    • Bob actively avoids the notion of a romantic relationship with Alice. Not because he's intimidated by her wealth... Its her family that he's intimidated by. Namely, her Jerkass father, her alcoholic mother, her cold older sister and her Spoiled Brat of a younger brother.
  • Double Subverted: She doesn't know scruffy-looking Bob is actually filthy rich, or she didn't know when they fell in love with each other and the knowledge of his vast wealth doesn't change a thing.
  • Parodied: Alice furiously refuses to marry several wealthy bachelors her age because they are wealthy.

But Charles is the father of her child and she decides they should be with him ... while she goes off with the man she loves best.
