Quotes

"And just like that, everything changed. At that terrible moment, in our hearts, we knew. Home was a pen. Humanity, cattle."
Opening narration

"Not once in this century of terror has mankind risen above the Titans. Their every craven, bloodthirsty advance has left a wake of inestimable loss for us. Lives taken, territory abandoned. However, should we succeed, we'll make history. Today is the day lands taken by our greatest enemy will be reclaimed. For the first time, we will know what it means not to run, but to meet the Titans head-on and win! Now, it may seem an insignificant lot of land compared to the vast tracts of former glory long abandoned, but as a symbol, as an idea, Trost's regain shall stand as a reclamation of pride and hope beyond measure. A leap greater than we have ever taken!"
Commander Dot Pixis, during one of his rousing speeches regarding the operation to recapture the Trost district

"We're born free. All of us. Free. Some don't believe it, some try to take it away. To hell with them! Water like fire, mountains of ice, the whole bit. Lay your eyes on that, and you'll know what freedom is, that it's worth fighting for! Fight to live, risk it all for even a glimmer of real freedom! It doesn't matter what's waiting outside the gate, or what comes in! It doesn't matter how cruel the world can be, or how unjust! Fight. Fight. Fight. FIGHT! FIGHT!!!"
Eren Jaeger, just as he is about to plug the breach in Trost's gate

"I don't know which option you should choose. I could never advise you on that... No matter what kind of wisdom dictates you the option you pick, no one will be able to tell if it's right or wrong until you arrive to some sort of outcome from your choice."
Captain Levi

"The people who have the ability to change something in this world, all, without exception, have the guts to abandon things important to them if they have to."
Armin Arlert

"Christa... I felt the same. That it would have been better if I was never born at all. The world hated me just for existing. To give countless joy to many people, I gave up my life. But - when I did, I wished from the bottom of my heart. If someday I was given a second chance at life... This time. I would live for no one but myself!"
Ymir, while revealing her secret

Reiner Braun: I've been here too long for my own good. Three years of this madness, surrounded by idiots. We were kids! What did we know about anything? Why did there have to be people like this? Why? Why did I let myself devolve into such a half-assed piece of shit?! It's too late now... (begins removing Historia's sling from his injured arm) Damned if I know what's right anymore. Who cares, it is what it is. But the only choice left for me now. (holds up now steaming arm) As a Warrior... no road left but the one that leads to the end! (it heals fully in a crackle of embers)
Bertholdt Hoover: Reiner! Right now, here?! We're doing this?!
Reiner: Yes. Right here, right now, we settle this once and for all!

Eren Jaeger: NOTHING CHANGED! YOU HAVEN'T CHANGED ONE BIT, DAMMIT! YOU'RE STILL AS USELESS AS YOU EVER WERE! NOTHING CHANGED! AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRGH! ... Mama... I... couldn't... I still... Can't do anything at all...
Mikasa Ackerman: Eren... That's not true. (smiles warmly) Eren... listen. I need to tell you something. You've always... been at my side. Thank you. You showed me... how to live with purpose. Thank you. And you... You wrapped this scarf around me. Thank you.
Eren Jaeger: ... (sniffs away his tears, steels himself as he takes to his feet) I'll wrap it around you again... as many times as you want. Now and forever. That's a promise!

"Whoa, whoa, hold on, Historia. Have ya forgotten what your dear old dad did to ya? Ya were born in the first place out of someone else's misery. Because this man disregarded his place in the world just so he could feel good with a house servant... Your mother had ya because she thought, if things went well, maybe she could be the master's wife. But your existence was a disgrace to his subjects and the Assembly! Everyone wished ya'd never been born, includin' your daddy here! But then, the unthinkable! Those pedigreed brats of his went off to meet their maker, all in one night! And, whaddaya know, this nice old fella comes strollin' up to ya! The Assembly ordered us in the Interior Squad to cleanse the stain on the Royal Honour by makin' the whore this man slept with disappear, along with her kid. But he decided to protect you, and just you. He saved your life by coverin' up your birth and sendin' ya to the military. Only the Wallists knew to keep an eye on ya. Why was that? 'Cause his paternal instincts finally kicked in and he decided to start lovin' his daughter? Beep! Wrong!! HE JUST NEEDED YOUR BLOOD!! Not only that, this piece of shit doesn't want to turn into a Titan himself, so he keeps orderin' his brother and daughter to do it!! I got more! He even tried to hide the fact that Freida and his brats were dead and the Power of the Titans had been stolen! All 'cause he was scared that, without that power, the Reiss family wouldn't be at THE CENTRE OF THE UNIVERSE anymore!! He only started spittin' out some details when Eren used his Titan to take back Trost District!! D'ya know how much we lost in those years?! How many precious lives?! O'COURSE HE DON'T GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT ANY OF IT! NOT HIS FAMILY! NOT HUMANITY! AND CERTAINLY NOT YOU, HISTORIA!! ALL HE CARES ABOUT IS PROTECTIN' HIMSELF!! SO, WHAT DO YOU THINK OF YOUR FATHER NOW?!
Kenny Ackerman, laying everything out

