• When Varia first told Cyncaidh about her husband and asked him to let her go to the man, why didn't Cyncaidh at least tell her he'd consider it? We know from inner monologue that he hadn't fallen in love with her yet, so that wasn't holding him back. And between what he witnessed at Ferny Cove and his own probable stealth abilities, he certainly should have known she had the potential to sneak past the Kohrmeri on the way into the gate. He did have his mission to complete, but he could have saved himself some trouble and rather vicious scratches by saying they could discuss it after she was interrogated in the empire.
