Pantheon / The Armory

Go To

The second level of the Vault's floors, alongside the Vehicles Depot, the Armory holds some of the Pantheon's most famous or dangerous weapons, munitions, firearms and the like. Some weapons have respective owners and users, and in the case of the former, may require permission to be displayed for the general public. It should be noted that attempted handling of the weapons without permission will immediately boot the visitor out and put them on probation as the weapons in question still retain their functionality.

Security often use this portion of the Vault as a "testing" ground to see who starts handling the weapons the wrong way, as the collateral damage and loss of lives on the other end of the weapon are to be prevented at any cost. It also shows that anyone who tries to steal any weapons here might have the chance of stealing the other artifacts, hence the security protocols on this level are higher as opposed to the upper floor.

    Lex Luthor's Warsuits
The LexCorp Battlesuit (Lexorian Warsuit, Lexosuit, Sentinel-One, [Superman Variant] Super-Armor)
Lexorian Warsuit
Apokoliptian Warsuit
Kryptonian Warsuit
Super-Armor
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lex_luthor_22.jpg
Modern Warsuit
  • Appearance: A set of Powered Armor varying in size—usually either very bulky or very slim—and generally colored green and purple. Usually has a glowing Power Accumulator in the center of the chest.
  • Class: 3 (high-end versions such as the Lexorian suit may be Class 2; the addition of the Mother Box boosts it to a potential Class 1)
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Museum Check: Approved, with weapons systems disarmed and power sources removed
  • Portfolio: Powered Armor Surrounded by Invisible Deflector Shields, Sometimes Features an "L" Symbol On the Front (the Superman Variant Has An "S")
  • Domains: Armor, Weaponry
  • Owner: Lex Luthor
  • Destroyed by: Superman, Supergirl, Superboy-Prime
  • While his mind is undoubtedly his greatest weapon, Lex Luthor does possess some personal hardware that allows him to be as much of a physical threat as he is a mental one—mostly to Kryptonians. He's invented Power Glovesnote  and Boots which greatly enhance his striking and kicking power and drain the energy of those hit by them so that he can hurt beings much tougher than he is. However, his most signature weapon is undoubtedly the Warsuit, which uses alien technology mixed with Lex's own bleeding-edge designs to make him the physical match for his most hated foe.
  • Lex Luthor has gone through a variety of Warsuits over the years, but his most commonly used one in the modern era was first designed for use during his hunt for The Black Ring energies. While this specific armor was lost after Lex was trapped in the Phantom Zone right before the Flashpoint, he continued to create new variants on it—usually only varying aesthetically in slight changes to certain details like the color of gauntlets—starting with the Forever Evil event and with into his brief membership into the Justice League. Though fluctuating in its power levels, this suit includes some intriguing features, such as being made using a liquid bio-metal that could enfold and solidify around Luthor while becoming compact enough to be stored inside a briefcase, and later upgrades added a wireless connection to his space satellitesnote  and a solar battery that powered the suit instead of Kryptonite—which he later upgraded further by replacing it with a personalized Mother Box from Apokolips, with which he can open Boom Tubes and fire Boom Tube lasers, use spatial reallocation to keep the armor safely tucked away in his wristwatch for emergencies, and... well, as Lex learns more about how it functions, do just about anything.
  • Other famous versions of the Warsuit throughout history include:
    • Built from the lost remnants of superscience on the planet Lexor by the brilliant and psychotic Ukruh for the purposes of annihilating his own race and adapted by Luthor to use against Superman, the Sentinel-One is by far the most powerful and sophisticated iteration that Lex has ever used. Despite its toy-like look, it is capable of surviving exploding planets and fighting Silver Age Kryptonians evenly without any Kryptonite weaponry—whose power levels are generally far greater than their modern counterparts. It was, unfortunately, lost after the Crisis on Infinite Earths. A suit created by LexCorp after the Crisis was modeled after this first armor. However, it was nowhere near as strong and also came with the unfortunate flaw of driving the person who wore it extensively to insanity, so this prototype was scrapped—but not before Lex chose to put it to good use by throwing it at Superman with one of his employees inside. This or another armor modeled after it was later seen being sold on the black market by the Calculator during the Identity Crisis (2004). Luthor eventually arranged to have it returned to him, despite the best efforts of the Teen Titans.
      • The powered armor used by the Lex Luthor of Earth-12 is modeled after this one as well. This particular suit both harnessed Kryptonite energies for the purposes of fighting Superman, and paradoxically helped stave off the cancer that Luthor had ironically received from overexposure to Kryptonite radiation until he was cured of it by Brainiac.
    • In a fit of Kryptonite steroid-induced madness that brought an end to his Presidential term, Lex unveiled a Warsuit that had been provided to him by Darkseid. Among one of his more famous Warsuits for its incredibly bulky appearance, it nonetheless features advanced Apokoliptian technology that allows it to survive assaults from Superman—though not as well as the Lexorian Warsuit—and generators in the right gauntlet's fingers that can produce and discharge Kryptonite energies of various colorsnote  to give him the edge on his most hated foe. Later upgrades and alterations Lex made to this suit made it less bulky, until it was destroyed by Superboy-Prime during the Infinite Crisis.
      • A similar suit was used by the Lex Luthor of Earth-22, but has no known connection to Darkseid or Apokolips and was instead made using upgraded forms of Cyborg's cybernetic prosthetics.
    • In the new iteration of the multiverse created after Flashpoint, Lex would take part in yet another scheme to try to discredit and destroy Superman. As part of this scheme, he confronted Superman using a new set of armor built using reverse-engineered Kryptonian technology. Bulky like the Post-Crisis Warsuit, this suit was especially unique from all other iterations for incorporating an actual physical helmet into its design which provided both protection and anonymity, and because its energy shield was generated inside of the suit instead of projected over it—by detaching the armor's limbs, Lex could shape these shields into sharp blades or other weaponry capable of rending Kryptonian flesh. After his loss in this devastating battle against Superman, this armor was destroyed and Lex was incarcerated in an inescapable prison of his own design.
    • When stranded alone on Apokolips during the Darkseid War, Lex lied to the denizens that he was the hero from Earth who was prophesied to be their savior (naturally, it was actually Superman) and became the God of Apokolips. While leading them in a revolution in the aftermath of the war, he had them create a new set of powered armor with Superman's symbol forged into it. After the death of the Post-Flashpoint Superman, Lex would use this "Super-Armor", adorned with that deceased Superman's cape acquired from the Daily Planet, to try and succeed him as the new protector for Metropolis and Earth. Though seemingly sincere in striving to honor the late Man of Steel and make his sister proud, the compounding issues sparked by the mistrust of the recently emerged Pre-Flashpoint Superman pushed Lex to terminate his partnership with this Superman, and learning that he still embodied the villainous force of Entropy ultimately drove him to abandon the endeavor and, by extension, the Super-Armor. The Super-Armor's current whereabouts are known only to Lex himself.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bfg10000_2.jpg
The BFG 9000 in its newest iteration alongside the BFG-10000.
  • Appearances:
    • DOOM/II: Hell on Earth/3: A big freakin gun. Some say it got the chassis of the Plasma Rifle but retrofitted with larger parts.
    • 2016/Eternal: Has more distinct features, including a larger barrel, visible green plasma, and a miniature reactor that supplies the BFG with plasma.
  • Class 4 (The BFG-10000 gets a Class 3)
  • Alignment: Chaotic Good, though it leans on some neutral territory on certain incarnations.
  • Museum Check: Granted (on the older models, the BFG-10000 is Denied for public viewing except for long-distance viewing)
  • Portfolio: One of the most important weapons of any First Person Shooter, the mainstay weapon alongside the Super-Shotgun, an impossibly amazing ranged weapon even for basic standards, hard to pull off but satisfying when the plasma shot hits, the biggest weapon in the Doom Slayer's arsenal, launches powerful plasma spheres of destruction, the biggest "fuck you" to any demon, even the biggest ones, stands for Big Fucking Gun, the original BFG in all its glory
  • Domains: Weapons, Big Fucking Guns, Plasma, Technology, Demon Killing
  • Sacred to: The Doom Slayer
  • Other users: Dwayne Johnson
  • Unholy to: Any demon the Doom Slayer encounters but especially The Cyberdemon and Tyrants, The Cacodemons, The Archviles, The Doom Hunters and The Marauders
  • Similar items: The Unmaykr
  • Not to be confused with: The Big Friendly Giant
  • Big. Fucking. Gun. Anyone who relishes on gigantic weapons meant to break any demons' day will remember one of the most iconic weapons the Doom Slayer has ever held in his arsenal, the BFG. Huge and destructive is the name of the BFG and solidified itself as an icon of power, anything it fires upon will be left with nothing but gibs and blood, and destruction in its wake. To the demons, they fear this weapon, but the Doom Slayer, this weapon is all he needs to beat the demons back to the depths of hell.
  • This is the original gun itself, in all its demonic killing glory. A must-have for anyone who is a lover of guns and demon slaying. If a sword, or a gun doesn't have enough kick in your rampage, the BFG is that gun for you. One large plasma shot is all it takes to deliver that sweet smell of destruction on that poor target, leaving it in a smoke of a corpse. Pray that the target is not pointed on you. Thankfully it is in the hands of the Doom Slayer, who will gladly aim this to any demon right in front of him and enjoy the gibs that fly across the vicinity.
    • Speaking of the Doom Slayer, there has been an extensive history between its various iterations. Many versions of it has been produced, even from the very beginning when the Doom Slayer was a marine, where he stumbled upon it as Hell was revealed for the first time. Now that he has earned it in his possession, there will almost always be a different version of the BFG, and you can thank the U.A.C for building this technological work of art. In most cases, he will praise the gun, and hug it while calling it the Holy Grail of Firepower, which he isn't wrong though, the thing does a large punch to anything that stands in its way.
  • The BFG was only heard in the realms of the Pantheon by the Goddess Black Rock Shooter, who was the Goddess of Massive Firearms. It wasn't till the Doom Slayer wanted to showcase to her what the BFG really is, and he came in with the very gun itself, loaded and ready to fire. She is very curious in wielding it but the Doom Slayer is not taking any chances giving it to others, especially with lack of knowledge on how to use it.
  • The name of the BFG sparked some questions about its namesake. The obvious and most intended name was Big Fucking Gun, but it has changed in some areas, with the more lenient title being Big Freaking Gun and various titles. Several archives from the Union Aerospace Corporation reveal some of the names it gave for the gun, with the title of Bio Force Gun and Blast Field Generator among the names it was given with. The most widely accepted however are the former two with the latter two being used by scientists who wish to study the gun's capabilities.
  • The demons the Doom Slayer have faced are great in number and their presence in the Pantheon is cropping up to large numbers. While the demons were glad that the Doom Slayer didn't have the BFG, the sudden appearance of it as a treasure lead to huge fear amongst the demons, however some testings later and the BFG, whilst powerful, isn't the gun everyone thought could mow down a demon out of existence, with the Cyberdemon and Marauders being fickle demons the Doom Slayer has faced, so much a single BFG shot isn't enough to kill those bastards. Made worse by the latter, because their Argent Shields can easily block it, angering him further. As mentioned by a certain mortal: "The BFG is absolutely overpowered. But if you're gonna call something the Big Fucking Gun, you better deliver."
    • Oh and by the way, the BFG that was picked up by the Doom Slayer's return? Guess what, that was meant for the Cyberdemon. You heard it right, the U.A.C, seeing that enough cybernetics wasn't enough for the Cyberdemon, decided to mount the BFG on it during testing phase. Be glad that the Cyberdemon did not get it and was (thankfully) smashed by the Slayer.
  • Often than not, the BFG is picked up in the later journey of the Doom Slayer, either when Hell gets really loose, or within hell itself. Doesn't help that taking the BFG itself isn't an easy task to where it is placed, either within hell itself or a very secure part of an U.A.C facility. The Doom Slayer had to practice a few lessons on platforming just to get the thing out of secure containment. But hey, it is worth it as you get one of the biggest and baddest gun in history.
  • The Rock does remember the one instance where he held a variant of the BFG, with blue particles as opposed to green. He also vividly remembers it being called a Bio-Force Gun, though he prefers Big Fucking Gun than the former name. Unfortunately, at that time, he also got infected and lost a majority of its ammo. The Slayer is possibly giving him a second chance in wielding it, though he knows what the Rock is saying that a different version of the BFG exists.
    • Other people outside of Black Rock Shooter and The Rock have taken interest with it, as some may have a BFG but not the BFG. The Tenno was amongst the first to have attempted to test it and were able to wield it efficiently as they had access to their own big weapons, from Opticors to Larkspurs (which were only relegated to Archwings, until they made modules that allowed Archwing use past zero gravity). Others such as Gundam pilots have contemplated to utilizing a BFG into their arsenal with the risk as plasma overloading in some variants and even the Guardians compared it to the Gjallarhorn in terms of raw power.
  • For being one of the most iconic weapons in all of fiction, it has gone through several upgrades and iterations, some even appearing out in an apocalyptic wasteland and others used to earn some frags from other people but the nature of the gun hasn't changed: large, plasma charge and loads of damage.
  • One deity had a question as to whether the BFG can be upgraded to something more akin to a Death Star, one that can destroy anything with a size of a planet or so, and they got an answer, in the form of the BFG-10000. The Union itself is rather confident about this upgrade, as it is powered by the BFG-9000. That's right, you heard it, the BFG-9000 is the source of power for the BFG-10000, a planet-busting superweapon. That is how powerful the base gun is. And for those wondering why it is classified as such, the Slayer used it to shoot a hole into Mars.

