Heartwarming / Maya & Miguel

• The episode where Tito befriends a deaf kid named Marco, two fishes high-fived with their fins.
  • It's also sweet how quickly the rest of the cast accepts Marco and go out of their way to make him feel welcome and comfortable. Even a local hardware store cashier who frustrates the kid by not being able to fulfill his requests due to not speaking ASL is clearly trying his best and Marco's frustration is with his situation, not the man; then he lights up when Tito shows up and is able to translate for him.
  • The episode is also touching overall with its message that clear communication may be important but there's a different between clarity and perfection and that no one should be ashamed about sounding different or needing a different method of communication.
• In "I Got to be Mi-Guel", the kids finding it adorable that Tito wants to be like his older cousin. Especially Those Two Girls.
• Miguel bought a Melissa Rosa jacket as a birthday present for his girlfriend, but Maya found it and thought he bought it for her. He tried to get it back, but he didn't have the heart to take it back because he sees how much Maya loved it and called him "the best brother in the world". So he decided to let her have it. Then Maya found out, and decided to give it to Miguel's girlfriend as a birthday present from Miguel.
• In "Miguel's Wonderful Life", Miguel wishes that he never had a sister after Maya unintentionally ruins his painting for their parents. He then dreams of what his life would be without her, and realizes how helpful Maya has been to him and the people around them, despite occasional mishaps. When he awakens from the dream, Miguel is ecstatic to see Maya and gives his sister the biggest hug he's ever given her. Later, when the family is exchanging gifts, Miguel reveals that he fixed the painting for their parents and made Maya a painting of her own. Touched, Maya tearfully embraces Miguel, while he just smiles and embraces her back.
