    To Me, My X-Men
  • Jubilee using her powers while dancing with Sunspot. Long time ago, she was so afraid of herself and what she could do. Now, she's lighting up the dance floor like she has every right to do so.
    • Jubilee was the Naïve Newcomer in the original series, here she's the one who is helping Roberto come to terms with being a mutant.
  • Bishop is shown to have Gambit's back during the fight with the Sentinels, taking an energy blast that was directed at him and absorbing it with his powers. This is especially notable when you remember that the whole reason he went back in time in the first place was to kill Gambit.note
  • After defeating Master Mold and his sentinels, Valerie Cooper has Trask arrested and thanks Cyclops on a job well done. However, Cyclops reminds Val that it was a team effort and we see a shot of the X-Men laughing and chatting along side with the UN soldiers, showing that relations between humans and mutants are getting better.
  • Before Scott and Jean announce that they’ll be leaving the X-Men to raise their baby, he apologizes to the team for being hard on them earlier.
  • A Freeze-Frame Bonus shows a Daily Bugle article with pictures from Peter Parker... and written by Eddie Brock. Implying that not only did Eddie somehow manage to come back from his Heroic Sacrifice, but his Heel–Face Turn actually stuck to the point he got rehired by the Bugle and now works with his former Arch-Enemy.

    Mutant Liberation Begins
  • Magneto has already taken steps on becoming heroic after saving a kid and a female firefighter (both of them humans) trapped on a broken-down Ferris wheel.
    • He even saves the Morlocks from the Friends of Humanity, without killing a single one. He shows kindness to Leech and would use Xavier's wealth to give the Morlocks refuge on the mutant nation of Genosha.
  • Despite the team's reservations regarding Magneto, Beast, Storm and Rogue were openly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt (with both Beast and Storm stating that it is what their friend Charles Xavier wanted).
  • Storm comforting Jean, after she tells her that she is anxious about their baby being born a mutant:
Jean: Ever since I was in Gyrich's mind, I can't shake this feeling something terrible is coming. Boy do I sound like a fool...
Storm: No, Jean. (places a supportive hand to Jean's) You sound like a mother.
  • Magneto confides in Rogue about how he is determined to honour Charles Xavier's legacy and last wish, even if it means having to try and work with people who understandably hate him. He also implies, and Rogue quickly figures out, that he wore his iconic helmet not to keep Charles out of his mind, but because if he could feel how much his friend still loved him, he'd never be able to go forward with his crusade.
  • When the government arrives at the mansion to arrest Magneto, the X-Men come to his aid, regardless on how they feel about him.
  • When a doctor refuses to treat Jean because she's a mutant, Wolverine is ready to cut him up unless he helps her.
    • Rogue is understandably very nervous when Cyclops asked her to absorb the doctor's medical knowledge fearing she may accidentally touch the baby and harm him, Jean immediately assures Rogue that she absolutely trusts her.
  • Storm selflessly taking a shot meant for Magneto.
  • Magneto is so furious about what happened to Storm, that he transports X-Cutioner and the judges into the atmosphere, threatening to kill them all but he ultimately shows them mercy because it's what Charles would have done.
    • With this act Magneto proves that Charles may not have been wrong after all in choosing him as his successor as leader of the X-Men.
  • Jean successfully gives birth to a baby boy, named Nathan "Charles" Summers.
  • Following the events of the trial, Magneto and Cyclops share a quiet moment after Cyclops brings Magneto a cup of coffee. Cyclops marvels at Genosha possibly becoming a part of the UN, and Magneto gives some sincere advice to his former enemy.
  • Jean, who very recently gave birth, is there to comfort Storm as Beast gives her the results of the examination into what happened to her: that she may have permanently lost her powers.
  • Former enemy or no, it is heartwarming to see Rogue and Magneto find some comfort in each other. In her case she can touch another and in his she helps him deal with losing Charles.
  • Wolverine and Morph's friendship is as strong as ever. The ending of this episode shows a particularly unique example, as Morph invites Logan to take a break from his brooding and have some beer and chips. When Logan continues pouting, Morph shifts into Sabretooth. In theory, jumping on Logan's Berserk Button like this should be a huge violation of his trust, but the bond between Logan and Morph is such that Morph knows exactly how to tap said button just enough to knock Logan out of his funk. Logan, in turn, responds by playfully unsheathing his claws and leaping from his tree for some horseplay while audibly cackling just to drive the point home.