    Magiswords
Magiswords
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tumblr_nnzqxywpsh1sxhdxso1_500.jpg
Just a few of the several Magiswords in here, though some are still in use by Vambre and Prohyas
  • Appearances: Various
  • Class Level: 4 on average (though most are 5 and some even reach 3)
  • Alignment: Depends on their wielder, even the sentient ones (though some are explicitly loyal to Prohyas and/or Vambre)
  • Museum Check: Denied
  • Portfolio: Oddly Shaped Sword, Audible Sharpness, Their Names Being Called Out When Used, Awesome, but Impractical (for some), Living Weapon (for some), Sleep-Mode Size When Not In Use, Crippling Over Specialization (With Occasional Usefulness), What Kind of Lame Power Is Heart, Anyway? (for some), Joke Weapon (for most), Lethal Joke Weapon (for some), It Makes Sense in Context (for a few, technically), Super Teamwork Combos
  • Domains: Swords, Magic
  • Main Owners: Prohyas and Vambre Warrior
  • Other Users: Gilgamesh
  • After so many attempts on their Magiswords by several thieves and challengers (mainly the multi-armed Gilgamesh), the Warrior siblings decided to make a request to send most of their Magiswords to the Treasury for safekeeping, and it was shortly granted. That said, they still possess several in their pouches, as they do have at least two copies of some Magiswords for each of them, but it's not as many as they had before.
  • Despite how easy the Warriors make it look, using a Magisword properly (i.e. besides expanding it from its compact form and whacking/slashing with it) takes more than just willing it to work, especially since there are so many kinds with so many varying effects. According to Prohyas, there are three things to know before controlling one: Emotion, Precision, and Concentration.
  • Super Teamwork Combos can be performed with at least two Magiswords, but they usually require at least two individuals (it can even be a sentient Magisword) to work, making dual wielding Magiswords to perform a Combo difficult; Teamwork is in the name, after all. There have been exceptions however, such as Nohyas (delusional enough to believe his hand Hand-bre is sentient enough to qualify), Hoppus (sheer willpower), and even Vambre herself (same as Hoppus). That said, when one hasn't the mental capacity to pull it off, it can lead to unwanted effects like Prohyas can attest to when he once accidentally turned himself into a fish stick with fishbone legs using the Fish Stick Magisword and Fish Head Magisword.
    • As the duo proved with Danelda, Ultra Super Teamwork Combos can be performed with three people. It's theorized that bigger STCs can be pulled off with more participants, but the safest maximum is four, and compatibility across Magiswords and predictability in controlling the result can become a potential issue, as proven when Vambre and Witchy Simone were joined up with two Slugburger employees the former and Prohyas were supposed to train in Magisword use. The result was turning the Slugburger establishment mobile, sentient, and on a rampage.
  • All food-based Magiswords can fire Edible Ammunition. However, while the foodstuffs are delicious to eat, they contain no nutritional or caloric value because they're made of magic. That said, they can still fill the stomach, and Prohyas is still able to benefit from caffeine buzz thanks to the Cuppa Joe Magisword.
  • On top of shooting Seeds of the Undead (effective against both living and undead targets, robbing the latter's powers if they're eaten) and eating pumpkins, putting on Zombie Pumpkin Magisword's eyes (he can regenerate them, so that's no problem for him), either as replacement eyes or as sight implements, allows one to see ghosts.
  • With so many Magiswords of varying usability, there are bound to be absolutely useful ones among them that the Warriors often keep locked away here. Here is a list of Magiswords that are really useful to keep using, but enticing enough for robbers to try and steal them.
    • Anyone who wields the Legendary Knowledge Magisword can steal the knowledge of their opponents by blasting them. However, the knowledge only stays as long as the holder hangs on to the sword.
    • The Mask Magisword can generate cursed masks onto humans (and other similarly-sized beings), sealing their faces. Masks depend on the emotional state of the user and cause the opponent to be affected in the condition (e.g.: if Vambre is too confident when she used the sword on Prohyas, if Prohyas receives the mask, he becomes confident too). Normally, the only way to remove the mask is to be able to make a mask with a facial expression of mindless bliss. People can still be stuck with masks, even if they are dead, but shrinking can make the masks fall. The fired masks can also be jumped like platforms. It also has a special move called Megamask, which lauches a gargantuan version of the mask of the enemy, but it is not known if it has emotional control like the standard masks it shoots.
    • The Homing Device Magisword is loaded with tracking beetles, that when shot will attach to any object and send out a signal. The signal is picked up by the sword which shows how far and close the tracked object is with a displayed meter and beeping sound that becomes even faster the closer you are. The beetles will shrink when attached to an sheathed Magisword. The sword does not create the beetles and they must be loaded back for reuse.
    • The Carnivorous Plant Magisword owned by Prohyas can not only eat all sorts of stuff, its vines can act as whips or allow it to grapple across long distances, and are both prehensile allowing it to grab food too far away for it reach. The original one was wild and lethal and had to be destroyed. Its seed grew into another one, which—thanks to training from his mother—is now loyal to Prohyas.
    • The Taunting Jester Magisword is one of the sentient ones and can speak. It has the ability to control minds, even users, makes victims feel bad and/or entertaining. Fun is the source of its power. Ironically, it speaks like a drill sergeant, forcing its victims into military practices. After some training thanks to her mother, it's now loyal to Vambre.
    • The Dummystein Magisword tells nonstop funny jokes in the style of a standup comedian, but only after stealing the voice of a living being, as Vambre can tell you. It also turns inert when the voice is reclaimed.
    • The Fishstick Magisword can turn its target into a living fish stick, the effect of which remains permenant until dispelled by the Magisword.
    • The Legendary Hyperspace Magisword can create portals which teleport individuals to different locations in a matter of seconds. However, the user must have a specific destination in mind, or else they will be sent to a completely random location. The Magisword can only make three portals a day, after which it cannot be used again until the following day.
    • The Don't Touch That Dial Magisword can temporarily "level up" or "level down" anything depending on the number the wielder sets it to, though it's on a time limit.
    • Once a day, the Legendary Swordmecha Magisword can transform into a giant robot that the wielders can pilot from inside, and can use powers from other Magiswords via special ports. The siblings still keep it around in case the GUAG Robot War Division needs help.
  • In the room is also a specific Sword Magisafe where Magiswords that even they deem absolutely dangerous to use are kept away. A combination lock and a synchronized lock that requires Prohyas, Vambre, and Zombie Pumpkin Magisword to open keeps the following Magiswords in:
    • The Selective Memory Magisword can erase whatever part of someone's memory the wielder desires, and its range is wide enough to cover an entire classroom. Prohyas, who took it from Nohyas, has zero problems keeping this away from use.
    • The Black Hat Magisword shoots a black and red energy blast that can destroy planets.
    • The Singing And Crying Magisword, which looks like Crystal Gem Pearl for some reason, causes people targeted by it to express their deepest emotions through the power of song.
    • The Ghost Magisword can allow its holder (as long as they hold it) to see all ghosts, even those that turn invisible from the naked eye. However, it also puts the wielder in danger of getting possessed by a ghost and it can suck the soul of a living person out of their body if used for too long, as had happened with Vambre. It was only thanks to Zombie Pumpkin Magisword that Prohyas was able to save her from such a fate.
    • The Cursed Garlic Magisword is evil and sentient that can create cursed, foul-smelling garlic that turns the consumer into a hungry monster with a garlic odour. The Warriors had to exorcise it from Hoppus when he fell victim to it. On top of being locked in there, due to its sentience, it's also been tape-silenced.

