Basic Trope: A hero offers a villain one last chance to turn good.
- Straight: Hiro offers Dracone one final chance to end his reign of terror.
- Exaggerated:
- Hiro offers every last villain a chance to repent; even the mooks.
- In a video game with Faction-Specific Endings, pretty much every faction offers this or, if their alignment tends more towards evil, a We Can Rule Together. There's a special achievement for impulsively taking every one offered.
- Downplayed: Hiro tells Dracone he doesn't have to do this. The later just shakes his head and gets into position.
- Justified: Hiro and Dracone were once friends until Dracone fell into corruption, but Hiro doesn't want to kill him and wants to take upon himself to bring his friend back to his side.
- Inverted:
- Dracone offers Hiro one last chance to join the dark side.
- Dracone begs Hiro for one last chance to repent and turn good.
- Subverted: "I've giving you one last chance...to kiss my ass, you prick!"
- Double Subverted: Hiro later repents, and tearfully asks Dracone to switch sides one more time.
- Parodied: "You don't have to do this Dracone! You can change! You can surrender!" "Okay that sound nice, I'll do that." "R-really?" "NO." "aw..."
- Hiro and Dracone blurt out their respective offers at the exact same time. "I'm... just going to assume we were both going to say no." "Let's do that."
- Zig Zagged: In the first fight, Dracone gives hiro a chance to join the dark side, in the second, Hiro gives Dracone one last chance, and in the third, Hiro doesn't let dracone repent even as he's begging for his life.
- Averted: Hiro doesn't give Dracone the opportunity to choose to accept his last second chance.
- Enforced:
- It's an attempt by the author to humanise the otherwise unlikable Hiro.
- The end of the series was put to popular vote: the majority voted for Hiro to give Dracone one last chance, so that's what happens.
- Lampshaded: "I've giving you your last chance..."
- Invoked: Hiro isn't sure if he can actually win against the badass Dracone, and so offers him a chance to repent in the vain hope he doesn't have to fight him.
- Exploited: Dracone knew Hiro would offer him a chance to repent, and prepare a speech on exactly why he won't repent, and that it's Hiro who should beg forgiveness.
- Dracone decides to humor Hiro's offer of repentance, knowing full well he can turn on him whenever he feels like it.
- Defied:
- Hiro knows that Dracone is unrepentant and irredeemable and kills him quickly.
- "I know you're not going to repent, so I'll just say "fuck you" and leave."
- Discussed: "You're down to your last strike, Dracone."
- Conversed: "Anyone who's watched the series for a long time knows Dracone isn't going to accept it."
