  • Symbol: A Black Pearl and a Shimmering Pearl.
  • Theme Song: Sacrifice (The Unspeakable Deep, Kraekan Cyclops, Murdiella Mal), Reverence (False Jester, Kraekan Wyrm, Kraekan Dragon Skourzh)
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil

  • Allies: Cthulhu, The Kraken, Deep Sea King, The Old Gods, The Abyssal Fleet, Lunatic Cultist
  • Rivals: Lagiacrus, Plesioth, Duke Fishron, Liopleurodon, the Kaernk, The Meg, Moby Dick, Monstro
  • Enemies: Aquaman, Namor, Rubella, Poseidon, The ascended Shipgirls, Black Cat Mantaray 5-4, O'Bannon, Tashkent, Enterprise, Captain Nemo, Captain Ahab, The Hall of Piracy, The Hunter, Ludwig the Accursed
  • Interests: Rain
  • Opposed by/Opposes: the Halls of Water and Moisture and Aquatic Life
  • You are on a ship that was tasked with delivering a princess to a distant land to secure a marriage alliance between two nations and prevent further war. Along the way said vessel is attacked by marauders during a dark and stormy night. After cutting a path through the deck in the darkness you come face-to-face with a daunting monster of indeterminate origin whose form is illuminated only by the occasional strike of lightning. Fight or fall, the ship is eventually destroyed by the storm and you become little more than flotsam. And yet, you survive, as by some miracle you manage to wash ashore alive and well. Now you find yourself on a mysterious island and the princess is nowhere to be seen. The gigantic beast that was fought in that storm was a Kraekan, seen as ancient demons of the sea that plagued mankind since they first set sail out into the vast oceans, and alongside those who lost their lives at sea there's more of their kind lurking within the depths of the Nameless Island.
  • They were rumored to have been present in the Pantheon for quite a while now, what with their nature as shapeshifters and how easy it is to lump them up with other monsters and aberrations of their caliber. Monsters and demons of the sea are, after all, not an uncommon sight in the Pantheon. Even as some lesser Kraeken were killed and their corpses examined by hunters they were for the most part beneath the gods' notice. Eventually, reports of ships being actively sunk within the waters encompassing the House of Nature, often by suddenly terrible weather, while the likes of Aquaman and even Namor have expressed their concerns over suspicious activity within said seas. Then one day, heralded by a violent tempest, their kind arrived en masse into the Pantheon's seas and coasts, terrorizing anyone unfortunate to come across their path. Among those that were hit the hardest included encampments belonging to the GUAE, GUAL, and GUAC due to being the first to suffer the first wave of attacks. Through a combination of effort spearheaded by Aquaman and Namor and the local authorities these Kraeken were pushed back out into the sea. As always, though, itt would hardly be the last they would heard of them.
  • You may notice that many Kraeken are all terrestrial despite being their strong associations with the ocean. Indeed, it has not gone unnoticed but one supposes it comes with being shapeshifters. When it comes to Kraekan, they can be divided into two categories: Major and Lesser, and the distinction between the two seems to come down to size and power in a given form. Lesser Kraekan that are known to the world include the excrement feasting Retchfeeders, the sadistic and airborne Spear Imps, Vexing Brats (and by extension Fetal Brats), Chest Monster Mimkus, and rock-possessing and golem-like Gravewalkers. As for Major Kraekan...
    • The Unspeakable Deep is a hulking monstrosity. It is a Kraekan at its most common form which shows in the simplicity of its attacks, simply using its sheer bulk to dictate the outcome of battle. These kinds of creatures used to have a common name but fear regarding in accidentally summoning it lead to its moniker of the Unspeakable Deep, or simply the Deep. Its role is reminiscent of the demon known as Vanguard, though its appearance is a dead-ringer for Cthulhu or at the very least his spawn. The Sleeper of R'lyeh has kept in touch with them and the rest of the sea demons.
    • The False Jester is as its title implies: A monstrous imposter of the real jester living on the Nameless Island. As the madman contains the key to venture further into the mysterious island, this Kraekan crafted a form based on him to ensnare and murder those foolish enough to trust it and get close enough for the kill of its rapier. Within the Pantheon's halls and fields the False Jester has ever so slightly adjusted its appearance to resemble other court fools, such as Rubella. Not a flattering imitation, all things considered.
    • A brutish troll covered in urchin spines in appearance, the Kraekan Cyclops is everything you'd expect out of a monster like it. Its axe is called Headtaker, but its sheer size and use in its hands shows it will be taking more than just heads off shoulders. And speaking of its axe, its mere creation tells a story about what's really going on the Cyclops' head, being more than just a brutish predator. The implications are also raised to other members of its kind.
    • The Kraekan Wyrm styles its shape off the archetypal dragon of yore that once lived in the northern mountains and thought to be hunted to extinction for their valuable materials. Yet as this creature proves they live on in some way. It could just be a simple pretending, given their variable form, but perhaps Kraekan as a whole are actually descendants of these once mighty beasts, or at the very least some next line of successors. In any case, it's as deadly as the myths say they are.
    • Dwelling within Mal's Floating Castle is Murdiella Mal, Queen of the Moonless Sky. Insectoid in shape and form, she exists in and out of the natural plane and the one belonging to celestial beings. Thus, her tendrils allow her to manipulate and control the very fabric of Fire and Sky, often manifesting as holy magic. Her existence is anomalous in that she's the only one of her kind to not drop any salt upon her defeat, suggesting more divine origins. This in turn creates some implications between both Kraekan-kind and gods.
    • For as long as men discovered how to sail beyond the safety of their coasts Kraekan Dragon Skourzh has always been a thorn at their side as with the rest of its kind. Dubbed the Lord of Storms, with a trident in hand this colossal draconic monster manipulates the weather to form calamitous tempests that has claimed the lives of innumerable men and women. Those that survive both the weather and its brethren, clinging to whatever is left of their ship, inevitably wash ashore on the Nameless Island to be its ruler's playthings. Its unknown if they and the Kraekan are ever allies, but it is certain they benefit from each other's existence and remain a plague upon mankind. Though bearing similarities with Seath the Scaleless, the Greek God Poseidon notes the similarities shared with him. While their world's sea god was usurped by forces unknown and later forgotten, Poseidon has no intention of sharing that god's fate.
  • As a scourge of the sea, they were bound to come into contact with the Pantheon's other sea monsters. Most of the time it's a generally hostile relationship, presumably as a result of them considering much of the seas as their own territory and tendency to bully those out of them should they try and fight back. Even ones as large as Liopleurodon, Moby Dick, the Meg, and Monstro are fair game, though this really only applies to the Major Kraeken. The only exception to this is the original Kraken, though not many deities can think of a explanation as to why besides being named after it. Such a truth, like the Unspeakable Deep's real name, is lost to the deep, dark sea.
    • When concerning other such terrors, they're willing to be easier to work with though more often than not calling them "allies" is a bit misleading. They're willing to go along with some of Davy Jones and the Deep Sea King's escapades, though they don't necessarily follow them. It seems as though the only ones who are successfully in getting them to properly be apart of their forces are the Old Gods. It might help that in addition to the clout that they have they also command the Faceless Ones who are also tied to the sea and have many different forms as well.
  • As one can imagine they're quite an unpopular bunch. Barring those native to the oceans, seafarers have also come under fire by the Kraeken. Pirates aside, Captain Ahab has had his fair shares of unlucky encounters with these aquatic monsters in his ceaseless vengeance against Moby Dick. Even Captain Nemo, who travels under the sea by submarine, has been assailed by the Kraeken. It doesn't help that Lunatic Cultist, an agent of Cthulhu, has a hand in directing their attacks.
  • The Abyssal Fleet have notably managed to get the Kraeken on the same wavelength. Perhaps they were able to get across the message of overlapping goals? This naturally alarmed the Shipgirls, especially since many of them have quite the close encounters with the various Major Kraekan due to them utilizing their ability to travel from the sea to the Nameless Island and back to full effect by appearing out of nowhere. Atlanta, for instance, was preoccupied with shooting down the Kraekan Wyrm, but was soon forced to turn back against Murdiella Mal's shower of light magic. Their other allies such as Enterprise, O'Bannon, Tashkent, and Black Cat Mantaray 5-4 have also assisted them against the sea demons whenever they could.
  • While his peers in the House of Water And moisture shun these vile beasts, Rain sees them in a more different light. Don't get the Edenian Prince wrong, they're still creatures to be sure, but one that can be useful in his plans of acquiring more power for himself. He believes they can be controlled, and the key of doing so lies with the manipulation of water in some way, a field in which he's already quite adept at. Fatally so. To give the prince in purple some credit, it's not as an insane plan as one might think. Tam In, a prince within the southern nation of Kulka'as, managed to take control of Retchfeeders by sealing their heads within clay masks. Now called Clay Hybrids, they take to a less malevolent (and disgusting) role within the Ziggurat of Dust.
    • The Ancestor has also taken note of the various Kraeken. His pursuits took him into the Cove where he meddled with the likes of the fishfolk that made the place their home, usually when the coin in his coffers ran dry. An infamous tale involved such a deal when he sold of a village lass who was infatuated with him to the lurkers who in the present became the Siren, the Pelagic fish-men's queen... and slave. He also seems to at least be aware of a connection between the Kraeken and a much more sinister power at work, and their purpose beyond just indiscriminately attacking those at sea.
  • Seasoned in the hunting of monsters, even as ones that dip straight into the world of bizarre, the Hunter and Ludwig do not take kindly to the Kraeken's presence in the Pantheon. Strong as they are, they are able to take on the many of the Kraeken, even the major ones, though quelling the entirety of their numbers by themselves is of a different matter. While the Pantheon can't seem to truly shake off these sodden bugbears there is still a good a good amount of effort that works toward it, and one can definitely be sure to see the two Yharnam hunters at the forefront.

    Mordremoth
Mordremoth, God of Deadly Jungles (Elder Dragon of Plant and Mind, Jungle Dragon, Morty)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mordremoth_mouth_p.jpg
  • Greater God, borderline Overdeity
  • Symbol: Tangled thorned vines.
  • Theme Song: Dragon's Stand, Mordremoth Battle, Mouth of Mordremoth
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Portfolio: Big Bad of Heart of Thorns, Covering Lands And Corpses With His Plants And Vines, Elder Dragon, Eldritch Abomination, Evil Sounds Deep, Gigantic Serpentine Physical Form, Green Thumb, Imitating Creatures With Plant Matter, Reptilian And Amphibian Minions, The Jungle Itself, Usage of Parasite Zombies
  • Domains: Dragons, Nature, Mind, Corruption
  • Heralds: The Mordrem
  • Allies: Durathror, Exdeath, Audrey II, Venomancer, Flowey, Ridley, Nurgle
  • Rivals: Zhaitan, Deathwing, Nefarian, Alduin, Acnologia
  • Enemies: Ventari, Grenth, Rexxar, Nathan Drake, Kurama, Shaymin, Treebeard, Venusaur, Malfurion Stormrage, Tarzan, Viridi,Bahamut, Spyro, Dovahkiin, Paarthurnax, Maya Fallegeros, Lord Tirek, Vol'jin, Donkey Kong, Sand King, Tusk, Ornstein and Smough, Malygos, Shub-Niggurath
  • Evil Counterpart to: Ysera
  • Interested In: some of the Monsters
  • Terrifies: Deities made out of or has a lot of magic within them (Such as deified Undertale monsters, Equestrian deities, Xerath, Reinforce Zwei)
  • It was an ominous day when a large jungle appeared in the Pantheon out of nowhere in close proximity to the House of Plants. Curious but cautious, Vol'jin decided to explore the jungle with a bunch of his fellow trolls. Not too long after the expedition began, Vol'jin's group got ambushed by plantlike monsters and humanoids, some killed and some captured by them. Vol'jin ordered the remaining trolls to fall back and escape the jungle while he investigates the last parts alone. After braving poisonous air and fighting dangerous monsters, Vol'jin finally discovered that the jungle is host to a massive jungle dragon, and he managed to learn its name before escaping from the jungle. His friends was relieved to see that he's alright, but he brought news of a new deity, whose name provoked a "Oh, Crap!" reaction from Grenth. Mordremoth, the Elder Dragon of Plant and Mind, has ascended.
    • Ancient, powerful beings of unknown origin, the Elder Dragons awaken to balance magic (it's been estimated that they awaken roughly every 10,000 years) and will consume everything on Tyria and eventually reduce it to a low level of magic before going to slumber once more. The magic will then bleed out to the world, eventually restarting the cycle. Elder Dragons are thus attracted to magic, something that scares deities who're made out of magic.
    • The Maguuma jungle was already a horrible labyrinthine death trap, filled with Demonic Spiders, death by missteps and poison hazes that kills in seconds. Then Mordremoth woke up. Now there's patrolling Mordrem, Mordremfied Demonic Spiders, thorned vines making navigation difficult (there's even tendrils that will attack on sight), and poisonous vines threatening trespassers. And on top of that, Mordremoth IS the jungle.
    • While the Elder Dragons are akin to forces of nature, they still hunger like any mortals. What Elder Dragons feed on, however, is magic. When Lord Tirek heard of that, he tried to use Mordremoth as a source of mana to drain from. For his trouble, he suffered from corruption and an extra-unhealthy dose of Body Horror, and had no choice but to empty himself of mana to save himself. Tirek has since sworn vengeance against Mordremoth for this humiliation.
    • In order for his Mordrem to grow, they need to capture living creatures to starve to death and study. Then when they die, their bodies become fertilizers for plant matter. The matter is then used to grow imitations of the captured creatures. Even strong heroes can be imitated. For this reason, powerful deities are hesitant to fight Mordremoth and his minions, for if they get captured, the Elder Dragon may very well get a massive advantage. Alternately, Mordremoth's plants takes over corpses to provide minions.
  • Of the House of Plants, Mordremoth is the only deity of that house who does not have his temple within it, instead having it located inside his jungle nearby. Speaking of the House of Plants, some of the more villainous plant deities has become his allies, though it's uncertain if they're allies out of respect or out of fear.
  • Lesale Deathbringer the Venomancer practically fell in love with the poison hazes within the jungle, and performed research to see if he could incorporate them into his abilities. While there was some resistance from Mordrem, Lesale made short work of them with his deadly poison. Not in the mood to fight, Mordremoth offered the Venomancer a deal. Lesale helps him out when he needs it, and he gets to research all the jungle poison he wants. Venomancer accepted the offer.
  • With the fall of his dragon champion, Mordremoth is also scouting for a new champion. At the moment his eyes are on Ridley, a dragon who's often second-in-command and used to getting physically changed and drastically so. If the plans works out, the Pantheon might encounter a Mordrem version of Ridley. BE VERY AFRAID.
  • Nathan Drake is very unnerved by the dragon, especially since he had a near-capture experience when he explored the jungle and barely escaped with his life. It doesn't help that Mordremoth's voice sounds like a terrifying and deep version of his own...
  • Rexxar is staying away from Mordremoth's territory after hearing that Mordremoth has made minions out of wyverns and wolves.
  • An unlikely ally showed up in the form of Flowey the Flower. When Flowey offered an alliance with the jungle dragon, Mordremoth stared silently at the flower for five seconds straight before telling him to be gone for wasting his time. However, Flowey warned him that in a few hours, there would be a secret surprise attack north from the jungle. Mordremoth had trouble believing him, but had some Mordrem stationed there just in case. To his surprise, the flower was right and there really was a surprise attack. Now intrigued instead of dismissive, Mordremoth learned about the ability to SAVE from Flowey, and decided that the small and seemingly innocent flower might be worthwhile after all.
  • Many within the Pantheon was surprised to hear that Mordremoth has formed an alliance with Nurgle, of all people, with many assuming that Nurgle's disease and decay would hurt the more nature oriented Mordremoth. As Magnus the Red explained, however, Mordremoth and Nurgle are actually more similar than most would initially think, as both embody nature in their own ways (okay, so one's less obvious about it but still). After all, disease and decay is natural. Not to mention that both can inflict Body Horror on people.
  • The Catachan Devil has apparently decided that Mordremoth's jungle should be its new home, and promptly lived in. Surprisingly, it hasn't been attacked by the Mordrem ever since it moved in. Seems like that Mordremoth has decided that there's no reason to convert it when it can already take care of any possible intruders and thus let his Mordrem pay attention to more important matters on hand.
  • It's been noticed that a good chunk of Mordremoth's minions tend to be saurian. Perhaps that's why he's interested in Tyrantrum and some of the deified monsters, who're certainly reptilian and looks like good material for Mordrem to be formed out of.
  • Mordremoth's corruption also tries to spread to the House of Earth and Metal, seemingly unhindered by the sand and rocks. Its initial invasion point is on the Sand King's desert area, meaning that Crixalis has been working hard lately to keep the corruptive vegetative off his favorite spot on the Pantheon. Vicious sandstorms and earthquakes has become more common on Crixalis' territory as a result.
  • When Ymir the Tusk heard that there's Mordrem Bristlebacks, he immediately dashed to the jungle, erroneously thinking that Mordremoth captured his rival somehow and is making clones out of him, only to find that it's an entirely different kind of Bristleback. Though relieved that he was mistaken, Tusk has become aware through his own experience that Mordremoth poses a genuine threat.
  • As one would expect from the duo, Ornstein and Smough tried to take on Mordremoth. While they did reasonably well against the jungle and the Mordrem, they turned around and fled when they saw just how gigantic Mordremoth's physical avatar is.
  • When Malygos heard of Mordremoth and how the Elder Dragons feeds on magic as a natural cycle of life, Malygos thought that maybe the jungle dragon could be a strong ally since their goals are seemingly similar. That is, until Malygos learned that mass extinctions occur when the Elder Dragons awaken and begins devouring magic, at which point Malygos changed his mind about Mordremoth. After all, it reminded him of how his dragonflight almost went extinct because of Deathwing.
  • Ysera is utterly baffled at the fact that a being like Mordremoth can even exist. Worse, he represents everything wrong about what she stands for (Both Her's and Mordremoth's powers are very similar). Mordemoth on his part is interested in the Dream Weaver and has special plans for Emerald Dream (He wonders particularly if it's connected with the Dream of Dreams somehow) if Ysera tries to do anything funny.

