Heartwarming / Jimmy Buffett

  • Just watch the video of "He Went To Paris" and see if you can get through it with a dry eye. Go ahead, I'll wait.
Jimmy, some of it's magic, some of it's tragic,
But I had a good life all the way.
  • "Breathe In, Breathe Out, Move On", about the destruction of New Orleans by Hurricane Katrina is a hard song to listen to, but it does make the point that there is still hope.
  • "Bama Breeze" tells the story of one of Buffett's favorite watering holes when he was a kid, and how Hurricane Ivan destroyed it. The song tells the story of the regulars, and how they were a family. The video features Buffett and a group of the other old timers gathering to watch the abandoned shell of the original Bama Breeze being torn down, to make way for the construction of the new Bama Breeze.
  • However sad, there's something fondly fitting about Buffett having passed away on September 1st: the king of summertime ballads, departing with the coming of autumn. Enjoy your cheeseburger, Jimmy.
  • His song "Bubbles Up" from his final album, telling the world that everything will be ok.
  • His last words to his sister were "have fun". Very on-brand.
