Proof that Even Evil Has Loved Ones
- Young Gru bonding with the Minions in the end credits, culminating in a Group Hug with Kevin, Bob and Stuart, which turns into a dog-pile when all the other Minions try joining in. Young Gru then pokes his head out and lets out his signature giggle.
- It becomes even sweeter when you remember Gru's childhood flashbacks from the first and second films. The poor kid had next to no support from his mother, and was outright shunned by his classmates. Suddenly these little guys come along, and he now he has friends who not only support his endeavors, but like him just the way he is.
- Scarlet and Herb's entire relationship is adorable.
- When introducing Herb to the Minions, Scarlet describes him as such: “inventor, super genius, fox”. At the last last part, she brings his face closer to her's.
- The fact that Herb took Scarlet's last name in the 60s.
- Herb wrote Scarlet a “I missed you card” when she was only gone for one or two days. And Scarlet responded by saying “I want to dig up Shakespeare and show him what true writing is”.
- Scarlet wasn't just mad at the Minions "betraying" her, she was also mad at them for "betraying" Herb as well.
- When the chandelier falls on-top of Scarlet during her coronation, Herb's immediate horror and distress shows up his voice slightly breaking when he calls for someone to help him lift it up. Likewise, his immediate joyous relief when Scarlet flies out from under it by herself.
- And in a blink and you miss it moment: when it's obvious Kevin wasn't letting go and the bomb was about to go off, you can see Scarlet frantically shielding Herb as the rocket dress' protective shields start going up around them.
- Even if it ended up backfiring on them, Bob declaring Scarlet the Queen of England was a sweet thought nonetheless.
- In the end, he also gives her a toy crown he received from Queen Elizabeth as a souvenir reward. And she thanks and gives him a genuine smile. Word of God says that this made her give up her grudge to the Minions.
- When starting their journey to find a master, Kevin holds a frightened Bob's hand.
- Kevin really acts like a parent or big brother to Bob throughout the movie, such as removing a smudge on his face three times.
- When Scarlet confronts them at Buckingham Palace, he pushes Bob behind him when he sees that she's angry.
- One of the few Pet the Dog moments from Scarlet (outside of Herb): Scarlet meets Tina Nelson and finding the young girl adorable, Scarlet squeezed and held her up by her cheeks when she sees her.
- And even before that, when she and the minions arrive back at her castle after Villain Con, she notices Bob having trouble getting down the steps of her jet, so she gently picks him up and sets him back on the ground like a mother would for her child, but not before taking the time to compliment his teddy bear.
- Herb giving an amazing handshake to Stuart, then later giving them all cool nicknames as he weaponizes them.
- Later, he totally forgoes torturing them in the dungeon just to mess around.
- Despite being fans of Scarlet, the Nelsons still display concern for the Minions when she turns all of England on them. They also express happiness and pride for them when they are being commended by the Queen at the end.
- Despite Queen Elizabeth being rightfully annoyed at the Minions for taking away her rightful throne she was absolutely horrified for Bob and Stuart when Scarlet threatened to kill them.
- In a rather strange way, Walter and Madge comforting Tina after she accidentally set the alarm that got the police tailing them.
- The Dance Party Ending is just too cute. It's like an after movie cast party!
- Special mention goes to Herb and Scarlet who do "pull-me-in-rope" and "back-to-back" dance.
- After Bob discovers in a room full of mirrors that he is seeing his own reflections and not the rest of the minion tribe, he is devastated. Kevin and Stuart find him, and Kevin discovers that Bob misses the tribe. Kevin then takes out Bob's teddy bear Tim and shows it to him. Bob says "Me Tim!" in excitement, takes the bear, and warmly leans onto Kevin and says "Thank you." Kevin gives Bob a warm smile back.
- At Bob's coronation all the guards are dressed as Minions to make Bob feel more comfortable.