    Surtr
Surtr, God of Setting The World Ablaze (Surtur, Surt, King of the Fire Giants)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/img_3871.JPG
Surtur as depicted in the Marvel Cinematic Universe
  • Greater God
  • Symbol: His flaming sword, Laveteinn
  • Theme Music: the Norse theme of Smite (shared with other Norse folkloric figures who fight on the Battlefield of the Gods)
  • Alignment: Chaotic Evil
  • Portfolio: Our Giants Are Bigger, Evil Is Burning Hot, Ending The World, Having A Kickass Sword, Flaming Sword, Light Is Not Good, Possibly Surviving Ragnarok, Arbiter Of Grim Fate, Kill the God, Hero Killer, Exists To Destroy And Little Else, Large and in Charge, Playing with Fire
  • Domains: Fire, The Apocalypse, Giants, Destruction, Swords
  • Allies: Ragnaros the Firelord, Brand, Fenrir, Apophis, the Lich, Nekron and the Grand United Alliance of Destruction, Aerys II Targaryen, The Grox, Deathwing the Destroyer, the Firebird
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork with: Lucifer
  • Enemies: Every deity from Norse Mythology, especially Thor, Ra, all Marvel Comics deities(and pretty much everyone else) who aren't omnicidal maniacs, the House of Water and Moisture, YHVH, Nurgle, Yveltal, Heatran, Alexstrasza, Leeloo, Finn the Human, Xerneas, Swamp Thing, The Life Entity, Scathach (as Scathach-Skadi)
  • Respects: Beerus, Destruction and Destiny of the Endless
  • Interested in: Kratos, Aleph
  • One of the Nine Realms is Muspelheim, a realm of fire where the fire giants dwell and the first realm to emerge from the primordial void. Ruling them is Surtr(also pronounced Surtur), a Destroyer Deity with a flaming sword. When Ragnarok comes along, he is one of the major players on the side of destruction and the end of all. He will do battle with Freya, and bring forth the flames that will engulf the Earth. And he possesses more than enough strength to make that more than a prophecy.
  • Defined more by the threat he poses than an actual character, Surtr usually waits until Ragnarok is near before taking action. If his Marvel incarnation is any indication, he's rather cordial. And he may have been content to wait where it not for learning of the countless battles in the pantheon between good, evil, law, chaos and machinery. He interprets that as Ragnarok, and that it's time for the clean slate Ragnarok and his flames would bring.
  • Naturally fatalistic, he takes a keen interest in the House of Prophecy. He has a deep respect for Destiny of the Endless due to perceiving himself as an arbiter of fate. Leeloo hates him for representing such an apocalyptic prophecy, having faced off against "Mr. Shadow"/the Evil. The fact that he was destined to destroy Asgard was exploited by Thor for having him take out Hela and Asgard once everyone was evacuated. Thus he destroyed Asgard with only the BigBad as a fatality, defeating the point of his mission.
  • Siding with the Grand United Alliance of Destruction was natural for a being who exists to end the world. Surtr found immediate kinship with Apophis as they have the same function in their faiths-seek the extinction of all life. That similarity is also why Ra considers eliminating him very important. Scarily enough, he feels a kinship with the Lich. The Lich embodies mass extinction and nuclear holocaust, as he does the fiery apocalypse that the Norse foresaw.
  • Given what he is, the majority of deities oppose him. It's also hard for him to muster much hatred for others, but an exception to that would be YHVH. Not because of His morality, but because He represents stagnation in the Fire Giant's eyes-a world in lockstep to Law, not having the freedom to change is completely antithetical to an agent of change like himself. He feels the same about Nurgle's desire to preserve life to the microbial level, as horrible as that can become. His opposition to Law is helped by being one of the three Chaos lieutenants, though he would like to remind Lucifer it's a part-time gig. He does respect the Fallen Angel enough to get along as he's a fellow agent of change.
  • Has a heated alliance with Zamasu, due to the rogue Kaioshin's hypocrisy and narcissism. Like him, Zamasu(specifically Goku Black and Future Zamasu) ushered in the death of the other gods and hope to terminate all other intelligent life. However, Zamasu still holds on to the belief that he is bringing a better world, and thinks the flames Surtr brings would sully the world's beauty. However, like the GUAD, the King of the Fire Giants is far too useful for him to take out gods and mortals that challenge his vision. They've made no bones about trying to kill each other the nanosecond one no longer needs the other.
    • For the time he also works with Mem Aleph as she seeks to effectively destroy the world to spring life anew. Given their different methods, this is a temporary arrangement and like Zamasu will eventually turn on the Fire Giant.
  • A Destroyer Deity, he has a cordial relationship with Destruction of the Endless. Sure, Destruction isn't evil and has retired, but he's Affably Evil enough to respect his old position and seniority. And while not villainous, Beerus is destructive and amoral enough that Surtr can respect him as well. Yveltal, however, doesn't like his evil nature when it comes to destruction.
  • Finn the Human believes he has some sort of relationship with the Fire Kingdom and his ex-girlfriend Fire Princess. Surtr thinks so, believing Fire Elementals and Fire Giants both emerged from the same primal fire at the dawn of time. Finn's experience with the Fire Kingdom and history of opposing evil makes him a Worthy Opponent in Surtr's eyes as well. Though seeking to destroy the world, he's seen to show kindness towards other "life of the flame".
  • Considers himself the Nine Realms counterpart to Ragnaros the Firelord and Brand. As they seek to burn the whole world and are fire elementals, it's natural they'd get along. He gets along with Deathwing the Destroyer and the Firebird for being fiery heralds of the apocalypse as well. Alexstrasza was horrified at another fiery destroyer ascending. Heatran is avoiding Surtr out of disgust for being an evil bringer of fiery death, and the fact Surtr is interested in the Pokemon's destructive potential.
  • Pyromaniacs were very happy to see Surtr ascend. King Aerys wants to test wildfire compared to what Surtr can do, in hopes of finally burning down King's Landing and even Westeros if he feels like it. The Grox wanted Surtr to burn down the world, as it would make it more habitable for them.
  • Interested in Kratos for his ability to destroy the gods, and Aleph for the same reason along with how he managed to slay YHVH. Knowing how they react to being used, this can only end badly for Surtr.
  • In an alternate timeline, rather than bringing about the end of the Age of Gods Surtr instead chose to end the world in it's entirety after deciding that since he'll be dead either way it won't matter. The events of this resulted in a particularly botched variation of Ragnarok in which the world was barely held together by a version of Skadi that had fused with Scathach. This version ended up becoming a Servant for the Crypter Ophelia Phamrsolone, whom he developed an obsession for.

Intermediate Gods

    The Infested
The Technocyte Infestation, Unholy Harbingers of Overgrown Biomass (The Infested, Great Plague)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/infested.png
  • Intermediate Gods overall
  • Symbol: The Orokin symbol wrapped in Infested Biomass
  • Theme Song: Our Disease, Consume Us
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Ever evolving force, Capable of thought and coordination, The Virus, Organic Technology, Relies on numbers, Originally dormant since the Old War, All devouring nano-technology, Mooks weak to fire and gas, Horrifically deforms it's hosts, Generally attack up close but can branch out, Seeks to consume everything, The Great Plague
  • Domains: Nanotechnology, Bio-weaponry, Infestation, Swarms, Horrific Transformation
  • Followers: SIVA
  • Allies: The Zerg and their ascended higher ups, Alex Mercer (for now)
  • Rivals: The Flood
  • Target of interest from: Evilutionary Biologists, the GUAE, the GUAD, Nurgle, Typhus
  • Interested in: Various specimens within the Pantheon
  • Enemies: Anything that gets in their way. The Grineer, The Tenno, Ordis, The Corpus, many good aligned healers and physicians, SCP-049, the GUAG Medical Division, the House of Machinery and Technology and robotic deities in general, Oryx, Isaac Clarke, Master Chief
  • High Priest: The Crimson Biome
  • The Sentients, semi-organic machines once meant to terraform the Tau system, had turned on their Orokin masters. Their ability to adapt to whatever is thrown at them, subvert technology, and self-replicate was too much and their creators were desperate. And in their desperation they utilized the Tenno to combat these renegade machines, but they were not the only options the Orokin used. Enter the Technocyte Plague, an organic and technological plague that twists and shapes whatever living thing it gets a hold of. Shortsightedly, it also went rogue thanks to Sentients' intervention where it started consuming whatever it could, also becoming a problem for the Orokin. It soon contributed to the destruction of the once great empire and had since became hidden until Dr. Tengus thought it was a good idea to release it. Went as well as you would expect. Newly awakened, they would soon begin their goal of assimilating everything into their animalistic yet very much organized Hive Mind.
Revoke the frailities of flesh. Let us in.
    • While they both function the same way, there are two types of the Technocyte. First is the more common one that Dr. Tengus released identifiable by it's red and black coloring with it's more tumor-like growths, actively fusing itself to whatever material is near it and is considerably more uncontrollable. The second is more plant like and natural, akin to material like that of a tree and is slightly more subdued and just twists the material around it. The former is commonly seen throughout the Pantheon, although the latter is starting to pop up every now and then under certain conditions thanks to an incident down below.
  • It began with but a single seedbed of Technocyte, unattended and hidden within the House of Slaughter where it thrived on all forms of corpses and severed body parts. It quickly grew to absurd proportions, eventually overtaking much of the House in its tumors to form the bulk of its forces, eventually manifesting a Phorid to do the heavy lifting with its abilities (Homing Projectile, Healing Factor, etc). While the residents various other deities are sent to deal with the spreading corruption, another spread is reported within the House of Travel possibly as a result of an overtaken ship appearing from seemingly nowhere. Long and hard-fought, they were eventually contained in the House of Slaughter itself and were thought to be exterminated. That was, until another infestation popped up in another part of the House. While the deities this time around were quick to respond they unfortunately weren’t quick enough when they acquired a Pantheonic title for themselves. The Grineer were understandably pissed upon hearing of the Infested's ascension, having to deal with them ever since the aforementioned incident with Dr. Tengus (who blamed it on the Tenno so that the Twin Queens wouldn't off him). The Tenno didn't take it well either, since they had fought them a lot when the Orokin were still around.
    • While various lesser Infested still plague the Pantheon, and are unlikely to go away should they play their cards right and not grab the attention of higher powers that can truly purge them, their primary home is where the first of the Infestation started in the Pantheon. Akin to a ship graveyard, with much of it being covered and surrounded in its signature Meat Moss. It's no surprise how sickly it looks, constantly feeding on the remains within it's respective House and the inside isn't any better. With spore swarms flying from each malignancy and as claustrophobic as you can get, not helped by the roaming Infested or the live specimens embedded within the aforementioned Meat Moss. And it goes down far according to some accounts certainly not helped by the labyrinth-like structures that become more and more Infested to the point where it might as well be a Womb Level. Although many extermination parties go around and keep existing growths around the Pantheon from growing, their temple is cited as a lost cause.
We are countless. Consume us. Be reborn.
  • The Infested have reached out to the Zerg upon first ascending, seeing them as kindred spirits of sorts after catching word of them before their grand entrance in the Pantheon. They have shown interest in the fact that they can pick out favorable traits from other species and have partnered up, obviously to the dismay of onlookers. The same would have been for the Flood, but despite a staggering amount of similarities they share their relationship come off as more competitive than amicable.
    • Some have pointed out the similarities the Technocyte and the Blacklight Virus share, considering how infectious they both are. Collectively, they decided to form a alliance with Alex Mercer, appealing to the potential of they both can have a hand in. He accepted, but like his other allies he plans to transform or consume them once he exhausted their usefulness. Knowing the Infested, they are aware of his possible treachery and would try and do the same. Various measures are taken as to not let either side do this.
  • Universally despised by medical professionals everywhere due to its nature as a virus, never mind the horror of its transformation. Often, when people get Infested it's advised to use blades capable of very clean cuts lest it spreads any further. There is a cure, but it's very hard to come by and many doctors within the Pantheon have gone to work to make a mass producible version. The Infested foresaw this, and have actively attacked whatever facility is making progress on it but with the intervention of the Medical Division a accessible cure may not be so impossible.
We embrace you. Why do you defile us?
    • And speaking of, Isaac Clarke notes that the Infested are like the Necromorphs from his world that gave him immense trouble with. Granted, they're not influenced by a Artifact of Doom and just a really powerful bio-weapon from Precursors, but they're monstrosities all the same. Monstrosities in which he'll destroy no matter what.
Unburden yourself from this mortal coil, Isaac. Join Us.
  • Don't think just because you're not organic means you are not capable of becoming a host. Ever since Alad V got himself infested by meddling with the Plague, he had a hand in their newly awakened ability to take over machinery as evidenced by Coprus Proxies becoming apart of them alongside some Warframes too. This is taken further by the corruption of Cephalon Jordas when the Corpus frigate was overrun and formed into the J3-Golem, a massive monstrosity born from all the crew members combined with parts of the ship itself, though thankfully it was killed before it could get any worse. That said, the Cephalon endured nightmarish realities just like their organic victims which explains their connection to the Sub-House of Fear. They are considered to be The Dreaded to many machine deities upon learning this and the House of Technology takes drastic but necessary measures to ensure existing seedbeds do not grow any further. Even the entirety of the GUAM collectively marked the Infested as their enemy, understanding the danger they pose to machine life as a whole.
    • After 2B and 9S’ encounter and near takeover by Technocyte, Liberion Arcadia has also invested their resources into finding a more accessible cure to the Technocyte Plague and are working closely with the GUAG Medical Division to see through this. LA hasn’t slouched on defending the Pantheon from the Infested, however.
  • Absolutely not recommended to weaponize it, regardless of circumstance. It never. Ever. Ends well. Unfortunately this has not dissuaded people from doing it anyways despite past results. Their existence alone stirred Evilutionary Biologist who jumped at the opportunity to run experiments with them. The GUAE and the GUAD periodically try to utilize it for their purposes with limited success. They have the tendency to break out and make with whatever augmentation they are given (one incident involved them becoming a horrific amalgamate of Technocyte and B.O.W.s with the creature having no confirmation of its elimination). That being said, making weapons out of Infested or integrating them into weaponry is alright so long as the one in question is benign. The Tenno have utilized them before, and there are some from the House of Weapons who want to do the same as them. There's also the fact that the Tenno's Warframes are made of a benign form of Technocyte.
    • Oryx's attention was drawn to the Infested after a few of them overran a certain cavern that ran through the House of Slaughter where the Technocyte seeped into. Hearing the trouble they gave to his allies in the GUAD, he decided to try his hand and tame them. And...it worked. Oryx's ability to Take actually worked since the Infested were still very much organic, even extending to Infested Corpus Proxies. Wanting to see their newfound strength, he ordered them to wreck havoc on the House of Nature. After provoking the House by corrupting the Water and Ice Sub-House along with whatever else they touch, the Taken King was impressed by their prowess and is planning to utilize them more in the future. Not wanting to be consumed, they took to flooding the passages and assimilating whatever Hive they could get their hands on, creating units capable of some degree of Hive Arcana.
      • They were soon rigorously hunted down before they could do any damage, but they have already remembered that form should the need arise. The Infested grew an interest in infesting various species within the Pantheon, having already done many different forms of humanoid and robotic entities. It was time that they expand their horizons, should they manage to get hold of another one. With the Patheonic Wars raging on, it shouldn't be that difficult to, say, snatch a few combatants for themselves...

