Heartwarming / Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

  • Prauf, Cal's best friend on Bracca sees his potential and encourages him to make something of his life, ultimately sacrificing his life in an effort to draw Imperial attention away from Cal.
  • One of Cal's unlock-able skills is literally called "the power of friendship", which allows BD's health stims to also restore Cal's Force meter.
  • Eno Cordova's last transmission when he speaks to BD-1, calling him a persistent and fearless friend and trusting him to find a worthy Jedi to give the information to. He even asks permission to encrypt BD's memories and only continues when BD consents, telling him he hopes that BD will regain his memories one day. Compared to how most characters in Star Wars, even the heroic ones, treat droids as mere machines and don't even think twice about erasing their personalities, it's sweet that Eno considered BD an equal. And then BD follows it up by reassuring Cal that he believes in him and to keep trying.
    • Likewise, if you find Cordova's abandoned workshop on Bogano, you may find a cairn he built for the droids that "expired" while building the various ramps and zip lines on the planet. Without their help, it's likely that the Vault would never have been found.
  • The rapport between the young Cal and the clone troopers is nothing short of close. The troopers almost treat him like a spunky brother of their own, it's bound to make one smile a bit. It becomes much Harsher in Hindsight when these very same clones set upon Cal and his master with intent to kill upon executing Order 66.
  • Saw Gerrera's rousing speech to his troops after he and Cal freed the Wookie slaves. It's one of the few moments where Saw seemed hopeful and empathetic, a far cry from his usual world-weary, cynical outlook.
Saw Gerrera: These have been hard years. We've lost comrades, friends, family to the Empire. Dark times. And yet the fire still burns. Hope still burns. The Jedi are not yet lost. We are not yet lost. Kashyyyk is not yet lost! For the cause!
  • Every time Cal calls BD "little buddy". It's hard not to have a smile so wide on your face that it'll hurt.
  • In a universe where the Dark Side of the Force has been portrayed as unequivocally evil, it's refreshing to see things take a somewhat lighter shade on Dathomir. Yes, the planet's a Death World for outsiders; yes, the Nightbrothers will attack on sight; but at the same time, the culture of Dathomir is given as much focus for its uniqueness as for how deadly it is.
    • Cal himself would rather avoid a fight when the Nightsister Merrin confronts him - rather than automatically declare her evil and try to strike her down, he tries to look for an approach that'll help him get what he's after, while benefiting her as well.
    • In addition, Merrin ultimately performs a Heel–Face Turn to aid Cal, using her magicks to save him more than once - magicks, which it must be remembered, are still related to the Dark Side.
  • Cal and Merrin's friendship in general. In their own words, Jedi and Nightsisters are not meant to travel together, but their kinship as survivors transcends that. Cal is willing to go to bat for Merrin back on the Mantis as well, despite the fact that she has tried to kill him multiple times at this point.
    • Once Cal retains consciousness following his and Cere's close escape from Vader, Merrin immediately gives him a hug.
  • If Cal constructs the Dual-bladed lightsaber on Bogano, he and BD-1 get into a heartfelt conversation regarding the late Eno Cordova. It ends with Cal using the Jedi Master’s hilt to repair his own broken lightsaber, with Cal wanting to keep a part of Cordova with him in his and BD-1’s travels.
  • The fact the entire game is essentially Cal, Cere and Merrin coming to terms with their past trauma, and the implication Trilla would have done the same if she hadn't been murdered by Vader.
  • During the first mission on Kashyyyk, Cal helps the Partisans free some Wookiee slaves from an Imperial refinery. Aside from looking relieved and overjoyed to be free, one of the liberated Wookiees walks up to Cal and gives him a big ol' bear hug.