    Fire Made Flesh
  • While barely conscious for the first half of the episodes, when Jean Grey’s friends are in trouble she suddenly appears and saves them from the demons and monstrosities they face single handedly.
  • Despite being terrified and clearly scarred by him, Morph offers to lead the X-Men to where Mister Sinister is. Morph's reason is simple: they won't allow anyone else to get hurt by Sinister anymore. They also make it clear that Madelyne might be their adversary, but she is also a victim of Mister Sinister due to mind control.
    • Wolverine puts a comforting hand on Morph's shoulder as they explain who Mister Sinister is to the group. While Wolverine doesn't always show it, he cares deeply for his friend and knows what they have previously gone through.
    • Later, as they're about to storm Sinister's hideout, Magneto takes a second to put a comforting hand on Morph's shoulder as well. Yes, they're on the same side, but Magneto barely interacted with Morph before this series, and a tiny act of compassion like this is just further proof of Magneto's genuine efforts to work with his former enemies.
  • Rogue and Magneto were out doing...whatever when Madelyne became the Goblin Queen and attacked the X-Men. When they return and find the mansion a mess and the team having been through hell (literally), Rogue immediately runs to Gambit's side to comfort him. Whatever's going on with her and Erik, it's clear that she still cares for Remy.
  • Logan helping Jean Grey control her powers by allowing her to focus on his mind... and the love he has for her:
Jean: Logan... I mean all that to you?
    Logan: More.
  • A telling moment while Jean and Goblin Queen are re-experiencing memories from Jean's early life, when seeing the moment Jean's childhood friend is about to be fatally struck by a car, it's Goblin Queen who cries out and rushes at the girl to try to save her.
  • Jean managing to get through to the Goblin Queen by reminding her of the moments that she shared with the X-Men and the birth of her son, assuring her that no matter what happens, Madelyne will always be Nathan's mother and not even Mr. Sinister can take that from her. Reliving the moments she shared with her baby boy allows her to shatter Sinister's control over her and she resolves to aid the X-Men in stopping him.
  • Crosses over with Tearjerker, but Madelyne's final words to Nathan before she has to send him away with Bishop speak volumes about how much Scott and Madelyne love their son:
Madelyne: There'll be days when you're lonely or scared, where you ask yourself why we did this? Was something wrong? But you are perfect, my baby. Know in our time here, we thought about you endlessly. How your voice would sound, your laughter, how you'd smile. We love you so much, Nathan. But owe you nothing less than the best possible future. (Bishop opens the time portal) And that is one without us in it. (Madelyne hands Nathan to Bishop who enters the portal. It seals behind them.) Remember.
  • When Madelyne decides to leave the X-Mansion it's Jean that tries to convince her to stay as it's her home too. Madelyne rejects the idea of staying, having decided that she wants to create a life that's just hers and not entwined with Jean's. The two shake hands and part on good terms.
    • Jean calls her clone "Jean" when they're saying farewell, willing to let her keep the name. She opts instead to go by entirely another name (the first and only time it's actually heard in the episode).
    • This conclusion is especially heartwarming as Madelyne in the comics was given a much crueler departure from Scott and became a recurring villain, but as so far, it seems she has avoided that fate.

    Motendo/Lifedeath Part 1
  • The episode opens with Jubilee stoked to celebrate her eighteenth birthday, and her X-Peers wishing her well.
  • Jubilee and Roberto are aided by Abcissa, a digital replica of Jubilee created to test the game. Abcissa advises Jubilee not to give in to the temptation to stay in the game, and to enjoy the ups and downs of real life. Jubilee and Abcissa hold hands to boost each other's powers when taking down Mojo. Their interactions are made sweeter with the knowledge that Abcissa is voiced by Alyson Court who voiced Jubilee in the original series.
  • Jubilee and Roberto's Big Damn Kiss at the end. Complete with Jubilee's powers setting off romantic lights and fireworks.
  • While it doesn't end happily, Storm and Forge bonding (and maybe more) is highly endearing to watch.