    Nightmare Moon
Nightmare Moon, Goddess of The Eternal Night (The Mare in the Moon, Nightmare Rarity)

As her brief second coming, Nightmare Rarity
  • Intermediate Goddess
  • Symbol: A moon littered with craters forming a unicorn head.
  • Alignment: Neutral Evil
  • Portfolio: Eternal Night, Twisted Goddess, Sealed Villain, Shapeshifting and Self-Duplication, Product of Jealousy, Darker side of Luna, Really Hammy (though less so than her good side), Bringing About Her Own Downfall, Affably Evil, Alto Villainess, Variable Origins, Fangs Are Evil, Hellish Horse, Repressive, but Efficient

  • Followers: the Children of Nightmare cult, The Kingdom Come!Calcite, Louhi, the Night Lords and the planet of Nostramo, the Starscource, Machestro
  • Allies: Yami, David Zappa, The Grand Duke of Owls, Nightmare, Mr. Scratch
  • Enemies:
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Queen Umbra
  • Hardly had Celestia and Luna ascended to the Pantheon when an unknown god or goddess somehow reawakened Nightmare Moon, Luna's resentful Superpowered Evil Side previously thought destroyed by the Elements of Harmony. There are three current culprit theories going about; Parsee, Bernkastel, and Terumi, though nothing has been proven yet. Laughing wickedly, the dark mare promised to bring upon the Pantheon an era of eternal night before being subdued by the promptly summoned Elements of Harmony. Unfortunately, they failed to function to their full effect and thus Luna is now in the same situation as Sayaka Miki/Oktavia von Seckendorff, her normal self still acting as co-Goddess of Winged Unicorns while her Nightmare Moon personality fills the role of Goddess of Eternal Night.
    • Months later, an unknown god or goddess (it's not known if it's the same one) managed to remove Nightmare Moon from Princess Luna completely... only for it to be plunged into Rarity, turning her into Nightmare's second coming. A fierce skirmish between Nightmare and her allies against Luna, Celestia, the remainder of the Mane Six, Spike, and all of their friends (including some gods whose followers were Equestrians), which eventually became a skirmish between forces in the Grand United Alliances of Good and Evil. Eventually, the Nightmare was purged, and Rarity was saved. Unfortunately, Nightmare Moon was revived by unknown means and provided a new body so she can continue her "crusade" against the Day.
      • As for how that was possible, it's because of the fact that Nightmare Moon has varying origins. One source says she's the product of something possessing Luna, while another says she's a dark part of Luna gone berserk. Either way, she's her own entity now.
  • Nightmare and Maleficent deny any and all connections to each other. The Pantheon is not fooled, though.
  • The Grand Duke of Owls became a fast ally of hers, as they both shared a desire for eternal night, and they eventually joined a group that comprised of themselves, Baldez, her former High Priest Balanar, David Zappa, and Diana, The Bringers of Eternal Night. Yami would eventually replace the Precure villain as co-Big Bad. That said, the other members defer to Nightmare more than him, especially since he doesn't speak, but Nightmare herself is aware of Yami's power.
  • She's aware of the other villains that threaten Equestria, and does oppose some of them too as they threaten ponykind, such as Queen Chrysalis and Tirek.
    • Speaking of the latter, she also found another nuisance by the name of Megan, who doesn't like her for her desires of eternal night, just like the Tirek she faced.
  • Nightmare Moon expresses interest in Utsuho Reiuji. Due to the singular nature of Equestria, she desires her help in comprehending the complexity of stars in other worlds. Utsuho herself, for her part, says she really likes Nightmare Moon's mane.
    • However, once she joined the Sun Quartet, the two of them became enemies. Utsuho still likes her mane, but the tengu gets distracted by Volcarona when she tries to stare into it too long.
    • And then when the Titans of the Sun and Moon ascended during a skirmish between their groups, she's come to despise them as well (especially when they joined the Sun Quartet…and reform it into the Protectors of Night and Day), Helios for his dominion over the Sun, and Selene for being able to wrest the Moon from her control.
    • Still, as someone who has the Moon as her domain, she will oppose anyone who would put it to harm.
  • Some folks (incuding villains) have expressed concerns for her plans to bring forth eternal night, given all the potential consequences for all life on the planet and have suggested contingencies and alternatives like getting crops that can grow in moonlight, make a second moon to replace the sun yet maintains the sun's purpose of granting light and warmth, or even just turning ponies into a nocturnal race so that they'll sleep through Celestia's day as they had through her night as a sense of Irony. Unlike other villains, Nightmare is actually taking these into consideration. After all, she wants her ponies to appreciate the night.
    • Given one of the Bad Futures Starlight Glimmer ended up making, it was rumored that hers wasn't that bad of a place to be in, so she must've done something right.
  • When Necrozma first ascended, it was said that she had more than pleased to hear of another who plunged worlds into eternal darkness. Until its true form proved to do the opposite, which was infuriating for her, to the extent that she has declared it her personal archenemy in the Sub-House of Light and Brightness. The House of Fighting and Combat is gathering popcorn for the inevitable epic clash. Except for her despisal for the Pokémon, none of that is true.
  • She would like to point out that eternal darkness and eternal night aren't one and the same. There is still light in the night, just not as much as in the day. As such, she'll also stand against those who would desire to snuff even the moonlight out.
  • It's true that she also has power over dreams (nightmares, so to speak), but she doesn't tend to focus on that these days. But when she got an invite from Nightmare to join their group, she was eager to plague the Pantheon with nightmares and join others who have the same goal. That said, since the little group was all but already assembled by the time she joined up, she found herself in a low-rung position.
  • Being both incarnations of someone's inner darkness, Nightmare gets along well with Vanitas, even if he might not actually be a case of this.
  • It's true that she's employed the use of Heartless in her battles, but she's more cautious with them than most other villains. After all, she doesn't want to sink her world into eternal darkness, where even moonlight is absent.

    Wulfrik the Wanderer
Wulfrik, Divine Lord of Harsh Northern Climates (Wulfrik the Wanderer, The Eternal Challenger, The Inescapable One, The World Walker. True Everchosen of Chaos, High Marshall of Chaos)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aea63f5588f5e3b477f6c3e661f1236c.jpg

  • Norsca is a dangerous place. Located at the very north of the Old World and bordering the Chaos Wastes, it is home to the Norscans, a collective tribe of barbarians who desire one thing above all else; Battles, the prospect of more and being great warriors. These fierce beings have willingly chosen to heed the desires and temptations of the Chaos Gods, especially Khorne, for the Blood God's philosophy of neverending war and bloodshed was the greatest way of life the Norscans could have wanted. And yet, one of these men was more than daring and willing to not just pledge his allegiance but to also declare himself the greatest warrior who ever lived; Wulfrik the Wanderer.
    • Born into the Sarl tribe, he would prove himself worthy by wandering the Chaos Wastes and took part in the "Battle of Thousand Skulls" against his tribe's rival, the Aeslings, where he defeated them and, upon drinking up to eight meads, declared himself the best warrior ever, that the Chaos Gods couldn't possibly hope to find a better warrior to train than him. His blasphemous declaration did alert the Chaos Gods, who sent a Daemon emissary to have Wulfrik transported to their realm where he would be cursed for eternity in exchange for a mission; to prove to the world that Wulfrik truly is the World's Best Warrior that he made himself out to be. He accepted the mission and his curse, alongside gaining the ability to speak any language and soon gathered a gigantic army of fellow Norscans, beasts, artillery and battle mounts to travel around the globe searching for whatever he could find to fight against. In time, Wulfrik would garner a reputation any other Norscan would dream to have, becoming one of the most formidable and feared beings in the Warhammer World.
  • Like the rest of the Forces of Chaos, Wulfrik took part in the End Times, whereupon descending to Middenheim where Archaon was to prepare for Chaos's ultimate victory, he would personally stumble across Valten, the Chosen of Sigmar. There, the two battled each other fiercely, with each warrior struggling to put one of them down. Ultimately, Valten emerged the victor, but not before Wulfrik declared that Valten would later have an ignominious death before he died, his soul taken by the Chaos Gods to be tortured for eternity as he had failed to demonstrate his ability to be the best warrior.
    • However, with the return of Chaos Forces in a new realm and universe, Wulfrik himself was resurfaced in lieu of being a herald to the Everchosen. However, Wulfrik had other intentions; while he was fine working with Archaon, their end goals clearly differed. Wulfrik had no desire to either destroy or conquer the world and instead sought to travel to a place where bloodshed and carnage were commonplace, a suitable haven for a Norscan. There, in a snowy, mountainous steppe, Wulfrik roared out his intent to the Blood God; have himself be ascended into the Pantheon where he can gain the reputation he needs to make others acknowledge him, in addition to giving him another drive to roam around and find strong beings. Despite his failure and torturing him, Khorne decided to grant the Wanderer's wishes, but at the cost of retaining his curse. He was more than eager to set out and find new warriors to test his strength and determination against.
  • Despite the lessened presence of Chaos and being far more idyllic than the world in which he came from, Wulfrik quickly became accustomed to the Pantheon and has been keen on the aspect of wandering off to places that he has never seen before. It also helped in that this new realm was filled with beings who were ridiculously strong and this only further motivated the Norscans into wanting to engage himself into battles. Wulfrik is no exception; he is more than willing to find someone in the hopes of a glorious fight.
  • Despite their split, Wulfrik does occasionally come to Archaon in times of assistance Unlike the world before, however, the Pantheon was a different experience and considering the Chaos Gods didn't have as much control, they were now more likely to butt heads against one another. Wulfrik is still loyal to the beings he used to worship, especially Khorne (even if they were to eternally torment his soul for failing to live up to his credit) while Archaon has other goals in his mind, even after he served it, only this time, he is free to lash out on his hatred towards the Chaos Gods. Wulfrik is careful not to get himself into a fight against the Everchosen, though he does express some disappointment in Archaon not being willing to embracing his heritage, a fact that pisses him off as Archaon was born from a Daemon-possessed Norscan who went on to rape a peasant from The Empire.
  • Apocalypse was keen about Wulfrik's reputation the moment he heard about it and personally went to greet with him. The First Mutant merely stated that he wasn't in the intent to fight but to see what the World Walker was capable of. Wulfrik demonstrated his skill and strength by killing a giant monster in the Ice and Cold Sub-House, all on his own, an act that impressed En Sabah Nur and made him more eager to learn about Wulfrik. The Norscan leader accepted the gesture, becoming one of the few non-mutants that Apocalypse has openly respected as his drive to prove himself the World's Best Warrior fits in very well with Apocalypse's philosophy of "Survival of the Fittest".
    • In general, the House of Military and Warfare was nothing short of ideal for Wulfrik. If there was any place where would want to take a rest, it would be there. He would often scour around the House looking for fights and challenges and registering what he can learn and how to analyze his future opponent's moves and techniques. This was something Apocalypse appreciated, for while Wulfrik looked like a barbarian, he was not one anyone could call one-track minded. When you've spent almost the entirety of your life fighting and travelling for hundreds of years, you'd know a lot.
  • Wulfrik was also met up by Ares and Esdeath. The former saw the World Walker as a worthy fighter and representative of the will to endure and to engage himself in conflicts and the latter finds intrigue in how Wulfrik, like herself, was a warrior who was raised in an icy cold settlement and worked themselves up to be among the strongest of their kind. Wulfrik himself respects their commitment to war and battle but has affirmed that at the end of the day, he would favour Khorne over any other gods and that unlike Esdeath who takes to serving Prime Minister Honest, who's an embodiment of what Khorne despises, he prefers to take his own initiative. Esdeath personally feels as if Wulfrik makes a valid point about Honest being pathetic, but this isn't stopping her from working with the GUAC and the High Command. At least Wulfrik admits that he can find some respectable camaraderie with Ares and Esdeath at the end of the day.
  • He has the ability to speak any language that is recognized in the Pantheon. It came with the curse that was bought onto Wulfrik and it can only be done if Wulfrik has to initiate a battle against someone. When challenging against someone whose language he doesn't speak, Wulfrik automatically changes his words to their native tongue and throws out a volley of insults and slanders, hoping to piss them off enough to start a fight against him. Naturally, it works for the most part, but Wulfrik tends to only use his omnilingual tongue against foes that he deems a challenge.
  • An avid hunter of monsters, Wulfrik is known for being a frequent visitor of the Houses of Beasts and Fauna and Otherness. While many dread of his reputation, let alone his presence, Wulfrik doesn't really pay too much attention towards them. He does, however, bring along a collection of Skin Wolves, savage feral lycanthropes and Chaos War Mammoths, woolly mammoths mutated by the corruption of Chaos and both serve as formidable beasts of battle. Both are treated very cautiously by the Canines and Prehistoric Beasts Sub-House respectively, neither of which are appreciative of Wulfrik for bringing along a couple of vicious beasts that can potentially overwhelm them if guided by adequate leadership from someone like the World Walker.
    • The Monster Hunters were surprised by what Wulfrik was capable of when it came down to hunting strong monsters and for having a trend of slaying them single-handedly. Normally, they would have gotten along, but Wulfrik's ties to Chaos ruins that notion and that he's just more interested in proving himself a fighter. He sees the Monster Hunters as skilful hunters (if them being able to hunt down the Deviljho, Nergigante and Fatalis is one thing), but Wulfrik asserts that he will do a better job at taking them down than they could. The Monster Hunters are advised not to challenge Wulfrik directly, due to his credibility of being a vicious and successful fighter and not wanting to risk an entire army raze them down, but do want to find a way to stop him from causing too many casualties.
  • In a few occasions, Wulfrik would attract the attention of a fellow fighter who seeks nothing more than to trade blows against one another. One of them was Nosferatu Zodd, who was ecstatic to duel against the World Walker. In fact, there was no need for Wulfrik to insult Zodd; they simply clashed their blades until Wulfrik landed a good hit, prompting Zodd to morph into his Apostle form. In stark contrast to being terrified, Wulfrik eagerly awaited a moment like this and battled for what seemed like hours. Eventually, they decided on a stalemate; Zodd didn't want to kill his opponent upon realising that Wulfrik would have his soul tortured, an act that would leave Zodd rather bored. Seeing that the two enjoyed bloodshed and a good battle, they called upon a truce, with the two departing as rivals who wish to settle another score at some point.
    • Among other beings that Wulfrik fought included Sun Wukong and Galacta Knight after he heard from word of mouth that both of them were formidable warriors. Despite the two of them being extremely powerful, Wulfrik was able to figure a way to even the fighting odds and tie against them. He also caught the attention of Son Goku, which excited Wulfrik as the Saiyin warrior was notable representative of the Pantheon and wanted to see what a Super Saiyan was capable of. Wulfrik fought Goku and won... because the latter decided to forfeit after trading some blows. He figured that Wulfrik, despite his evil nature seeks a good challenge most of the time, plus Goku didn't like the whole "I'm cursed to be tortured if I lose" prospect. Wulfrik was annoyed by Goku's gesture, if mainly because he wanted to see what Super Saiyan Blue and Ultra Instinct were capable of (which he didn't).
    • His boasts of being the best warrior did not go unnoticed for Madara Uchiha, who felt that his reputation should be challenged personally to see if his words actually meant something. The two battled viciously, with Madara slightly acknowledging Wulfrik as a strong foe and for not relying on overblown gimmicks (oddly enough, coming from someone like him). They eventually settled for a draw, with Madara promising that he would exert more of his power, which Wulfrik waits for in the near future. Meanwhile, Shao Khan respects the World Walker's brutality and penchant for butchering his foes, seeking to invite him over in a Mortal Kombat tournament at some point. Though at the same time, Shao is also thinking of getting himself stronger, knowing of just how determined and capable Wulfrik is in battle.
    • Two beings from the world of Tamriel crossed paths with Hircine at one point. The first one was the Dovahkiin, who happened to meet the World Walker by chance. The two exchanged some attacks, where to the Dragonborn's surprise, Wulfrik was able to speak the Dovah language, thanks to his curse. Some wondered and feared if Wulfrik could be capable of using the Thu'um, though he hasn't said anything on the matter. The other one, Hircine, deliberately sought out the World Walker and wanted to test his strength. It turned out that Wulfrik was indeed a capable, if highly dangerous warrior that he would like to face off again one day. Wulfrik himself anticipates the Dragonborn and the Daedrix Prince of the Hunt, thinking that killing them would be of great service to the Chaos Gods and had come to appreciate their grit, skill and power.
  • Wulfrik expressed some curiosity upon discovering Northern Westeros, a land that very few dates to enter. But given what the Norscan were, that didn't the World Walker or his army in any way, so he proceeded to do so anyway. Unsurprisingly, he became enemies with Ned Stark and Jon Snow, given that the Norscan's barbaric nature was opposed to what the Stark Family wanted to represent and uphold. Not to mention how Wulfrik's army was composed of demonic beings that may be just as dangerous as the Night Walkers, hence much of Westeros took to preparing themselves for a potential Norscan invasion.
    • Speaking of Night Walkers, Wulfrik doesn't really see them in high regard, other than just creatures for him and his army to hunt down on their spare time. The Night's King could have been a Worthy Opponent, but his ambition to destroy all was something Wulfrik wasn't going to let happen and that trying to insult him didn't do much to rile him up. They fought on one occasion until they were separated by a sudden avalanche, much to Wulfrik's frustration, who now seeks to finish the fight someday, a feeling that the Night's King doesn't reciprocate. And despite both being barbaric in a lot of ways, Wulfrik has no respect for Ramsay Bolton; both have tortured others, but Wulfrik is a staunch fighter who will keep fighting until he dies. Ramsay is a Dirty Coward, an aspect that Khorne sees as a massive insult.
  • Due to his warmongering nature and the brutality of his fellow army, many don't seem to be fond of Wulfrik in any sense. One of them happens to be Suzu Houjou, a Japanese survivor of World War II, who simply prefers to lead a normal life. She personally sees Wulfrik as a hopeless being for choosing to be cursed by the Chaos Gods and sees his raids and battles as pointless as she believes that all Wulfrik is doing is giving himself an ego-boost. Wulfrik himself doesn't care for what Suzubhas to say towards him but leaves her alone as she is a defenceless being and thus not worth attacking. After all, Khorne favours victims who can fight back.
  • Despite his inherent psychological nature for desiring bloody battles, Wulfrik and the Norscans do not get along with Abhorash and the Blood Dragon vampires. Both races waste no time trying to kill one another and the Blood Dragons aren't going to tolerate anyone who willingly follows the Chaos Gods, especially given that they and the Forces of Chaos were who destroyed their world. The Norscans just see the Blood Dragons as bitter rivals, though they tend to think that most of the animosity is coming from the vampires than them. As for everyone else, they'd rather not care, instead deciding that a feud between marching warlike barbarians and a knight of bloodthirsty vampires should be kept to themselves. Some in the Pantheon insist on keeping their conflict on check in case it gets way too out of hand.
  • At his friendliest (if it can even be said), Wulfrik would attend the House of Food in the Alcohol Sub-House to dine himself with mead. He's reported to drink up to about 8 bottles of mead in a single day and would often boast about what a great warrior he is and tries to be as chummy and approachable as he can. Still, given who he is, most people would rather leave than dare to even be 20 feet near him. Additionally, a rule has been set for anyone to never dare challenge the World Walker. It is not going to end well for those who are foolish enough to even think of standing up to him, that is unless you have the power to back it up.
  • An Alternate Universe of him...caused quite a stir to put in mildly. Emerging from the Total War: Warhammer, most other Chaos deities were shocked to see an alternate version of Wulfrik wearing the crown of the Everchosen. As it turns out, Wulfrik is such a powerful champion of Chaos, he has the potential to usurp Archaeon's status of the Everchosen. The sight of this caused Archaeon to have a massive meltdown, and while it's uncertain how Wulfrik will respond to this revelation, many are dreading a massive civil war between the two champions followers.
"We seek the monsters that you fear the most. We chase the nightmares that haunt your cowardly dreams. The deadlier the prey, the more we exalt in the hunt, the more we honor our gods. This harsh land breeds the savage... and we revel in it. The Old World calls, ripe for our taking. We fought monsters... and we became them!"

