Nightmare Fuel / The Bourne Series

Go To

The franchise in general:

  • Some shadowy spy agency that can use any surveillance camera in the world and knows everything about the life of the people who cross path with Bourne within minutes and won't hesitate to send killers after them because they know too much? That's some premium Paranoia Fuel.

The Bourne Identity:

  • Bourne sticks a ballpen right into the hand of the first assassin who crosses his path.
    • Then said assassin, without any hint of hesitation whatsoever, smashes through a window and throws himself over the balcony to his death after he is disarmed. It is so sudden that Marie can't even find it in herself to scream, unlike the terrified pedestrians on the street below.

The Bourne Ultimatum:

  • We finally see the gruesome process David "Jason Bourne" Webb was put through to become an emotionless killing machine in flashbacks, and it's not pretty. Specially when he has to kill a complete stranger in cold blood (a criminal? A random civilian? There's no way to know...) to complete the training and be inducted in Treadstone, and obliges. All supervised by the creepy Dr. Albert Hirsch.

The Bourne Legacy:

  • After Marta Shearing witnesses her colleague shoot everyone in her workroom, the CIA sent a team of therapists pretending to see if she's got PTSD. Then, suddenly, one of them holds her tight, while another forces her gun on her hand and presses it down to her head so it would look like she killed herself. Cross' timely intervention thankfully prevents her death. And the worst part? The CIA "therapists" almost get away with it.