    Remember It
  • Seeing Genosha with all its inhabitants living happily and showing off their powers as a community to create, dance, make performance pieces, or in the case of the younger mutants simply to innocently play, with no fear, which makes what happens later all the more tragic.
    • We also see a few same sex couples among the population, showing that the island, true to its goal, is accepting of all.
  • Madelyne Pryor has been made a prominent and trusted official for mutants and Genosha, only about a month since leaving the X-Mansion (and despite her questionable legal existence).
  • Magneto shows zero ill-feelings at Madelyne for giving him that curb-stomping worse than any of the X-Men got from her in "Fire Made Flesh".
  • Nightcrawler is absolutely delighted to see the X-Men again, cheerfully teleporting around and embracing Gambit and Rogue.
    • While Rogue is taking in a street show, Gambit ends up confiding in Nightcrawler his concerns about their relationship, who ends up offering frank advice for his friend:
Nightcrawler: For a man named "Gambit", your poker face is very poor...
Gambit: Hey, mind your beeswax, furball! Didn't go ringin' for no priest.
Nightcrawler: It does not take a priest to see you and Rogue's souls touch in every gaze.
Gambit: ...ain't the touch she be lookin' for...
Nightcrawler: Ha, you Americans! So theatrical! Life is all violins und close-ups! I blame soap operas. Just marry ze belle and be done!
Gambit: Scoundrels like me, we don't get no white-picket reward. We too busy for love...too busy sinnin'.
Nightcrawler: There is no love without sin, for love is best measured by what we forgive.
    • Consider this for a moment - Rogue is, essentially, Nightcrawler's sister by adoption. Nightcrawler's not only offering Gambit advice, but encouraging the relationship. That just cranks up the sweetness right there.
  • While opening up to Logan about her mental state and the turmoil between her and Scott, Jean is touched by Logan's words of comfort and kisses him. Logan is momentarily stunned...then gently lets Jean down, encouraging her to try and work things out with 'that overgrown Boy Scout'. He loves Jean with all his heart, but Logan knows that she can never be happy with anyone else but Scott.
  • It's small, but Madelyne seems to commiserate with Gambit over his turmoil, unlike others only trolling him.
  • Madelyne realizing who Cable is and knowing Nathan survived the techno-virus.
    • Doubles as a Tear Jerker but the last thing she ever hears is her son calling her Mom.
  • Mixed with Awesome, but Val Cooper, a regular government official and Non-Action Girl, stays behind amidst the chaos of the Tri-Sentinal attack to ensure the surviving mutant community is led to safety, even though she's just a normal human who could easily die at any second. Professor X was right to put so much faith in her. Which makes it sadder with The Reveal of Val Cooper turning out to be The Mole for Bastion the whole time.
  • Before heading towards the Tri-Sentinel, Gambit charges his motorbike with kinetic energy and then throws it at Rogue to push her out of the way of the Tri-Sentinel beam, and misses the disintegration beam by milli-seconds.

    Lifedeath Part 2
  • Despite feeling betrayed and angry with Forge, Storm refuses to abandon him and even faces down her claustrophobia to get medicine and defies The Adversary when it offers her a deal.
  • The Shi'ar demand that Xavier erase his memories of his time with the X-Men to prove his loyalty. At the last minute, he refuses. Not just because of what he taught them, but what they taught him. Like any good teacher, he learned just as much from his students as they did from his lessons.
  • Although he and Lilandra love each other dearly, Xavier realizes that he must return to the X-Men back on Earth once he senses Gambit's death. He only left because he thought they'd be safe and happy. Once he finds out they're not, he instantly decides to help.
    • The fact that Xavier could sense Gambit's death shows just how closely linked he is with all of the X-Men. They aren't just soldiers or teammates or students to him, they are his family.

