Basic Trope: Throwing your sword at your opponent is a valid strategy.
- Straight: During the final battle with Evulz Bob throws his sword to deal the killing blow.
- Exaggerated: Bob's main weaponry is throwing BFS at his opponents and he doesn't even know how to use it any other way.
- Downplayed:
- During his battle with Evulz Bob throws a dagger to distract Evulz so that he can close in.
- Bob throws his sword to Evulz, but it was already broken.
- Bob, wounded and trapped by Evulz with no way to escape, throws his sword in the hope it works, since he'll die anyway unless it works.
- Bob hides on a roof, waits for Evulz to walk past him, and drops his sword on Evulz's head.
- Justified:
- Evulz was too far away and Bob lacked any long-range weaponry.
- Bob was already near death in his battle, so he would still die even with his sword.
- Bob sword is magical in nature, and will always return to his hand on command, no matter how far.
- Inverted:
- Pistol Whip.
- Bob always use range weaponry, from pistol to rocket launcher, as a melee weapon, not even knowing they can shoot.
- Subverted: The sword misses Evulz, who laughs at Bob for throwing away his weapon.
- Double Subverted: Bob wasn't aiming for Evulz...
- Zig Zagged: ???
- Averted: Bob never throws his sword, instead using an appropriate range weapon.
- Parodied: Bob specialty is throwing swords, and can't comprehend that swords can be use for melee.
- Enforced: ???
- Lampshaded:
- "Gee Bob, what a great idea to give Evulz your only weapon."
- Evul: "D-did you just throw your sword at me! Well thanks for the free weapon."
- Exploited: Evulz goads Bob into throwing his sword, so that he may take it.
- Defied: Bob makes it a point to buy a ranged weapon so that he doesn't need to throw his sword.
- Discussed: "Remember that swords are for close combat only. If your enemy is too far away, don't waste time trying to throw your weapon at them."
- Conversed: ???
- Deconstructed: The sword is the only weapon in Bob's possession. By throwing it away, Bob becomes defenseless.
- Reconstructed: Bob manages to kill his opponent by throwing his sword. Since the fight is now over, Bob doesn't need to worry about defending himself.
- Implied: We don't see the full fight between Bob and Evulz, but at the end of the fight, Bob walks towards Evulz's corpse and removes his sword from it.
- Played For Laughs: The sword hits Evulz pommel-first on the head and makes him dizzy.
Fling your sword to go back to Throwing Your Sword Always Works.
