Heartwarming / Bo Burnham: Inside

Go To

  • "White Woman's Instagram"
    • It is a hilarious song poking fun at, well, a white woman's Instagram and the cliché things to be found on there—latte foam art, fuzzy socks, tiny pumpkins, etc. But then the song goes into a post made by the hypothetical woman to her late mother, telling her she still misses her but that it's getting easier, and telling her to kiss her father for her. It's a reminder that there's a human being putting herself on display behind these accounts, and it's a very heartfelt moment in an otherwise comedic song.
    • From the same song, one of the last images the white woman posts is "three little words, a couple of doves, and a ring on her finger from the person that she loves"... with the sound of wedding bells chiming faintly in the background. Lyrics about her holding hands with someone, moving into a new house, and spending time with someone illustrate a story of her documenting her dating, falling in love, and eventually getting engaged to someone she loves.
  • Despite the overall bleakness of Inside, the special has a "Ray of Hope" Ending, with Bo watching the ending skit of him being locked out of the house and gives an earnest smile, as if implying that he (and by an extent, everyone else) will eventually get better and the world will be better as well.
