Basic Trope: Swear words in a Bilingual Bonus.

  • Straight: Bob tells Alice that she "scared the living mierdanote  out of him".
  • Exaggerated:
    • Bob releases a whole Cluster F-Bomb in Spanish and various other languages.
    • The work is for preschoolers and manages to get away with Bob saying a racial slur in another language. Yeah...
  • Downplayed:
    • It's not exactly another language, but the work is from America and has usage of words that are considered swears in England, Canada, and/or Australia such as "shite", "bugger", "wanker", or "bloody".
    • The swear word in another language is something milder such as hell, damn, or crap.
  • Justified:
  • Inverted:
    • Bob uses nice compliments in another language instead.
    • For some reason, Bob says everything but the swear word in another language.
  • Subverted: Bob is about to say "mierda", but suffers a Curse Cut Short.
  • Double Subverted:
  • Parodied: Bob tells Alice "¡Chinga a tu madre, perra!"note  Alice thinks Bob is flattering her.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Nobody swears in other languages.
  • Enforced:
  • Lampshaded: “Just ’cause you say it in Spanish doesn’t mean it’s not a swear…”
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied:
    • "Just say shit like the rest of us if you're gonna swear!"
    • Bob is about to say "mierda", but Alice cuts him off to prevent him from finishing the word.
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: "They actually let Bob say mierda on a G-rated show? Man, the Moral Guardians must be asleep."
  • Implied: What Bob said is unknown, but Alice says that he cursed her out in Spanish.