"... Never needed to happen... Me... My father... If he hadn't done what he did here five years ago... Your sister would have been able to take care of everything, right? Because he stole the Power of the Titans from its rightful place... So many people died... Armin's grandpa... Thomas... Mina... Mylius... Nac... Marco... Everyone in Squad Levi... The residents of Stohess District... The soldiers who tried to rescue me... Mister Hannes... And so many more I don't even know... I... I could never atone for all that... It never needed to happen. All of those days we spent training. All those dreams about what could be... past the Walls. I... never needed to happen. ... Do it. At the very least... let it end at your hand. Historia... eat me... And save humanity. It's all... up to you."
Eren Jaeger's Despair Event Horizon

"The first King Reiss, the man who created this walled land. Wished for a world where humanity was ruled by the Titans. The First King believed that was the path to true peace. ... I don't know why. It's only known to those who see the memories of the World. I learned that first-hand. My father acted the same way when he inherited the First King's Ideology. Both my brother and I pleaded with him to free humanity from the Titans... We begged him again and again. But he did not grant our wish. Nor would he ever reveal why. Eventually, the day came when our father had to entrust his role to a son. My younger brother volunteered himself, but he gave me a mission of my own in exchange. He said he wanted me to pray. When I saw my brother's eyes after he had inherited the Power of the Titans... I understood what he meant. My brother had become the sole creator of this World. And its ultimate governing force. An all-knowing, all-powerful being. Do you know what we call that? God. Our word for that... is God. There is meaning in every catastrophe. Whether humanity is destined to perish or survive... That decision is in God's hands. My duty is to summon God back into this World and offer my prayers to her. I'm praying, Historia... For God to guide Humanity."
Lord Rod Reiss

"I... don't want to die. And... I want power too. But... Oh. I think... I just got it... Why he did that... Heh, heh, heh, heh. Every last person I've seen... Was the same way... Whether it was booze... Women... Or even God... Family... the King... Dreams... Children... Power... They couldn't keep going... unless they were drunk on something. They were all... slaves to something... Even him. (hacking coughs wrack his body, bringing up blood) Wh - what are you?! A hero?!"
Kenny Ackerman, to Levi Ackerman

Commander Keith Shadis: Do you know why average men can coast through their lives and die without accomplishing a damn thing?! It's because they lack imagination! Their whole lives for nothing! They're not ashamed of an existence that produces nothing but shit! Great deeds... can never be accomplished by ordinary men. I doubt those scraps of flesh would even understand half of what makes a deed great! Certainly a worthless individual who spends her life pouring drinks and cosying up to every man she sees would never understand! Not ever.
Carla Jaeger: Do you really have to be special? Do you really need people's recognition? I don't think so. When it comes to my child... He doesn't need to become great. Why would he have to be better than anyone else? After all, just look at him... He's so cute. He's already great. Because he was... born into this world."