Lesser Gods

    ABZU Diver
The Diver, Goddess of Awesome Underwater Worlds
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/abzudiver.png
  • Lesser Goddess
  • Symbol: The collectible shells
  • Theme Song: "To Know, Water"
  • Alignment: Neutral Good
  • Portfolio: Awesome Underwater World, Underwater Ruins, Green Aesop, Golden Super Mode, Nature-Loving Robot
  • Domains: The Sea, Exploration, Adventure, Ecology
  • Herald: The Great White Shark
  • Allies: House of Aquatic Life (especially the Orca), The Robed Figure, Aquaman, Ariel, King Triton, Melody, Mermaid Princesses, Kyogre, Archie, Marlin, Dory, WALL-E and EVE, House of Nature Preservers
  • Enemies: Mr. Burns
  • Tolerated by: Bruce
  • Complicated Relations: Captain Nemo
  • The Diver is a robotic being whose origins are steeped in mystery. In her world, an ancient civilization thrived after finding a way of harnessing a power from the sea, and they built many beautiful things. The Diver may or may not be a leftover creation of theirs, or perhaps of their descendants, but either way, that civilization eventually perished, presumably from abusing their resources, and left the ocean to the marine life once more. The Diver somehow activated and took upon herself the task of restoring life to the sea and getting rid of the harmful remains of the previous dwellers.
  • With the unexpected help of a Great White Shark, the Diver ultimately succeeded in restoring the ocean to its natural beauty and making it full of life. After that, the Diver and the Great White went exploring elsewhere far away and stumbled upon the House of Water and Moisture, which was being badly polluted by Mr. Burns' industrial waste. The Diver and the Great White teamed up with several other water-dwelling deities and got to work in righting things. The House's waters were eventually cleared and Mr. Burns humiliated as the Diver used her powers to destroy part of his industry, with the Great White dealing with anyone who threatened her. Many Houses, especially the aquatic ones and the Nature Preservers, praised her deeds and invited her to become a god and keep watch over the oceans in all the multiverse, with the Great White as her Herald.
  • The Diver's tale almost immediately garnered comparisons to that of the Robed Figure, as they both come from worlds that were ravaged by extinct civilizations whose rise and fall can be credited to the abuse of some kind of powerful yet finite resource. Both the Diver and the Robed Figure did what they could to improve their worlds' situations, although the Diver arguably accomplished more by restoring life back to the ocean and eliminating residue, while the Robed Figure simply set Cloth Creatures free (though there wasn't much RF could've done). Both of them even interact with lost technology by "singing" at it. Their many similarities allowed them to bond and it's not unheard of for them to go on adventures together once in a while, though it's not very common either since they're made to dwell in very different environments.
  • She is a friend to all marine life and is usually found swimming alongside some member or another of the House of Aquatic Life. Even those generally considered evil or just far too hazardous by human standards are pretty tolerant of her (it probably helps that she's a robot and therefore not interesting as food). She may take advantage of her influence to dissuade the less-good marine deities from attacking humans sometimes. This is less out of concern for humans and more out of wanting to avoid their retaliation.
    • Her relationship with her closest friend the Great White didn't start off in the best way, with it actually hindering her in her mission until they had an Androcles' Lion moment, so she had no illusions about quickly becoming friends with the shark god Bruce. Still, she wasn't quite prepared for the horrible stories detailing how insane and voracious Bruce could be. She would like to be able to be a calming influence to him, but no opportunity for becoming close to him has yet arised like with the Great White. Bruce doesn't pay her much of any kind of attention and lets her hang around him once in a while, and she may be the only being who has ever accomplished such a feat without getting torn to shreds. Presumably this is due to the presence of the Great White, who would undoubtedly intervene if the Diver was in danger. Being of the same species, Bruce appears to respect the Great White.
    • She is responsible for helping the Orca to ascend, having taken pity for him upon hearing his tale and guiding him into the Pantheon before he could end his life. Since she was also able to use her powers to restore his family back to him, the Orca is quite fond of her and, given his experiences, really only trusts and considers listening to her, as far as other deities go. The Great White prefers to steer clear from this guy, given orcas can and will eat sharks, though it's never too far away that it can't fulfill its guardian role to the Diver. The Diver isn't naive about the reality of the food chain, so she understands both sides.
  • Has all-around good relationships with the royal families of aquatic kingdoms, such as Ariel's, Aquaman's and the Mermaid Princesses. They're grateful to her for her efforts in keeping the seafloor and the life dwelling there healthy. The Diver isn't much of a fighter and is probably a pacifist, so she doesn't really aid them in fighting their enemies (unless it's in indirect ways like sabotaging them), but she may help clean up in the aftermath if she's available, or calm down some sea creature rampaging in their cities.
  • The Diver caught the interest of Archie after the team leader heard of her actions to improve the quality of the oceans. While Archie may have a dark past involving wanting to raise the sea level to the detriment of those who need land to live, he's learned the error of his ways and wants to help the ocean in a more benign manner. The Diver is open to his ideas and has become pretty good friends with his Sharpedo. Archie has also told her about Kyogre, if only to ensure she doesn't make the mistake of infuriating it out of ignorance should she run into it during her explorations. The Diver in response sought out Kyogre and it turns out the sea titan is as accepting of her presence as most other marine beings.
  • Once, Marlin and Dory decided to tour her temple out of curiosity and Dory wound up wandering off by herself and predictably got lost (though her memory problem made her placidly oblivious to the fact). The Diver ran into a panicked Marlin by chance and took him with her to find Dory, which took some time but it was nothing she couldn't handle as there isn't anything that could eat Dory in the temple. Upon reuniting the fish, she mused that once in her adventure she found a pair of fish the exact same species as them.
  • Through Marlin and Dory, the Diver heard about WALL-E and EVE and she identified with them over their efforts to save a devastated world by working towards environmental restoration. In addition, the Diver finds it refreshing to find other robots who communicate with simple sounds or single words, as she finds that other deities' incessant gabbing can get rather tiring.
  • Occasionally in her travels she runs into Captain Nemo's submarine. They are at peace with each other and appreciate each other's love of the ocean depths. Although after Nemo tried poisoning her mind by saying that imperialists are to blame for the sea's pollution and that she should team up with him to take down their ships, she keeps a relative distance from him, as she doesn't feel it's her place to meddle with human affairs, but rather apply damage control whenever they mess with the ocean.

    Baragon
Baragon, the Tunnel King (Subterranean Monster, God of Earth, Varagon, Sea Baragon)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gmk_baragon.jpg
  • Lesser God
  • Symbol: A sihoulette of himself
  • Theme Music: His theme from Godzilla: Unleashed or GMK
  • Alignment: Chaotic Neutral
  • Portfolio: Tunnel King, Acrofatic, Determinator, Spring Jump, Big Eater, Dishing Out Dirt, has a glowing horn
  • Domains: Monsters, Tunnels, Girth
  • Followers: Taizo Hori, Muddy, Molier, Najarala, Magular, Gabora, Mogrudon
  • Allies: Godzilla (except in one instance), Anguirus, Rodan, Mothra Leo, Tyranitar, Simon the Digger, Korra, Raleigh Becket & Mako Mori
  • Rival: Anub'arak
  • Enemies: Frankenstein's Monster, King Ghidorah (except in one instance), Gigan, The Lich, Mesogog, Indominus Rex, SpaceGodzilla
  • A number of tunnel passageways was found throughout the Pantheon, all of them leading to the House of Nature. When the witnesses found out who created these tunnels, they decided to give the creature a fitting title.
  • Much of Baragon's strengths lie within his ability to dig. This is also helped with a glowing horn and the ability to breathe fire. On a bad day, he can get pretty hungry, so you should probably not meet up with him during these instances.
  • Not particularly happy to see Frankenstein's Monster again. The fact that The Creature may have another form in addition to the one Baragon fought against back then only made the Subterranean Monster very upset. No one can say for certain how a battle between Baragon and Berserker of Black will play out.
  • Apparently, he was able to use his tunneling skills to survive the extinction of dinosaurs. Baragon was practically livid upon hearing that The Lich was responsible for killing dinosaurs (at least in his respective universe). Whether or not Baragon can survive The Lich's dinosaur-killing comet by digging underground is hard to say in the least.
  • Baragon is in a bit of a rivalry with Anub'arak, largely because they are skilled at digging underground passageways. A number of deities are looking forward to a serious battle between the two.
  • Some scientists discovered that there was another form of Baragon with the DNA of walruses and narwhals known as Sea Baragon. Compared to regular Baragon, the sea variant relies exclusively on close-quarters combat.
  • For all of Baragon's tendencies to eat quite a bit (mainly cattle and humans) whenever in a foul mood, he finds the destruction caused by Indominus Rex to be too much.
  • Mesogog reportedly took an interest in Baragon's abilities and is seeing if he can recreate them through his creations. Naturally, Baragon has taken offense in the dinosaur scientist and is making sure it won't happen.
  • Whenever he is in a particularly good mood, Baragon will occassionally help others navigate the underground world with his glowing horn.
  • Has been seen side-by-side with Simon the Digger, likely given their digging abilities. While both are on good terms for the time being, Simon won't hesitate to fight against Baragon should the latter be in a bad mood and take the anger out on innocents. Given both of their determination, a battle between the two of them will take a while.
  • Some are considering Baragon to be a possible means of a counter against Godzilla should the latter ever get out of control. The idea came from Baragon fighting against him once and while he wasn't successful in defeating him that time, at least he tried.

