Heartwarming / Murdered: Soul Suspect

Go To

  • The very beginning of the game shows Ronan and all of his tattoos and what they mean. They start out as badges for crimes, but when he meets Julia, he gets some for her. He gets "Forever" tattooed on the back of his hand when he marries her.
  • At the beginning, right after being thrown out of the window and shot, Ronan is panicing as he dies. But once it sinks in and your mission is to walk towards the light, he realises he can rejoin his wife and being murdered doesn't seem like such a big deal. And then the Tearjerker kicks in because she sadly tells hem that he's got unfinished business, because otherwise there wouldn't be a game.
  • Rex and Ronan's backstory. Rex, a police lieutenant and Ronan's brother-in-law, offers Ronan, a crook, work as a police officer, so that "his sister isn't marrying some bum."
  • When Baxter mouths off and mocks Ronan's body, Rex pimp-slaps Baxter, lays Ronan's fedora on his body, and tells Ronan's soul to tell Julia he misses her.
  • The sidequest involving Katy, who wonders if her boyfriend is cheating on her with his new finacee Susanna, another woman. As it turns out, Susanna only met the man after Katy committed suicide, and she only approached him because his girlfriend had committed suicide and was trying to be supportive. She's even okay with the fact that he takes things slow as a result.
  • Ronan, as a spirit, can read anyone's mind. However, he will never read Joy's at her request.
  • Julie's sidequest. A ship was sinking in the harbor, and Julie went out on a rowboat to save the passengers. While she saved some of them, her boat capsized and Julie, unable to swim, drowned. There was a memorial for people who owed her their lives.
  • Rose and Iris, two sisters were kidnapped and attempted to be murdered by the Bell Killer. Rose frees her sister and helps her escape. At the cost of her own life and a very painful death. Even in death, Rose's spirit stayed close to Iris to protect her.
  • Many of Ronan and Julia's dating and married life memories.
  • The priest, an elderly man, tries to stop the Bell Killer from killing Iris. He is killed instantly, but he still stands up to a man who is known to have killed a police officer in the very same night without any hesitation.
  • Iris, even though she dies, is reunited with her beloved sister as spirits, and they cross to the other side together. At the same time, she never blames Ronan for her death.
  • Every single time you manage to help a ghost get closure and move on.
  • The ending: The final scene of Julia calling to Ronan from off-screen and him in-colour and smiling and walking off-screen to join her, meaning he was finally able to cross over and be re-united with her.
