Is this a Ben-Convention? note

Vilgax and Eon team up to wipe out every Ben in every dimension.

Tropes in this episode:

  • All Up to You: The episode ends with every Ben except No Watch Ben erased from time, leaving him to stop Vilgax with Ben Prime's Omnitrix.
  • Alliance of Alternates: Vilgax and Eon gather evil Bens from across the multiverse to have muscle for their evil plan. Paradox responds in kind with Ben Prime, Ben 23, Ben 10,000, and Gwen 10.
  • Allohistorical Allusion:
    • Kevin’s cameo has him stealing Ben’s watch.
    • Ben and Gwen aren’t close in the No-Watch timeline, but they both agree that driving around in their Grandpa’s rusted old motor home was “the most boring summer ever”.
    • Gwen signed up for an early college admission link in the prime timeline, but got cold feet and pulled out here.
  • Alternate Universe: Multiple, each with their own gimmick. Most of them are unseen and only given details by Word of God.
    • This entire episode takes place in a universe where Ben never finds the Omnitrix. Without the Omnitrix nor the alien adventures, Ben and Gwen are never close, Ben never met Kevin, Ben became friends with JT and Cash, and Grandpa Max somehow loses his arm and replaced it with a prosthetic.
    • Bad Ben's universe is described as one where "everyone is desperate".
    • Ben-zarro's universe was hit by a Zombie Apocalypse. Gwen and Dr. Animo are among the few humans left alive, trying to find a cure.
    • Mad Ben's Earth was devastated at some point, resulting in a Mad Max style wasteland. It gets revisited in a future episode...
    • Nega Ben's universe is a Not as You Know Them universe, with Ben being emo, Gwen being a cheerleader, Kevin being a Surfer Dude, and so on.
  • And Now for Someone Completely Different: This two-parter has No Watch Ben as the main focus.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: Vilgax detonates the Chronosapien Time Bomb, destroying every universe except No Watch Ben's.
  • Big Damn Heroes: Vilgax, Eon and the Evil Bens are about to rush at the good Bens only for Professor Paradox arrive with back-up in the form of Ben 23, Gwen 10 and Ben 10,000.
  • Bittersweet Ending: The Multiverse is wiped out and so is every Ben 10, but No Watch Ben is still alive and has Ben's Omnitrix and Paradox is going to take him to reset everything.
  • Continuity Nod: No Watch Ben was playing soccer much like his Prime counterpart did in the first episode of Ben 10: Alien Force.
  • Desperately Seeking A Purpose In Life: No Watch Ben wishes that he could do something more other than living his boring life. He got what he wanted....
  • Evil Me Scares Me: No Watch Ben is terrified of his evil alternate selves.
  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: We open the episode with Ben, who saves a cat from a tree without turning into an alien, and then compares the situation to being a superhero… at which point we see that his watch is just a broken digital watch, telling us that this isn’t the regular Ben.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Bad Ben notes that he and No Watch Ben take the same self-defence classes, despite their different backgrounds.
  • Mythology Gag: Bad Ben’s version of Ghostfreak has his original voice, as opposed to the more heroic voice Steven Blum gave him in Omniverse.
  • Properly Paranoid: The reason why Vilgax and Eon are so dead set in wiping out a Ben Tennyson without an Omnitrix IS BECAUSE he doesn't have an Omnitrix and they have enough experiences to know just how formidable a Ben Tennyson is without the watch. They were right after all....
  • "Ray of Hope" Ending: Despite Vilgax succeeding in destroying every Ben in the multiverse, Professor Paradox has recruited the No Watch Ben to Set Right What Once Went Wrong.
  • Screams Like a Little Girl: No Watch Ben react this way whenever he sees the aliens.
  • Take Up My Sword: Before he disappears, Prime Ben gives No Watch Ben his Omnitrix.
  • Uniformity Exception: Albedo is among the evil Bens, not that No Watch Ben could tell that he's actually a Galvan that only looks like a ten-year-old Ben.
  • Villain Team-Up: Vilgax and Eon ally with each other to take out all the good Bens in the multiverse.
  • Wham Line: Vilgax reveals he has a Chronosapien Time Bomb in his possession and is arming it. Eon relishes the idea of No Watch Ben's universe be destroyed by it except Vilgax has other plans.
Eon: You're going to destroy this Ben 10 and his Timeline. Nice.
Vilgax: On the contrary. The detonation won't even touch this Ben Tennyson or his timeline. It's designed to wipe other timelines from existence.
    Eon: Which one?
    Vilgax: All of them.
  • What Is Evil?: Bad Ben claims that evil is relative to the beholder, Albedo finds being labeled as evil offensive, Mad Ben doesn't care about morality, and Nega Ben just doesn't care at all.
  • The Worf Effect: Ben 10,000 is the strongest of the Bens, and his Biomnitrix allows him to do a Fusion Dance of any two aliens, including Atomix and Alien X. Atomic-X proves fruitless in the face of the Chronosapien Time Bomb.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: The Chronosapien time bomb erases all but one Ben from existence, including the ones Vilgax has allied with. He makes sure to politely thank Eon for helping him once it's too late for Eon to stop him.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: No Watch Ben laments how useless he is because he doesn't have the Omnitrix like the other alternates but Prime Ben assures him that the Omnitrix is just a watch and that it's only the wearer themselves that are special.