Commander Erwin Smith: They're struggling against three- and four-meter class Titans. There are even some casualties... The Survey Corps' strength isn't what it once was. But... Without all those losses we would have never made it to where we stand today.
Commander-in-Chief Darius Zackly (flashback): You didn't want to die. You're just like me. Your life is more important to you than the fate of humanity.
Commander Erwin Smith: (Erwin ponders for a moment) When I was in the training Corps, I used to tell my friends about the theory my father and I had. I thought I'd prove it when I joined the Survey Corps. But as soon as I became a soldier I stopped talking about it for some reason... No... That's not it. I know the reason. It was because I realized something. I was the only one fighting for my own sake. Everyone else had devoted everything they had to fight for humanity. I alone had dreams of my own. Before I knew it, I had subordinates under my command. I told them to dedicate their hearts to humanity. That's how I fooled my comrades... How I fooled myself... And upon a mountain of their corpses I now stand (Erwin is visualised standing atop a literal mountain of Survey Corps members' corpses, with the corpses staring right at him). And yet, my mind keeps drifting back to that basement. Even if this plan fails, I may yet see it before I die. What Grisha Yeager left behind... That basement... The truth about this world...
Commander Erwin's realisation regarding his motivations

Commander Erwin Smith: I just want to visit that basement... Everything I have done, I did in anticipation of this day. That someday I would be able to check my answers. There were so many times I thought it would be easier to simply die. But then... The dream me and my father shared would flash through my head. And now... Those answers are so close I could reach out and grab them with my own hands... They are right there. But, Levi... Can you see them? (visions of all fallen Survey Corps members appear around Erwin and Levi) Our comrades are watching us. They want to know what became of the hearts they dedicated to our cause. They may be gone, but their fight isn't over yet. Is it all nothing more than my own childish delusion?
Captain Levi: You've fought well. We were only able to get this far thanks to you. I'm making the choice. Give up on your dreams and die for us. I will take down the Beast Titan (Erwin resigns himself to his fate with a smile).
Commander Erwin and Captain Levi's final conversation

Commander Erwin Smith: I will now announce our final operation! All soldiers, line up! All units will now perform a mounted charge! Our objective is to rush the Beast Titan! Obviously, this will make us a perfect target for the enemy! We will observe and take into account the target's throws, then, we will all fire signal flares simultaneously! We'll do everything we can to reduce the accuracy of his attacks to whatever extent possible! While we act as a diversion, Captain Levi will take down the Beast Titan! That is all!
Nameless Soldier: (falls to her knees and voids her stomach's contents)
Erwin: Standing around here simply means waiting for rocks to come raining down on us! Now hurry up and get ready!
Floch Forrester: (Terrified out of his mind) Are we... about... to die?
Erwin: That's right.
Floch: So you're saying... if we're going to die anyway, we might as well die fighting?
Erwin: That's right.
Floch: No... if we're going to die anyway... we can die however we want... we could even die while disobeying orders... There's no meaning to any of it, is there...?
Erwin: That's absolutely right. It is all utterly meaningless. No matter what dreams or hopes you may have, no matter what kind of blissful life you've lived until now... what happens to your body when it gets shredded by a rock... is the same. All men die sooner or later. Does that mean all life is meaningless? Was there no purpose to any of us ever being born? And if so, would you say the same of our dead comrades? Were all of their lives... meaningless? NO, ABSOLUTELY NOT! IT IS UP TO US TO GIVE MEANING TO OUR COMRADES' DEATHS! THOSE BRAVE FALLEN MEN AND WOMEN! THOSE POOR FALLEN MEN AND WOMEN! THE ONLY ONES WHO ARE CAPABLE OF PAYING RESPECT TO THEM, ARE WE, THE LIVING! WE TOO SHALL ALL DIE HERE TODAY, AND ENTRUST THOSE NEXT IN LINE WITH THE SAME DUTY OF GIVING MEANING TO US! THAT IS THE SOLE WAY WE CAN OPPOSE THIS CRUEL WORLD! RAGE, MY SOLDIERS! SCREAM, MY SOLDIERS! FIGHT, MY SOLDIERS!!!