    The Mortal Blade
The Mortal Blade (Crimson Mortal Blade, Fushigiri/Undying Slayer, Gracious Gift of Tears/Gracious Tears)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mortal_blade.png
  • Appearance: A cursed Ōdachi with a glowing crimson blade.
  • Class Level: 4
  • Alignment: True Neutral as it depends on the wearer's intentions.
  • Museum Check: Denied
  • Portfolio: An old sword with the ability to kill immortal beings, a very rare kind, renders the victims of the blade and its users permanently killed, leaves a reddish, black mist using the Mortal Draw technique, a key tool to removing the Dragon's Heritage
  • Domains: Death, Severance, Mortality, Curses, Purification
  • Owned by: Sekiro/The Wolf
  • Unholy to: The Hall of Draconic Beings, all immortal beings such as Lord English, Nagash, Ra's al Ghul, Grenth
  • Of Interest to: The Slayer of Demons, Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse and Ashen One, the Hunter, Aldia, Wolverine, Jetstream Sam
  • An odachi capable of slaying the undying. Its crimson blade will take the life of any who dares draw it. Without the power of Resurrection, one could not hope to wield this weapon, which allows one to defeat even infested beings. Long concealed within Senpou Temple, the blade is inscribed with its true name: "Gracious Gift of Tears".
  • During the final years of the Sengoku Era of Japan. A one-armed shinobi searched for a cursed blade hidden within the desecrated Senpou Temple of Mt. Kongo for his master. This blade had immense power to clense and kill those who would be described as unkillable, including the user of the blade. This weapon is known as the Mortal Blade, one of the only weapons to exist that can wound undying beings and sever the link to immortality. The blade has managed to slay countless immortals upon usage, including a Headless Ape and the monks residing in the temple. Eventually, the blade would become a vital tool to cleansing his master's immortality as well as his own, ending the bloodline of the Dragon's Heritage and procuring a future of his clan. No one knows what happened to the blade but one can guess that after the severance of immortality, it was lost in time.
  • The weapon's discovery only came to be upon the words of Sekiro, the shinobi who presented himself to the Pantheons. He only spoke little of it and not much else. No one, not even he would expect the blade to reappear, in one of many temples of a fellow samurai, William Adams. The House he resided in reported of a blade found with a red mist covering it. Curious, he would find the blade and attempt contact but hesitated at the last second and contacted the Wolf to take the blade. Thankfully no one got the blade out nor unsheath it, as he described the blade's effect to anyone not like him. As compensation, he gave the Mortal Blade under the Armory, believing that such sword should not be exposed to the public or risk someone's death.
  • The Mortal Blade is a powerful sword, capable of completely killing off those considered to be immortal be it through blood or some other means such as centipedes. There is an issue however as while it can also kill the victims unfortunate enough to die from the blade, unsheathing it will kill the user, hence the people who can effectively wield this weapon are very few. The Wolf's own immortality kept him safe from the unsheathing effects so he has remained harmless upon usage of it. Those that faced him however, would see that death would truly mean the end to their immortality, whether it be those blessed by the Divine Dragon, or those who abandoned the teachings of Buddha and resorted to more infested means.
  • A blade of such effects would truly be feared, especially the vast amount of immortal beings in the Pantheon. Those who treasure their immortality would not pressure or anger the Wolf but the more extreme ones would seek to destroy the weapon to keep their lives in good measure. Security within the Treasury has been secure but to keep it even more so, the blade's location is in a temple, and with it held by the Folding Screen Monkeys to guard the blade once more. If all else fails, Sekiro will pursue and claim the blade when security has been compromised and eliminate the threat.
    • A discovery was found that the Mortal Blade did have a twin blade, called the Black Mortal Blade or kaimon. According to legend, it is a sword that opens the gate to the underworld to those that used it. Accurate as the wielder of the blade, Genichiro Ashina used the blade in search of strength and eventually sacrificed himself with the blade to bring Isshin Ashina back to life. Upon his defeat, the blade disappeared, alongside the original one after drawing Kuro's blood. The news of this has lead to many treasure hunters in the Pantheon to take a search around Ashina Province in light of the other Mortal Blade but no results have been yielded.
In addition to the red Mortal Blade, there exists one that is black in color. The blade's name is "Open Gate", and is said to hold the power to open a gate to the underworld. It is through this power that it creates life. I beseech you, make offerings for the Dragon's Blood...
  • There are rumors of the blade's mysterious origin as the reason for its creation has yet to be revealed, not even the Wolf knows. One of these rumors is that the blade is based off, or perhaps a variation, of the legendary Japanese Crimson Blade of Muramasa. The legend tells of a swordsmith named Sengo Muramasa who was famous for his craftmanship but was heavily ill-tempered and often angry towards anyone. The swords that originated from Muramasa was said to be cursed or wicked, carrying from his anger and often accompanied with bloodlust or empowered by a demon. This may explain the features of the blade, including red mist upon unsheathing and its effects to both the victim and its user as well as its abilities such as the Mortal Draw and an empowered skill of it. Some agree that the Mortal Blade may have been a variation of such blades from the swordsmith, as few deities have any similar swords of such origin.
    • There was a time when Wolverine did wield a Muramasa blade and much like the Mortal Blade, did have sketches of red. However, unlike the blade, it did not kill him when he unsheathed it, instead it corrupted the user the more it was used in battle. While he did abandon such, the Mortal Blade's presence have reminded him of what he did back then when he was wielding the blade and has been talks with X-23 and Captain Marvel to destroy the blade, similar as to what they did to his Muramasa blade. Jetstream Sam also has a blade of similar looks, though it was mistranslated as "Murasama" which got him confused, though his cybernetic implants might not save him should he try his hands on the Mortal Blade.
  • Immortals of any kind have been told of the sword's presence and as such, most have avoided the Great Treasury simply because of this weapon alone. A question did pop up whether or not the effects of the sword would follow or break the Pantheon's status quo. A test with Wolf's permission came when he tried it on Ra's al Ghul and with shock and awe, did the sword's effect work, with Ra's godhood stripped off him. The gods were quick to bring Ra back in place and the test has made him very fearful of the weapon's effects, as the Lazarus Pits cannot protect him from a blade that negates his advantage. The other immortals such as Nagash, Grenth and even Lord English have taken a watch over the blade as they intend to destroy it, not for Grenth though as he awaits his future. There are those who have opposite reactions, they who desperately seek the blade to end their immortal lives. The main seekers are SCP-1440 who being Enemies with Death cannot die naturally and the Five Survivors who want the end their hellish existence. Aldia also counts as while he is immortal, he believes the blade has no effect on him as whatever method he used to his condition could never be undone by any blade.
    • While the effect of the user dying to the blade upon unsheathing has been shown, some wonder what and how did the Wolf survive the blade's existence, some point to his resurrection powers as the sole reason why he still lives even with the blade intact. A paradox came to be when one pondered if immortal users of the blade are truly killed when using it, with some such as the studies with the House of Knowledge came to be explaining that resurrection was the key to him able to use it repeatedly. They intend to test the effect with several deities, The Slayer of Demons, Chosen Undead, Bearer of the Curse, the Hunter and Ashen One as prime candidates for the test due to their ability to come back from death but the test was denied due to the security of it. Time will tell if the House of Knowledge succeeds in their research.
  • The Hall of Draconic Beings was soon alerted of the weapon's addition to the Treasury, hearing the Wolf's story of his usage of the blade against the Divine Dragon to gain the Divine Tears in order to prepare for Immortal Severance. The roars of many dragons were heard upon the sealing of it and some fear that should it be used, the dragons themselves could be in danger, immortality be damned. While the good-hearted dragons believe that Sekiro has no intention to kill off the entire draconic races of old, the others such as Tiamat will do whatever it takes to preserve her kin, and has ordered many of her subordinates to destroy the blade and its wielder.

