Fridge Brilliance
- "White Woman's Instagram" has bells ringing during the line "Three little words, a couple of doves, and a ring on the finger from the person that she loves." The three little words could be interpreted as "Live Laugh Love"... but the breakdown with her talking about her mom and the fact that it sounds like church bells is her saying "I love you" or "Yes, I do" and marrying the boyfriend, AND also calls out how a scenario that complex can't entirely be contained within the confines of a single Instagram post.
- In a similar vein, there's a bit of Fridge Sadness for why the woman might be particularly missing her mother (and, though it's not touched on as much, her father) right now with the implication that she got married soon after posting the memorial. A woman's parents are traditionally very involved in the wedding; Dad giving his daughter away by walking her down the aisle, while Mom often helps plan the whole thing and helps the bride get ready on the big day. Planning the wedding without them would dredge up a lot of emotions, especially surrounding the fact that they can't be at the ceremony, unable to share the happiest day of her life. Of course the anniversary of her mother's death would hit especially hard this year.
- "White Woman's Instagram" parodies the sort of content posted by "basic" white women who are usually in their 20s and early 30s. The fact that the woman is implied to get married likely puts her in that age range as well, at least statistically speaking. Now consider the first thing she writes in the caption on the photo of her mom: "I can't believe it. It's been a decade since you've been gone." In other words, it's very likely she lost her mother when she was in her early twenties at the oldest, and very likely, when she was still a teen. Not that having your mother pass away at any age is easy, but that context makes the already-gutwrenching bridge even sadder.
