  • When first meeting Dodoria, her and Zarbon being introduced as Goz and Mez's "favorite platonic power couple", Cell not only correctly guesses her gender, but amiably returns her compliment:
Dodoria: (flirtatiously) Well, ain't you a tall glass of St. Patrick's Day beer.
Cell: (smiling) And ain't you a queen doin' your thing!
Dodoria: (proudly waving a finger) Damn right.
  • Heartwarming in Hindsight: During the dodgeball game, Dodoria misses a shot at Raditz who would not have been able to dodge it. It makes sense when we later learn of their secret relationship.
  • A minor one during Cell's reflection of Freeza's earlier speech and Raditz's remark to his attitude. Cell happens to glance at Raditz, who notices and offers a slight wave with a small smile. While mocked and beaten down, and often quietly mocking Cell for his decisions in the past episodes, Raditz seems to be warming up to Cell and the feeling appears to be mutual from how the bio-android considers the Saiyan's perspective on the matter of continually antagonizing Freeza.
Cell: ...but I'm not going to tell them [that you were bisected by Vegeta's crotch spawn].
    Freeza: ... Bitch, what?!
Freeza (Recall): (as Cell stares into his palm) I know who I f**king am. [...] And I'd rather die a million more times before I ever pretend otherwise.
Raditz (Recall): (waves to Cell as Cell looks his way) Yeah, you'll get out of here REAL quick with that attitude.
Cell: Because I'm not playing your game anymore, Freeza. (walks away) I'm playing mine.
  • The Ginyus keep framed photos of their time in HFIL, including when it was just a campsite, which includes Nappa and Cui; the latter of whom is implied to have served his time and graduated, while the former was resurrected.
    • Rather than threaten violence on the Ginyu Force or their "pet", Cell takes a deep breath in the middle of his tirade and simply says that he'll report them as bad neighbors to Goz and Mez if they don't keep Ginyu under control. While Played for Laughs, it's a sign of progress starting from the previous episode where Cell resolved to not play Freeza's game anymore.
  • Guldo talks to the frog in Ginyu's body about his problems, including a wife that he misses very much. His behavior towards Cell aside, the frog seems to be a very friendly bloke who keeps the spirits of his former team up, something that didn't go unnoticed by the Ogres, prompting them to allow them to keep him.
  • When the Ginyu Force learns that the frog is not actually Ginyu, they appear ready to abandon him. Guldo, on the other hand, refuses to do so; he angrily calls the rest of his friends out on it, considers the frog to be a part of the team for always being there for him, and accepted a long time ago that while he isn't the Ginyu they knew, he's still his friend. The rest of the team agree with this, and comfort Guldo when he begins to break down. Even Cell opts not to ruin the moment and instead gives them the frog back without protest.
Jeice: He might not be our captain, but he's still a Ginyu!
  • Cell and the Ginyu Force apologizing to each other over their mutual antagonism over the last few episodes.
  • King Cold has made perhaps the best rehabilitation, other than Nappa, of all inhabitants of HFIL. He still dotes on Freeza as he always did, but he's also out for the wellbeing of every MCM, saving Cell from hitting the ground when Freeza is picked out as his trust fall partner. The stinger has him tell Cell that while he does obviously dote on his pretty princess, he could have been a better father, taking the blame for the former Freeza force members and Guru ending up here, and wants to get everybody out for this reason. His tone points that he's still the same old King Cold as before, but blaming himself for everybody sans Cell being in HFIL is still rather surprising.
    • He also clarifies that he wants to get Cell out as well, subtly implying that he acknowledges Cell, who is partly made up of Freeza's DNA, as part of his family.
  • During the Christmas special, in a twisted way, Raditz and Jeice reveal that the real spirit of Freeza Day is getting together with all your friends and family and celebrating that you're not dead. Despite how it revolves around celebrating Freeza and obeying his every whim, it almost comes off as pretty wholesome.