  • Appearance: A black assault rifle with a wooden stock and a 30-round magazine. Can be upgraded with additional attachments, most notably a low-zoom scope
  • Class 4
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Museum Check: Granted
  • Portfolio: Being a rather large and powerful handheld weapon, especially when compared to contemporary submachine guns, Being much lighter, having a larger magazine capacity, and having a much faster rate of fire than its American counterpart, the BAR, It's blueprints, training manual, and one such example getting stolen at least once by Allied agents, Giving German infantry advantage in a firefight thanks to its capability to deliver huge volumes of automatic fire
  • Domains: Assault Rifles, Germany, Wonderweapons, Firearms, World War II
  • Notable users: Lt. Mike Powell, Sgt. Jack Barnes, and Cpl. Boyd Travers (captured examples), Rudolf von Sturmgeist, Waffen Officers, Waffen Storm Leaders
  • Developed by the Germans as an interim between a full-caliber rifle and a submachine gun, the Sturmgewehr 44 was considered the world's first true assault rifle. Chambered in the 7.92mmx33 kurz round, a shortened variant of the 7.92mmx57 round used by the Karabiner 98 kurz and Gewehr 43 rifles, MG34 and MG42 machine guns, the weapon had better range and stopping power than the 9mm parabellum rounds used by the MP40 submachine gun, while also offering more firepower on the move than the aforementioned bolt-action or semiautomatic service rifles.
    • Originally derived from the Mkb 42 (H) and Mkb 42 (W) prototype weapon designs, the former being produced in limited numbers for trial and testing, the two designs were merged to create the MP43, which early production STG44s were known as. Issuing a number of these weapons to elite German troops on the Eastern and Italian Fronts, the weapon was further streamlined for mass production, and was eventually re-designated the MP44. After Adolf Hitler was shown the weapon and given a live-fire demonstration, the Fuhrer ordered it be re-designated the Sturmgewehr, or STG, 44, meaning "Storm Rifle", or rather, "Assault Rifle".
  • The weapon would then be produced in significant quantities from mid-1944 onwards, being issued mainly to elite German troops, namely elite units such as the Fallschirmjager (German Paratroopers), Waffen-SS Panzer and Panzergrenadier Divisions, and even certain Heer (Regular German Army) infantry divisions, with those stationed within and/or near Germany lucky enough to receive a significant quantity of assault rifles. Sure enough, the weapon proved to be successful and popular amongst German troops. Outnumbered and/or understrength German units deployed to sectors such as Normandy, the Netherlands, the Ardennes, the Siegfried Line, and even Berlin, were able to fight back against numerically superior Allied and Soviet infantry squads armed mainly with bolt-action or semiautomatic rifles and submachine guns.
    • Unsurprisingly, the Allied Forces who encountered this weapon in the field did not ignore it's firepower and potential. Many of them, in fact, would ditch their Thompsons, BARs, and M1 Garands for one of these assault rifles when given the chance. Units like the 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division during the Battle of the Bulge, for example, made sure to steal as many of these assault rifles as possible (alongside a large number of other German small arms like the Kar 98, MP 40, and Panzerschreck) when a number of their men raided a German ammo depot near Bastogne, using these stolen weapons to great effect in the fighting in and around Bastogne during the Christmas of 1944.
    • During the raid on Fort Schmerzen in January 1945, the Sturmgewehr 44's ability to deliver devastating firepower was feared by the OSS. So feared in fact, that Lt. Mike Powell, one of the orchestrators of this raid, was given orders specifically to steal one such assault rifle as well as its blueprints and training manual for analysis. In addition to this, the Lieutenant was also ordered to destroy an entire batch of completed assault rifles in order to delay production and delivery of the weapon to German troops defending Fort Schmerzen. While successful, a number of these weapons would still make it into the hands of a number of Schmerzen's defenders, albeit at a lesser quantity than what the Germans were hoping for.
  • Unlike most examples of German World War II-era weapons that end up in the Pantheon's Great Treasury, this Sturmgewehr 44 was not placed in the museum on the orders of Nazi collaborator Dr. Rene Belloq. Instead, this particular assault rifle was the same one stolen and used by Lt. Mike Powell during the Fort Schmerzen raid, which he had used to great effect against the German defenders of the fort. In addition to the assault rifle itself, the weapon's training manual and blueprints were also put on display. The very same ones that Lt. Powell had taken from the very German weapons plant he destroyed.
    • And, unlike the German tanks found in the Treasury's Vehicles Depot, Belloq nor the Nazis had any need to steal this weapon and it's bluprints/training manual for mass production, due to the fact that they're already producing and issuing significant quantities of the Sturmgewehr 44 to their troops. These examples of the weapon were in fact ascended alongside the very German soldiers that wielded them, namely the Waffen Officers and Waffen Storm Leaders, who were issued the weapon in significant quantities. This in turn gave high-ranking Nazis like Rudolf von Sturmgeist a template to mass produce them from, with Sturmgeist dedicating an amount of his personal fortune to creating dedicated production facilities for the weapon and it's ammunition in the Pantheon.
  • It should be noted that this example of the Sturmgewehr 44 hails from the Medal of Honor universe. However, due to the events of that universe being largely the same as that of most Earth-based timelines, the weapon's depictions even in these alternate timelines is largely the same. For example, the STG44 from the Brothers in Arms universe, wielded by the Heer Infanterie in the Pantheon, functions virtually identical to the ones wielded by their Waffen-SS counterparts (who hail from the aforementioned Medal of Honor universe), even down to using the same ammunition and spare parts.
    • Not all iterations of this assault rifle are completely identical, however. The assault rifles wielded by German soldiers from the Wolfenstein universe, for example, use an upgraded version of the weapon called the Sturmgewehr 46, or as the Allies call it, the Assault Rifle 1946. This weapon uses the same ammunition, but features a number of new features, such as a folding metal grip, and, in the case of some early production models, an alternate burst fire mode rather than a semiautomatic one. This weapon would eventually lead to further development once the Nazis in that universe won their World War II, in the form of the Assault Rifle 1960 and 1961 models, which feature weapon attachments such as scopes and rocket launchers.
      • With Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse, the man responsible for these advanced weapons' development, being in the Pantheon, it was only a matter of time before these advanced variants of the Sturmgewehr 44 appeared in the Pantheon as well. Already having access to existing stocks of the original assault rifle, and his castle compound (which contained several of his advanced tech schematics) currently in the Pantheon, Deathshead was able to produce a limited number of the Model 1946 variant, and began issuing this version of the weapon to elite German units such as his personal commandos, Schmidt's personal HYDRA soldiers, the German Army's Schutzvollstrecker unit, and the Valkyrie Jager (replacing their older Mkb 42 (H) rifles in the process). Plans are made to eventually develop and produce the 1960 and 1961 variants, with prototypes for both weapons currently being developed.
  • Much like in their home universe, shipments of Sturmgewehr 44 rifles have been considered a priority target for both capture and destruction by deities such as Lt. Mike Powell, Cpl. Boyd Travers, and Sgt. Jack Barnes, some of those who actually got to wield the German assault rifle for themselves. In turn, the Germans have made it a priority to produce and issue these weapons en masse, hoping to fully replace the non-sniper variants of the Karabiner 98 bolt-action rifle and supplant the Gewehr 43 as the primary service rifle of the German Army. Unfortunately, delays in production, thanks to both the aforementioned raids on both the factories and ammo storage facilities by Allied soldiers, and air attacks by Allied squadrons like the Battlehawks and their allies like the White Witch Izetta, have been hampering this plan, forcing the Germans to continue using these aforementioned older weapons alongside their newest ones, and causing more than a few logistical hiccups for them.
  • In addition to Powell and Barnes, other deities notable for their use of this assault rifle include: the aforementioned Waffen Officers, the Waffen Storm Leaders, the Ausland SD unit, the Heer Infanterie, and Hauptsturmfuhrer Rudolf von Sturmgeist, who all wielded this assault rifle against Allied soldiers in the field in varying quantities. On the Allied side, these include: Staff Sergeants Matthew Baker and Joseph Hartsock, Sgt. Bill Taylor, Sgt. John Davis, Lt. Karl Fairburne, Capt. Viktor Reznov, and Pvt. Dimitri Petrenko, among others, with them having captured the weapon from fallen German soldiers.
    • A few other deities completely new to the rifle, such as Lt. Col. Arnold Berkman and Sophie, have also taken a liking to this assault rifle after seeing a demonstration of the weapon. Both of them personally wield such weapons when fighting alongside the Nazis against both Izetta and her new allies. The latter, in fact, receives proper firearms training from both Berkman and Wilhelm "Deathshead" Strasse following her resurrection and ascension into the Pantheon, with both men teaching the White Witch on how to handle various German and Allied firearms, with the Sturmgewehr 44 and Deathshead's variants of the assault rifle becoming her preferred weapons, in stark contrast to Izetta's continued usage of Anti-Tank rifles from even before her ascension.

    Wildfire
A Barrel of Wildfire (The Substance, Pig Shit, Pyromancer's Piss)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wildfire.png
A jar of the stuff held by Tyrion
  • Appearance: A flammable, highly volatile liquid created by the Alchemist's Guild
  • Class Level: 4
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Museum Check: Denied
  • Domains: Fire, Weapons Of Mass Destruction
  • Portfolio: Technicolor Fire, The Westerosi Equivalent Of Greek Fire
  • Notable Users Include: King Aerys II Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Cersei Lannister
  • The trump card of the Targaryen Dynasty. As dragons were sorely lacking as the years passed (with the last dragon being a sickly runt and most of them dying out after the Dance of Dragons), this is where wildfire comes in. As stated, this is the Westerosi equivalent of Greek Fire, only it's much, much worse. The only way to extinguish wildfire aside from letting it burn itself out is to smother it with huge quantities of sand. Not even water can douse the flames.
  • In recent history, Wildfire has been used three times. Aerys the Mad used it to burn Rickard Stark alive in his armor (this along with Rhaegar running off with Lyanna Stark ignited Robert's Rebellion). Tyrion Lannister used it to demolish Stannis Baratheon's fleet during the War of the Five Kings. And Cersei Lannister used a hidden cache of the gunk to turn the Great Sept of Baelor into a smoking ruin, killing her enemies inside. It didn't help matters that as wildfire ages, it becomes even more potent.
    • Speaking of the Mad King and his female counterpart, upon finding out that several barrels were locked away here, they both came, demanding that the wildfire be handed over to them. Each time, they were refused. Only when threatened to have wildfire lobbed at their respective temples did Aerys and Cersei back off.
  • WARNING! Highly unstable! Even too much light can set it off. And by the Seven Gods, Aerion Targaryen once drank a cupful of the stuff in an attempt to transform into a dragon. Obviously, he was wrong. The Hall of Draconic Beings laughed at the sheer idiocy of this, though in fairness Aerion was wasted at the time. The draconic deities like to train their fire-breathing to become just as effective as wildfire, as a matter of pride.
  • Generates a baleful green flame, and in its un-ignited state is a glowing green liquid. As the Lich generates green flames, there was a fear that he had access to wildfire naturally. However further analysis shows it lacks the Greek Fire traits of wildfire, and is "merely" green out of radioactivity.
  • The Fire and Heat sub-house tried to argue that, due to their skill with fire, they would be the best to guard it. However they were immediately rejected because they just wanted an excuse to burn things with it, and it'd be the least stable place to put it. Instead, the Earth and Rock sub-house is entrusted with safekeeping it whenever the House of Military and Warfare needs to use it.
  • Of those in that house, Hestia is the only one truly relieved at the rejection. As she represents the Fire of Comfort, it's pretty much the antithesis of what she stands for. By contrast Ragnaros and Surtr were enraged the request to be the guardians of wildfire was denied. They can still purchase the wildfire for a steep cost, but they're still frustrated.
  • The favorite weapon of all pyromaniacs in the pantheon. Garfield Lynns stole a cache of the stuff, and impressively managed to create a flamethrower that could actually wield the stuff without it backfiring horribly. Batman had his work cut out for him to prevent Gotham from burning; he needed Firestorm to intervene and create sand to put it out.
  • The Alchemist's Guild is very determined to make sure the secret of how to make wildfire remains secret with them. Given it's destructive capacity, this might be for the best. This hasn't stopped Roy Mustang from trying to figure out the formula, though whether this is to create a proper counter to the stuff or he believes he can transmute it in case of serious conflict isn't clear.
    • Firelord Ozai is also very interrested in the chemical makeup of wildfire, and seeks to discover if those with a knowledge of firebending, like himself, can affect, wield and bend it to their will. It's likely that Roy Mustang's efforts to understand the formula is to counter Ozai's own efforts.
  • The SCP Foundation is doing whatever they can to prevent SCP-457 from obtaining wildfire out of fear they'll somehow incorporate it into their being.
  • In one scenario, the wildfire stashed for the Battle of Blackwater detonated due to the incompetence of two Baratheon men, which ultimately led to the death of King Joffrey. In another scenario, Tyrion uses it as an impromptu landmine to defend Winterfell from the White Walkers. The final scenario had Tyrion and Bronn use the wildfire not to blow up the Baratheon fleet (as his nephew/rightful heir was leading the charge), but rather the Lannister fleet.

Class 5

    Adamantium
A Sample Of Adamantium
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/adamantium_x2_1.png
A sample of molten adamantium
  • Appearance: A metal alloy with a stainless steel color. In its molten form, it takes a dark grey color

