Headscratchers / Ask Frisk and Company

  • Why is the year 2117 in the comic, which is the 22nd century, when it should clearly be the 21st century because in the opening cutscene of Undertale the year is 201X.

    • Both in the actual Game and AFAC the date of 201X is actually the date that Chara fell. While there is no set canon on the exact amount of time in-between Chara and Frisk falling into Undergound it is implied in game that it was a long time ago. In AFAC Chara fell in 2015 and died along with Asriel in 2017 while Frisk fell in 2115.

      • That makes a little more sense, but how come a lot of the human technology we've seen doesn't seem to have evolved past the early 21st century? The iPhone still retains its current texting display theme.

      • TQ said due to the existence of monsters, magic and the after effects of the Monster Human war has made AFAC timeline different from real life. For example real world historical events did happen but at a different time and date and the pace of human technological advancement has either stagnated at some things or became advanced at a faster pace. Like how 100 years ago when Asriel and Chara were alive people still sail ships that look like there from the 17 century but people also had video recorders and televisions. At the current time AFAC's 22 century is the equivalent to our time but, with a few more advance technology hidden in the mix.