"The main reason I chose you wasn't because you hated Marley more than any other. It's because you went past the wall that day. If you had never gone outside together with your sister, you would have inherited your father's clinic, you would never have met Dina, and Zeke never would have been born. Your little sister would have been an adult by now, probably married. Perhaps she would have been a mother. But you went past the wall. We sought freedom, and our brothers and sisters paid the price for it. There's only one way to pay them back. From the first day I kicked my countrymen off from this place... From the day you brought your sister outside the wall... Those actions will follow us until they're repaid. Even if we die, even after we die. You began this story, didn't you?"
Eren Kruger, convincing Grisha Jaeger to continue his mission to restore Eldia

"There's a sea... and just across that sea, freedom's waiting. That's what I always believed, at least. But I was wrong. I know what's waiting across the sea now. It's our enemies. Everything we've seen... has been exactly as it was in my father's memories. Hey... if we did cross the sea and we killed our enemies... after that, would we finally be free?"
Eren Jaeger, steeling himself for the Last War of the Titans against Marley and the rest of the world

"Every day I've spent here, I've wondered: how did all these people let it come to this? Minds and bodies ruined... dreams of freedom erased... personalities burned away... No one would want to go to war if they knew what it would do to them. But it's not like we all leapt into that hell knowingly. Most of us were pushed, some of us were pushed by other people and some of us were pushed by the environments we grew up in. So, the few who do choose to leap into hell see it differently than the rest. And they're also able to see something beyond the hell. Maybe that something is hope. Or maybe it's just another hell. Fact is... you can only find out by moving forward."
Eren Jaeger's latest but more understated Rousing Speech, to Falco Grice

Eren Jaeger: It's true... I once thought of everyone on the other side of the ocean as my enemy. Then... I crossed it. I slept under the same roof as my enemies. And I ate the same food as them. Reiner... I'm the same as you. Sure, there were people who pissed me off. But there are good people too. (glances at Falco) Past the ocean... Inside the Walls... We are all the same. But all of you... You were taught that everyone inside the Walls was different from you. That they were demons. That they were devils that threatened you Eldians who lived on the Continent along with the rest of the World. You were ignorant children. And all of that was beaten into you by ignorant adults. You were just a child. What could you have done to fight back against that? Your environment. Your history. Right, Reiner? All this time... It was painful for you, wasn't it? I think now... I finally understand that.
Reiner Braun: ... (breaks down completely in anguish and self-loathing, falling at Eren's feet) NO! You are wrong, Eren! I... That day... That day... When Marcel was eaten... Annie... and Bertholdt wanted to abort the mission. They tried to turn back, but.. I... I convinced them not to... and made them continue... Yes... It was partially out of self-preservation... But... I wanted to become a hero! That's why I always acted like everyone's big brother too. I wanted someone to respect me... That wasn't about my age or my environment... It was my fault. Your mother was eaten by a Titan because of me!! I can't stand this anymore... Just, kill me, please... I want... to vanish...

Lord Willy Tybur: THE PEOPLE GATHERED HERE MAY BELONG TO DIFFERENT RACES, DIFFERENT NATIONS. BUT IF WE'RE TO SURVIVE THIS CRISIS, THEN FOR THE FIRST TIME IN HISTORY, WE MUST JOIN AS ONE! SO PLEASE... IF YOU WISH TO LIVE, THEN LEND ME YOUR STRENGTH! HELP ME PROTECT OUR WORLD'S FUTURE! IF WE WORK TOGETHER, WE CAN OVERCOME ANY OBSTACLE! ANY THREAT!
Eren Jaeger: I was right. I am the same as you. (Extends his cut hand to Reiner)
[Reiner tearfully looks up at Eren.]
Tybur: I ASK EACH OF YOU TO JOIN ME AS I GO TO FIGHT THE DEVILS WHO HAVE PLUNGED OUR WORLD INTO HELL! HELP ME DEFEAT THEM!
[Reiner stands up and shakes Eren's hand.]
Eren: I think maybe we were born this way.
Tybur: HERE AND NOW, AS A REPRESENTATIVE OF MARLEY'S GOVERNMENT, I SEND THIS MESSAGE TO THE DEVILS OF PARADIS!
Eren: I'll just keep moving forward.
Reiner: ...Huh?
Eren: 'Till I killed my enemies.
[Eren activates the Power of the Titans under a building packed to the brim with civilians, while Reiner turns around and dives toward Falco, to save him.]
Tybur: CONSIDER THIS... A DECLARATION OF WAR!

Armin: We're the ones who wanted to talk to you. We just wanted to know what you were thinking, Eren...what made you decide on your own to attack Marley? If...Zeke and Yelena have really gotten you on their side...
Eren: I am free. Whatever I do. Whatever I choose. I do it out of my own free will.