  • Museum Check: Granted
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Unobtanium, Made of Indestructium, Absurdly Sharp Blade
  • Domains: Metal, Durability, Cutting, Invulnerability
  • Users
  • Adamant; it means resilient, tough and durable. Originally seen as an archaic name for a diamond, in various stories it is described as an unbreakable substance, almost supernatural in some cases. In the Marvel universe adamantium is a metal of publicly unknown composition famous for its immense resistance to damage and ability to cut through almost any substance. Perhaps the most well-known usage of adamantium is being bonded to Wolverine's skeleton, making his already formidable bone claws a true force to be reckoned with. Only a few people know the complete formula and it's exceptionally rare. The only consistent rival it has is vibranium, and carbonadium which isn't as strong but is easier to make and has a radioactive boost.
  • The Trope Pantheon keeps who holds the formula for adamantium under lock and key. The sample of adamantium is a kept in its molten state of 1500 degrees Fahrenheit, which some have noted is actually low for metals. Request was made to make a vat for proto-adamantium, but nobody has managed to recreate it. The House of Commerce have made a binding agreement to enforce security of the adamantium's formula because they fear that if deities from the FMA universe know it they will be able to make it much more common and drop its financial value... a fear that would be alleviated when the Court of the Gods added it alongside gold as "substances which aren't allowed to be created through alchemical transmutation, except for very specific governmental circumstances".
  • It's not the only "magic metal" in Marvel; the second most well-known is vibranium, which absorbs kinetic energy. Pretty useful when legal issues prevent you from showcasing adamantium. It also makes a lot of sense since adamantium is a vibranium-steel alloy. DC's closest equivalent might be Nth Metal. The House of Science really wishes that substances like adamantium were a lot easier to come buy because metallurgists working there wish to create alloys and amalgamations of the different Unobtaniums. The closest anyone has been able to make a hybrid unobtanium metal is one sword forged from a mix of Mithril and adamantium, and Gandalf bought it to make sure only the worthy would be allowed to use it.
  • Adamantium typically requires other adamantium to cut or break it, or even harder metals like enchanted uru metal. Alternatively, you could just alchemically manipulate it into a more fragile material like Owen Reece/Molecule Man. It's still hard to come by these so the Black Market still makes an absolute killing off bullets, arrows, blades and other weapons made out of adamantium. However, it does have one major Achilles' Heel; high frequency blades. This is exactly how Wolverine was bested by Raiden.
  • One mortal decided they would put to the test where proto-adamantium ranks in the Unobtanium tier list. His conclusion that proto-adamantium was superior to Mithril, Phrick, Supermandium and mythological adamant/adamantine, with the phrick example being particularly impressive because a container of the stuff was on Alderaan when the Death Star destroyed it and the container remained intact. Palpatine immediately decided afterwards to commission a lightsaber made from proto-adamantium. It hasn't gone anywhere, but he was happy enough with a regular adamantium lightsaber. In spite of everything Wonder Woman's bracelets, at least when made of pure Amazonium, is even better.
  • The secrecy of the formula is nearly airtight, but it doesn't factor in one thing; someone who is smart enough to figure the formula out independently. Someone... like Lex Luthor. And his power suit is in the same part of The Great Treasury, so why not take advantage of that? A combination of Lex's Power Suit's natural abilities and being made of adamantium has made his Battlesuit extremely different for Superman to break. Wily wants it to become an alloy in his Ceramic Titanium to make the Metal Blade even more powerful, but Lex isn't sharing the formula when he could easily make inferior hybrid metals that are still so good compared to normal metals people would burn their 401K up.
  • An attempt was made to recreate the original version of adamantium, proto-adamantium, that can be found in Cap's shield. With the formula lost, a bar of adamantium was put through SCP-914 on the Fine setting. This failed, however it did turn the bar of adamantium into multiple throwing daggers of adamantium. Putting it on Very Fine still kept the substance as regular adamantium, but now it was a cool fluid ball that could be shaped and reshaped by the user into something solid and sharp. Attempts to further refine it were banned by The SCP Foundation, who proceeded further tests with this "Adamantium-VF". Apparently its preferred shape is that of a sickle. Cronus was amused by the reference.
  • For those wondering, SCP-914 might be referencing mythological adamant, or adamantine as some call it. If you're wondering what mighty weapon Cronus used to castrate his father, now you know. Adamantium probably couldn't wound some abstract being like a primordial, but Ouranos doesn't want to see it happen. Solid adamant frames the pillars of Tartarus, and Satan was bound by adamantine chains. The same substances makes up Hell's gate. The fallen one and the Titan are deeply curious as to how Marvel's adamantium stacks up to these celestial metals.
  • Though it is possible to bond to organic material this should only be done in either very minimal amounts or under someone with a decent Healing Factor... and even then it's not advised. Any attempt to give someone who can't regenerate an adamantium skeleton will lead to a Cruel and Unusual Death. One mortal noted even if you could just magically give yourself an adamantium skeleton no problem, if it doesn't allow the bones to "breathe". Even Wolverine sometimes struggles with the metal in him. Father is attempting to take adamantium for himself so he can use it as an indestructible base for an eighth homunculus, likely used the same way that Greed's Ultimate Shield is.
  • Expert roboticists like Dr Eggman have tried to steal adamantium in hopes of making their own indestructible robots, leading to them getting banned from ever getting near the stuff. Ultron is somewhat exempt due to already having an adamantium body, plus he always sneaks some somehow. SKYNET is expressly interested in cracking the code of adamantium and especially proto-adamantium as it seeks to create a Terminator with an adamantium endoskeleton; a pet project it has called "The T-AX". It's worth noting that Eggman's Sonic the Comic self already has access to a comparable metal, Megatel, but he's not sure whether adamantium is better or not. He plans to orchestrate a fight between Shortfuse and Wolverine to prove it.
  • Adamantium is still a form of metal, so it still holds a weakness to Magnetism Manipulation that it can't overcome. Want to know what happened when Wolverine tried going after Magneto? That's right, he almost died. Granted Magneto is incredibly skilled in his magnetic powers so it's not an easy weakness to exploit. Earthbenders can also manipulate metal using tiny, earthy imperfections, however they cannot do the same to highly purified metals like platinum. So yes, Toph could certainly bend Wolverine's adamantium skeleton if she really wanted, but true adamantium like Cap's shield? A no go.

    The DEMONICA
DEMOuntable Next Integrated Capability Armor (DEMONICA)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/demonica_standard.png
The standard gold model worn by the Schwarzwelt Investigational Team
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/black_demonica.png
The black variant worn by Jack's Squad and the Black Samurai
  • Class Level: 5
  • Appearance: A high-tech combat suit that comes in either gold and green, or black and red
  • Museum Check: Denied, later Granted upon Tadano Hitonari's ascension
  • Alignment: True Neutral, as it depends on its wearer
  • Portfolio: Powered Armor, Magic-Technology Compatibility, Field Scanners, Adaptive Armor, Magikarp Power, Modular Adaptability
  • Notable users: Flynn (has gotten his hands on both versions), Tadano Hitonari (all six incarnations)
  • Former Users: Commander Gore, Zelenin, Jimenez
  • Interested Parties: X-COM, most deities from the House of Military and Warfare, General Shepherd, Senator Armstrong, the God-Emperor of Mankind, The Phantom Thieves of Hearts, the Grineer, the Corpus, the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit, Black Ops, SCP Foundation, Global Occult Coalition, Lobotomy Corporation, various demon hunters, those who've commited deicide, and "Cthulhu punchers"
  • An advanced combat suit developed and sponsored by the United Nations, originally intended for all-environment use, which exceeded all expectations when it was shown to be an excellent choice for survival in the chaotic terrain of the Expanse (the Schwarzwelt). Its superior modular programming allows for an unprecedented degree of customization. Its worth was further confirmed when it was later proven capable of communicating with, allowing the user to recruit, and/or taking down demons thanks to the installation of a variant of Akemi Nakajima's Demon Summoning Program. Aside from this, it has scanners capable of detecting Forma, magic and alien presences, incoming hostile encounters, and studying field conditions. Its advanced circuitry augments the capabilities of the wearer, adjusting itself to their combat preferences to maximize effectiveness. All of this makes it a premium choice for baseline and superpowered personnel alike. However, its main weakness is that it requires considerable amounts of use in combat to reach peak efficiency.
  • Externally resembles a Cyberman, who have no comment so far on these suits. There are two known variants: one in mostly black with red details, and another in gold with a green undersuit. While the black suit is more combat-oriented, the gold variant is significantly more powerful. A couple of DEMONICA suits were found, disassembled, in a certain Tokyo by Mikado Samurai Flynn. While still excellent military gear, it appears a botched reverse-engineering job significantly lowered its abilities, removing most of its Adaptive Ability in favor of more conventional armor. Flynn currently seeks to repair the damaged set he owns, and if possible, augment it by using his faithful AI companion Burroughs as the navigational AI for the armor.
  • Several parties in the Pantheon became interested in acquiring DEMONICA technology. Most of the groups in question are military-affiliated deities or groups such as X-COM, most deities from the House of Military and Warfare, General Shepherd, and Senator Armstrong in particular. They intend, for the most part, to mass produce and use them against any and all potential enemies, all of them having been impressed by the suit's aforementioned combat capabilities. Not to mention The Grineer and the Corpus, alongside profiting off of it with the latter. Likewise, the God-Emperor of Mankind wants to make the gold variant standard issue armor for the Imperial Guard, seeing it as the ultimate weapon against Warp incursions (an armor that allows baseline humans to go toe to toe with Physical Gods and enables them to gain control over demons seems like a dream come true) though he wants to see if he can't tweak it so it comes with a gold undersuit too. And maybe add a few skulls for good measure.
    • Interestingly, there one demon who managed to acquire a personalized variant of the gold and green version. Said demon, one Jack Frost, has been training under Sergeant Hartmann. This particular one is different in that he actually passed and survived the Drill Sergeant's Training from Hell. When he finally earned the right to wear the DEMONICA, he became known from then on as Demonee-Ho, and quickly gained a reputation for his 100% success rate during operations in the field.
    • One can also count the Hazardous Environment Combat Unit and the Black Ops among the interested parties. While the former already have the pretty impressive PCV in their arsenal, the DEMONICA's even more advanced capabilities might just give them the edge they need to fight more powerful aliens and monsters that litter the Pantheon. Both the SCP Foundation and the Global Occult Coalition would also be heavily invested in researching the DEMONICA and how they themselves can use it. And while their Agents already use E.G.O. for combat, Lobotomy Corporation is also intrigued with the Demon Summoning Program, at least.
    • As operators of Powered Armor, comparisons have been drawn to Iron Man's own suits, Gordon Freeman's HEV Suit, Master Chief's MJOLNIR armor, Doctor Doom's own armor (as much as he claims it to be beneath him), Lex Luthor's Warsuit, Steel's suit, the Doom Slayer's Preator Suit (though given his general stance against demons…), and so on.
    • And given the Demon Summoning Program DEMONICAs have and everything it can do, all demons, divinities, angels, and supernatural creatures aren't sure what to make of this. At the very least, it's doesn't actually forcibly capture any such beings; it's still up to the user to negotiate with them, and there have been some demons that force themselves into the user's stock. Those who have taken on demons, deities, and/or eldritch beings have also contemplated the use of this program too. Of course, given that SMT demons are split into various "Races" such as Fairy, Haunt, Femme, Night, Megami, Flight, Divine, etc., if there's a type of being that any of them don't wish to associate themselves with, they can just stick to certain Races or explicitly ignore others.
  • With Tadano Hitonari's ascension to the Pantheon (and them being surprised to discover that the DEMONICA was in the Pantheon's Treasury), a change of policy was in consideration in regards to requisitioning and reverse-engineering it. Thus this gave the Grand United Alliances of Good, Law, and Chaos a head start in research. The GUAs of Evil and Destruction, as well as the various Uprisings are now dedicated to capturing the Hitonaris in order to requisition their DEMONICAs for themselves. Other independent forces not among the above who have interest in the suits are trying the same.
  • Because this suit improves by killing enemies, pacifist combatants will have a hard time making it stronger, though they can still use and recruit demons with it. One can still get it stronger by having their summoned demons kill on their behalf, though. The Phantom Thieves of Hearts (including Akechi) have also been seen with DEMONICA suits on occasion, though these are just outfits and nothing more. Some interest has been drawn to obtain real suits for themselves, though there's the whole "kill foes to give it power" thing, but Metaverse Shadows might qualify for that.