    Dung Defender

  • Uneasy With: False Knight
  • Back in Ye Olden Dayes, when the kingdom of Hallownest prospered under the Pale King's rule, beneath the throne stood the Five Great Knights, noble champions and massive badasses who served as the kingdom's protectors. Among them was Ogrim, best known nowadays as the Dung Defender, who was revered for his Undying Loyalty to Hallownest and the Pale King, and participated in many battles and adventures with his fellow knights. Alas, the Infection struck, and Hallownest was brought to ruin, with its inhabitants being turned into monstrous, infected, mindless husks. The Dung Defender managed to avoid this fate by retreating and making a base in in the Royal Waterways, where all of refuse had gathered. There, he swore to protect the grove of his fellow knight Isma, who he had a particular kind of close relationship with, and denied access to all visitors, granting passage only to those who prove their mettle in honourable combat. Such was the case with a certain little Knight, who he once mistook for one of the aforementioned husks only to get defeated in what he described as "the most majestic knightly fashion". Though unaware of the eventual fate of his King and his fellow knights, he still held hope that they would eventually reunite and that the Hallownest will be reborn again, glorious and bright, as it ever was. Eventually, he went on a journey to make sure the line of Hallownest's Great Knights will not end with him, but not before leaving one parting gift to the little Knight in form of the dung sculpture made in its likeness.
  • One day, a foul odor had spread itself across the entire House of Locations. As the investigation was held, the reason behind the odor turned out to be a new room in the sewer with a huge pool of dung and feces in the middle, its smell going all the way to the surface. A group of hardy and brave adventurers was sent there to investigate, but the moment they arrived, the dung in the giant pile began to rustle and scatter, and a big, armor-clad dung beetle burst out of the dung pool. Locking eyes with the adventurers, it performed a Primal Chest-Pound and uttered a loud Battle Cry of "FAAAAAAARRRFFUUUUNNNDADDAAA!", and the fight was on, the group's attempts at negotiation ignored. The battle was one for the ages, and a lot of dung was chucked around, but the group eventually triumphed, handing the beetle warrior a solid thrashing and sending him flying into the pile of dung. Several hours after the battle, the group returned to this room, and the warrior emerged once more, having learned his lesson and much chummier than before. He offered an apology for attacking so suddenly, admitting that it was his mistake, explaining that he was greatly caught off-guard by suddenly appearing in an unfamiliar place and assumed the worst about the group. Once the misunderstanding was cleared up, the Dung Defender was appointed to his place in the Pantheon, ascending properly as the God of Sewer Levels. The odor problem was eventually solved with a remodel of the sewers, channels of pipes and vents installed to redirect the smell, and with the addition of a manhole.
  • As one can easily tell by his name, the Dung Defender is a master of his domain...and that domain is dung. He wields it as his primary weapon, able to quickly roll up tough balls of the stuff to throw at his foes (he can even curl up into a ball to add himself as a third projectile!), he can swim in dung as if it were water, and he can dive into dung to then emerge with a mighty leap, scattering dung balls everywhere. His mastery extends even beyond the combat, residing in the stuff as he does, and he's an excellent sculptor who uses dung as his medium. However, as he spends so much time among the stuff, he has taken on its signature odour, which he calls "the proud odour of the just". As a result, very few deities want to be in close proximity next to him, and he also ended up being the primary target of the many Neat Freaks, who seek to restore him to the pristine, gleaming, odorless condition they're sure he once held.
  • The Dung Defender was overjoyed to meet the Knight once more in the Pantheon, and, should the need arise, would gladly come to its assistance, always happy to go adventuring with a fellow warrior of Hallownest. Much like the Knight, Dung Defender also seeks to permanently put an end to the Radiance and rid the world of her plague. The Radiance, meanwhile, harbors a special kind of hatred for him, both for being one of the Pale King's followers, but also for somehow managing to avoid her Mystical Plague for an unbelievably long time, and still doing it here.
  • Due to making his home in the sewers, the Dung Defender met and befriended the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, a quartet of heroic sewer inhabitants, and is glad to provide assistance in fighting their enemies whenever he's able. He's also picked up a fondness for pizza.
    • At the same time, he found an enemy in the form of Ramon, a giant man-eating Sewer Gator. The Dung Defender had agreed to do righteous battle with Ramon should it attack the surface to prey on innocents, and the fact that the Defender's 'heroic odour' affects Ramon has made the job quite a bit easier.
      • Furthermore, because of their mutual affinity for dung and shared habitat, he managed to befriend Numemon and Sukamon, ever willing to bravely stand in their defense, allowing them to hang out in his temple, and was even willing to partner up with some of them, much to other deities' chagrin. He's been told that others consider their appearance unappealing, but the Defender doesn't see it that way, even stating the two have their own peculiar kind of cuteness. This resulted in him earning a lot of weird looks from other deities, but that's nothing new for him.
  • Given that the Dung Defender is an insect, he ended up finding a most vexatious foe: Barroth, an insectivorous Brute Wyvern known to submerge itself in mud pools and use mud as a weapon, similarly to how Dung Defender himself does it. This resulted in an unfortunate encounter once Barroth strayed too far from its House and wandered into the Defender's domain. Finding the dung beetle to be worth preying on, Barroth launched into the attack immediately...quite literally! The battle continued for many hours, given the predator's affinity for dirt making Dung Defender's preferred weapon nigh-ineffective, and only when the Defender decided to rely primarily on his curling and bouncing attacks was he able to repel the beast. Even then, Barroth occasionally returns to Dung Defender's sewer whenever it feels ready for another go.
  • The Great Mighty Poo was amused to discover of the existance of a bug who enjoys many of the same things he does, and once sent him a letter to venture to his temple so they could meet, in hopes that he would enjoy his singing. Surprisingly, the Dung Defender did very much enjoy that song, which almost made the Great Mighty Poo shed Tears of Joy. Unfortunately, he disapproved of the Great Mighty Poo wielding the power of excrement For the Evulz, as his weaponized dung is a tool of justice and noble causes, i.e. protecting Hallownest against threats, guarding the grove he swore to defend, etc. The Great Mighty Poo was not pleased with that, and, agreeing to disagree, their friendship ended as soon as it began. While the aftermath does not prevent the Dung Defender from enjoying the Great Mighty Poo's song (and the Great Mighty Poo gladly sings when asked), it the end, they stand opposed, and should the Poo attempt to bring harm to innocents, the Defender is ever ready to rise to the occasion and engage him in what would undoubtedly be a master-class battle of poop-throwing.
  • He was initially uneasy with Khepri. On one hand, Khepri is a dung beetle deity. On the OTHER hand, Khepri is closely associated with the sun, which brings uncomfortable memories of the Radiance. However, once the Dawn Bringer paid the Defender a visit, he proved himself to be surprisingly amiable to his fellow beetle's causes, and also revealed that he is not only unrelated to the Radiance, but also outright resents her, citing her monstrous arrogance, among her other sins, as the reason. This made Ogrim breathe a big sigh of relief, and they've been on friendly terms ever since. The scarab god greatly appreciates the Dung Defender's Undying Loyalty to his King and dedication to his duties in preserving Hallownest and protecting the grove of his fellow knight, Isma, and the Defender, in turn, admires the Dawn Bringer's dedication to his role in maintaining the day-and-night cycle. He even made two sculptures of Khepri, one made in the likeness of his human-with-scarab-head form, one in the likeness of his full scarab form, and offered them as a gift, which Khepri gladly accepted. Both sculptures are still kept in the Dawn Bringer's temple to this very day, preserved and taken care of, much to other deities' chagrin.
  • His Undying Loyalty to his King earned him respect from various other loyal knights such as Lancelot and Gawain, and his odor did little to lessen this respect, a gesture Dung Defender greatly appreciated. Similarly, Vanilla Ice also considered his loyalty worthy of respect, but given that he's a villain who is loyal to a cruel mass murderer, his respect made Dung Defender feel a bit uneasy.
  • He is sometimes encountered in the Hall of Dreams and Nightmares, and, under the light of the pale moon, he's known to take another form, known as the White Defender. In this form, his armor takes on the resplendant white hue he had in his prime, he's also much faster and more powerful and reacts gallantly to each defeat by becoming stronger, taking four encounters to reach his full power. Some Dream Walkers decided to challenge him in this form, and found the White Defender glad to accept. In the rare cases they defeat him, they've unearthed more of his secrets and internal thoughts, such as the fact that, underneath his jolly external behavior, he dearly misses his King and his fellow knights and desperately wants to reunite with them.
My friends... I will protect our dear Kingdom. Have faith in me! We will all meet again. I promise it...
Your Majesty... Have faith in me!
    Hegemol... I miss your humour...
    Ze'mer... I miss your stories...
    Dryya... I miss your wisdom...
Isma... I miss.. I miss you...
    • While out and about one day, Ogrim chanced upon what seemed like a familiar figure. Recognizing the looks as the armor of one of his compatriots, the Mighty Hegemol, he immediately rushed to meet his old friend...only to be met with a great disappointment once it turned out that the one wearing the armor was not Hegemol, but a maggot who stole his armor for personal use. Though he had no real issue with the False Knight keeping the armor, understanding his desire to protect his siblings, he'd really rather not encounter the one who stole the armor of one of his closest friends again.
    • His wish to reunite with his King finally came true when he learned that the Pale King had finally made his way into the Pantheon. The first thing Ogrim did once he heard the news was to emerge from the sewers, venture to the Pale King's temple, navigate all the many buzzsaws, bow before his liege once more and proclaim his loyalty. The Wyrm was pleased to see that his most loyal Knight found his way into the Pantheon, and the Defender re-dedicated himself to his cause in the name of rebuilding Hallownest in the Pantheon. He also remembered the promise he made to his small Hollow friend and beseeched the King to officially knight it. Though the Pale King needed some time to consider, having his concerns regarding the tiny Vessel, he was won over by its prowess in a fight and lack of rebellious desires. As such, he accepted Ogrim's request and officially knighted the Vessel, much to the joy of the Defender, pleased at the prospect of sharing many glorious adventures together with the Knight in the name of the mutual cause.
  • Due to the similarities in their pasts, Dung Defender gets along well with the Knight of Despair, a tragic magical girl who, much like him, was once a virtuous knight who dedicated herself to her kingdom and its people, but tragically lost everything she fought so hard for. Unlike Ogrim, whose resolve did not buckle as he continued holding onto hope, the Knight of Despair plummeted into deepest, darkest despair as she succumbed to corruption, and as such, he can't help but pity her, hoping that one day, she too may be able to rediscover the hope she lost. The Knight, in turn, respects Ogrim for his Undying Loyalty to his kingdom and holds him in high regard, especially given how he managed to avoid the fate that befell her. She doesn't even seem to mind his scent. Of course, given the destructive rampages she goes on whenever someone with her blessing dies or goes insane, he considers it his duty, as a friend, to stand up to her when he has to.
  • For the honour of the King! For the honour of the Five! For the honour of Hallownest!

    Pom Poko Tanuki
The Tanuki of Tama Hillnotable individuals, Gods of Supernatural Genitalia and Defenders of Uncorrupted Wilderness
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pom_poko.png
  • Lesser Gods (Intermediate for those that are disciplined and train their abilities)
  • Symbol: A tanuki statue
  • Theme Song: "Spirited Season"
  • Alignment: True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Tanuki, magical testicles, Ghibli Hills, Green Aesops, Master of Illusion, Shapeshifting, potentially more deadly than their behavior would suggest, Faux Documentaries
  • Domains: Beasts, the Supernatural, Tradition, Environmentalism, Genitalia
  • Allies: The other Studio Ghibli deities, the Hall of Nature Preservers, the House of Celebration, especially Pinkie Pie, Amaterasu, Mamizou Futatsuiwa, Sanada Yukimura, Tom Nook
  • Enemies: Mr. Burns, Looten Plunder
  • Oppose: Angry Video Game Nerd
  • Rivals: Renamon (one-sided)
  • Terrified of: Johnny Cage and his family
  • Annoy: The House of Food in general
  • Complicated Relations: Tanukichi Okuma
  • On good terms with: Mario
  • When urbanization struck the idyllic Tama Hill, the residing tanuki scrambled to stop their territory from shrinking. They attempted to organize themselves to better push back against the humans, but certain factors (namely, that tanuki are naturally easily distracted, them not being able to agree on anything, and humanity simply not believing in the supernatural as much anymore) meant that their enterprise was doomed. In the end, in order to survive, some used their illusion powers to mix in with humans, while others remained wild and soldiered on as well as they could.
  • One day, the "green" deities were doing battle with Mr. Burns and his allies to stop the latter group from using Green Hill Zone as a dump for toxic waste. Deciding that they needed reinforcements, San had an idea and excused herself for a moment. Some minutes later, Burns' forces were sky-bombed by suspiciously fleshy yet furry round objects, crushing quite a few of their number in a most undignified manner. When the tanuki made their next attack by swinging their scrotums like bludgeons, Burns and co. were too surprised, grossed out and legitimately wounded, so they decided to retreat to pollute another day. To reward such a memorable debut and for protecting one of the greenest places in the Pantheon, the Main House awarded the tanuki with godhood over Super Sex Organs and Ghibli Hills.
    • When San came to them requesting for their help, the tanuki were reluctant to give it since their confidence had been shot because of their failure to protect their own home, and thought their help wouldn't be any use. San replied that if the past weighs on their minds so much, they could seek to redeem themselves by protecting that which still exists in the present and is someone else's precious home. Shokichi, one of the younger tanuki, thought she was right and was the first to volunteer. Everyone else followed with a little rallying up from Oroku. During the battle, they were surprised and very happy to see Gonta and several other tanuki who'd died in the mortal world joining the fray.
    • They've promised to protect any natural place in the Pantheon so that such places do not suffer the same fate as their own home. The existence of people like Mr. Burns and Looten Plunder, who'll ruin green spaces without a thought simply becauses it suits them, aghasts the tanuki; at least the humans who took their home did so because they needed the space to live, not because of any malicious intention to wreck the environment.
  • Mamizou, being a tanuki herself, was joyful at receiving the news of the ascension of a whole community of them. She, more than anyone, can be credited with helping the tanuki get used to life in the Pantheon. These days she can often be found in their temple, enjoying being around her kind. The tanuki also welcome her warmly.
    • She's also taken care to inform them that Doraemon is not one of them before anyone made that mistake.
  • Most of the deities in the Pantheon who aren't Japanese find the tanuki's constantly exposed balls and their magical properties very disconcerting indeed. Well, that or hilarious. The tanuki and the Japanese deities don't understand what the big deal is. There have been some attempts from the more prudish deities to force the tanuki to wear more modest clothes, though the proposals have always been shot down by the Court of Gods, who've judged that such a thing would be a violation of the tanuki's nature and culture and that they'd been robbed of enough already.
  • Because their testicles are so essential to them, they were terrified to learn of Johnny Cage, a man who specializes in attacking that area. He has developed quite a reputation as a fearsome monster among the tanuki (so have his wife and daughters, especially as Cassie has shown a similar propensity). Johnny himself has nothing against them and just finds this amusing. He's pointed out that if they can use their balls as bludgeons, they can't be that much of a weak spot.
  • They don't like humans very much considering they're responsible for destroying their territory and forcing the tanuki to change their lifestyle. For this reason, they do not generally seek the company of humans. They prefer hiding away much more than attacking them, though, and as tanuki are nothing if not fun-loving, they sure enjoy the entertainment that humans create; they've made sure to furnish their temple with a big plasma TV and several gaming consoles. They were floored to learn about the wonders of laptops and video-on-demand, which weren't yet around in their time, and were quick to acquire those as well.
    • San is one of the few humans they like for reasons that should already be clear, but also because she was raised by wolf gods in a forest filled with spirits, so she understands the tanuki to some degree. She and Ashitaka have slowly made progress in getting them to interact with the other Ghibli deities, who're mostly human. Luckily, many of them are sensitive to the natural and spiritual world, so the tanuki like them well enough.
  • These tanuki have more or less three forms: a realistic one, an anthropomorphized one, and a comically cartoony one. Due to their isolationism, few other deities not trusted by them have seen them in any form besides the first one.
  • Something they struggled with back in the mortal world was the fact that humans didn't believe in their existence as they once used to. Amaterasu, who once had to run around all over Japan to get people to believe in her again, sympathizes with their plight. She also commends their efforts to protect nature both in the mortal world and in the Pantheon. The tanuki themselves were impressed that the sun goddess could take on the form of a wolf and think they prefer her like that.
  • Spend an inordinate amount of time at the House of Food, considering neither of their temples is located there. These tanuki are very gluttonous and particularly fond of human food, and they love nothing quite so much as stuffing themselves. Since they also love throwing rowdy parties while they're at it, Gordon Ramsay and other residents of the House have been seen running them all out plenty of times for making a mess.
  • Like any tanuki, they enjoy using their powers to prank the other deities. They find it hilarious seeing the others' scared reactions when they disguise themselves as haunts. Occasionally their powers are given more of a constructive use, such as when festivities are approaching and the House of Celebration asks them to participate by using their illusion powers to create thematically appropriate displays. Since the tanuki like to show off, they don't mind helping.
    • Even if it's not a day of celebration, they always manage to find a pretext to throw a party, no matter how unwarranted. They generally keep these to their community, but Pinkie Pie has managed to insert herself in these events with ease, claiming she wants to study their party-throwing ways to inspire her own. Due to her party-hard personality, which is much like theirs, the tanuki are quite accepting of her.
  • Tanuki historically don't really get along with kitsune, treating each other as rivals in the arts of shapeshifting and constantly challenging each other. Renamon is so far the only fox in the Pantheon to match the description of a kitsune, but while she'll engage the tanuki in shapeshifting contests if she has nothing else going on, it's not something she takes seriously.
  • Sanada Yukimura finds Gonta and his followers' Last Stand to be an admirable show of manliness. Gonta himself is over the moon that a legendary Sengoku general would compliment him so.
  • Their presence in the Pantheon is a bit of a sore spot for Tanukichi Okuma, as it gives the other deities ammo to make jokes about the tanuki's most infamous attribute at his expense, as he was named after them.
  • Mario has tried interacting with them through his special power of turning into a tanuki by eating a leaf. The tanuki aren't fooled (they aren't nearly as dumb as they look, really) but they're still impressed a human has some grasp on the art of shapeshifting, so they're okay with him and let him be around them (perhaps to show off how the pros do it). Now other deities keep asking them if it's true that Mario's package becomes larger in that form. They're not sure why that matters.
  • Apparently the Angry Video Game Nerd once rode a giant tanuki into battle. The tanuki would normally be indifferent to this, if it wasn't known that he had shot up Totoro. They weren't the least bit amused that a great nature spirit had gotten such a treatment.

    Rico Rodriguez
Rico Rodriguez, God of Ruined Landscapes (Scorpio, Dictator Removal Specialist)

  • Domains: Destruction, Combat, Espionage
  • Herald: Tom Sheldon (his handler and Mission Control).
  • Allies: James Bond, Nathan Spencer, Michael Bay, Lara Croft, Nathan Drake, Diogenes, Thomas Angelo
  • Enemies: Raul Menendez, Colonel Mael Radec, Vaas Montenegro, Kano
  • Rico’s ascension came after he singlehandedly blew up an entire military base several evil members of the House of War had finished building. They haven’t really forgiven Rico for ruining the base.
  • Why is he in the House of Shape? Because the landscape is NEVER the same after he's gone through it.
    • He got relocated to the House of Slaughter. However, the meaning of the word for him is basically getting his enemies slaughtered through his ability to explode things.
  • Most Deities give him a wide berth, since he has the uncanny ability to wreck all their stuff beyond repair when he's pissed.
  • The other Deities think he actually might have mystical powers, since he has an incredible talent at blowing things up, even things that are not SUPPOSED to blow up. The man could probably blow the Pentagon up by rubbing two matchsticks together.
  • Gets along swimmingly with James Bond, sharing both a profession and a predilection for blowing things up nicely. Nathan Spencer quickly became friends with him because of Rico's trusty grappling hook. Likewise, due to his tendency to blow things up, he gets along really well with Michael Bay.
  • The belief that he is actually magic has been reinforced by Yahtzee, who has referred to him as an "immortal physics-defying wizard", "warlock master of time and space", and alternatively "the legendary son of Zeus and a Hispanic window cleaner". Zeus denies any biological connection with Rico, but does respect his abilities.

