Michael recovers from a near fatal injury as the group deals with the fall-out from his meet with Barrett. While they're at the hospital, a number of people are brought in following a bombing at a restaurant. Suspicious that it might be related to Barrett's death and Simon's bible, the team investigates. As it turns out, the bomber is a Knight Templar who thinks he's cleansing the world of criminals and was hired by Adam Scott, the Amoral Attorney from the previous episode, for revenge against the man who kidnapped his daughter.
- Artistic License – Chemistry: Mercury fulminate is highly explosive (it used to be used as the primary explosive in firearms and artillery after moving away from black powder), but it's not explosive in solution. The "you wouldn't have a foot any more!" demonstration wouldn't have been demonstrative.
- Awesome McCoolname: Subverted with Mark Sweeney. Not exactly the name of a world-conquering badass.
- Boom, Headshot!: How Barfield kills Scott, the attorney from the previous episode.
- Call-Back: "Where am I?" "Miami."
- Dented Iron: Michael has a half-inch diameter tunnel through his chest.
- Department of Redundancy Department: "I can't be on pain medications if I'm going to be in... situations I'm going to be in."
- Determinator Michael's not going to let that minor injury stop him from fighting for justice.
- I Did What I Had to Do: Jesse triggers Barfield's last bomb while the man is holding it, inside a house, alone, surrounded by cops. "Sometimes you have to put the rabid dog down". Even Fi looks shocked, as they had him dead to rights and didn't need to kill him to end the threat, although that might be because it was her house Jesse just blew up.
- Immediate Sequel: This episode picks up right where the mid-season finale left off.
- Improperly Paranoid: The explosion is related to the team, just not through the burn notice, it's through the previous week's client.
- Knight Templar: Barfield, the bomber, believes he's cleaning up the world by killing criminals, degenerates, and perverts.
- Laser-Guided Karma: Hire an Ax-Crazy bomber to kill people, get killed by an Ax-Crazy bomber after Michael forces you to call it off.
- Properly Paranoid: Mike and Sam are suspicious that an explosion rocks Miami shortly after the events of the previous episode. Problem is, it's not related to Barrett's death and the Internal Reveal to the world that Drake Industries has been funding wars for years.
- Smug Snake: Michael's client from the previous episode turns up as the villain of this episode. He has an alibi, and he's practically giddy about sharing it with Michael and Fiona.
- Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: Fi, as usual. Good thing they didn't. Turns out he has five bombs out there, all with iffy radio detonators.