    The Dominator
The Dominator Portable Psychological Diagnosis and Suppression System (The Dominator, 45MW.TRG Dominator)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dominator_1.png
In Lethal Eliminator mode
In Destroy Decomposer mode
  • Appearance: Folding heavy assault firearm with modes for the relevant Crime Coefficient
  • Class Level: 5
  • Alignment: True Neutral, various alignments of Lawful (usually) when operated
  • Museum Check: Denied
  • Portfolio: BFG, Bursts People From The Inside Out
  • Domains: Law, Slaughter, Regulation, Enforcement
  • Used by: The Sibyl System (creator and regulator), Akane Tsunemori, Shinya Kogami
  • One of the key pillars of the Sibyl System's dominance over 22nd century Japan, the Dominator Portable Psychological Diagnosis and Suppression System is utilized by the enlisted Inspectors and Enforcers of the MWPSB (Ministry of Welfare's Public Security Bureau) to deal with latent criminals deemed as such by their Psycho-Pass. Many consider the Dominator to be one of the most deadly firearms in the Pantheon. Any registered Enforcer of the MWPSB can attest to that. When the Sibyl System ascended and joined the Grand United Alliance of Law, the Dominator became the standard-issue short-range firearm of its supporters and enforcers. Official policy as set by the Court is to confiscate Dominators on sight and have them stored in the The Great Treasury.
  • The Dominator has four different modes to deal with latent criminals matching the Crime Coefficient. It will only activate in the presence of a noted criminal with the appropriate Crime Coefficient to prevent abuse by officers out of rage or impulse.
    • Under 100: The Dominator will remain locked unless Sibyl or GUAL council leaders permit it, usually in cases involving criminally asymptomatic people like the Joker and Junko Enoshima. Unless circumstances change, it is assumed that the scanned person is innocent and cannot commit any crime.
    • 100-299: The individual is judged a Latent Criminal, regardless of whether or not a crime has actually been committed. The Dominator will switch to "Non-Lethal Paralyzer", which will cause the person to be paralyzed and knocked out by the shot so they can be taken into custody. Depending on the user, this mode can be forcibly overridden and disintegrate the target. However, only Chief Joshu Kasei has been known to perform this on Shusei Kagari for discovering Sibyl's true form.
    • 300+: Anyone above 300 is judged to be a serious threat to society, and should be shot on sight. The Dominator will switch to "Lethal Eliminator" to instantly kill the targeted person. The Dominator can now shoot a huge burst of energy that instantly annihilates any and all organic or inorganic matter within its path. When hit with this energy blast, the target instantly swells and explodes.
    • Other circumstances: The Dominator switches to "Destroy Decomposer" mode, only reserved for heavily-reinforced or inanimate objects such as walls, armor, drones and heavily-armored criminals. This mode can be adjusted as needed depending on the size and durability of the target. The high energy output of this mode means that the Dominator can only fire three Decomposer shots before needing to recharge. However, this mode cannot penetrate high-strength materials such as Adamantium, Vibranium and Nth Metal, meaning that rich criminals such as Mr. Burns are resistant by virtue of being able to afford such protection.
  • When Sibyl first ascended, the TPPD had a field day dealing with MWPSB officers enforcing the law Sibyl's way, leading to at least 10,000 casualties, mostly in the House of Crime and Transgressions, Slaughter and the Dominion of Arkham Asylum. Once the casualties had been accounted for and resurrected by Virtuous, the Court put out an all-points bulletin for these "rogue" officers (mindless drones controlled by Sibyl) to confiscate their Dominators. Most of the captured Dominators are kept under lock and key in the Vault, with orders to Commander Vimes and his force to confiscate on sight. CLASSIFIED! data reveals that a portion of these devices are being loaned out to espionage bodies and forces in the Pantheon as a restricted-use weapon, including to HYDRA (via back channels), SHIELD and the TPPD. These Dominators have been re-programmed to instead work off of a classified database, ensuring that use of its modes are done along more principled lines. No matter, the Sibyl System can easily make more.
  • A newer variant of the Dominator, the Assault Dominator is reserved for use by heavy units of the Templar Order and the the police department's SWAT teams. Essentially identical in function, the Assault Dominator is a much larger rifle that increases its range and power but lacks the Destroy Decomposer mode due to redundancy. Reverse-engineering by Sundowner has produced a military-grade variant of the Assault Dominator that is used by the Alliances in their Forever War. 501st units stationed around the House of Military and Warfare have also been seen with this weapon.
  • Dominators that are in disrepair are also sold on the black market, especially in the House of Crime and Transgressions. Demon's Avenue is a hotspot for these guns, and many criminal organizations, bounty hunters and assassins seek them for their high energy output. Some of these custom Dominators hardly resemble their original counterparts, such as the one belonging to Boba Fett that has carbine rifle parts attached to it. Megamind also has a Lethal Eliminator function on his De-Gun (under "De-Stroy") and in his Brainbots too. The Dark Brotherhood harbors an interest in the Dominators so that can easily send their kills to their Dread Father, Sithis.

    Kanoka Disks
Kanoka Disks
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/great_disks.png
Six example Disks
  • Appearance: Discii with symbols representing areas in Metru Nui
  • Class Level: 5, 4 with enough of them
  • Alignment: Depends on its user
  • Museum Check: Granted, with restrictions
  • Portfolio: Deadly Disc, One Of Many Substitutes For Firearms In The Setting, Various Powers (Freeze, Remove Poison, Shrink, Enlarge, Teleport, Regenerate (inorganics only), Weaken, Reconstitute At Random), Can Be Forged Into Kanohi
  • Domains: Disks, Powers, Weapons, Craft
  • Common Users: most Toa, (but mainly Vakama), The Vahki (formerly), Spheromancer Lea, Lea a.k.a. Axel, Xena, TRON, Lemeza and Lumisa Kosugi, Wendy Koopa, Suwako Moriya
  • Kanoka Disks are tools imbued with powers that are used for protection, technology, and combat by many inhabitants of the Matoran Universe. The technology to develop these disks was invented more than 7,000 years ago in Metru Nui's Ko-Metru Knowledge Towers. Kanoka, named after the Matoran word for "disk," are made from purified Liquid Protodermis, and contain different powers depending on the properties and purity of the Protodermis (what almost everything in the Matoran Universe is made out of) that is used. Kanoka were forged in all areas of the city and were available at central reserve areas or from various traders. They were also made into Kanohi on Metru Nui by Ta-Matoran Mask Makers.
  • Kanoka have 3 digits "printed" on them. The first digit determines its properties while launched (the usual way of using these disks, though throwing them or striking with them in melee is also possible), and represents the Metru in which the Disk was made. The second digit determines its effect upon collision with its target (see further below). The third digit determines the potency of this power, as well as its amount of uses before it loses its power and becomes an ordinary disc.
  • Kanoka can also be forged into Kanohi Masks, though only those made from Kanoka of Power Level 7 or 8 will have powers. Any Kanohi made from Kanoka of Powers Level 6 or lower lose their power and their only use is to keep Matoran able and functional. There are also Level 9 Kanoka, but only six ever existed, and they have since been fused and forged into the Mask of Time.
  • In terms of how the Kanoka came to be in the Pantheon, a special "dispenser" of sorts just showed up in the Treasury one day. As one manager of the Treasury, Whenua was the first to experiment with the device. Upon it ejecting a familiar Disk, he was shocked, and let the rest of the staff and the other Turaga know.
  • After discerning everything that could be known about the dispenser, it was decided to make it available for everybody's use (under restrictions, of course), given that the traditional method of creation is no longer available after Mata Nui's passing in the mortal realm. For reasons pertaining to funding the Treasury, and because they shouldn't come cheap, it's decided that anybody who wants a Kanoka has to pay a considerable fee to "roll" for one random Disk per day, and this "dispenser" will be closed off from use after a set number of customers have been "served". All Toa get a discount (but only one Kanoka like everyone else), while Vakama gets an additional disk for free on top of his discounted Disk.
    • That said, the "dispenser" only deposits up to Power Level 7, the level in which they can be forged into Noble Masks used by Turaga. Level 8 can be made into Great Masks as used by Toa, and are thus deemed too powerful, even with the low odds. And the Level 9 Disks restriction has already been explained.
  • As for Kanohi forging, having been a mask-maker, Vakama is the one to approach for such things. However, he's instructed to only accept Level 7 disks, since those lower will be powerless, and there are easier ways to get masks like that without wasting Kanoka. He can also provide a guide as to what Kanoka to fuse to get certain desired Kanohi.
  • Kanoka have their uses even without being made into Kanohi. Here is a list of their their powers in detail, which depend on each digit, and will be listed as follows:
    • The first digit determines its properties while launched, and most use the user's thoughts to determine what's its target and what's considered an obstacle. Kanoka with "1XX" are stronger, and can knock obstacles out of the way. Kanoka with "2XX" can change direction in mid-air according to the user's thoughts. Kanoka with "3XX" home in on other Kanoka and deflect them from their course while on its way to its target. Given Kanoka are scarce, this is usually not a concern. Kanoka with "4XX" dodge obstacles to get to its target. Kanoka with "5XX" can fly farther than the average Kanoka in proportion to launch velocity. Kanoka with "6XX" return to thrower if diverted from course by any means. Whether or not it triggers its power when diverted is dependent on user thought.
    • The second digit determines its powers upon contact with its target. With the exception of 4, 7, 8, and maybe 2, all effects are temporary. They are as follows:
      • X1X: Reconstitute at Random - Temporarily scrambles the molecules of a target, resulting in a new and unpredictable shape. The scope of the change is tied to the power level of the disk. Can affect both living and non-living targets.
      • X2X: Freeze - Covers a target in a thick coating of solid ice. The toughness of the ice may be tied to the power level of the disk. It's not completely certain due to lack of extensive testing.
      • X3X: Weaken - Reduces the strength of a living or nonliving target. Can be used to bring down structures. The intensity and duration of the effect is tied to the power level of the disk.
      • X4X: Remove Poison - Cures the effects of toxic substances (such as poison or venom) by erasing their presence in a target. Its possible effects on those with poison powers (if it will remove all toxic substances whether or not it's actually harming its target) is yet to be determined.
      • X5X: Enlarge - Temporarily causes a target to grow rapidly. Size is tied to the power level of the disk, with a maximum of sixty feet for any target.
      • X6X: Shrink - Temporarily causes a target to reduce in size rapidly. Size is tied to the power level of the disk, with a minimum of six inches for any target.
      • X7X: Regenerate - Repairs a structure or piece of equipment to its original completed state no matter how much time has passed. Does not work on living targets and will do nothing against them apart from the pain of getting hit by the Kanoka. The extent of damage that can be repaired is tied to the power level of the disk.
      • X8X: Teleport - Causes a target to teleport at a random location. Range of teleportation is tied to the power level of the disk. Works on stasis fields as well. The direction in which the target gets teleported is determined by the user's thoughts.
    • The third digit represents the Power Level of the disk in question, ranging from 1 to 8, and it also determines how many times the disk can be used before its powers are depleted. There were also six that are Power Level 9, but they've since been used up, as explained above regarding the Mask of Time.
  • Kanoka can be fused to make other kinds with different powers, such as Increase Weight, Levitation, Speed, and Flight, all of which are usually incorporated into transports. More potential Kanoka can be found here, and by extension, these can be crafted into their respective Kanohi.
    • In case you're wondering how a Kanoka of Speed, Telekinesis, Water Breathing, and the like would work, striking oneself hard enough with it will do the trick and grant its user that power for a while.
  • There are plenty of questions as to how Kanoka work. Plenty of them are answered here.
    • Regeneration Kanoka don't require all the pieces of a broken item nearby to restore it, nor will it bring all the pieces together. In fact, you can get multiple instances of that item by tapping each piece with the Kanoka, making it ideal for mass production if you know what you're doing.
    • Regeneration Kanoka cannot "recharge" another Kanoka. Its power charge is predetermined by its power level, and that cannot be changed. Once a Kanoka runs out of power, it's useless except as a solid disk.
    • One can merge as many Kanoka as one wants. However, no one in the Matoran race has ever merged Kanoka of differing Power Levels (e.g. a 7 and a 5).
    • Running electrical currents through Kanoka is theoretically possible. As for whether or not currents can activate their powers however, that question is yet to be answered.
    • Getting hit by a Reconstitute at Random Kanoka isn't any more painful than Star Trek transporters are (apart from the Kanoka colliding onto you). It could still be disastrous depending on what materials the Kanoka ends up turning you into, however.
    • If a Regeneration Kanoka is used on a building that has been demolished, rebuilt, then smashed, it will restore the building into its largest form. If the building was built, remodeled, then smashed, the Kanoka will restore the building to its latest form.
  • Due to how few Ta-Metru Mask Makers were in existence, there wasn't exactly a "Research and Development Department" equivalent in Metru Nui. Now that Kanoka are in the Pantheon, there is an R&D now somewhere in the House of Knowledge, though given Level 7 Kanoka are still rare because the dispenser doesn't give them out often enough, and since not all who are lucky enough to receive such are willing to part with them, progress is slow.
  • Besides being used as weapons, Freeze Disks have also been utilized by a few food industries when something needs freezing pronto. Weaken Disks prove helpful with demolition of decrepit buildings, and rocks that need clearing out. Given Levitation, Increase Weight, Flight, and Speed Disks have been used for transports on Metru Nui, similar methods are now being used in the Pantheon in conjunction with their usual systems, though they aren't wholly reliant on them given how few Disks are available for use.
    • Enlarge and Shrink Disks have been considered for turning the tides in Kaiju battles, whether it's upsizing the smaller fighter, or downsizing the larger one.
    • Regeneration Disks are of high value for those involved with repair work (obvious reasons) or forgery (breaking the real thing, then using the disk on the pieces to make multiples), making them popular in the Houses of Craft and Crime.
    • Even "depleted" Disks still have potential uses as raw materials, and analyses are currently being performed to replicate the process. Maybe they can't replicate the power, but protodermis is still valuable. The House of Science in particular wishes to study this material and have requested for depleted Kanoka to be sent to them. If they still have uses left, that's fine too.
  • Being users of rings in battle, the Kanoka have drawn the attention of both Leas (the Spheromancer, and he who also went by the name Axel) and Xena, who all use rings/discs in battle. Other disc-throwers include TRON, Lemeza Kosugi (and his child Lumisa), Wendy Koopa, and Suwako Moriya, and they've all become semi-regular customers.

