  • You can recruit a couple of Old God cultists in the forests when they ask if you're a worshipper. Say yes and they'll join you after they unmask themselves. They'll also say that you're their master. Say no and they'll apologize for bothering you.
  • The player's first meeting with the downtown shopkeeper. Wow.
  • Fulfil certain requirements involving a blue gem and you can, just like in Silent Hill, end up abducted by aliens. Dog aliens. Then you get a (probably facetious) Sequel Hook for Galaxy of Horror.
  • During one of the random events, you can follow a suspicious-looking person clad in black back to their house. Turns out it was just a bunch of nerds playing an RPG (The name of the event? World of Darkness). The narration admits that it's an embarrassing mistake, but the humor of it lowers your Doom by 2%.
  • One of Miku's outfits is a t-shirt with the words "SKELETON VOMIT" written on it.
  • The mere fact that most of the protagonists are teenagers who have no business going up against eldritch horrors is already amusing in a certain sense, but what makes it even better is that they can hand the Old Ones their asses. To put it in perspective, the most effective physical combat character in the game is an eighteen year old Japanese girl who has no qualifications beyond "Swim Team captain." She can and will brutalize enemies who would make H.P. Lovecraft or Junji Ito reach for the absinthe.
  • If you try to get the Shiba Inu Shopkeeper to restock at 100% doom, it gets sick of your bullshit and has you minced and turned into dog food. Doubly humorous because it's otherwise ridiculously kind. You have to be trying to get this game over.
  • In the Festival case, one of the items you can buy is pancakes. In addition to healing Stamina, it also...reduces Doom by 2%. Pancakes are so sweet and fluffy that merely the act of eating them makes the world less doomed.
  • Ending B for Macabre Memoir of Morbid Mermaids, in a rather dark sense. Just how defeated the Deep One sounds:
After a few seconds that feel like eternity, a grotesque half-human, half-fish thing slowly emerges, takes a long look at the mutilated corpse and sighs. "He had a good idea about the two halves..." it croaks. "but the fish should be on top."
    • Ending D requires you to stumble onto the Janitor's fish/human splicing experiments while already having gills for unrelated reasons.
  • The text for "Do Nothing" for the Gruesome Alter random event.
"You make a mental note not to visit small family restaurants any time soon."
  • Some of the Challenge premises are worth a laugh or two.
    • Moriko's But Dad!!! has her be unable to use any Firearm weapons and start off with an Inspiring Novel instead of her father's Old Shotgun. Why? Because she was grounded.
"You're grounded for a week, young lady. Why won't you read some books for a change?"
    • Toshiaki's Wrong Book! has him grabbing the cult's cook book instead of the Necronomicon, completely negating his Perks in exchange for obtaining random food items now and then.
"I swear the covers were identical!"
  • Usually, an enemy's Assess Text provides an extra dash of horror by offering some background information about the enemy. And then we have the Assess text for the Bloodsuckers, who are vampiric enemies posing as nurses:
These monsters will do anything to satisfy their unquenchable thirst, even if it means going through years of a nursery school.
  • There are several masks a player can pick up and equip in the game; many of them belong to (and may be dropped by) the various enemies you face. Equipping a mask will cause your chosen character's profile image to also wear the mask. Because all but one or two of the masks are creepy beyond all reason, this usually causes your chosen character to look similarly freakish... except in the case of Haru, who will find a way to continue smoking even with a mask on, whether that means smoking through the Demon Mask's mouth, widening the slit in the Ritual Mask, or just putting his cigarette straight through the bottom half of the Karukosa Mask and Spiral Hood like they're made of rice paper. This includes the Crestfallen Mask, which has the nightmarish side effect of replacing your face with a pitch black hole should you take it off. Yes, Haru will continue to smoke a cigarette through the gaping hole in his face!
  • How does your character use the corpse dust to gain XP? Oh, they just snort it as if it was cocaine. They then wonder if their nostrils can get haunted (they apparently can, since it reduces Luck by 2).
  • A more meta example but the Memetic Mutation of " I'm going to defeat you with the power of friendship and this gun I found!" is a very viable playstyle for Mizuki, especially if you get the police pistol early.
  • Setting the seed to KIRYU and choosing Hunted by the Cult as your background replaces the enemy encounters against the Cultist Hunters with... Mayima, who is a blatant reference to Goro Majima. For extra immersion, play as Haru wearing the Mafia outfit.
  • All of the Timeline B outfits are Halloween-themed... except Yashiro's, which is just Kana's Iconic Outfit, and is called "Sorry I don't celebrate that".
