Heartwarming / Bubble Boy

• Mr. Livingston knows exactly how overbearing Mrs. Livingston is to Jimmy. It's a small moment, but when he wakes in the middle of the night hearing Jimmy's escape, he looks perfectly happy with this development.
  • Jimmy, having just talked to Chloe's fiancee and now convinced that she doesn't want to see him, resigns himself to being taken back home by his parents when they catch up to him. While his mother is occupied outside the car, Mr. Livingston turns to his depressed son and delivers some encouragement.
    Mr. Livingston: H-How was it out there? Was it fun? *Beat* You can see the moon today. You know, it kind of makes you wonder... What would have happened if Neil Armstrong had gone all the way to the moon... and then never stepped on the surface?
  • And then he unlocks the car doors for Jimmy.
• When Jimmy finally reaches the wedding, he finds himself at a loss for words. Then, with full knowledge of his non-existent immune system, rips apart his mobile bubble suit to hug his best friend and Love Interest. Also doubles as a Tearjerker, given the context.
  Chloe: Jimmy? What are you doing?
  Jimmy: I'd rather spend one minute holding you than the rest of my life knowing I never could. So if you don't mind, may I kiss the bride? (Cue Big Damn Kiss) I love you. I love you Chloe. Forever. (Passes out)