Eren Jaeger: There's nothing further removed from freedom than ignorance. I learned about the Ackermans there, too. The reason you're strong, Mikasa. It turns out that Marleyan scholars still barely know a thing about the titans. But what came about by accident from the Eldian Empire's fiddling around with the subjects of Ymir during its long history was the Ackerman clan, who maintain a human form but, in some cases, can manifest the power of the titans. Still, the Ackerman clan was designed in order to protect Eldia's king. As a result, the instincts in their blood will still activate once they recognize someone as a host.
Mikasa Ackermann: Huh?
Eren: In other words, you only cling to me because of your instincts as an Ackerman. You obeyed my order in that moment when you were facing death. "Fight." Apparently, when all those conditions are met, the instincts hidden inside the Ackerman clan's blood will awaken. Not only did this heighten your physical abilities to an extreme, you were even given the experience in battle accumulated by every past Ackerman by way of a path. All because you happened by chance to trick yourself into believing I was the host you had to protect.
Mikasa: You're wrong.
Eren: I am? How?
Mikasa: It wasn't by chance. It's because it was you...I was able to become strong. Because of you, Eren. It was all because of you...
Eren: Apparently, once an Ackerman awakens, they often find themselves suffering from sudden headaches. They say this happens out of the true self trying to resist being forced to protect its host...sound familiar?
Mikasa: ...No.
Eren: What I'm saying is that the real Mikasa disappeared in that mountain hut, at nine years old. Leaving only you behind, ever faithful to your Ackerman instincts.
Mikasa: ...No. I...
Eren: A clan who lost their true selves, created only to follow orders. In other words, slaves.
Armin Arlert: Stop it, Eren!
Eren: Do you know what I hate most in this world? Anyone who isn't free. That, or cattle.
Armin: Eren!!
Eren: Just looking at them made me so angry. Now I finally understand why. I couldn't stand to look at an undoubting slave who only ever followed orders. Ever since I was a kid... Mikasa. I've always hated you.

Reiner: Come on, Eren. Give up already. You've lost this fight. It's over. You've suffered enough. We all have and that includes you. Why keep going? Even now, you're forcing yourself to struggle... and for what? Eren... I just want to be done with this. How did I ever believe we were the same? Let it end already! Just... go to sleep!
Eren: (Kubrick Stare, seizes Reiner by the mouth and begins to crush his skull) AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

"If someone is willing to take my freedom... I won't hesitate to take theirs. Our father never made me that way. It's who I've been since the time I was born."
Eren Jaeger

"On your feet, dad. You're not done yet. In case you've forgotten. You have your own reasons for coming. You had a little sister, 'till that man fed her to his dogs. Think... of your slaughtered comrades, of Kruger, of Dina. Avenge them. Keep moving forward. Even if you die. Even after you die. And after all, this whole ugly story... started with you."
Eren Yeager, persuading Grisha Yeager to kill the Reiss family

The 1st King: Do it. Feast, my daughters! We must bear Ymir's power into the future, no matter the cost. Consume every scrap and sinew of your mother's body. Maria. Rose. Sina. My daughters. You must give birth and multiply. The blood of Ymir has to live on. When you yourselves die, let my grandchildren eat your spines. And let their children eat their spines. So forth and so on. Forever! Even after my passing, my Eldians shall wield Ymir's power and reign supreme all over the world. Our Titans will bring the people of every land to heel. So long as this world persists, our reign shall-
Eren: (Hugging Ymir to him on his knees, to the King's Will) I'LL END IT! HERE AND NOW! I'LL PUT AN END TO THIS WORLD IF YOU GIVE YOUR STRENGTH! (To Ymir) You're nobody's slave, and you're no god either! You're just a person! You don't have to serve anyone. You can make your own choices! This is your power. You get to decide! Do you want to stay here for eternity? Or do you want me to end it!
Zeke: Wait, Eren. Stop it! You can't do this! What the hell are you thinking? (Begins to run towards Ymir and Eren) YMIR! I GAVE YOU A COMMAND! YOU HAVE TO OBEY MY WILL!
Eren: You've been guiding me this whole time, haven't you?
Zeke: WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? DO IT, YMIR!
Eren: You've been all alone, waiting.
Zeke: I'M DESCENDED FROM ELDIAN ROYALTY! OBEY ME!
Eren: Two thousand years, for someone.

