The Trope:
A character is known for their propensity to spin engaging tales. May or may not be the narrator.
- Come back to the unabridged version, and I shall tell you a story of stories long gone...
The Series:
An anthology series covering either old European folk tales (if John Hurt is narrating) or Classical Greek mythology (if Michael Gambon is), usually with interjections from a dog, and always with intricate puppet work.
- The best place by the fire is kept by the unabridged version.