  • Demigods
  • Symbol: Richard Parker himself
  • Theme Song: "Pi's Lullaby"
  • Alignment: Pi is Neutral Good, Richard Parker is True Neutral
  • Portfolio: Drifted in a lifeboat in the Pacific Ocean for a long time
  • Domains: Sea, Survival, Faith, Tigers
  • High Priests: The cast of Lifeboat

  • Enemies: YHVH, Shere Khan, The Hyenas

  • Pi Patel grew up in Pondicherry, where his family owned a zoo. When Pi was nearly adult, the family decided to take their business and move to America across the Pacific ocean. Unfortunately, the boat they were on was caught in a violent storm and sunk, with Pi as the only survivor. Well, the only human one. He found himself sharing his lifeboat with a fully grown Bengal tiger called Richard Parker, who used to live at the zoo. Although Pi had opportunities to kill him and make himself safer, he could never bring himself to do so, so they became unlikely, if not one-sided, comrades in survival. After 227 days drifting on the Pacific, they reached American shores. Richard Parker disappeared into a forest and was never heard from again, while Pi went on to live a fulfilling life in Canada.
  • Pi got into the Pantheon at the invitation of Aslan, who was impressed with the boy's steadfastness, his compassion towards Richard Parker, and how he endured his faith being tested in his harrowing adventure. Pi Patel was remarkably accepting of Aslan, which isn't surprising given how open-minded he is about such matters, but mostly he was fascinated with the concept of the Pantheon upon hearing of it and thought he must see it for himself, so he accepted. He was especially interested in the Houses of Faith and Beast, given his deep interest in religion and animals, and was offered a spot in the Pantheon so he spend time exploring them and other things that caught his interest more thoroughly. Hearing that the domain being offered to him was Lost at Sea made him think that Richard Parker should be at his side as well, but he thought it'd be impossible and let it be.
    • Pi loves to talk about Richard Parker and how he wouldn't be who he was without his influence to anyone who'll listen. Deities who are particularly interested in his relationship with the tiger, namely animal lovers Steve Irwin and Eliza Thornberry, who brought up the idea of having Richard Parker share Pi's godhood. Pi was surprised, but liked the idea as he wanted very much to see Richard Parker again. Pi's familiar presence, Steve's expertise and Eliza's ability to talk to animals ensured that Richard Parker's ascension happened without much trouble. Though, given he's not a tame animal at all, Eliza had to force him to promise not to ever attack Pi, upon pain of divine punishment. Richard Parker does seem to have benign feelings for Pi, but just in case.
  • Richard Parker cares about Pi in his own way, but he's still a wild animal (not to mention tigers are solitary by nature) and so he tends to disappear from their temple for long periods of time. Pi's opinion on this behavior is that it's not that different from house cats and it'd be a sin to try to tether a creature like Richard Parker. The tiger's exploits in the Pantheon's wilds have meanwhile become an object of interest to David Attenborough, who's happy to narrate documentaries about him. These documentaries are in turn fascinating to Pi, who became friends with the wildlife narrator, and the two have frequent conversations about the animals they love so much.
  • While observing animals by himself in the House of Nature, he met a fellow Indian boy called Mowgli and discovered he had his own special connection to animals, having been raised by wolves and having a bear and panther for best friends. Pi finds this fantastic and is having ideas of writing a thesis on the subject of wild children and the animals that adopt them, so he often visits the place and has become something of a big brother figure to Mowgli. Though, Pi admits he is a little jealous of Mowgli's ease at interacting with animals, wishing he could understand Richard Parker as he or Eliza do.
    • Unfortunately, Mowgli hasn't had the best experience with tigers, with his worst enemy being Shere Khan. The human-hating tiger himself was interested in Richard Parker, given they're the same species and Shere Khan thought he might make a powerful and ferocious ally that could compensate for his shortcomings. Richard Parker at first didn't mind his presence, as Shere Khan gave him some hunting tips. He was also indifferent to Shere Khan's casual remarks about his distate for humans. However when Shere Khan finally suggested something to the effect of getting rid of Pi to liberate Richard Parker, the latter snarled and lashed out at him, making it clear the boy was off-limits. After a scuffle that Richard Parker won, a disappointed and enraged Shere Khan cut off ties with who he termed a vegetarian man-cub's pet and a disgrace to tigers, and promised the two would be among the first to go when the time when he can exact his ambitions comes.
  • Having spent his childhood in a zoo, Pi is fond of most animals. However if there's one species of animal he truly despises, that is the hyena. Part of this has to do with an hyena initially sharing the lifeboat with Pi, alongside a zebra and an orangutan, both of which the hyena killed, much to Pi's rage and the hyena's demise at the paws of Richard Parker. However Pi didn't have a great opinion of hyenas even before then, and the three hyena deities in the Pantheon don't exactly do much to change his perception of them. Shenzi, Banzai and Ed don't like Pi either for his opinions on them being the same as their lion archnemeses (and basically every other animal in their universe). However they're sure Pi would sick Richard Parker on them (as they are under the impression that Pi has a lot more control over Richard Parker than he actually does), and the tiger terrifies them, so they just avoid making waves.
  • The two being involved in a shipwreck caught the interest of Rose Bukater and Jack Dawson, themselves well-known for being passengers on the ill-fated Titanic. Pi and Rose understand each other well for the pain of losing loved ones in such a disaster (as Pi lost his whole family), but still being strong enough to move on and doing amazing things with their lives. Both Rose and Jack are amazed by his ingenuity in surviving in a small lifeboat with a tiger. Jack has also made a drawing of Pi and Richard Parker that hangs in the walls of their temple.
  • Pi has a deep interest in religion and adheres to three: Hinduism, Christianity and Islam. He respects atheists since he thinks atheism is also a form of belief, but can't stand agnostics, thinking of them as wishy-washy. He's also a professor of theology and sometimes holds seminars in the House of School. Pi's openness towards so many beliefs puts him well at home in the Pantheon for obvious reasons, but one god who refuses to accept his views is YHVH, since he thinks of himself as the absolute God and those who don't submit exclusively to him deserve to eradicated. Pi's opinion on him is pretty much that he's not the real God the many religious texts he has studied have told him about (which isn't incorrect) and that a tyrant as vain as him is not worth worshipping.
  • The concept of a boy having a tiger companion has drawn a lot of joking comparisons to Calvin and Hobbes. So it eventually happened that Calvin marched up to the two's temple, saying Hobbes wanted to meet Richard Parker and speak from one tiger to another. Pi was somewhat worried Richard Parker would just chew on what looked like a stuff toy to him, but Calvin insisted it was important, so he reluctantly acquiesced. Richard Parker simply sniffed the toy and settled down in front of it and Calvin assured him the tigers were talking. Calvin surmised it would take a while and so spent the night at the temple, and Pi found how Calvin was an engaging conversationalist and how they share a lot of topics of interest, especially given he is only six years old. The next day, Richard Parker was gone and Pi was astonished nothing had happened to Hobbes, though he concluded that the stuffed toy must have something wonderous to him after all. Just another mystery of life. He invited Calvin to come again, which Calvin says he will, since Hobbes would like to see Richard Parker again and Calvin himself thinks Pi is pretty cool.
  • Pi felt disturbed hearing of a giant turtle monster that was so big and shaped in such a way, it could easily be mistaken for an island. This gave him flashbacks of his time on an island that was alive and feasted on any creature foolish enough not to sleep on the trees. Although there's no confirmation that SCP-169 is as dangerous, that's only because it's asleep, and nobody really knows what might happen if it wakes up. Pi finds himself praying that day never comes.

    Ricky Baker and Hec
Ricky Baker and Hec, Co-Gods of the Wild Wilderness

From left to right: Hec and Ricky Baker
  • Demigods.
  • Symbol:
  • Theme Song: Makutehaku and Trifecta.
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (both). Ricky was once Chaotic Neutral.
  • Portfolio: Wild Wilderness, Poor Communication Kills, Odd Couple.
  • Domains: Wilderness, Adoption, Journeys.
  • Heralds: Tupac (Ricky's pet dog), Bela (Hec's wife).
  • Allies: Felonious Gru, Dennis the Menace, David Attenborough, Wright Anything Agency, Sirius Black, Lewis Anthonio.
  • Oppose: Charlie Kelly (Hec), Kinderheim 511.
  • Pities: Captain Mako (Ricky).
  • Enemies: Lady Tremaine, Scar, Granny Goodness.
  • Far away in New Zealand lived a Māori boy known as Ricky Backer, Ricky had been abandoned by his birth mother and due to his problematic behavior stemming from a dream of becoming a gangster when he grows up got shuffled around foster homes a lot. His luck seemed to get better when he was adopted by the middle-aged couple of Bela and her gruff husband, Hec, with Bela proving a loving, wonderful mother figure. Sadly, Bela died suddenly and left him only with Hec. Distraught, Ricky ran away from home but in his attempts to fake his death so as to not be sought out by the authorities ended up burning part of Hec's house while Hec went looking for him. After some hectic shenanigans that ended up making Hec look like a criminal that had taken him hostage, Ricky found a permanent home with a nice family he met on his journey while Hec was cleared of charges but left to live at a retirement home due to his house burning down, regardless their time together in adventures allowed them to finally become friends and the two set off in a new adventure to find the supposedly-extinct Huia bird, which they had found during their travels.
  • Following their quest for the Huia, the duo were ascended in a smoothly performed process, while at it they've had some fun exploring the vast planes of the Pantheon, now with much more preparation for the adventures they could face. Ricky has also taken to finding other kids to be friends with as well as people with who he could share his experiences regarding his orphaned status with.
  • One of the first allies Ricky made was Wade Wilson AKA Deadpool, a strangely friendly yet bloodthirsty mercenary, who due to his fourth-wall breaking capabilities, recognized Ricky's appearance from a kid he befriended, Russell, not to mention the similar attitude and self-esteem issues Ricky faced in his life like Russell. While Hec has made sure Wade does not influences Ricky too much, fearing that the mercenary's worst traits will be copied by his honorary nephew, but Ricky has said to him that that isn't happening with Deadpool himself trolling Hec as well on that issue.
  • Ricky's experiences in his orphanage and the entirety of his time as an orphan has left him somewhat averse to orphanages in general, however he's started to open up to the good ones thanks to his recent adoption by a nice family; on the flip-side bad orphanages or bad people in them have earned his hatred for the damage they cause to children that were once like him, a notable example was Granny Goodness, known for running an orphanage in Apokolips that mistreats and induces children into Darkseid's cause; all of which gave Ricky and Hec a low view of the old woman.
  • They both have taken to looking for the extinct Huia, giving them some interest in the eyes of conservationists such as David Attenborough. Attenborought invited the duo over to discuss and review their footage and sighting of the huia seeing it as a possible groundbreaking discovery and milestone for ecologists, both were happy to accept the offer and subsequently befriended David.
  • Hec made connections with people who have been framed of crimes they did not commit and had to pay the price for that with jail or worse. One of these people was Sirius Black, who had to endure the brunt of being accused for several murders of which his once-friend Peter Pettigrew was responsible and wouldn't be acquitted legally until long after he died. Hec feels bad to hear about how badly he got framed for crimes and how long Sirius spent paying for them despite his innocence, while Sirius was at least happy Hec got bailed out of his troubles quicker than he was himself.
  • The Wright Anything Agency are known for their cases of clearing the names of those wrongfully affected by the justice system, as such they were a company Hec liked to keep track of. They were a bit bewildered by just how Hec ended up in legal trouble due to the misunderstandings caused by Ricky's poor wording but are at least glad that he's no longer involved in that mess.
  • Captain Mako is a supervillain who grew up in an orphanage of rather bad caring methods and who ended up turning into a villain due to the abuse and mockery he faced in his time there, Ricky greatly pitied him for it, as despite knowing that he's a deranged villain with many crimes under his belt, he still can't help but empathize with his pains of being mistreated at an orphanage given how miserable he himself was in his own orphanage and the issue of never quite landing a good foster home until much later.
  • Lady Tremaine is someone that both Ricky and Hec grew to loathe as she had abused her step-daughter, Cinderella, to murderous extents at time even. She had little to say about the duo, considering them insignificant due to not being on her same social class... Or at least the one she used to be in. For what it's worth, at least Ricky has bonded with Cinderella over the feeling of being let down by a parent that adopted them.
  • Dennis the Menace is a young boy known for being a big troublemaker, as such he could relate to the brattier side of Ricky, though since he has many standards he was quite glad that didn't go any further than it involving minor arson and destruction of property through accidents. Hec finds himself a bit annoyed by the kid but otherwise doesn't minds his friendship with Ricky.
  • Ricky made a connection with fellow orphaned-now-Happily Adopted boy Lewis Anthonio. Lewis suffered a lot due to being abandoned by his mother at a young age in the orphanage and never quite getting to fit in any foster house due to his eccentricities, not unlike Ricky's rowdy behavior making his desire to find a foster family rather hard to achieve up until he found the right one. Lewis was intrigued by Ricky's adventures as much as Ricky was intrigued by Lewis' own time-travelling adventure.

  • The cold areas of the Antarctic continent are among the least concerning when it comes to horrific moments, at least in past years when the only thing known about it are the animals living there. Various nations would put up outposts to claim the area and chief among those was the U.S Outpost 31. This would have been simple as nothing eerie happened with the outpost, until a group of researchers would visit the outpost and after a rogue encounter with a Norwegian gunman chasing down a dog with a gun, did the entire outpost fall into shambles as a horrific creature from the unknown would terrorize the group by assimilating each and every member within it. Thus, the tale of the Antarctic Research Group, lead by Garry, showed the events that unfolded within the Outpost and its eventual fate.
    • The group in question were undoubtedly surprised when a Norwegian came in attempting a shoot a stray animal which happened to come by within their doorstep the moment they landed in the Outpost. While it may seem like a rogue attack, the animal they have saved unwittingly became something that would destroy the group. When it revealed itself to them, they have discovered what the entity was. A shapeshifting Thing that could assimilate and mimic any living being it would consume. The events that occurred lead to the death of each group member, as one by one, each of them would become Things themselves, increasing paranoia among the remaining members and as a desperate last ditch effort burned the outpost down, counting to only two survivors left within the wreckage, determined to die in the cold, or perhaps if any of them were human by the end.
  • While the group were assigned to a visit to the outpost, a strange beam of light would engulf the entire helicopter they were riding on. After a few seconds, the helicopter alongside the crew found themselves within a large building with various pillars. As they approached it further, a voice came to them, announcing them as Quasideities and soon, the entire group was suddenly teleported into the original outpost, all in-tact. One of the members, R.J MacReady, soon found a letter that reads "Handlers of Cold, Eerie Outposts" in one of the facilities of the outpost. Realizing this, the group were confused with the letter and incident, questioning what "Quasideities" and "Handlers" meant. Then a revelation came up, when another letter from an anonymous sender was sent and confirmed that they have "ascended" in the "Pantheons", putting them as those who would handle distant antarctic outposts. As for the reactions of the group, many are still confused with their first entry to the Pantheon.
  • Their first foray into the Pantheon was nothing memorable for them as they met regular people, although their temple undoubtedly was Outpost 31 for reasons of their title, which left their meteorologist Bennings in a state of confusion as to the weather scenarios of the other Houses. Then they met various large entities and even went in a House filled with various unknowable entities. The majority of the group decided to stay isolated within the outpost, unwilling to comprehend to what they just witnessed in their vicinity. Though one of them, brought a flamethrower once they would go out again into the unknown Pantheon they have ascended into. The crew gradually got used to the weirdness of where they now lived, with Blair and Copper particularly hopeful that the help of other deities could help them destroy the Thing for good (after they regained their memories of it).
  • Even after entering to the Pantheon did not spare them from the horrors of The Thing, for it was first sighted in the House of Life and Vitality. The unholy sighting from it allowed most of the crew's memories to be recalled and realizing the Thing was still alive, did they retaliate hard. Portions of the temple of the Thing was torched to oblivion, courtesy of MacReady and Childs. The House then calmly told them the truth that the dimension they were living in was a massive congregate of various people from various worlds, even telling them that the Thing arrived first before they did and that they would assign them to safeguard it as they had their experience dealing with it. MacReady's response?
    MacReady: Yeah, fuck you too!
    • Fuchs learnt of the tragic fate of their predecessors in the burnt down Norwegian research station after a trip to the House of Knowledge and suggested that they could help out in the hunt for the Thing. Some deliberation in the Court followed and a new module was connected to their Outpost identical to Thule Station. The extra knowledge they gained from their new partners was invaluable, such as the Thing's inability to replicate inorganic matter as told by Kate Lloyd. Their pilot Lars took the longest time to adjust to the new situation; after all, he was the Sole Survivornote  of the Thule disaster who got shot dead for trying to save the Americans just because he couldn't speak English. Suffice to say, MacReady and company were quick to brush up on their Norwegian counterparts so something like this doesn't happen again.
    • The House of Knowledge also gave some news to the group in regards to the fate of MacReady showing that he was the lone survivor of Outpost 31, rescuing the last few members of investigation teams Alpha and Beta Team. They also did show that MacReady and Childs were human and hunted the Thing across the globe, eventually leading to a number of serious casualties including Childs. The group, after learning of this were more determined to stop the Thing and with some of their memories regained, did MacReady dedicate more of his life to destroying its presence once and for all.
  • If living in a massive gathering of various worlds was not bad enough, beings of similar power/structure to the Thing were spotted and the group were more than shocked. Said beings may have similar, if not worse, potential than the Thing they have encountered. Beings such as the Carrion, a creature with similar motifs of the Thing, if not more hostile and aggressive than its related being, and Alex Mercer who in reality is a manifestation of the Blacklight Virus, have proven that the entire crew will not have enough manpower to fight against these beings, which is why they have asked assistance in their call.
    • Then came the Venom Symbiote, which seems to operate on a different scale compared to the related beings, although far more dangerous. Yet for all that danger, the Symbiote for reasons operates akin to an anti-hero and while it has no interest in the group, it has taken a liking to MacReady, as his determination to stop the Thing brought his attention. As for beings that hate flamethrowers, look no further than the Wendigo, a being related to famine and cannibalism. While at first glance, the creature is of near inhuman form, it actually is a human in the form of Hannah Washington, something that no one in the group knows, let alone realize due to the Wendigo's form.
    • Childs suggested that a mere flamethrower was not enough to repel these beasts but instead to ask for assistance to incinerate them. Garry suggested to contact a few deities related to fire and upon those who he observed, brought a schizophrenic person in front of the base with a flamethrower in hand. Many were not thrilled at its presence, with Palmer calling it to be even far crazier than him but MacReady has approved its assistance. The person you may ask, was the Pyro, who may not only have enough flamethrower gasoline to burn the Thing but may stand some chance against the other fiends. Eventually the search continued and even managed to stumble across an engineer, Isaac Clarke, who received their messages. Thankful that the crew who discovered the Thing was present, he was glad that he is not the only person who can fight it on his own, though he may have to hope that enough manpower is worth it in the long run, considering Isaac Clarke's presence will pretty much attract a far worse being than the Thing, the Necromorphs.
  • At some point, Windows decided to send another signal but this time around the Antarctic, in the hopes that maybe there would be some people who are also stranded within the continent. While no message was responded, he did pick up a few uninhabited locations that were detected to be camps, similar to theirs. With this in mind, a support team composed of Childs, Clark and Fuchs were sent to the location and discovered it to be a long abandoned outpost, but it was not your typical camp. It had a large array of technology alongside were cryogenic tubes, containing what seems to be the remains of the inhabitants. Then the three were confronted by a woman with a blue jacket, greeting them in response to the call. It was Mei-Ling Zhou, the only surviving member of the Overwatch outpost stationed in Antarctica. Hearing their distress call, she followed them to their outpost, where she was debriefed of the crew's situation. While she is more than happy to help them, the fact that the Pyro is right alongside the crew may have brought a few conflicts here and there.
    • Alternatively, they did receive another call, this time from an arriving ship from the sea. They expected an army or perhaps a few experts to arrive. What arrived however were a bunch of teenage girls who must have thought that Outpost 31 might have been an arrival station for tourists. This brought confusion to the group as Windows must have not explicitly told that they needed experts to deal with the case. Nevertheless, they arrived and they must deal with what they have, though the girls themselves have sympathized with their unfortunate outcomes and even told some of their stories of their encounter with the Thing during their first visits to the Pantheon. At some point, Clark and Norris further welcomed them by allowing them entry to the dog's den within the outpost, perhaps thinking that while the Thing is stationed somewhere else, they could use some people to lessen their paranoia.
  • At one point, the crew was visited by a group of unidentified people with large amounts of technological implants. Unsure of what they are, MacReady was about to burn them until they were suddenly given weapons of unknown origin. Declaring themselves as the Corpus, they have agreed to a truce to the group as while they have experience in cold weather systems, the threats they face are notably similar, hence their introduction to the Infested. Seeing that another Thing-like threat emerged, the group accepted the treaty in the hopes of killing that alongside the Thing.
  • Antarctica may seem like an innocent continent, but stories related to it are anything but harmless, and their story is no different. However, even before The Thing was formally introducted (even as a short story), there existed a story that told of another tale within the Antarctic that revolved around strange "penguin" creatures and an alien city. This story unnerved many of the group and some of the more loony ones, ala Palmer, thinks it was some sort of "alien shit" that must have made this. Even their scientist Dr. Blair has no idea as to what these "Shoggoths" are and suggests meeting with the author of the story. Then they realized that the author himself is within Pantheon grounds, prompting the group to have a talk to why he would write such stories of horror since they are victims themselves of such. Lovecraft denied any connection between the Thing and the Shoggoths, but the group are not convinced.
  • At last, a group of armies arrived within the outskirts of Outpost 31. Everyone thought they would get help but that was not until they saw that the soldiers were lining up in what seems to be a firing line in front of them. The soldiers continued firing while the remainder of the group hid. Windows continously reported within the radio that they are friendlies but the attacks continued. Soon, the outpost was prepped for demolition, until they slowly subdued each soldier present and took their radios, listening to their reports. Confused as to what "Hazardous Environment Containment Unit" was, they thought they would save them but in reality would kill them for their witnessing of the Thing. They may have subdued the first attack but lessened their distress calls, if the incident might attract similar forces.
    • They did encounter a duo of men that visited the group and nearly forced them into a Neuralyzer, though Garry convinced that they can handle the Thing's presence. In response however, the Agents questioned if such casualties were needed if they could really contain the Thing's presence to the outside world. One of them had a flamethrower pointed at their back and told them the reason for their ascension, which forced the two to leave, seeing that the group do have a purpose. Compared to the other form of "containment", this one thankfully did not end in a near slaughter or memory wipe for that matter.
  • Have gathered the support of Mulder and Scully, who twice had gone through similar ordeals involving parasite in isolated outposts (one in the Arctic, the other in a volcano), and Linkara, a fan of their movie who saw the "a being is impersonating one of us" plot happen when the Entity appeared in his ship.