"Hear me. Subjects of Ymir. My name is Eren Yeager. I'm addressing my fellow subjects of Ymir. Speaking to you directly through the power of the Founder. All the walls on the island of Paradis have crumbled to the ground, and the legions of Titans buried within have begun their march. My only goal is to protect the lives of the people of Paradis, the island where I was born. Right now, the nations of the world are united in their desire to exterminate my people, and it won't end with our island. They won't be satisfied until every last Subject of Ymir is dead. I won't let them have their way. The Titans of the walls will continue their march until every trace of life beyond our shores is trampled flat, and the people of Paradis... are all that remains of humanity."
Eren Jaeger, The Founding Titan & Devil of All Earth

Mikasa: I looked for you...
Louise: I'm happy. Were you looking for me...or were you looking for this scarf?
Mikasa: I knew you'd have it.
Louise: I'm sorry...but...I thought it'd bring me closer to you. The shard of the thunder spear in my stomach can't be removed, it's a shame. I can't see Eren Jaeger set the world free. Just for a bit...I spoke to Mr. Jaeger about you...he told me to throw this scarf away. But, if it's going to be thrown away anyway, I could at least have it with me...
Mikasa: Give it back.
Louise: It's because I look up to you, that I became a soldier. I have no regrets. I followed you and lived devoting my heart.

Eren: Forgive me! I'm sorry! I'm so sorry!
Ramzi: For what? Why are you crying, sir?
Eren: I'm doing it. For Eldia and the island. But there's more than just that. The world I found outside the walls and the world I always dreamed of are nothing alike. It's so different from the place I saw in Armin's book. When I learned that humanity had survived out here, I felt... I'd never been so let down. I made a wish. That all of it would be wiped away. I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm sorry... I'm so sorry!

"From the moment I was born, those stifling walls were the farthest I could see.

Water that glows like fire. Fields of ice. Sandy snowfields.

To witness all that...

Was to know the greatest freedom this world could offer.

We're here.

We're free!"
Eren Jaeger

We used hate, raised hate, believed hate to be our savior. We left all the problems we created on the "island of devils" and as a result, the devil was born to return the hate we gave it. If I were given another chance...I swear not to make the same mistakes again.

Marleyan monologue from Chapter 134

"It's almost as if you're saying you're any different from me. Just what exactly is different between you lot and me... Saving the world... Is there a sweeter set of words that charms people more than those? ...Giving yourselves over to that exciting sentiment of saving hundreds of millions of lives, washing all the ill will down your throats like it never existed... That's what you look like in my eyes right now. Let's take a little trip down memory lane shall we? Reiner Braun, by breaching Wall Maria, how many Eldians do you suppose were devoured by Pure Titans? Slipping into their world, sharing joys and sorrows with your 'comrades' here. You betrayed them. You murderered them. And now you pretend to be a comrade once more. Annie Leonhart. you slaughtered the Survey Corps in droves, you trampled the residents of Stohess in even greater numbers. Ah, of course you Paridisians were all extremely heroic against Marley too. Armin, such a quiet and reasonable young man, yet you levelled the military port using the power you stole from Bertholdt Hoover. Civilian and soldier alike, just how tall of a mountain of corpses did you raise alongside your military exploits? And though I know nothing of your [ Connie's ] valour in Liberio. I'm sure you magnificently annihilated the soldiers of Marley, who greatly outnumbered you and dyed Liberio the colour of blood. Especially Jean... In order to slay the Cart Titan you aimed at Falco and dauntlessly fired your Thunder Spear. Because the spear barely missed, Falco is still here. Then Sasha was shot by the little girl there, Gabi. I was saddened, Sasha was a good and noble person. But it surely can't compare to the sadness and hatred of those who knew her like family."
Yelena

"Don't... please... Don't... do it... Everyone... on the island... They'll all be killed... Our... Devil... is the only one... who can save us."
Floch Forster

Eren Jaeger: I will hold freedom in my hands by taking it from this world. But from you, I will take nothing. You are all free. You are all free to oppose me, and defend the world's freedom. Just as I am free to move forwards. Our convictions can never be reconciled, and our wills will not bend. There is only one way for this to be resolved. Fight.
Armin: But then- then why do this? If talking won't help, then why bring us here?
Eren: I brought you here to say that there is nothing to say. You will only stop my advance when you stop me from breathing. And you are free to try.

