Basic Trope: A person tells another person from an opposing side to meet up at a location alone, with a clear implication that it would have an ambush.
- Straight: Emperor Evulz tells Hiro to meet him at Evul Island and tells Hiro not to bring anyone with him, in order to lure him into an ambush. Hiro obliges him, only for Evulz to reveal that he has brought his own army to take down Hiro.
- Exaggerated: Emperor Evulz tells Hiro to meet him at Evul Island, and Evulz himself is standing on the island alone to pretend he hasn't set up an ambush, only to reveal that he has set up a Kill Sat at the outer space to shoot down Hiro.
- Justified: Emperor Evulz believes that Hiro is too innocent to suspect anyone.
- Inverted: Emperor Evulz tells Hiro to bring as many people as he can, and gloats that he will come alone and wipe out all of them on his own.

- It turns out Evulz does fulfill his promise: both Hiro and Evulz are alone.
- It turns out Evulz fulfills his promise and meets Hiro alone, however, Hiro doesn't, as he has brought his entire team to take down Evulz. Needless to say, it ends with a Curb-Stomp Battle.

- However, their men break the promise without their leaders' acknowledgement.
- It turns out to be a fatal mistake, as Evulz plans to take every last one of Hiro's men with him. As Evulz detonates the bombs planted on the island, he mocks Hiros' men for breaking their promise.
- And then Hiro and Evulz order their men to back off so they can initiate an honorable duel.

- Hiro manages to trick Evulz by calling out his hypocrisy of allegedly bringing an army even though it was supposed to be a one-on-one battle.