  • After the success of Muse in their attempts to save their school and develop a reputation in the Idol music scene, the terminology consequently becomes more popular and competitive regarding high school girls who wanted to pursue the Idol Singer career. Such was the case of an upcoming Nonet band known as Aqours, consisting of a trio of individual year students and three sub-groups; CYaRon!, AZALEA and Guilty Kiss. Inspired by and taking heavy influences from Muse, Aqours series to save Uranohoshi Girls' School from being shut down and to create their own reception and reputation.
    • This, however, came with setbacks. Around the time Aqours was formed, the prospect of competition regarding aspiring Idol bands became larger and thus, the band was forced to challenge other groups like them. Also adding to the band's pressure and struggle was past events pertaining to the first iteration of Aqours and it's members, particularly Kanan Matsuura and Mari Ohara that led to its breakup and personal insecurities and troubles of each member's dilemma.
  • Like their predecessor and primary source of influence, the sub-groups that make up for 1/3 of Aqours tend to distinguish each other with different vocal and instrumental styles whilst keeping to the Pop genre and Idol culture.
    • CYaRon! (Chika Takami, You Watanabe and Ruby Kurosawa) are the "Smile" subunit, which tends to emphasize lyrics about happiness with bright aesthetics and optimistic feelings. That said, they are willing to slow down to more melancholic ballads to contrast their usual style and provide a sense of versatility in their music style.
    • AZALEA (Kanan Matsuura, Dia Kurosawa and Hanamaru Kunikida) are the "Pure" subunit. While sharing similar lyrical themes to CYaRon!, their vocal style is slower, yet more elegant and smooth whilst also taking instrumental cues from Electronic Music and Soft Rock to present a style of their own.
    • Guilty Kiss (Riko Sakurauchi, Yoshiko Tsushima and Mari Ohara) is the "Cool" subunit, which derives from the other two by instead taking influential cues from music originating from the Western Hemisphere. As a result, the music produced by Guilty Kiss is widely variable which includes, but not limited to, Western Pop, Electronic Dance Music and Hard Rock, which are not commonly seen within music produced by Idols.
  • Despite the efforts taken by the members of the girls to become noteworthy Idols, they were eventually unable to save their school from being shut down. Additionally, they came to the conclusion that trying to be just like Muse would be counterproductive and wouldn't bode well with each of the band members. Hence, they decided it would be best if they instead placed more emphasis on their own beliefs, feelings and they're personal talents in their music. While it has been a tough time trying to maintain being together, their ascension into the Pantheon, courtesy of Ugo and fan demand may help to mitigate that issue. The girls were delighted with the prospect of branching out to a whole new world with a new audience to sing and perform to.
  • Fittingly enough, Aqours's domains have a connection hub to the Water and Moisture section in the House of Nature. Whether it's a symbolic gesture of the group's association to water or that live at a beach town is up for anyone's guess. Not that it's an issue for them, given that it makes Aqours feel more at home and comfortable. This doesn't change the fact that every member is adventurous and spirited enough to travel around and explore.
    • They are amazed by the wildlife the Water and Moisture Sub-House tends to display, with them wanting to hang out with some of the fauna if given the chance. That said, Aqours were pretty blatant in keeping their distance from aquatic predators like Bruce, Meg, the Liopleurodon and the Lagiacrus. The latter three discouraged Aqours with the idea of having a music tour on a cruise ship due to their destructive capabilities, though there are plans by the House of Music to mitigate that chance.
  • They more-or-less figured that Muse would be in the Pantheon before they did, and the fact that they were both in prompted Aqours to consider a meetup at some point, given that Muse was the primary reason why Aqours existed in the first place. And when they did meet... Aqours were rather nervous, considering that their more experienced and superior predecessor may be disappointed at them. On the contrary, while Aqours did get scolded (notable example include Honoka not being happy at Chika being excited at the prospect of her high school shutting down and Umi expressing disappointment at Kanan's recklessness in her planned live performance that ended the first iteration of Aqours and strained her relationship with Mari), praised their efforts regardless, expressed sympathy over their failure, complimented their decision to pursue their own style to save their school and are all too happy to tour together. It took a while, but Aqours finally got the approval they desired from their childhood inspiration.
    • Still, they weren't the only girl groups to ascend. There was also the 765 Pro and LOONA; the former got along pretty well with Muse and the latter were an upstarting act during their own ascension, so they were able to find some sort of common ground with Aqours. 765 Pro saw Aqours as competition and there's the occasional debate on who is better between the two. Even then, there's no enmity to be showcased as the 765 Pro respected Aqours for their journey to become music artists and the two acts are known to complement one another on a regular basis.
    • Another Idol singer was Isola. While initially not on the best of terms, given that she was a villain, Isola has since turned on a new leaf and dedicates a lot of her time to her singing career. Aqours has admitted some respect for her work ethics and seeks to try harder in their performances. They do, however, find Isola a little weird as well, given that one of her ways to keep her career going is by workouts and agriculture. Still, some members of Aqours do have other talents (Kanan being a scuba diver, Ruby being good at sewing and You being skilled in most sports) so there is the idea that they can take jobs specializing in those to earn some cash.
    • Beyond Muse, Aqours also admitted to appreciating Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury primarily due to their heavy influence in their music. It also helps that the two of them have an exuberant stage persona and demeanour, which Aqours take notes on so that they could make their own personal projections during their live tours. On the other side, Michael and Freddie are simply happy to see Aqours see them as an influence.
  • Their concluding perspective towards music is a direct antithesis to what Ernesto de la Cruz would indulge in. Case in point, while Aqours were able to fully accept Muse as their primary inspiration, yet still try to create their own style and stage demeanour, Ernesto took to not just stealing a song, but also murdering the original composer and taking credit for it. But given how everyone now looks at Ernesto, Aqours included, they are obviously not willing to strike a conversation with him, let alone perform together.
    • This did however coincided with the Girl Group meeting up with Miguel Rivera. Aqours expressed their sympathy to the boy when they realized he was prohibited from pursuing his dreams of performing music, mainly due to Ernesto's murder of his great-grandfather, Héctor. Miguel himself reciprocated by giving Aqours credit for giving it they're all in what they love doing most. Additionally, Héctor himself lent them his own gratitude in part for the girls befriending Miguel and they are more than welcome to visit Miguel and Héctor anytime.
  • Regarding music artists they don't like, Aqours would stay away from I-No, which most artists tend to do given the fact that she uses her guitar as a murder weapon and that she unrepentantly likes doing evil things for benefit. Mayhem is another point of issue, if mainly because Euronymous is just so mean-spirited and rude about anything that isn't to do with his interest or what he sees as music. Aqours is also incredibly uncomfortable about Dead, given his circumstances and with the greater controversy surrounding the band itself. That and Mayhem took to insulting Muse for their music and trying to save their school is another reason for Aqours to distance themselves as much as they could from that band.
  • Were saddened to learn of Kousei and Kaori's tale and as a result, Aqours is more than eager to try to help them out. Beyond their love for music, Riko is especially appreciative as she tends to be the member most interest in classical music, which Kousei happens to be very skilled in. Kaori is incredibly energetic like Chika is and being a fellow Sweet Tooth like Yoshiko and Dia would try to hang out with them during their spare time, often going around stores with the latter two to find chocolate and sweets to eat.
  • Like Muse before them, they are respected by the House of Friendship, given that each of them knew one another for years and are thoroughly dedicated to one another. Even then, they're still prone to bickering and teasing one another for their own amusement, but it's customary to make sure they don't let each other down, especially considering Kanan's situation that led to the first iteration of Aqours being closed down.
  • The Investigation Team have a varying relationship with Aqours, though all of them seem to be very amicable. Rise and Yukiko, being fellow School Idols and the former being a singer as well have the best relationship, with Aqours really appreciating their protective nature and for them enjoying their music in return. Riko herself was able to relate to Yu and Yosuke for being fellow immigrants to an isolated town from a large city and the turbulence that comes with it. Additionally, Yu being an Ace meant he found a spirited competitor in You as they're pretty much good in most sports they can participate in and are adequate chefs in their own right.
    • Regarding City-to-Town immigrants, there's also Hilda, who can similarly relate to Riko in that aspect. Being a spirited traveller, she would like to take Riko out on an adventure for fun, and she's stated that the rest of the group are more than welcome to come along. Riko thinks Hilda's experience of trying to adapt in a new environment would make a great theme for a song to write on.
  • Recently, Aqours had an opportunity to collaborate with the famed Vocaloid Idol, Miku Hatsune. The result is a new song: BANZAI! digital trippers.
  • Chika's love for her dog Shiitake would lead her to discover the Canines Sub-House where she would often hang out and play with the many residential dogs there like Hachiko, Krypto and Chibiterasu and Iggy. She's aware of the more aggressive dogs like Zinogre and Cerberus and wisely keeps her distance from them. Because of her weird mindset, she often likes to hypothesize flying around the Pantheon with Krypto or making huge sandcastles or sand statues of her and her bandmates with Iggy.
  • Hanamaru loves tech, which stems from the fact that Uranohoshi doesn't have much going around in regards to technology. So it came as no surprise when Hanamaru wanted to venture to the House of Technology, where she squeed at the sight of several futuristic devices and machinery. Hanamary would often try to get her hands on certain stuff like phones and computers and play around them, in addition to wanting to learn some skills like hacking from Hackerman. Still, she would like some company around her, given that the place she likes to go to also houses such beings like Omega, HAL 9000 and Brainiac.
    • She also became friends with Kayla Day and Summer Smith. With the former, Kayla was eager to teach Hanamaru in how to use a phone and convincing her [Kayla's] father to buy her one. It also helps that both of them struggled in having friendships and Kayla can relate to her in more ways than one. With the latter, Summer is mostly the same with Hanamaru, though she does find her antics with Aqours just as amusing as it is heartwarming. That said, Summer doesn't want Hanamaru to suddenly get introduced to portal-creating devices and go on a dimension-hopping trip like her grandfather and younger brother Rick and Morty, because Hanamaru would likely endanger herself.
  • Ruby would often visit the House of Costumes, given that one of her main talents is at sewing and she does happen to be Aqours's costume manager. She quickly became friends with Rarity, with the unicorn opting to get Ruby to become more creative in her craft. She was intrigued to learn of Shiki Misaki and how she uses her stuffed cat in combat, in addition to being really dedicated to her fashion style. Shiki will see to whether Aqours would approve with a cat-motive at some point, which made Ruby chuckle at the suggestion.
  • Given her Chuunibyou tendencies, Yoshiko can sometimes come off as annoying, though there is some appreciation from fellow deities just like her. Megumin seems to like how she's trying to be edgy and wants to play with her in that sort of antic. Okabe also finds her "Yohane" act to be endearing, though he muses whether she's trying to desperately channel Batman with her deep-voice impersonation. Yoshiko herself seems to be personally excited at the prospect of time-travelling after learning of Okabe going through with it, although the experience was a less-than-pleasant one and Okabe would rather not tell her to do what he did.

