Michael is approached by an Amoral Attorney whose daughter has been kidnapped by the brother of an incredibly obviously guilty client. He also sets up the meet with John Barrett, the head of another villainous black-ops organization looking to take down the group that burned Michael. All of this is complicated by the fact that Jesse has figured out that Michael got him burned, and now Jesse is pissed. The episode ends with Michael's meeting with Barrett going sideways as Vaughn stabs Michael in the back and sends in a small army to take Barrett, Jesse saving Michael's life by shooting through him to take out a bad guy, Barrett taking Michael away in an SUV, Michael saving himself by crashing the car and killing Barrett, and an unknown figure walking away with both Simon's bible and the list it decodes. Oh, the list, that identifies everyone in the organization that burned Michael; Simon's insurance plan.
- Amoral Attorney: The client of the week is a defense attorney who represents absolute scumbags. One of them kidnapped his daughter.
- Cliffhanger: Barrett is dead, Michael bleeding to death, and an unknown figure has taken the bible.
- Dies Wide Open: The last we see of Barrett, he's dead in his overturned car.
- Even Evil Has Loved Ones: The bad guy wants his brother out of jail.
- Friend to All Children: Michael doesn't want anything to do with the attorney until he learns that the man's daughter has been kidnapped.Attorney's assistant: So you'll help him?
Michael: I'll help her. - Papa Wolf: The client ends the episode hinting that he'll be seeking revenge.
- Wham Episode: Michael is near-fatally wounded, Sam, Fi, and Jesse are caught in a firefight between two powerful, criminal, black-ops organizations, the man who had answers about the org that burned Michael is dead, and the bible and the list it decodes are in the wind.
- Would Hurt a Child: The bad guy of the episode kidnapped a five year old girl.
