  • Exaggerated:
  • Downplayed: The stakes are the same in the sequel, but the content inside is more - such as bigger fight scenes, and further development.
  • Justified:
    • The first film was just setting up the stage for where the story would go next.
    • The sequel is Darker and Edgier.
  • Inverted:
    • Evulz goes from threatening the world in the original, to just Trope City in the sequel.
    • The Prequel to Trope Adventure has Evulz threaten Trope City, chronologically before he made any plans of threatening the world.
    • The original film had Evulz taking over Trope City whereas in the prequel, it has him taking over the world.
  • Subverted: Evulz starts out threatening the world, but then it deescalates into just Trope City.
  • Double Subverted: But a certain plot point changes it back to the world.
  • Parodied: Trope Adventures ends with a promise of a "bigger badder sequel", said in a sports announcer voice.
  • Zig-Zagged: Trope Adventure is a Long Runner series of films, and the stakes within the stories vary. 2 has the world at stake, but then in 3 it's just a MacGuffin, but then in 4 it's the world again, and then in 5 only part of the world, but then in 6...
  • Averted: The sequels don't escalate upon the first.
  • Enforced: "Okay, so if we're gonna make a sequel, we have to take everything from the first and make it bigger. Sequels are always bigger."
  • Lampshaded: "For some reason, it's always harder the second time around."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: ???
  • Discussed: "First Trope City, now Evulz is after the world?" "The second time around, the stakes are always higher. Just like in the movies."
  • Conversed: ???
