- Gaisoulg's appearance, sword and shield style, and Evil Counterpart status reflects Wolzard, while being Cursed Armor that inflicts Demonic Possession on its wearer is similar to the Armour of Darkness and Dogold.
- Right off the bat there are nods to Kyōryū Sentai Zyuranger, with our heroes coming from an ancient tribe and having a Limited Wardrobe with just their "tribal" garments. They're even Older Than They Look. Both Zyuranger and Ryusoulger also have Monsters of the Week based on mythological creatures.
- The series also has nods to Seijuu Sentai Gingaman, with the Ryusoulgers coming from an ancient tribe hidden from humans, are part of a long lineage of Rangers that came before them, and use swords as their main weapon.
- The series pays homage to Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger.
- Kyoryuger also had a female ankylosaurus Ranger, who was even referred to as "Strong Lady" in-universe.
- All Ryusoulgers can use an armored form similar to the Kyoryugers, except that every Ryusoul creates differently shaped armor on top of the unique special move granted.
- Ryusoul Black's visor has a similar shape with Gosei Black's.
- The first episode describes the Kishiryu as a "greater power".
- The title of episode 5 is "Hell's Guard Dog".
- Episode 6 is not the first time a food truck played a major role.
- In the same episode, Koh deliberately lets the Minusaur get close enough to bite him, just so he can snap off one of its fangs. Not to stab it with, but you know ShinkenRed would be proud.
- The final fight of episode 8 calls back to certain past Pinks singing as a plot point, like Tokusou Sentai Dekaranger and the V-Cinema for Samurai Sentai Shinkenger. Except it's an outright parody, as Asuna's singing is terrible.
- Episode 9 has Melto having an argument with Asuna regarding of thinking/planning ahead and having strategy vs. being headstrong and acting first since thinking can be susceptible to attacks. Leo and Tusk had that same argument, only in this case, Melto tells her and Koh that having a strategy is important while telling them that he trusts them.
- Episode 10 shows Asuna having Lucky level fortune.
- Wiserue's catchphrase ("It's showtime") and gimmick (driving Minusaur victims to the Despair Event Horizon) is pretty much a homage to Kamen Rider Wizard. Episode 11 even features him kidnapping a character named Haruto.
- One ability of the Shen Minosaur is that it can utilize an illusionary effect on the Rangers and perceive their visions much like Kata did.
- Episode 15 features the Monster of the Week possessing magnetic powers and using them to "break the bonds between people", much like in Episode 11 of Gosei Sentai Dairanger.
- Episode 18 has Kleon with some Drunn Soldiers forming a track and them saying "Now departing!"
- Gigant KishiRyuOh's Gigant Double Bite bears some resemblance with Kakure Daishogun's Iron Fist God Finish.
- Also from that same episode, Canalo's reaction to Kouze revealing that she's married involves some robotic movements and sound effects not unlike Rento Makina/Kamen Rider Kikai or the Humanoise.
- Episode 21's plot features the dead — including old enemies and the protagonists' loved ones — being seemingly resurrected, which also happened in episode 24 of Doubutsu Sentai Zyuohger.
- Gigant Kishiryu-Oh eh? The fist-bump combination sequence has also been done before. That double-punch finisher? Seems oddly familiar...
- ShineRaptor and ShadowRaptor are black and white velociraptors that combine side-by-side, bringing to mind Kamen Rider Double FangJoker - not only is the Fang Memory a velociraptor, but the black and white colors are on the same respective sides. Sentai-wise they are one to GaoBear and GaoPolar, both being black and white Sibling Yin-Yang mecha, the raptors being light/darkness rather than the Gaos' ice/fire.
- The Golem Minosaur's EXP value (506) is the same as the Hazard Level of another Golem-themed monster from GoGo Sentai Boukenger.
- It goes two levels deep when you get into the premise of that arc - the Minusaur and its abilities are based off the Death Dopant, which appeared with Double FangJoker in Movie Wars 2010, which also features Miyu Sawai (Master Pink) in a vital role.
- The Kanae Soul and its ability to grant any wish nods back to all the times this sort of MacGuffin reared its head, like Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.
- Episode 26 has a sea-creature Minusaur that's covered in eyes and able to see incoming attacks from any angle, which is basically Ikagen from Kyuranger all over again.
- From the same episode, Koh shielded Nada from the Dodomeki Minosaur's effect, turning him berserk from his happiness yanked from him and eventually having the resolve to recover, with flashbacks of him and his friends that helped him calm down, bringing to mind when Ryouma was affected by the Art of Deception.
