Breach

  • Rose's offer in Breach 3.5 to Andy, upon hearing he had no one who would listen to him.

Collateral

  • The first thing Rose does upon being temporarily freed from the mirror due to being in the Lord of Toronto's demense? Hug Blake. Blake, in turn, is able to not immediately react with violence, like he has every other time someone has touched him without his consent.

Conviction

  • Blake reflecting on the people who have helped him when he needed it in the past in Conviction 5.1, and coming to the conclusion that contrary to what Duncan Behaim suggests, he does believe in the intrinsically good nature of humanity.

Subordination

  • In Subordination 6.1, Blake's friends not believing for a second that he was responsible for Evan's murder.
Blake's narration: A part of me had believed that I’d come back to find only an eviction notice. That radiation of some sort might have caused me to lose my ties to friends and home.
    Alexis: There. Are you okay?
    Blake: *choked up* No.
  • Blake forcing himself to hold Rose's hand after she's been freed from Conquest in Subordination 6.4, reasoning that she needs the comfort more than he does.
  • Evan trying to comfort Blake after one hell of a nightmare in Subordination 6.9.

Void

  • In Void 7.4:
    • Tiffany and Tyler willingly giving blood to save Blake's life, leaving them both in comas.
    • Blake noting that despite his trust issues regarding Rose, he considers her a friend. Rose herself seems genuinely taken aback by this, since due to her Friendless Background it likely means a lot.
  • In Void 7.6 Rose reminding Blake that he can't give up with everyone counting on him after their fighting since arriving in Toronto.
  • Blake and Maggie's Friendship Moment in Void 7.11, where he admits that (in spite of the whole murdering his cousin thing) Maggie was one of the only practitioners that actually tried to help him when this all started, and offers her help with whatever issue she's dealing with. Maggie, in turn, tells Blake that she honestly likes him, and thinks that the world is a better place with him in it. Mind you this takes a different tone after reading Signatures, but Padraic was basically repeating what Maggie said.

Signature

  • Maggie defending Blake's name to the other young practitioners. He had done little to earn their ire and he's actually doing something.
  • Maggie tending to the ghost of Molly in a form of atonement crosses between this and Tear Jerker.
  • Maggie in Signature 8.4 listing Blake and Molly as anchors keeping her from being unmade after losing her name. They also end up being invoked when she takes up the name Mags in Signature 8.7.

Null

  • The witch returning Blake's sweatshirt to him after he gives it to her as payment, telling him that he needs to keep as much of his humanity as he can.
  • In Null 9.6, Evan being the first to approach Blake even though he can no longer remember him.

Mala Fide

  • In Mala Fide 10.2:
    • In some twisted way, the Revenant and the Faceless Woman's friendship. It's clear he put a lot of effort into learning about her and keeping her safe.
    • Mags acknowledging Blake as her friend in a time when they both need it.
    • Molly's ghost actually responds to Blake saying Hello.
  • In Mala Fide 10.5:
    • Faysal oddly comforting Blake in his questions about humanity, assuring him that humanity was not born to do Wrong, and that he sees Blake, being one or two steps removed from human and trying to hold on, close enough to count as human.
    • Blake manages to get Green Eyes out of "The Drains" with Faysal's help.
    • Jeremy and Sandra have a tender moment.
  • Wraith!Molly decides to exclude Mags from being a direct target in her Roaring Rampage of Revenge on Jacob's Bell. Coming from an Other built out of a lot of Very Bad Days, that's really, really something. Practically a hug.

Malfeasance

  • Evan and Tyler coming up to play cards with Blake early in the morning because they felt bad and didn't want him to be lonely. Despite their previous connection being cut, Evan and Blake still share the dynamic they had before.
  • Tiffany coming to visit next was touching in its own way too. She explains her reasoning for staying with Rose is because she helped Tyler and Alexis cope with the loss of connections after Blake fell into "The Drains" and how she was going from one bad decision to another until she came across Alexis in the past.
  • In 11.6, Blake telling Alexis that she gave him a life and saved him, even if the artwork she did for him became twisted and was turning him into something monstrous.
  • In a roundabout way, Rose saying she does consider Blake family when she considers her own parents mere relatives. He's at least more straightforward and her ally, even if sour, in the scope of things.

Duress

  • In Duress 12.1:
    • Blake noting that despite Callan being a massive spiteful jerk to everyone else, he always had Molly's back no matter what.
    • The Faceless Woman dropping her assault on the house, when its been made clear she was riled up and antsy for violence, to make sure the Pizza Man was okay after being set on fire.
  • In 12.3, Ellie, who Blake had previously derided as a coward, thinking to himself that "this wasn't that kind of scene" when thinking that she could save Peter, injects Andy with a syringe full of poison and then forces Eva to save Peter for her. Coming from a Thorburn, that's the equivalent of a full hug, and significantly more effective!
  • In Duress 12.5, Kathyrn finding enough human decency to choose Roxanne's life over her own, though Blake manages to save both.

Execution

  • In Execution 13.3 there's the Ship Tease between Blake and Green Eyes.
  • Jeremy has Blake cornered and is prepared to smite him, but in a Pet the Dog moment he let's him know his friends and family will not be targeted again. Considering how that night started, it's saying something.
Jeremy: I have no intention of attacking your friends. You’re removed, we have plans for Rose. I fully intend to talk to Sandra and urge her to banish your friends from Jacob’s Bell. This isn’t their town, and it’s not good for them. I’m sure you’ll agree it’s better for them if they’re not here.
Blake: “I don’t disagree. Thank you.”
Jeremy: “Despite everything I’ve done, I did want to be a good Lord.”
  • Green Eyes and Blake sharing a minor romantic moment in Execution 13.8. Ship Tease ahoy!
    • She even seemed offended when she thought Blake had eaten Evan, showing she had grown fond of him.

Sine Die

  • In Sine Die 14.4, Blake finally gains the ability to fly with Evan's help, something that he's been searching for since at least the Drains, if not before.

Possession

  • In Possession 15.4, Blake is seemingly condemned to spend the rest of his existence as the Gatekeeper for the Abyss, only for Rose to be the one to provide him with a way out by possessing her. Note that until the last arc she was the most adamant about destroying him.

Judgement

  • Rose coming to realize in Judgement 16.4 that she's truly come to care about just about everyone in the church.
  • During Peter's Shut Up, Hannibal! moment in Judgement 16.10, he implicitly invokes Ainsley Behaim as one thing that makes tomorrow worth looking forward to.

Other/Multiple Chapters

  • The Odd Friendship of Blake and Evan, a twenty-year-old diabolist and the ghost of a pre-teen boy that died hunted, hungry, and alone. Blake admires Evan for his tenacity, and Evan thinks that Blake is amazing because he saved Evan from the Hyena. Evan eventually becomes Blake's familiar-Blake claims that it just feels right.
    • Evan and Ty have a sibling relationship too. It's nice.
    • Evan, Ty, and Blake united in... a need for thrashing each other in what is, underneath it all, a good-natured games night just mucking about with friends: console, phone or cards; not picky. See? However old you get, however Other you may become, some things are just too damn important to give up on.
  • The Thorburns showing that despite their myriad issues, they really do care about each other.
  • Despite Ivy's existence obviously being because Blake and Rose's parents considered them inadequate, neither chooses to hold it against her.
  • Blake managed to keep his promise to Zoey, the Witch of the Drains visiting her grave after being turned into a bird.
