Heartwarming / The Legend of Zelda (1989)

• "The White Knight": Link goes into 10-Minute Retirement when Zelda forgets his existence in favor of Prince Facade. However, he returns to rescue her when the prince refuses to do so to avoid dirtying himself. After helping her up, Link says that what he does is dirty work, but someone needs to do it. Zelda tells him she's glad it's him.
• "The Missing Link":
  • When Link cries out and vanishes after being hit by the reflected attack, Zelda screams his name and crumples to the ground next to his fallen sword, crying. She's clearly distraught over his apparent death.
  • Late in the episode, Ganon states that Zelda is only able to see Link's non-corporeal form because she's in love with him. Both Link and Zelda are in earshot of this. Zelda half-heartedly tries to deny this to Link...
    Link: Soooo!
    Zelda: Don't get the wrong idea, buster!
    Link: You love me, huhhhh?
    Zelda: Oh, I do not!
    Link: Yes you do! Yes you do! *singing* That's why you can seeeee meeeee.
    Zelda: No! I mean...maybe just a little?
    *Link stands up on a ledge to proclaim the glorious news to the rest of Level-9*
    Link *singing* : ZELDA LOVES MEEE! ZELDA LOVES MEEE!
    Zelda: Shut up, you idiot! They'll hear you!
    Link *still singing* : ZELDA LOVES MEEE! ZELDA, LOVES MEEE!
• In "That Sinking Feeling", Zelda is overjoyed at a picnic Link has set up and glomps him. She's just about to kiss him when Ganon attacks and ruins the mood.