    • It's minor, but Raditz tells Cell he didn't just tell him about Freeza Day is because the Ginyu Force worked "really hard" on their song.
    • The fact that Freeza blows up the Ogre's home in the end. After Cell convinces Freeza not to blow up his home, the only real option left was the Ginyu's home since Dodoria and Zarbon live with Freeza, but instead, Freeza chose the Ogre's home, meaning that he at least values them enough not to give them short end of the stick (though possibly it's on the basis of because Freeza lives with them).
    • While Freeza's clearly riding a high of Evil Gloating since he thinks he's about to escape HFIL, he's so grateful for the Dragon Balls initially that Freeza says he'll send Vegeta to the residents of HFIL with a bow attached.
    • When King Cold collapses from a stroke after reading the whole plot of the episode as a story to the HFIL residents, Freeza is horrified about his father collapsing. Cell also has a concerned look on his face while Cold stares off into nothing before collapsing.
  • Throughout episode 8, Freeza develops a complex over his father not spending any time with him, and even seeming to favor talking to Cell over talking to his own son. When Freeza goes to his room to sulk, Dodoria pops in to ask if Freeza would like to hatewatch Terminator Genisys and sees Freeza in emotional turmoil.
Dodoria: Oh, uh... permission to comfort?
    Freeza: …proceed.
    • Dodoria then proceeds to give a genuinely good, supportive pep-talk to her Lord, trying to assuage Freeza's fears.
    • Freeza, in turn, doesn't really get all too upset by Dodoria's help. She doesn't even flinch at any point in fear of retaliation from him, meaning that she trusts that Freeza wouldn't attack her.
  • Episode 9 has Cell and Freeza locked in Guru's room (i.e. the garage). As much of an aggravating, petty, self-important and self-aggrandizing asshole Freeza is, Cell still tries to talk and understand him and his relationship with King Cold.
  • Episode 9 reveals that Dr. Gero is in HFIL as well, being the one that set up Guru's new security system. The code to disarm said system is 4386, which when compared to a telephone keypad, spells out both GEVO (the name of Gero's son, and the basis of Android 16) and HEVN - where he presumably went. It's also sweet that, if Dr. Gero really did make the system, and that he knows 16 went to Heaven, he's all the more happy for him.
    • Also, oddly sweet to see Super Kami Guru genuinely consider someone a friend in King Cold for installing a security system for him, even pointing each other respectively.
  • Episode 10 sees the Ginyu Force preparing dinner, with Guldo serving the food while Jeice, Burter, and Recoome cook. While Jeice yells at Burter and Recoome for their sloppiness in the kitchen, Guldo comes back to report that the appetizers have been served. Jeice first looks like he's about to yell at him like the other two, but then he praises Guldo for a good job (complete with an Affectionate Gesture to the Head), making Guldo chuckle to himself proudly with an endearing smile. Seems like the Ginyus are making him feel more like the team after his impassioned speech at the end of Episode 6.
    • We also get a moment of brief bonding between Cell and Freeza; bitching about how insufferable their dining experience is between Cooler being a prick and Bojack being aggressively pirate-ish.
    • The Ginyu Force also show genuine remorse for accidentally burning down Goz and Mez's house, vowing to rebuild it.
    • In a way, Bojack attempting to quell the mood during the "dinner" party, which is nitroglycerine levels of volatile, with his pirate stories and his attempt at conquering Earth. Although he (predictably) fails, points for trying, matey.
    • Bojack in general, since he has accepted his death rather quickly and is more than willing to go along with the HFIL program, having a bright attitude and is genuinely trying to be friends with everyone.
    • King Cold apparently loves Spacegiving (Thanksgiving, but in space) because he enjoys having his family together, signifying that while he does have somewhat low opinion on Cooler, he does love him.
    • In the background, as Cold invites Cell to Cooler's HFIL, you can see Mez trying to comfort Goz.