- Episode 28 has Asuna enduring an extreme amount of excruciating pain while the Beelzebub Minosaur was inside her and being forced to rest so she can recover not unlike a Bugster-infected patient while Koh and Melto shrink themselves and enter inside her in an attempt save her.
- Towards the end of episode 30, Koh gets attacked from the back with the following episode has him obtaining a new power, sort of like what happened with Lucky.
- Episode 31 brings a few Kyoryuger references, such as Koh's fight against Gaisoulg at some point involves him being shirtless, him using HieHie Soul bringing to mind Kyoryu Gold, and YokuRyuOh having the same motif and similar attacks to Pteraiden-Oh.
- The Fairy Minosaur from that same episode bears some resemblance with a Sabbat.
- The giant fight scene contains ice and snow, similar with Abaranger's summer movie and Epic 3 of Goseiger.
- After Oto is saved, she's seen jumping off of Pterardon in the same fashion as Choujin Sentai Jetman.
- The Max Ryusoul Changer bears some design similarities with the Super GekiClaw while giving the Red a new form containing the word "Max" and being a hand-held weapon that can accommodate 2 collectibles like the Twin Breaker.
- Nada's Redemption Equals Death and passing on his powers to Koh to become his Super Mode has shades of similarity to Burai's death and passing on his Dragon Armor to Geki for his Super Mode.
- The trials in general seem to bring to mind of Tessai's lessons to the six Kyoryugers. Both scenarios even have the Reds learning the hard way of being stronger through overcoming their personal challenges and being the last to finish them.
- Towa and Bamba climb a mountain to reach the area of where they start their trials, similar with Lesson 10 of Gekiranger and episode 22 of Gokaiger.
- Seto's trial for Melto in episode 35 is a challenge that emphasizes courage.
- Episode 36's Victim of the Week is a woman named Saki who just so happens to be a racer. For an added bonus, Towa's first human friend in episode 5 was named Sanae and befriends Saki in the episode.
- Kyoko Taniguchi, episode 37's Victim of the Week, tends to be an Education Mama to her son Ichiro, not unlike what happened with Goh Omura and his mother, even reconciling with him after realizing what happened regarding the villains. Speaking of Ichiro, he wore a blue colored vest that's somewhat like the the one Kotaro wears.
- Episode 40 had Towa having to sit out of the action due to an issue with one of his legs but was still determined to help his team against the monster they were facing. A similar predicament also happened with Moune, who like Towa, was also a younger sibling of her team's Black and has a tiger-themed mecha.
- Episode 42 features a book on curry written by Asao Hyou.
- Episode 45 has Master Black reveal in a flashback that after he was defeated by Pricious, he fell down a crevice not unlike Hyuuga.
- The same episode has Gunjoji telling the Ryusoulgers to not underestimate Pricious.
- Ryusoul Brown basically is one to Richard Brown/Shinken Brown. It is also a repaint of a Black Knight armor like Wolzard Fire and has the same comedic antics as Edith as Dark Ghost and Jun Honganji/Kamen Rider Jun.
- Pricious revealing to the Ryusoulgers that Eras created both the Ryusoul Tribe and the Druidon Tribe, basically making the Ryusoulger powers sort of like the Cross of Fire.
- Eras's desire to protect the Earth also makes her basically a darker version of GaoGod.
- Eras absorbing Pricious into her to make her own body and begin her ultimatum, much like how N Ma did to Titan.
- Koh attempting to reseal Eras with a new ability but some unforseen circumstances prevent that, seemingly like with Dokoku.
- Koh getting stabbed to death by Eras echoes Shinji getting stabbed by a Raydragoon while protecting a little girl. His conversation with Eras while being dead also brings to mind of Yui and Shiro's conversation while telling her of the same emotional experiences that Naga said to Balance and Lucky, and him being resurrected courtesy of a collectible and his friends reaching out to him brings to mind of Gentaro being in a similar scenario but prior to him reacting Cosmic States.
- Towa's parting conversation with Bamba has him putting a similar smiley-smiley posture to the older sibling.
- Apparently, Asuna started teaching a class of students, which was also Hammie's dream.
- As a whole the ending is rather similar to the ending of Power Rangers: Dino Thunder in which all (if not most of) the mechas are destroyed through a Heroic Sacrifice and the team loses their powers, but still go on with their lives.
