them had motive. They only attended to try to get on his good side and/or advance their own careers, not because any of them actually liked him.
