Thanks to the nature of Angry Birds Scratch Edition, every character existing in the entire Angry Birds franchise is able to make it into the game, including characters who didn’t originate from it.
- Detroit rapper Eminem appears in the "Bad Eminems" update. His ability involves throwing mom’s spaghetti everywhere, which explode on contact.
- Sonic the Hedgehog appears in the "Sonic Speed" update, and he can go directly to your cursor.
- A Super Sonic variant also appears, and he flies to a random position multiple times.
- Toucan Sam, the mascot of Froot Loops, appears as an alternate variant of Mighty Eagle in the "Mighty Powerups" update, similar to how he appeared in Angry Birds Space.
- In the "Pig Takeover" update, the king and the rock from Crush The Castle make appearances. The rock can’t do anything since it’s just a rock, but the king flies to a random location and falls, and afterwards he explodes.
- Blu, Jewel, and Rick Astley got added to the game, likely due to Blu and Jewel and "Never Gonna Give You Up" appearing in Angry Birds Rio and The Angry Birds Movie, respectively. Blu and Jewel fly directly to your cursor, while Rick Astley - no prizes for guessing what his ability is.
- Martin Prince from The Simpsons appears due to a Simpsons episode making an Angry Birds reference in the form of Nelson playing "Angry Nerds" with him. Martin explodes after hitting the tower, and then Nelson gets launched. However, since Nelson isn't supposed to be a playable character, reality will start to crumble (which deals damage to the tower).
- Steve from Minecraft appears thanks to the game making an Angry Birds crossover pack, and his ability involves him placing blocks wherever your cursor is, and they stay on the screen until a bird hits them, which breaks on impact and makes the bird bounce, which can be helpful if you place it behind the tower and make the bird bounce back to it.
- Peter Griffin appears due to Family Guy making multiple Angry Birds references, and he flies straight up before getting into skydiving gear and falling straight down, and if he hits the tower, he tells the pigs that 90% of people playing the game are popping, which causes the pigs (except for the boss) to die from hearing this.
- Several birds cosplaying as musicians also appear:
- Slash of Guns N' Roses can use his guitar for extra damage.
- Both Shakira and Freddie Mercury of Queen have the ability to use their songs ("She-wolf" and "Another One Bites The Dust", respectively) to kill all the pigs on the tower.
- Garfield appears thanks to one of his teasers featuring him chasing Red, and he says he’s hungry for pork, which causes the pigs on the tower to die.
- Godzilla appears due to Angry Birds Toons parodying him in one of the episodes, and he not only does more damage than average, he also doesn’t bounce unlike most of the other characters. He also can do his atomic breath, which can hit pigs and the tower from a bigger distance.
- Ted appears due to the titular character playing Angry Birds in the sequel, and his ability involves him farting, which kills all the Mook pigs.
- Baby Shark has a bomb strapped to him for his crimes against humanity, and it explodes upon impact, damaging the tower no matter where it explodes.
- Due to the game being hosted on Scratch, the cat that appears as the mascot is also a playable character, and he flies to your cursor and moves around a bit before falling.
- A bag of Cheetos is also a playable character, and it explodes into cheese dust for extra damage.
- Several characters referenced by Angry Birds Friends tournaments also appear:
- Popeye grows in size by eating spinach just like the original series, which allows him to deal extra damage.
- A Smurf also appears as a playable character, and goes directly to the cursor before exploding.
- Mario usually functions as a weak bird with no ability, but if you click on a powerup that appears in a random position, it does something depending on what powerup is collected:
- The Super Mushroom makes him bigger for extra damage.
- The 1-up Mushroom adds an extra bird to the "Remaining Birds" tally.
- The Fire Flower gives him projectiles in the form of…well, fireballs.
- The Super Star gives him Super Star effects for extra damage.
- Mega Man has a laser beam that can be used to hit pigs and the tower from a longer range.
- A Tetris block stops in midair and starts falling straight down, and if it hits the tower in this position, it deals extra damage.
- Link simultaneously drops a remote bomb that can be exploded by tapping it as well as using his sword for extra damage.
- Green Day uses their song "American Idiot" to push the tower back a bit as well as killing the pigs on the tower.
