A 1992 American Comedy directed by Francis Veber that has a man (Matthew Broderick) having a detour on his way to visit his sister (Courtney Peldon) in a logging town.

The movie also stars Jeffrey Jones, Heidi Kling, John C. Reilly, Marian Mercer, Larry Hankin, David Margulies, Nancy Lenehan, and Benjamin Diskin.

It was released on September 4, 1992.


Tropes for the film:

  • Hand-or-Object Underwear: Bill Campbell gets his clothes and car stolen at gunpoint, leaving him fully naked. He covers his genitals with a mailbox, but is promptly caught and laughed at by a busload of female students. He is picked up on the highway (still fully naked) by two brothers, and later dons a scarecrow's outfit.
  • I Want You to Meet an Old Friend of Mine: Jones and Broderick previously worked together on Ferris Bueller's Day Off.
  • One-Steve Limit: The movie has a pair of brothers named Jim. "We were named after different people though. I'm named after our Dad, and he was named after our Grandpa".
  • Stripping the Scarecrow: Bill has his car and clothes stolen at gunpoint, meaning for a while he running around totally naked covering his parts with just a mail box. He soon takes a scarecrow's clothes to preserve his modesty.
  • Tagline: "He's got 24 hours to find his missing wallet with a phone number worth a hundred million dollars. There's only one place he hasn't looked".
