Basic Trope: A fleeing group of animals foreshadows danger

  • Straight: Bob sees a bunch of deer running out of the forest and realizes that there is a fire.
  • Exaggerated: Bob sees animals of all types running out of the forest because someone is cooking something.
  • Downplayed: Only one deer runs away.
  • Justified: The deer are scared of fire.
  • Inverted: The deer are suicidal and run towards the fire.
  • Subverted: The deer stay in the forest during the fire...