Dani Ardor, the May Queen
  • Notable members: Dani Ardor, Pelle
  • Quasideities
  • Symbol: The Sun
  • Theme Music: Hårga, Collapsing (plus this for "sexy" moments and this during the sacrifices)
  • Alignment: Blue-and-Orange Morality, come across as Lawful Evil
  • Portfolio: Perpetrate gory murders during the Sumer Solstice, tend to wear just white, peaceful, nature-loving pagans played for horror
  • Domains: Paganism, Horror, Light, Nature
  • Allies: The Light of Destruction, Eternity Blessing, Sarkicism, The Houyhnhnms
  • Enemies: Los Iluminados, Church of the Broken God and other cults/religious sects, The Flagellant, Alien Empera, Kazuma Kiryu, Goro Majima
  • Complicated Relations: (exclusive to Dani) Laurie Strode, Sidney Prescott, most Ingmar Bergman deities, Lisbeth Salander
  • The Hårga are a pagan commune found in Sweden. They are peaceful, love nature and foster strong bonds with each other. As pleasant as they seem, they harbor a darker side. For one thing, they have a practice of committing suicide upon reaching the age of 72. Also, every 90 years, they hold a series of festivities to coincide with the Summer Solstice, or Midsummer. These festivities just so happen to involve several Human Sacrifices to honor their gods. In preparation for this, the Hårga lure outsiders into their community, whereupon they are murdered in several ways, culminating in the immolation of the bodies. A group of American students who came to study the Hårga learned this in the worst possible way, by getting turned into the sacrifices.
    • The exception was Dani Ardor, a young woman who had been going through some serious emotional trauma because of her sister's suicide that also took their parents. As her half-hearted boyfriend Christian provided less than adequate comfort and his friends only tolerated her, she found herself turning to the Hårga with their sense of togetherness, ending up crowned as their May Queen and becoming part of them. When Christian added on to her suffering by cheating on her with another woman, she had him sacrificed and gleefully watched as Christian was consumed by flames.
  • Their ascension into the Pantheon was an event that brought great joy into the hearts of the Hårga, as they interpreted it as their gods favoring their community and accepting it into their midst. The Hårga celebrated by throwing on another set of festivities, including human sacrifices. Of course, now that they're in the Pantheon, there are several people who have something to say about their ways, so the Hårga can't get away with it so easily, as they came to discover. Despite this discouraging turn of events, they were approached by the Light of Destruction, who professed to be their god and encouraged them to keep up what they're doing, as they would be honoring it. Knowing the Light of Destruction, it's probably taking the Hårga for a ride for entertainment until the day it can achieve the destruction of everything. The Hårga are blissfully (perhaps willingly) unaware of this, denouncing anyone who tries to expose the truth to them as liars (it does help that the Light was the first to reach out to them).
  • The Hårga's isolationist and pacifist nature means they are not the sort who go picking fights and they mostly keep to themselves if they can help it (unless it's time for some Human Sacrifice, anyway). Unfortunately for them, the Pantheon is home to many other cults who are not so... "nice", and they perceive the Hårga as competition, so the commune is the occasional target of violent reprisals by those other cults. The Hårga tend to be on the losing side of this as they are not very powerful, although they retaliate in their own sneaky ways, such as kidnapping certain members from those cults and turning them into sacrifices. The cult war rages on.
    • Some have noted similarities between the Hårga and Los Iluminados, as the latter are also located in Europe (albeit in the almost opposite end of the continent) and those who have dealt with them remember doing so during the daylight. The similarities pretty much end there though, and the two groups don't get along since the goal of Los Iluminados is to use Las Plagas to take over the world, an hefty goal which the withdrawn Hårga couldn't care less about, although Dani has been known to negotiate with her counterpart Saddler to get his group to leave the Hårga in peace.
    • They manage to see eye-to-eye with adherents of Sarkicism due to their preference for a rural way of living and a religious emphasis on organic matter, thus forging an uneasy alliance between them that should nonetheless give much-needed support to the Hårga against the cults that would rather see them eradicated. Of course this means Sarkicism's foes, the Church of the Broken God, are practically automatically the Hårga's foes as well.
    • The Hårga's nature as a cult also invokes the wrath of certain individuals such as the Flagellant (even if he comes from an extremist religious sect himself) and the Highwayman, given they've had to deal with many cultists while lurking around the Ancestor's Darkest Estate. For that matter, one can probably trust that any victims of cults' practices would loathe the Hårga and be particularly disturbed by the sincere cheerfulness with which they commit their atrocities as if they were at all natural.
    • Kazuma Kiryu and Goro Majima on separate occasions have faced the Order of Munan Chohept Onast, a cult-like organization under the facade of a religion wherein disciples are unknowingly conned and brainwashed to forget about those important to them so that they could easily be manipulated by the leaders. The Hårga manage to be way more alarming than that cult from Kazuma and Goro's point of view, given their tactics to draw in adherents may be different, but still have similar effects, not to mention that with their penchant for human sacrificing, they are way deadlier. The two seem determined to stop the Hårga from committing more crimes and possibly save Dani.
  • They have been promised protection by Eternity Blessing after the Alliance observed how they lived in communion with nature, and they generally hold up their community as an example of the ideal they would like humanity to achieve. Of course, for the most part they also refuse to comment on or outright ignore their more sinister practices. Something to the effect of how it's not their concern how humans treat each other. Anyway, the GUAN's interest in the Hårga is certainly a boon for their community and their position in the Pantheon.
  • Can be counted among the only humans (or Yahoos, as the case may be) the notoriously misanthropic Houyhnhnms have any regard for, mostly because the Hårga's ways are considered by the civilized horses to be some steps above the average human's and closer to themselves. The Houyhnhnms may consider sparing them from their plan to castrate every human to drive the species to extinction, as long as the Hårga retain their commune's standards. The Hårga themselves seem to regard the horses as some sort of gods, which the Houyhnhnms react to with condescension due to their atheism (though at the same time they seem rather pleased with themselves).
  • As the main object of their worship is the Sun, it is to be expected that they are opposed to those who would seek to impose eternal night on the world. They seem to have settled on Alien Empera as the Sun's greatest enemy as foretold in their mythology, after hearing of his attempt at engulfing the Sun in darkness. There are certainly other harbingers of eternal night/darkness in the Pantheon, but the Hårga reason them as submissive to Empera in some way, like Nightmare Moon being Empera's steed or The Night's King his army general, sometimes to their displeasure. Despite all this, one shouldn't assume that they are completely intolerant of nights, even long nights. After all, they are Swedish; much like they have very long days in Summer, so do they have very long nights in Winter.
  • Dani's story is fairly divisive, with some sympathizing with her and understanding why she reacted the way she did to Christian's callousness while she was under such terrible emotional trauma. Some would even go as far as saying Christian had it coming. Others strongly disagree with that notion and see Dani as having crossed a Moral Event Horizon from which there is no return, and that she shouldn't be considered separately from the Hårga. These considerations are why, even though Dani is effectively a Final Girl, Laurie Strode and Sidney Prescott are not entirely sure how to regard her. They've all been though some pretty messed up stuff that impacted their lives and their families forever, and Sidney in particular can relate to Dani's feelings in being betrayed by Christian (in a different way), but Dani joining the "monsters" is something rather new that they're not sure how to take. At least, they're both of the opinion that Dani should be extracted from the Hårga somehow and likely sent into some intense therapy.
  • Swedish deities such Lisbeth Salander and... every Ingmar Bergman deity are not sympathetic to the Hårga, no matter how much "culture" they bring, but they do show concern for Dani due to her tragic life and resulting emotional problems and some fear that the Hårga, with their strange ways, may not keep her safe forever. Lisbeth and the Bergman deities are pretty willing to take in Dani should she ever run into any kind of trouble such as the Hårga turning against her. However, it would seem that Dani is really not in a good place mentally at the moment, as she reacts rather poorly to any suggestions of leaving the Hårga and demands that those trying to help her be sacrificed. Regardless of that, Lisbeth in particular might go with that extraction idea if push comes to shove.
  • The Hårga were once surprised to see a strange, perky girl with a very noticeable braided hairdo, Pippi Longstocking, skipping into their midst without a care in the world. They were even more astonished to see her have no problem lifting up one of their huge sacred trees. They thought a girl like this would be a great addition to their commune, but as it turns out, Pippi isn't one to be tied down, as she likes her independence and being able to skip all around the Pantheon all she wants. Ultimately she left the Hårga under the impression that they were very nice folks. Upon hearing about this, Lisbeth tried to warn her that the Hårga were very dangerous and she shouldn't go to them again, though she couldn't quite bring herself to explain why as the nastier things the Hårga aren't something you easily explain to a child. Still, Pippi is strong both in mind and body, so Lisbeth thinks it'll be okay.

    Mary Lennox
Mary Lennox, Goddess of Those Who Bring Gardens Back to Life (Mistress Mary Quite Contrary)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marylennox_1.jpg
  • Quasideity
  • Symbol: A robin next to a key
  • Theme: The Secret Garden Piano Theme
  • Alignment: Neutral Good (formerly True Neutral)
  • Portfolio: Children Are Innocent, Spoiled Brat No More, Defrosting Ice Queen, Starts the Story with Everyone in Her Household Dead, Fish out of Water, Follows a Robin to Find a Key to the Secret Garden, Friendless Background, Hope Sprouts Eternal, Jerk with a Heart of Gold, Lonely Rich Kid, Parental Neglect, The Only Girl in a Trio also Consisting of Dickon and Colin
  • Domains: Orphans, Gardens, Isolation, Happiness
  • Heralds: Dickon Sowerby (close friend) and Colin Craven (her cousin)
  • Allies: Spring Sprite, Sara Crewe, Pollyanna Whittier, Anne Shirley, Heidi, James Henry Trotter, Chance the Gardener, Pacifica Northwest, Charlotte LaBouff, Crazy Dave, E.T., WALL-E and EVE, Dudley
  • Enemies: Princess Morbucks, Eliza and Neal Reagan, Lady Tremaine
  • Fears: Flowey
  • Mary Lennox grew up in India, pampered by servants. Her neglectful parents had not wanted her and did her best to ignore her, leading the servants to cave to her every whim so she would not bother the masters. Then they died, leaving Mary an orphan. She was sent to live with her absent uncle, Lord Craven, at Misselthwaite Manor in Yorkshire. Faced with much stricter and more dour conditions, Mary at first felt sad and lonely, but also intrigued by the house's secrets, including her bedridden cousin Colin and a garden that was long abandoned. Lord Craven's late wife had cared for the garden and it had fallen into disrepair after her death, as Lord Craven, in his grief, could not muster the interest to care about it, nor even care about his son Colin who seemed fated to die young. Mary adopted the garden as her secret place, and caring for it made her life at the manor much more bearable. Her efforts to bring a long-neglected garden back to life led to redemption and growth: for her, who went from a selfish brat to a caring and independent girl, for Lord Craven, who could finally overcome his grief and properly love his son, and for Colin, who abandoned his delusions of sickness and willed himself to become strong.
  • Mary was in her garden, tending to it as usual, when she came across a mysterious being, the Spring Sprite. While the Sprite couldn't really speak to her, Mary saw that she seemed to admire the garden very much and couldn't help but boast about how she'd taken such good care of it after it had been neglected for so long. With a bit of help from Dickon and Colin, of course. Mary is very proud of her secret garden, in any case, and the Spring Sprite was impressed enough to beckon Mary to follow her. Mary curiously did so, following a path through the maze she hadn't noticed before, and that's how she wound up in the Spring Sprite's temple in the Pantheon. Mary thought the Spring Sprite's dwellings really put her garden to shame, but the Sprite seemed to have a different opinion. The Sprite asked the Main House to ascend Mary, a request that was acquiesced to once they saw the great meaning that Mary's garden holds for her and her family.
  • It was perhaps an inevitability for her to meet Sara Crewe; Sara was certainly stoked to meet someone whom she was told she had a closer connection to than she could guess. The two became quick friends, given they're the same age, come from the same culture and share similar upbringing (both of them having been born and raised in India only to be transplanted to England due to various circumstances), in addition to the pain they went through when they lost their families (or thought they lost in Sara's case). Despite their sufferings, they both managed to pucker up and bring joy to the homes they were placed in, as well as redemption to the people around them. Pollyanna Whittier and Anne Shirley were also quickly added to her growing list of friends for similar reasons, forming a circle of likeminded people. It's generally agreed that as positive as Mary has become, she is still the surliest (some would say the most down-to-earth instead) among these girls (which isn't a bad thing as it balances them out a bit).
    • A later addition to the group was Heidi, who was first discovered by Mary in the secret garden, with the bright-eyed little Swiss girl having stumbled her way there by the will of the Pantheon. The meeting was probably fated as the two had some very remarkable similarities, being friends with a formerly wheelchair-bound child who they helped get better, as well as with a boy who taught them lots of things about nature and especially animals. Once Heidi properly ascended, she became an obvious addition to Mary's established circle of friends.
  • One of her first male friends made in the Pantheon turned out to be James Henry Trotter after hearing how his parents were killed by a rhinoceros and he was brought to live with his evil step-aunts, who treated him like a slave and were entirely willing to kill him to conceal their abuse. While Mary has heard some of her other friends like Sara Crewe say they were forced into labor, the extremes that James' aunts were willing to take were quite new and shocking to her. She's all the happier that James still managed to find his happy ending with the help of his friends despite his particularly terrible circumstances. Speaking of said friends, James endeavored to show her the crocodile tongues that made them and a peach enormous, thinking she might like to apply them to her garden. Mary thinks it's fun to imagine what would happen, but given her garden is contained in a maze, she feels attempting to create anything larger than normal there would lead to disaster.
  • She is sometimes called upon other deities to take care of other gardens and show just how good she can be at it. Through this, she has sometimes teamed up with fellow gardener Chance, leading to them becoming friends eventually. Given Chance has a childlike manner of thinking and gardening is quite literally his entire life, he gets along pretty easily with Mary and the two often get involved in conversations about gardening that last for hours, admittedly with Chance doing most of the talking. Mary takes all he says to heart and feels she always learns a lot of useful new things for her garden in her talks with Chance.
  • Her well-kept garden has led to an unusual encounter with a couple of strange yet oddly cute creatures made of metal who seemed very interest in the garden despite the fact that nothing about themselves was organic. Mary would learn that these creatures were called robots and those specific two are WALL-E and EVE, who come from a future planet Earth that was completely ravaged by pollution and was just beginning to see the first signs of plant life in a long time, likely thanks to WALL-E dilligently cleaning the planet from trash for centuries. While she finds it upsetting to hear what the world might come to in the future, Mary rejoiced on hearing that there is still hope for a better future and it was signalled by one little sprout tucked away in a boot, which WALL-E and EVE did their best to protect. Because of this, Mary welcomes the two lovebird robots into her temple as honorary gardeners of sorts.
  • Another bizarre creature that showed a strong interest in her garden was ET, an alien botanist. Mary at first would say that he's frankly quite ugly to look at, but she changed her mind and was incredibly amazed by the alien after she saw him bring a wilted flower back to life seemingly just with the power of his mind. Being a botanist, ET is in fact quite interested in studying Mary's garden and shows scientific interest in how gardens or just the sight of a tiny plant can affect people psychologically, finding the case of the secret garden to be a particularly fascinating object to study. Mary's stance is that he's welcome to come around whenever he wants, especially after hearing about his general goodwill towards humans and particularly his friendship with a human boy called Elliott.
  • She is very ashamed of having been a Spoiled Brat in the past, and while she feels she should help others overcome this flaw before it consumes them and completely warp their view of the world, as she once helped Colin, she has come to realize that there are some who are beyond help, having no willingness to change their ways. This includes Princess Morbucks, as well as the Reagans, with Mary finding them to be intolerable even compared to how she herself used to be, since they will actively try to hurt others for whatever capricious reason. Charlotte LaBouff is great to hang out with though, as even though she is obviously very spoiled even into her adult years, she is a legitimately good person who thinks about other people's feelings; the two read stories in Mary's garden every now and then. She also met Pacifica Northwest, who was extremely haughty for a large part of her young life because of her parents' bad influence, but fortunately that changed thanks to the Pines twins. Mary can certainly relate to being brought down from a high horse and knows how both painful and self-improving that can be, leading her to become pretty close friends with Pacifica.
  • She absolutely hates Lady Tremaine for being an incredibly callous and selfish mother who raised two spoiled brats of her own, encouraging their bad behavior and yet at the same time treating them like her minions and a stepladder to a more comfortable life for herself. Nor can Mary forgive Tremaine for turning Cinderella, her stepdaughter, into her personal cleaning lady and forcing her to do whatever task she could think of, all to put her down. Even Mrs. Medlock didn't treat Mary like that, even if she was rigid and unkind to her a lot of the time. It's a good thing that Cinderella eventually found an escape from her clutches, but Mary is personally happier about Anastasia, one of Tremaine's spoiled daughters, realizing how unhappy she was and making an effort to grow out of it and find her own way in life, away from her controlling mother.
  • Occasionally catches a glimpse of Flowey peeking at her garden before retreating underground when he realizes he's been spotted. Mary has heard of the many atrocities Flowey committed or attempted to commit in the Underground, including attempts to murder children for the hell of it, so she is very wary of him. On the other hand, she also knows about his tragic past as Asriel Dreemurr and being killed by humans, and she feels intensely sorry for him in that capacity. Turns out, she need not fear Flowey at all, since he has actually reformed in the Pantheon, but that is a secret known to only a few and she is not included in that circle as of currently. His interest in her is due to her having taken such obvious good care of her garden, and he wonders if they could someday be friends. He doesn't take it kindly when someone threatens Mary.
  • Has a healthy business relationship with Crazy Dave, who generously supplies her with all sorts of things she might need for her garden at prices that everyone considers a steal, including plants to serve as sentries against some zombie invasion or another Mary keeps hearing him rave about but has yet to experience personally. Seeing his kindness, Mary is both grateful to him and polite enough not to make remarks on his bizarre behavior to his face or to anyone else.
  • Against all odds, this little girl found her way inside the House of Combat one day after hearing the rumors of a rose garden in one of its temples. There, she met the British boxer Dudley, and admired his well-cared for rose garden. She then asked him if it was possible if she could "have a bit of earth" so she could have a patch of roses in her own garden. Dudley graciously agreed, being glad to spread the beauty of roses all around, and ever since, Mary comes every now and then to his temple to talk about the progress on that rose patch and get further advice from Dudley.
  • "If you look the right way, you can see the whole world is a garden."
