• The Pashtun villagers putting their lives on the line for a foreigner with absolutely no ties to them is, frankly, both astounding and heartwarming. Doubled by the fact that Marcus Luttrell and Mohammed Gulab maintain their friendship to this day.
• "F*ck Taliban!" The fact that the villagers are willing to openly defy the Taliban who are about to behead the protagonist, simply because they consider him their guest, and to back that up by fighting the Taliban soldiers, some of whom they are related to, is a reminder that the extremists' hatred does not infect everybody even in the country of their strongholds. The quote doubles as an Awesome Moment and a CMOF.