    The Metal Blade
The Metal Blade

Metal Man attacking with his signature Metal Blades
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1405036540168.jpg
Mega Man firing off several Metal Blades
  • Appearance: A large, devastating razor-edged circular saw blade made of Ceramic Titanium (Ceratanium)
  • Class Level: 5
  • Alignment: Lawful Good If Wielded By Mega Man, Chaotic Evil If Used By Wily's Robots, True Neutral otherwise
  • Museum Check: Denied
  • Domains: Copied Weapons, Overpowered Weapons, Buzzsaws
  • Portfolio: Absurd Cutting Power, Disc-One Nuke, Deadly Disc, Near Game-Breaker, Serrated Blade of Pain, Can Kill Metal Man, Its Original User, In 1-2 Hits
  • Counterparts: Spin Wheel, Wheel Cutter
  • Sacred to: Mega Man, Dr. Wily
  • Notable Users: Dr. Fetus
  • Source of Interest to: The Conductor and DJ Grooves, The Monkeys, The Tenno, battle-hungry deities with abilities to manipulate metal or magnetism
  • Unholy to: Meat Boy, Ryu Hayabusa
  • Deadly against: Wood Man, Bubble Man, Flash Man, Metal Man
  • Having a reputation for being one of the most overpowered weapons in Mega Man's arsenal (which Wiz and Boomstick can concur to), the Metal Blade is the signature weapon of Metal Man. However, due to Wily's hubris (i.e., a design flaw), Metal Man is weak against his own weapon.
  • Aside from being the most powerful weapon, it also has the largest ammo capacity, four blades for a single bar of Weapons Energy. In other words, one can fire this weapon 114 times before running out of ammo.
  • The reason that Wily hasn't given more of his Robot Masters similar weaponry to the Metal Blade was that he can't find a way to avert how destructive it was against his own creations, and has attempted to make versions that don't take down his own Robot Masters so easily, though those creations haven't matched the original power the Metal Blade had.
    • Even Cut Man is confused on how his Rolling Cutter is less efficient and powerful overall despite his scissors also being made of the same material. Then again, Wily did use Cut Man's designs as a reference for Metal Man.
  • Like with a majority of weapons from the classic Mega Man games, it's not as effective against those who've been enemies of Mega Man X in his games, though it's not a No-Sell either. Despite this, the Pantheon would rather see to it that it doesn't get upgraded to actually be a threat to said deities, or else it could get kicked up a class or two.
  • Aside from its general purpose of being a deadly weapon, members of the House of Craft find it convenient to use for construction materials and building, as expected for a weaponized buzzsaw.
  • Remembering the day Mega Man would step into the Smash Tournaments for the first time, Mario shudders for a bit remembering when he was the first of all the others to be on the receiving end of it. On the other hand, Link was more indifferent to it since his shield was capable of blocking the projectile like many others.
  • Special measures have been given to the Hall of Canines so users or anyone wielding the Metal Blade can't go in and throw it after saying "Fetch!" or "Catch!"
  • Ryu Hayabusa once got into a nasty scuffle with Dr. Wily for undisclosed reasons, but upon Wily siccing his Doc Robot on him, the latter would first shoot a barrage of Metal Blades at the ninja, and while he barely dodged them, it managed to leave him standing still shuddering for a few moments before he got back his momentum and swiftly defeated the Doc Robot, sending Wily running. Unknown to everyone else excluding some observant members of the Hall of Dreams and Nightmares, he's had the occasional nightmare where he gets defeated and caught by his older enemies and strapped to a table with a buzzsaw slowly descending down upon him, with him waking up just before the buzzsaw would have shredded at his flesh.
  • Being immune to the weapon, Quick Man may check its exhibit if anyone's tried taking it, primarily to troll the unaware snatcher, which has stopped plenty of other deities that have considered or tried to take the Metal Blade for its power.
  • There are some meta-savvy experts who know how to to use it infinitely by switching to another weapon and back after using three Metal Blades, and it was realized just as people thought it couldn't get anymore overpowered.
  • Somehow, Dr. Fetus managed to obtain the Metal Blade for himself, and during a battle with Bandage Girl, in some unknown space-time anomaly, he would throw these buzzsaws non-stop, and given his affinity for using buzzsaws in general, he'll continue to use the Metal Blade to repeatedly chop up Meat Boy, much to the latter's agony.
  • Both the Conductor and DJ Grooves have decided in it for whenever they get into a rough feud with each other or run into bad trouble. Not to mention that it would lower the spending they would otherwise spend on the buzzsaws they already throw around. Hat Kid is unsure what to think, except that she isn't going to bother stopping them since it's that or normal buzzsaws getting thrown her way if she gets in trouble with them again.
  • Gajeel Redfox is a notable deity that has managed to actually catch some of the Metal Blade projectiles mid-flight. He's even managed to catch one mid-flight with his teeth, though it turns out that ceratanium is harder to bite through than he expected. (He was bored and wanted to imitate Saitama's more iconic sword bite scene.)
  • Mega Man has had rough occasions dealing with some deities who have power to manipulate metal in one way or another due to them not only wanting the Metal Blade for themselves, but also Mega Man himself being made of metal himself. Some examples include Gibril, whose Metallon powers would let her make a much greater mess with the Metal Blades, as well as Carrera of the Sumeragi Swordsmen who is more than willing to utilize them constantly as a weapon for battle. Both of such deities have been rather curious on how fun throwing around a swarm of Metal Blades would be on the battlefield, but luckily for Mega Man, they usually fight each other for it more than him.
  • There was a secret experiment done by members of the GUAC Forbidden Scholars involving attempts to combine the Metal Blade with Krillin's Destructo Disk technique, and while the motives for such a deadly combination were yet to be known it was prematurely stopped when somehow, word of it got out and eventually it was forced to be cancelled out. Neither the Pantheon let alone Krillin himself wants the technique to weaponized through the Metal Blade, so the GUAC has been closely watched, especially if one of their prominent Lab members decide to get their hands on it again.
  • The Monkeys are looking into the Metal Blade for the purpose of using it to pop more bloons. In particular, they want to improve their Blade Shooters (an upgrade path of the Tack Shooter) with these saw blades, interested in its potential to destroy even more bloons. They're primarily excited of the idea of a Super Blade Maelstrom with a fully upgraded and optimized Blade Shooter using the Metal Blade as ammo in particular.
  • Issac Clarke was skeptical as to the insane stopping power of the Metal Blade. Mega Man was more than happy to put it to the test against a screaming horde of Necromorphs. 114 shots later, and Issac is agape over the carnage left in Mega Man's wake. Even the Hive Mind was obliterated under the Blue Bomber's barrage.
  • The Tenno have been interested in reverse-engineering the Metal Blade as they have done with the Miter weaponry that Grineer Eviscerators use, curious for their use in battle, and perhaps to use it on the Grineer themselves to see if it'll hurt them like how the Metal Blade hurt its original user.

