    Demeter's conspiracy theory
  • Demeter backs up her conspiracy theory of despotic gods marrying fertility goddesses for their powers with evidence of previous unions: Ouranos and Gaia, Chronos and Rhea, and Zeus and Metis. But is she not herself a fertility goddess? She's been safe so far.
    • Demeter probably feels she can handle herself if need be. Persephone, OTOH, is (in Demeter's eyes) far more naïve and vulnerable, and would be unable to resist a would-be usurper abducting and exploiting her. It's why she was so determined to keep Persephone out of sight, and her true nature under wraps.
      • Ironically, compounding her naivete and vulnerability.
    • I think for the purposes of the narrative that Demeter is a NATURE goddess, not a fertility goddess and that the two are not the same thing. Remember, Demeter's version of natural growth is extremely orderly and precise, while Persephone's runs riot.

“Now go and get your sister’s lazy butt out of bed.”
  • Hera says this to Hebe in Episode 30. Who’s she referring to? We haven’t seen any other daughters of Hera note . And why is this mysterious figure absent in Episode 79, when Hera’s family is having dinner?
    • Possibly Eileithyia, goddess of childbirth or Enyo a war goddess associated with bloodshed as they are the next most major of Hera's female children after Hebe and Eris in myths, other daughters include Arge, Angelus and Eleutheria but they are virtually forgotten by modern audiences)
      • Almost outright certain to be Eileithya as her existence (and her status as Zeus' daughter) was confirmed in the latest chapter.