"Eren. You said there was nothing to say, but you were wrong. I've got a question. and you will answer it. What do you really mean when you say you're free?"
Armin Arlert

"What a beautiful day it is. If only I had eyes on things like this sooner... well, considering all the killing I've done, that'd be too much to ask."
Zeke Yeager's last words.

"You really enjoy making life hell, don't you, Eren? Fine. We'll do things your way! I'll see this through to the end!"
Armin Arlert

"I don't know what will happen after I die... But I know... You can make it to the other side of the Walls. Humanity will be saved... by you... Armin."
Eren Yeager's final words.

Translation:

Are you the prey? No, we are the hunters!

Crimson Bow and Arrow

Unknown are the names of the flowers that have been trampled
Birds that have fallen to the earth and long for the wind
Prayers won’t change anything
Only the will to fight can change the here and now!

O pigs who laugh at the resolve to step over corpses to move forward
Livestock complacency? False prosperity?
Give us the freedom of dying, starving wolves!

The humiliation of being caged is what triggers us to fight back.
We hunters slaughter prey beyond the castle walls,
Consumed with surging bloodlust,
As our crimson bows and arrows pierce scarlet holes into the twilight.

Drawing his bow, he takes after his target; he won’t let it escape
Releasing his arrow, he closes upon it; he won’t let it escape
He bends his bow to its limits, the string on the verge of snapping
He’ll release it, time and time again, until his target draws its last breath

What truly kills a prey are not weapons nor your skills at using it
But your own sharp killing intent

We are the hunters! Passionate as flames!
We are the hunters! Cold as ice!
We are the hunters! Pour your heart and soul into your arrow!
We are the hunters! Boldly go forth and pierce through everything!

Attack on the Titans
The boy from back then will soon take up the sword

Who only laments his powerlessness won’t be able to change anything
The boy from back then will soon take up the black sword
Hate and rage are a double-edged blade
Soon, one day, he will bare his fangs against fate

Ones that could hope to change anything
Are ones who could bear to abandon anything
Without bearing any risk at all,
How could you hope to attain anything?

Foolish assumption they are but mere phantasms
Right now, we could do with even reckless courage
The advance guards of freedom, betting on their offensive
Victory to the charging slaves!

All this absurdity forced upon us are our cue to attack
Deprived of his horizon, Eren yearns for freedom
While relentless killer impulses assail his body,
He carries violet to dusk with an arrow from Hades.

Translation:

Well friend!
Now here is your victory.
This is the first glory.
O, my friend!
Let's celebrate this victory for the next fight!

I won't let your deaths be meaningless
Even if I'm the last one standing.

The enemy is gruesome; we'll bring it on
The enemy is gigantic; we'll spring up high

We grip two steel blades of glory, sing the song of victory, and have the Wings of Freedom on our backs
With our determination held tightly to our heart, we sever this ring of folly, and dance into the blue sky
Wings of Freedom!

Didn't the birds break out of their eggs in order to fly, not to crawl on the ground pathetically?
For what reason do you possess those wings? Isn't the sky in the birdcage a little too small?

Freedom and Death: The two of them are twins.
Freedom or Death?
Our friend is but one of them!

For what reason were we born?
I don't know the answer to such complicated questions.
Even if our birth had been a mistake,
I do know for what reason we are alive.
We are alive... to live in freedom... resulting from our undeniable existence!

Wings of Freedom...

The hidden truth will be the charging arrow
It will pierce the sealed inner darkness as well as the Titans lurking in the light
With our previous beliefs crumbling away, even though we feel lost, let's nevertheless march towards freedom!

The left way?
Or the right way?
Well, which way is correct?
The friend?
Or the enemy?
People, which one are you?

We grip the gear of our fighting spirit, sing the song of the light of hope, and have the horizon of freedom on our backs.
With the chains connecting this world in our chests, we play a song of what might lurk behind all possibilities. Dance into the blue sky!
Wings of Freedom!

Well friend!
Now here is your victory.
This is the first glory.
O, my friend!
Let's celebrate this victory for the next-
The enemy is gruesome; we'll bring it on
Wings of Freedom!