    The Portal Gun
The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (The Portal Gun, Portal Device)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/250px_portal_portalgun_9.png
  • Appearance: A small, white handheld gun.
  • Class: 5, can potentially be 4 under certain circumstances
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Museum Check: Granted, albeit while powered off
  • Portfolio: A Gun That Can Create Portals, Used For Mundane Purposes That Made No Sense, Can Only Create Portals On Certain Substances, Can Be Used For Combat
  • Domains: Portals, Tests, Travel
  • Sacred To: Chell, GLaDOS, Cave Johnson
  • Banned From Using: THE COMBINE, The House Of Crime
  • Other Users: The Evil Geniuses, Mario, Henry Stickmin
  • The Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device, better known as The Portal Gun, is quite possible the most well known invention from the infamously incompetent company. Originally designed to be used in showers, Aperture later reworked the device to be used to test their other, more stranger inventions, apparently never thinking about how such a device could revolutionize travel itself should it go public. The device itself is capable of shooting two portals, one blue and one orange, and going through one portal makes you go out the other. It was also capable of picking up small objects, such as Weighted Cubes also used for testing. After the entire facility was killed by the psychotic A.I GLaDOS, she continued using it in her tests with the remaining test subjects, most notoriously the highly determined Chell, who ended up being a massive thorn in her side.
  • Since it's escapades were highly popular, it was only a matter of time before it ended up in The Pantheon's Treasury, and sure enough it was one day donated there and put in the Armory. Many gods initially thought it was Chell's gun, as items currently owned by others weren't uncommon, but as it turns out the same deity had the kahunas to actually travel to Aperture itself and steal one of the extra ones lying around. GLaDOS herself was not happy that some of her property was stolen, but she damn well knew staging a heist on the Treasury was more effort that it was worth and that she still had more, so she let it slide. The ascended inventor of the gun, Cave Johnson, didn't mind at all as long as he was at least credited for it, even offering to give out a recording explaining the history behind the gun itself. The crediting was obliged, but the recording was rejected after it tailed off into an unrelated rant about Black Mesa. And no, Chell couldn't care less about its inclusion: as long as they weren't taking hers, she's fine with it.
  • While it's never been specified by Aperture themselves what is and what isn't conductive for Portals, it didn't take long for The Treasury to find a rough estimate: Seemingly, concrete surfaces such as bricks and, well, concrete work perfectly fine, as do general white surfaces like the ones seen in Aperture itself. However, reflective surfaces like metal and glass are completely unable to produce portals, something that was exploited heavily by both the tests and GLaDOS herself. Of course, this issue can be easily fixed by Conversion Gel, which makes any surface covered by it able to produce Portals. The main ingredient is Moon Dust created from Moon Rocks, which means exactly what you'd think it means, but more on that later.
  • Aperture was at least right about one thing: the device is insanely useful in tests, as its simple but versatile abilities can be applied to numerous different tests, such as seeing how fast one can make an object fall or using it to test the reflexes of its user by opening portals at the right time. As a result, many a researcher has requested to use the gun in their own tests to see how it could help advance The Pantheon. Initially they were rebuked for security reasons, but then the Treasury considered the aforementioned revolutionaries and reluctantly allowed it to be used for testing purposes, albeit while under watch by security to make sure nothing sketchy was going on. Oh, and for good measure, it's recommended to bring along some Long Fall Boots, as people getting injured by falling a great height is a legitimate concern with the gun.
  • While on the surface the Portal Gun doesn't seem like it has many offensive capabilities, what with it primarily being made for transportation and all, some gods have shown it's actually very handy in a combat scenario, as Chell handily demonstrates during her adventures in Aperture. You can drop heavy items onto enemies, use the portals to sneak up on them, reflect ballistic missiles and energy balls back to sender, use it to more accurately hit people with other weapons, and of course just suck the guy up to the moon (again, more on that in a bit). As a result, at least a few break-ins in The Treasury have someone on security grab the gun and use it to take out the burglars, knowing that they'd underestimate a gun that "only" shoots portals.
  • Of course, with the best conductor for portals being gel made of Mood Dust, it indeed means that one can literally just shoot The Moon and it would make a portal to it, bringing alongside an insane amount of suction with it for obvious reasons. This was first discovered when Chell, in a last-ditch effort to defeat a power mad Weatley, she shot the moon and banished him to the vacuum of space. That got the Pantheon thinking about the uses of this feature, and sure enough it's now used as a efficient alternative to regular rockets whenever anyone wants to go to any of the Pantheon's planets floating above. Simply prepare an area and user for the suction of space, shoot a portal somewhere alongside the planet, and boom, instant space travel. Again, usage of this is monitored by Treasury security just to make sure no funny business is abound.
  • As with any telporting device in the Pantheon, under no circumstances should The Combine ever get their hands on the gun. Their biggest goal in The Pantheon is to find a way to create a teleporter big enough to transport the entire Combine fleet to the realm, as their fleet is normally far too slow to simply just travel there. While such technology does exist in The Pantheon, almost everybody has done a damn good job making sure they don't get their hands on it. The possibility of The Combine coming for the gun and reverse-engineering it for their own ends was actually brought up by GLaDOS, as she had experience fighting off some soliders in her home world and even she knew the dangers of them getting it, though she claims that this was for more protectig her own hide than legitimate concern for others. As such, The Treasury has increased their security over the device for this very reason, though some joke that simply hiring Gordon Freeman to watch over it would've been more than enough.
  • Of course, there was a more practical reason for the security for the Portal Gun to be upgraded: as it turns out, a gun that can basically act as a makeshift getaway portal was massivley appealing to the Pantheon's many, many criminals, and as a result just as many have attempted to break into the Armory to steal the gun and go on a stealing spree with it. A few really talented theives have actually managed to snag i, and sure enough it often takes quite a while (alongside quite a few robbed banks and stores) for the perp to be caught and for it to be returned to its rightful place. Interestingly, most gods assumed that highly accomplished theif Carmen Sandiego would want it, but someone actually managed to ask her about it and she casually mentioned that it would probably make heists too easy for her tastes. So at the very least, Carmen isn't interested in stealing it anytime soon.
  • Considering it's place in gaming culture as a whole, The Portal Gun has popped up in quite a number of unexpected locations. Accomplished burglar Henry Stickmin has used one in the past during an attempted thief of a large diamond, though he accidentally got trapped in the classic "put two portals under each other" trick and it ended in a FAIL. Mario actually ended up playing with one during a particularly strange adventure and reportedly still owns one to this day, though he rarely uses it anymore. The Evil Geniuses managed to snag some portal technology when they imported a number of Aperture products, and while they can use it to transport items they mostly use it for their traps to capture any spies sneaking around. Finally, it can be apparently found in Terraria of all places, dropped from The Moon Lord no less. It acts as a transport item that behaves how you'd expect it to act at this point.

    Samurai Jack's Katana
Samurai Jack's Katana (originally the Emperor's Katana)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/jacks_sword.jpg
  • Appearance: A standard katana
  • Class Level: 5
  • Alignment: Lawful Good
  • Museum Check: Granted
  • Portfolio: Made of Good, Forged by the Gods, Hurts Evil Beings, About The Only Thing That Can Hurt And Kill Aku, Cool Sword, Like Cannot Cut Like
  • Domains: Good, Holiness, Swords, Divinity
  • Forged by: Odin, Ra and Rama.
  • Owner: Samurai Jack
  • Bane of: Aku
  • Upon Aku's birth, the Emperor of Japan sought something that could hurt the demon. Odin, Ra and Rama, having fought the Black Mass Aku originated from, helped to forge a katana from divine material and the righteousness in the Emperor's heart. Eventually, the weapon would be passed to his son Jack, as the one thing available that could put an end to the demon once and for all.
  • Designed specifically to hurt evil spiritual beings, which can overcome any regeneration they have. However, it requires enough swiping to put really tough foes down permanently, and can't affect other magically enchanted items. Any being in the pantheon Made of Evil stays the hell away from it, with Melkor wanting to eliminate it. Even if he's strong enough not to be felled by the blade, it'll leave permanent scars like the Silmarills or Fingolfin did to him.
  • Could be seen as the spiritual antithesis of the Anti-Life Equation. While the Anti-Life Equation can only be used for evil purposes, the katana can only be used for good. It cannot harm an innocent or good person, or it'll just bounce off them. Aku tried to kill Jack with it, but it failed miserably.
  • A cousin of sorts to Mjolnir, though the hammer doesn't have the "safety feature" of not harming innocents. They even have Odin involved in their creation and requires worthiness in the user-both the Emperor and Jack had to endow their righteousness in the katana. The user must be pure of heart, as proven when Jack's anger got the better of him and he became temporarily unworthy. One could only wonder what they could do if they were able to wield both.
  • Though it's not supposed to harm innocents, What Measure Is a Non-Human? is in effect as Jack killed or maimed a good-hearted robot when he was infected by Aku. It also cannot harm evil beings if they are of divine nature, like the Minions of Set. While this is a relief to beings like Set himself, good-aligned robots don't have to worry since Jack won't be in any circumstance he needs to use it on them.
  • Merged Zamasu boasted that he could wield the katana and be immune to damage from it, because he's divine, pure and righteous. The katana immediately rejected him because it responds to good purity. Worse for him, because he was half-mortal from the Fusion Dance Jack was able to cut him, though not without his unstable magical immortality letting him live through it.
  • Future Trunks has been allowed to borrow the katana, and has passed the test of being pure enough to use it. Fellow sword wielders Link, Kurt Wagner, Finn the Human, Obi-Wan Kenobi and probably Luke Skywalker are candidates for being able to wield it. You can guess why.
  • Despite its power, Jack could never use it to kill Nyarlathotep(Persona) no matter how strong he becomes. The entity simply cannot die so long as a single human has evil in their heart. Fortunately, if it can't finish someone off, it can be used to seal them away like what was originally done to Aku. Thanks to time travel and being active for fifty years, Jack didn't need to rely on that and utterly decimated the past version of Aku, forever eliminating him from the world.

  • The world of Pokémon is filled with powerful monsters, who've proven both allies and dangers to humans. Throughout the millennia numerous devices have been used to try and command and/or control Pokémon, like the Odd Keystone or Red and Blue Orbs. The modern example of this, giving rise to the term "Pocket Monsters", is the Poké Ball. Developed from Apricorns, Poké Balls are capable of storing any Pokémon in it once weakened, making them the trainer's loyal partner.
  • It has been forbidden to try and use the Poké Ball on any resident of the Trope Pantheon. The one in the pantheon is here to demonstrate one of the most viable items in the Pokémon universe, though gods are permitted to use them on any non-god Pokémon. They can be bought at any Pokémon Center for just 200 Poké Dollarsnote , so the Museum isn't too concerned if it gets stolen.
  • Below the stand of the standard the Poké Ball is a suitcase with the other different models of the Poké Ball. Though more expensive and/or harder to find, they have a variety of additional effects. Some have a better catch rate overall like an Ultra Ball, some depend on certain circumstances like the Net Ball which is better on Water and Bug types. Some have the same catch rate as a normal The Poké Ball but have a bonus effect like the Luxury Ball, which makes Pokémon more friendly faster.
  • What goes on inside the Poké Ball is debated; some say it creates an ideal environment, some say they're in a sort of suspended animation and some say they're just stuck in there. Pokémon in the pantheon have given various answers, but even those that are just stuck in there don't seem to mind as they instinctively curl up into a ball in self-defense. The Digital Personas sub-house has been researching them, and has found it easy to store their own The Poké Ball there.
  • The ultimate Poké Ball is the Master Ball, capable of capturing any Pokémon without fail. However, it's extremely hard to produce and is usually only available to winners of a lottery. The House of Luck and Fortune runs a lottery for a Master Ball, though like with the other the Poké Balls it's forbidden to be used on any resident in the Pantheon.
  • How the Poké Ball came to be is unclear. There are a number of ancient relics similar to The Poké Balls, but as it's now understood there are conflicting accounts of their age. Drayden claims there wasn't any Poké Balls when he was young, but there may be models centuries old. Due to resembling a Poké Ball and originally being colored like a the Poké Ball, people believe Magearna is the prototype, though it is yet to be confirmed. It's wildly believed that Voltorb are born from the Poké Ball.
  • While not its intended purpose, the capture beam of a Pokéball can stun a person for a moment, but aside from that, no ill effects will make themselves apparent, as Jessie of Team Rocket can attest to.
