  • In the English version of the prologue, while Cid's meeting with Mewt is awkward, to say the least, Marche gets the impression that Cid cares about his son.
  • When Marche is feeling down about Ritz refusing to help him get home, Montblanc cheers him up. By this point, they're no longer strangers brought together by coincidence, but are starting to become real friends.
  • Marche is willing to brave the Jagds to deal with some petty criminals who did a hit-and-run on Montblanc's brother, and does so again in an optional mission.
  • Marche and Doned's reconciliation. After Marche tells Doned about how much he resented being neglected, Marche then reminds Doned of what he's taken for granted- his loving family- then promises to be there for Doned once they're home.
  • When Marche sets out for the Ambervale, Doned tells him to be careful.
  • While Marche and Ritz had parted on bad terms in Chapter 14, surprisingly enough, there aren't any hard feelings between them when they do actually fight in the penultimate mission. Each of them understands how the other feels, and Ritz has gained some respect for Marche.
  • In the ending, each of the cast's lives have improved at least a little. Ritz is confident enough to stop dyeing her hair, a change that a random classmate approves of. Cid is going back to work/making progress in quitting drinking, depending on the version. Doned makes some friends through his love of games. Marche and Mewt are finally able to stand up to the bullies. As difficult as life can be, their time in Ivalice helped give them the strength they needed to face their problems.
