• Some stages have Luigi save Mario from Donkey Kong, and other stages revolve around protecting Luigi.
• One level has Link save Pauline with the handicap of being unable to jump or use his sword.
• In the second game, Peach is saved... by Peach.
• After clearing all challenges with 3 stars in the second game, you unlock one final challenge, which is fairly standard: Get 100 coins in the first level of Super Mario Bros. 3. However, one of the blocks contains a P-switch, which plays a more "angelic" version of the P-switch theme and causes a pattern of coins to appear which reads, "THANK YOU!!".