    The Reluctant Heroes

Day by day
We have lost our edge
Don't you know?
Forgotten is the life we led
Now it seems
You don't care what the risk is
The peaceful times have made us blind

Can't look back
They will not come back
Can't be afraid
It's time after time
So once again
I'm hiding in my room
The peaceful times have made us blind

So you can't fly if you never try
You told me, oh, long ago
But you left the wall
Outside the gate
So more than ever, it's real

It was like a nightmare
And it's painful for me
'Cause nobody wants to die too fast
Remember the day of grief
Now it's strange for me
I could see your face
I could hear your voice

Remember the day we met
And it's painful for me
'Cause nobody wants to die too fast
Remember the day we dreamt
And it's painful for me
I could see your face
I could hear your voice

Song for reluctant heroes
Oh give me your strength
Our life is so short
Song for reluctant heroes
I wanna be brave like you

From my heart
Song for the reluctant heroes
Oh give me your strength
Our life is so short
Song for the reluctant heroes
I wanna be brave like you

Can't look back
They will not come back
Can't be afraid
It's time after time

    DOA

Can't you see over there?
Such a horrible sight
They're devouring all like you
Here come the giant hands
Breaking through the wall
As dawn arrives
We still survive
Nobody knows what's going on
Tearing my town, limb by limb
Where are your mom and dad?

Was it shocking for you?
Something is scaring you
Enemies will hunt you
No matter what you do
But we'll fight for you
Til we defeat them all
If not... there's no way out

Keep your weapons aimed
Here come the chilling face
Pushing down your fear
Jump on the necks of the monsters
You can't hide yourself
You can't run
We're fighting for our lives
And we just can't lose again
There's not much time
Be ready to fight
Do it

I know how you feel
But we know what we must do

I know how you feel
But we know what we must do

I know how you feel
But we know what we must do

I know how you feel
But we know what we must do

Keep your weapons aimed
Here come the chilling face
Pushing down your fear
Jump on the necks of the monsters
You can't hide yourself

    Call your name

She lost her brother a month ago
His picture on the wall
And it reminds me
When she brings me coffee, her smile
I wish I could be with her until my last day

She said she gave all her love to me
We dreamt a new life
Some place to be at peace
But things changed, suddenly
I lost my dreams in this disaster

I'm crying
Missing my lover
I don't have the power
On my side forever

Oh where is my lover
And I got no power
I'm standing alone, No way
Calling out your name

I said I gave all my love to you
We dreamt a new house
Some place to be at peace
But things changed, suddenly
I lost my dreams in this disaster

We don't know what is wrong tonight
Everybody's got no place to hide
No one's left and there's no one to go on
All I know is my life is gone

I'm crying
Missing my lover
I don't have the power
On my side forever

Oh where is my lover
And I got no power
I'm standing alone, no way
Calling out your name

    Yamanaiame

Look over there that one big hole
Somebody's got to move this huge stone
A dog? A hound? I hear the sound
It is a half mile away from home

What was everything you were fighting for?
The sun in the sky it makes me so blue
Rotten everything that I liked you for
You can't give up

Now you see
Chasing the light, it's blowing right through the air
We gonna keep on fighting for our dreams
Come on we'll get on all fours
And then we will crawl in the grass
Until lost in my mind
I am just losing myself (eh, eh)

I try to care they look so young
And left there toys and picked up a gun
They kiss goodbye a lullaby
I have to train them all in bloody war

What was everything you were fighting for?
The sun in the sky it makes me so blue
Rotten everything that I liked you for
You can't give up

Now you see
Chasing the light, it's blowing right through the air
We gonna keep on fighting for our dreams
Come on we'll get on all fours
And then we will crawl in the grass
Until lost in my mind
I am just losing myself

We gonna keep on fighting for our dreams
Come on we'll get on all fours
And then we will crawl in the grass
Until lost in my mind
I am just losing myself

I heard all the bells calling
Our nightmares of walls falling
You came back and gave your help
But you're lying on the ground
We turn back the tide of hell
And win back our fantasy
We fight for our right to be a free people again
And now we can see

People shouting everywhere
So much blood shed I can't bear
I can not erase the words you said to me
But now you're dead
You will stand the endless rain
Wish I could have helped you more
When you died only the day before