    Bright Eyes
  • Crossing over with Tearjerker: Kurt's eulogy to Gambit during the man's funeral, a declaration of his belief that Gambit was far from the scoundrel he made himself out to be:
Nightcrawler: Remy LeBeau would be the first to remind you that life, like the cards, is wild. Yet he moved through his life as a force who believed that better times lay ahead, that luck always won. Per his kinetic gifts, Gambit had endless faith in potential. Yet... he seemed so blind to his, haunted by the life of bayou crime into which he was born; a sinner beyond saving. "Such were the cards," he'd say. I think he was bluffing. How could Remy, so tuned to potential, fail to see how his sins had made him into a hero? (wipes away a Single Tear) Every gambler has a tell. Modesty was Gambit's.
  • Scott says to the President that finding just one more mutant survivor at Genosha would lift mutants' hopes. When the X-Men do go to Genosha to aid efforts, they do find one more survivor - Emma Frost in diamond form and nearly everyone is seen rejoicing wholeheartedly.
  • Rogue tearfully jokes that Kurt must be ashamed of her for going berserk over a boy. Kurt then clarifies it was two that she lost (or so she thinks). And that she did not kill them. She helped them to live. He then cradles her as she unleashes her grief.
    • The comforting hand of Jean on her shoulder and Rogue's beaming smile when her friends all arrive to comfort her, including a smiling Wolverine.
    • And this all starts with Kurt calling her "sister", and Rogue acknowledging their familial connection. Sure, the mother who links them is hardly a saint, but they're family nonetheless.
  • While it later became somber regarding the fact he has to hide his powers from the public, it turns out Roberto's parents already knew their son was a mutant and kept his secret until he chose to reveal it himself by his own free will, which he did with help of Jubilee by his side.
  • Much like with the article by Eddie Brock in the first episode, we see here that Captain America also managed to escape from the vortex he was in trapped in at the end of WWII for a third time and this time, Steve escaped for good, even joining the Avengers.

Tolerance Is Extinction - Part 1
  • Jean Grey talks to Nightcrawler about how hard it is seeing Cable, as she has all Madelyne's memories of being pregnant and birthing Cable from their psychic link but he isn't actually her son. Nightcrawler relates the story of Mystique abandoning him but finding a real family who didn't.
Nightcrawler: Blood is blood. But family is a choice.
  • Trish Trilby tries her best to make amends with Beast over her previous Innocently Insensitive remarks when visiting him over a cup of latte, for which the latter was willing to give her another chance. At least before the Prime Sentinel sleeper agent within her activated.
  • Kurt continues to look out for Rogue as her brother, worrying over her still-unconscious condition and ensuring that the mob of Prime Sentinels don't get to her while she's incapacitated.
  • After working together to defeat and escape the Prime Sentinels, Cable and Cyclops bump fists together. Father and son might've been separated by circumstance, but it appears they're starting to make up for lost time.

Tolerance is Extinction - Part 2
  • As monstrous as Bastion's actions are, it's hard not to be moved by the sight of him gently cradling his mother's unconscious body, his sneer replaced with a look of...relief as for the first time in his life, he isn't being bombarded with machines and electronics 'talking' to him.
    Bastion: It's finally quiet, Mother.
  • Both Jubilee and Jean hugging Storm upon reuniting with her.
  • When Rogue wakes up, the first person she sees is Kurt. The implication being that he stayed in her room after the attack, so she wouldn't be alone after waking up.
  • When deciding to join Magneto, Roberto asks Jubilee what he still has left on Earth after being betrayed by his mother. Jubilee then sadly replies "Me."
  • Cyclops calling Cable his son
  • Beast comforting an unconscious Trish Tillby before the X-Men leave to fight Magneto. Even if she's a Prime Sentinel, Hank still holds a torch to her.
  • Jean objects to Storm's plan that Forge and Storm herself will fight the Sentinels in the air so the rest of the team can get to the ground. Storm reassures her that she thought of Jean in her absence and took hope from her. giving her a quick pep talk:
Storm: Let us do what we do. Believe. Not in a dream or our gifts but in each other.
Jean: Make them mind your weather, sister.
Storm: And them weather your mind.
