  • “The White Iris” is mixed with sad and sweet moments. Kirk is seeing women from his past and is tormented by the tragic events surrounding them. To help him heal from the pain, he goes through holographic simulations where he finally comes to terms with each woman. Then he confronts the mysterious little girl he’s been seeing all over the ship who turns out to be his unborn daughter. The memory of her kept him from succumbing to his agony.
  • Kirk’s behavior in “Divided We Stand”. He demands that a Confederate soldier be buried after a group of Union soldiers shot him, he forms a paternal bond with Billy, and he does everything he can to keep Bones from being killed by Union soldiers.
  • The ending for “Come Not Between The Dragons”. Eliza gives a tearful speech to an alien parent whose child ran away because of the father’s violent temper. Eliza tells the father that his anger frightens his son and if he truly desires a relationship with Usdi, he needs to let go of his anger. The father seems to understand and is willing to take that necessary step to be better for his son.
