  • Yugi and his friends bond with their monsters immediately, especially Téa and Tristan.
  • After destroying a Kamakiriman that was attacking Yugi, Celtic Guardian kneels before him and pledges his loyalty and service for the duration of the game. He even makes it all the way to the end, while in the card game he was often destroyed quickly.
  • Téa uses her Happy Lover to heal Tristan when he's been injured, and later she heals Solomon Muto and Yugi with it.
  • Tristan nicknames his Thunder Kid "Little Dude."
  • Yugi gives his grandpa a huge hug when they reunite in episode 3 and tells him not to scare him like that, to which his grandpa agrees.
  • As the group camps out in a forest, Yugi is concerned because they haven't found Joey yet. Téa is confident he'll show up soon, and Tristan says that he can take care of himself. Almost immediately after, Joey arrives.
  • Yami Yugi refuses to let the others fight La Jinn out of worry they'll be hurt, but Joey tells him to let them help because they can't stand to see him get hurt. When Neo Aqua Madoor also attacks them, Yugi is determined to let everyone fight.
Yugi, to Yami: Don't even ''think'' of trying this alone! We need to work as a team!
  • In episode 6, Yugi collapses from the strain of wearing the Duel Armor. Joey and Tristan want to pass the next challenge on their own as a favor to him, and everyone starts to move out, but Téa is visibly worried about Yugi's well-being, which Joey pick up on. He tells her if she wants to stay to look after him she can, and a later scene cuts to her gently taking Yugi's hand in hers as he sleeps.
  • After Tristan feels bad about Yugi having to save them again, Joey reminds him of the ideas he came up with, and says that it was a team effort that saved the day.
  • The start of episode 7 has Joey run off on his own to find a clue the group needs to proceed. While Tristan is skeptical, Téa and Yugi are supportive, reminding him that if it hadn't been for Joey they'd have never entered the Capsule Monster world or found the map.
    • Later in the episode, Joey has been possessed by a brainwashed Red-Eyes Black Dragon and attacks Yugi and his friends. Neither party wants to fight the other, and the real Joey is able to stop attacking long enough to be freed.
  • After Joey saves Red-Eyes Black Dragon, Yami Yugi talks about how brave he was. Joey shrugs off his heroism and says any one of his friends would've done the same thing if they were in his shoes. His friends then remind Joey that he saved the day, not them. Joey then pets the dragon before claiming it as a Capsule Monster.
  • After wandering around in a maze and finding nothing but dead ends, Téa thinks of how Yugi and Joey would never throw in the towel, inspiring her to not give up.
  • Téa, Joey, Tristan, and Grandpa using their monsters to protect the villagers while Yugi fights the Five-Headed Dragon. When Yami Yugi is on the ropes, Téa plans to jump in and save him despite the danger.
  • Baby Dragon, Happy Lover, and Thunder Kid sacrificing themselves to save Yugi's grandpa.
Solomon Muto: You sacrificed your oen safety to protect an old man...
  • After Shovel Crusher and Dark Witch are destroyed, Joey is incensed and moves to attack Reshef directly.
Joey: I'll teach you to mess with my friends!
  • The final battle comes down to Yugi refusing to allow his friends to be sacrificed to obtain victory and summoning all of his monsters to protect them. This show of friendship causes the others' dragons to combine with his armor, forming the Armor of Unity. Yami Yugi then punches a hole straight through Reshef's head, obliterating it and Alexander's evil side.
