While this fanfic does have some Heartwarming moments; it's not afraid to enter the Darker and Edgier territory or the Bloodier and Gorier one.
- The fact that Gabriel has now set his sights on the chaos pearls is unsettling enough for there is no telling how much damage he can cause if he ever gets his hands on them.
- The revelation of the Purple Shogun, a past user of the Butterfly Miraculous, can be described as this. The Nomicon and Ninja Prime showed Randy a scene where the Purple Shogun used his Miraculous to give powers to the villagers to fight alongside the Ninja; while it was cool at first, it turned nightmarish when the Shogun vanished and the people drove into despair for they missed the power they onced had. This made them vulnerable enough to be stanked by the Sorcerer into butterfly monsters that razed the village. While the Ninja was successful in destanking them, the carnage occured was so intense that it caused Randy's feet to buckle.
- Theresa's Akumatization into Jeerleader; bad enough she can make people do what she wants with her Compelling Voice, she also has pyrokinesis which she uses in conjunction with her twirling skills. When Ladybug yells at Jeerleader instead of helping her, the Akumatized villain loses it and punches the herione so hard that she broke her nose, causing it to bleed. You've read it right, folks! Jeerleader caused Ladybug to bleed! This action caused Chat Noir to angrily bash Jeerleader's head with his baton which only made Jeerleader even angrier. It gets even worse when he tries to use his Cataclysm to destroy the villainess's staff, the way she was dodging there was a chance that he might have accidently touched and killed her instead of the staff hadn't Rena Rouge and Ninja pushed out of the way.
- What's even more frightening was the fact that as the fight went on, Jeerleader dwelled deeper and deeper into her rage which not only made her more stronger but also causing her to slowly go off the deep end. The story even describes her as slowly losing her sanity to the point that she had no qualms in killing the Parisian duo. Even more unsettling, Shadow Moth continues to encourage this, not giving a damn that his latest target may lose herself or not.
- Jeerleader finally drove the Parisian duo into a corner by having them surrounded in a flame circle so hot that the heat can be felt through their indestructible suits. Ladybug couldn't do anything but apologize to Jeerleader for yelling at her, only for the Akumatized villain to angrily brush it off as she prepares to kill the French heroes and she would've been successful in doing it had Randy not showed up on time.
- The fact that Jeerleader came close to killing Ladybug and Chat Noir is terrifying as it makes clear the type of Akumatized villains that Ladybug and Chat Noir will be facing during their time in Norrisville. Gabriel only recently discovered the amount of negative energy is far greater than it was in Paris. As Marinette puts it:
Marinette: This place is a lot more dangerous than Paris, isn't it? - While the threat of Jeerleader was finally over with; Randy stopping the Akumatized villain in his civilian identity has caused him to be placed on Shadow Moth's hit list, with the villain being furious over the fact that his near victory was robbed by an average teenager in his eyes. Considering this is a guy who isn't very picky with choosing his victims, there is no telling what Gabriel will do get his revenge on Randy.
- Cecil's severe bullying of Marinette poses as a case of Realism-Induced Horror.
