As with the source material there are moments of Black Comedy in this game.
- There are obstacles that Victims can come across that make noise and draw attention towards them. Hanging bones, the chickens…and a toilet. Yes, a fully functioning bathroom toilet. The toilet is very loud, and flushing it creates the sound alert that will let Family members know where you are, but unlike the first two (which are involuntary interactions) the toilet is entirely voluntary. Meaning that the player has to choose to flush the toilet to create noise.
- Televisions are present on the maps, and in a lot of cases if you find a television you will find corpses and skeletons propped in front of them as though they’re watching.
- The banter between the Family members can vary between disturbing and funny. Based on timing it almost sounds like they’re arguing with each other and hashing out family conflicts while they’re hunting Victims. Examples include:
- The Cook yelling at Leatherface for destroying the house.
- Sissy threatening to run away again like she’s a child throwing a temper tantrum.
- The Cook and Nancy mutually trying to exert authority over each other.
- Different family members insisting that they’re Grandpa’s favorite.
- Different family members blaming The Cook for the current situation.
- Shared lines of family members insisting that they’re the only ones who do anything and everyone else is lazy.
