  • The fact that Sidney, after dealing with this shit for far too long, is able to escape yet another encounter with a Ghostface unifies Gale, Sam and Tara. While they may have their differences, the three of them are in firm agreement that they're glad Sidney is not a target of this massacre. In relaying the news about Sidney to the sisters, Gale also says, "She deserves to have her happy ending," a statement that could easily be applied to Sidney's actress Neve Campbell, who decided to step down from the film due to a pay dispute.
  • In a really twisted way, Ghostface admonishing Jason for his murder of Laura Crane, almost getting angry at his petulance and dehumanizing her before killing Jason in a similar manner and repeating his words to taunt him. As murderous as Ghostface is, they still recognize that Laura didn't deserve her fate and are disgusted at Jason's sadism and petulance.
  • Chad trying to help build up Ethan's self-esteem at the party. It doesn't work, but it does show that he cares about his friends and chooses building them up over throwing them under the bus for his own gain.
  • Tara's friends all stepping in when she is nearly taken advantage of by a drunk frat boy.
    • Chad in particular deserves special mention. He seems like a generic frat boy who would be happy to cheer someone on getting laid, but not only is Tara an extremely close friend of his, but even he knows what this amounts to. He practically begs Tara not to do it.
    • Sam sticking up for her sister by immediately tasing the offender in the balls.
    • She gently brushes Chad aside right before it, as if to say, "Don't worry, I'll take it from here."
    • Chad looks particularly satisfied after the tasing, and Mindy is also giving a look of approval.
  • It's obviously ruined by the later reveal that he's one of the Ghostfaces, but Ethan handing Sam "like, three tissues" to dry off after a girl on the street throws a drink at her and accuses her of murdering Richie is still worth mentioning, as is the fact that Sam actually takes them and uses them, appreciating the gesture.
  • Chad and Tara becoming an Official Couple.
    • Their first scene together is in Sam and Quinn's apartment. Tara thanks Chad for intervening at the frat party and admits that she's not handling her trauma well, and Chad says to her, "I think you're really special." Even though the kiss they're about to have gets interrupted by Quinn, and Chad leaves shortly after, Tara is left lying on the bed grinning to herself, clearly smitten.
    • Later, they do get to have their first kiss at the theater.
Chad: It's maybe embarrassing how long I've wanted to do that.
Tara: Yeah, you should've done that a lot sooner.
      Chad: I know.
Tara: But you could also do it a lot more times.
    • While Chad could be admonished for not bringing up Liv at all since her murder, that he implies talking about her is too painful does show that he still cares and is still affected. The idea that she would be proud of him for continuing to live his life and finding someone else to be happy with — who was also her friend and who also is trying to move past trauma of her own as well — definitely comes to mind as a result, and shows that the approach Chad is taking is still healthy, while it could be considered evasive.
  • While it's also admonished later given that she's one of the Ghostfaces, Quinn empathizing with Sam's desire to protect her closest family member warrants remembering.
  • Sam comforting and empathizing with Bailey shortly after Quinn's "death", and his gratitude toward her for it — until the latter aspect is later revealed to be a total act on his part.
Bailey: You fuck with my family, you die.
    Sam: Agreed.
  • Kirby warmly greeting Sam with a hug and addresses Tara in a manner which shows she has become close to both, helping them through their trauma.
  • Chad declares that he, his sister and the Carpenters are the "Core Four" for sticking together as a makeshift family after surviving the ordeal of the last movie. The fact that they all survive once again, despite Sam being the direct target of the new Ghostfaces and both Chad and Mindy coming very close to death, seemingly cements that they are indeed bonded together.
    • All the more heartwarming is the fact that three of these people are relatives of Billy Loomis (Sam) and Randy Meeks (the twins), who obviously were not the best of pals whatsoever.
  • It's revealed that Sam wasn't just simply eyeing Danny across the street since the time being there, as a passionate kiss between the two reveals she's actually already been seeing him romantically in secret for quite a bit.
    • Leading into this, her finding a fairly healthy relationship in the midst of not just when Richie horribly took advantage of her, but her other past troubles as well, is also refreshing.
    • Sam admitting to Tara, Chad and Mindy that she's been seeing Danny. They're all not only happy for her, but they each figured it out way sooner and waited until she was ready to confide in them all herself, too.
  • Right after Sam tearfully admits that the rumors and conspiracies around her are getting to her and that it sucks to be so hated, Chad gently reminds her that nobody in the Core Four hates her, and the group gets her smiling again.
  • Mindy and Kirby bonding over their shared love of horror films, with them mostly agreeing on their opinions (they only disagree on which Friday the 13th film is the best, and Mindy accepts Kirby's "crush on Corey Feldman" reason for preferring Final Chapter over Part 2 as valid).
  • Gale's last words to Sam and Tara before passing out from blood loss — "Tell Sidney...he never got me..." While she doesn't know if she's going to survive her ordeal, she does, and in what might be her final moments, she wants to make sure Sidney doesn't have to live with the heartbreak and trauma of losing another one of her friends to Ghostface.
  • Gale might have a rocky relationship with Sam and Tara, but nevertheless does care for them. At one point, Gale tells Sam that she can form a family even with just one other person.
    • When Tara apologizes to Gale for punching her in the face. Gale says “No, you’re not” with a smile. Not only is Gale not mad at Tara, but she’s clearly proud of her.
    • When Sam asks Gale what happens if you lose the one person you chose to be your family, referring to Gale losing Dewey, she says, "You keep going, and maybe you find another loner," clearly addressing Sam. Despite their tension, Gale still reaches out and communicates that she considers Sam part of her own chosen family after the trials of the previous movie.
  • Danny proving himself to truly be a good boyfriend to Sam.
    • He tries everything he can to warn Sam and/or Quinn that the killer is in their apartment. At one point, he desperately tries trash talking and intimidating the killer.
    • He encourages and reassures Sam as she crosses the ladder.
    • While doing so separates them from Mindy—and Ethan, Danny also pulls Chad onto the train as the door's closing not just to make sure he doesn't get hurt, but to also keep Chad with him; Sam and Tara too.
    • He steps in front of Sam without any hesitation when he believes she might be in danger on the subway.
    • Sam tells Danny she's not sure if she can trust him due to what happened a year earlier with Richie. Rather than get offended, he's completely understanding and tells her to keep her distance if she feels it's what will make her feel safer. He agrees to do it again as well once he safely gets Sam, Tara and Chad to the theater and is held back from going in himself—holding Sam close while pulling on the bottom of her jacket, kissing her on the cheek and telling her to be careful.
    • Finally, he brings the cops to the sisters’ aid at the end, thereby properly earning their trust.
    • He's also seen joining Sam and Tara as they leave the scene right at the film's conclusion, too.
  • Sam and Tara’s reconciliation at the end of the film as they reach an understanding. Namely, Sam lets Tara go while Tara admits she wants Sam in her life.
  • Kirby, while being loaded into the ambulance after the Ghostface killers are dealt with, tells both of the Carpenter sisters that if ever they encounter trouble like this again, to not hesitate to call her. In Kirby's words, they, the twins and Gale, are now "all part of the same fucked-up family".
  • Tara and Sam's joy at Chad being brought out of the theater alive — in particular, Tara's reaction, Chad's response to her asking how he could possibly be alive (simply holding up a four with his fingers), and their subsequent kiss.
