The Series

Episode 1: Confessions of a Teenage Superhero
  • Stretch is introduced to the audience fighting a giant monster, and he's clearly having fun while doing it.
Stretch: Attacking the trains during rush hour? Don't you know people have places to be?
  • The monster pins stretch to the ground, but he's unconcerned... at first.
Stretch: "Oh no, you've got me trapped..." Is what I would be shouting, if I wasn't part of an awesome team!
    Monster: (roars in Stretch's face)
Stretch: (significantly less confident) Any time, guys!
  • After Omni Mass' Big Damn Heroes intro, he tries to start a chant of his name. He gets halfway through the second mention of his name before the monster just slaps him.
  • Wingspan is introduced as the team's Lovable Coward.
Wingspan: Uh, guys, let's not forget about the last time we fought this thing. I'm still sore in like, really weird places.
Stretch: Just hit him! Are you a Flex Fighter or not, Wingspan?
Wingspan: Ask me when this is over!
    • Mere text cannot do justice to the hilarious voice Steven Yeun does for that last line.
  • After the monster is seemingly defeated.
Omni Mass: I think Ugly Mc Stoneface here's had enough. Who's up for a snow cone?
Wingspan: Are you paying? Cause I don't have any pockets in this outfit?
  • Nathan is woken up when his younger siblings jump on him.
Nathan: WHAT!? WHY!? Don't eat all the cereal!
  • When Jake is showing Ricardo around school, the latter mentions that, a few differences aside, all schools are pretty much the same in terms of rules and structure, mentioning things like the jocks and cheerleaders being on top and nerds and drama geeks are at the bottom. This leads to this scent:
Jake: If I were to grade your theory, I'd give you an F''
    • Cue the nerd using his robot to tie a jock's shoes and trip him up, everyone laughing at him, and the cheerleader going to one of the drama geeks, and giving him a kiss on the cheek.
  • Ricardo tries to encourage his new overachieving friends to have some fun.
Jake: There is something I love to do, but I just haven't had time.
Nathan: Not parkour. We will definitely break our faces.
Ricardo: Parkour? Don't know what that is, but if Nathan thinks it's too dangerous then we need to do it right now.
  • The three teens end up covered in flexarium, but Nathan is the only one who got any in his mouth.
Nathan: Why in the mouth!? Why!?
  • When running from Rook security, Jake and Nathan take part in some Casual Danger Dialogue.
Nathan: I guess we don't have time to test our hypothesises!
    Jake: "Hypothesises" isn't a word!
Nathan: Then what's the plural of hypothesis?
    Jake: Hypotheses!
  • Nathan's powers activate as he tries to escape from Rook security, and all one of the members can manage to say is a very calm "That did not even happen."
  • Jake tries to slingshot himself into the monster.
Jake: I hope this hurts you more than it hurts me!
    Monster: (smacks Jake away)
    Jake: (in pain) Nope!

Episode 2: Pulled in Every Direction
  • When confronted by Rook security at the beginning of the episode, Jake and Nathan do the honorable thing and surrender peacefully.
Ricardo: You two are terrible influences.
  • The Running Gag of Nathan thinking Rook has a dungeon only for multiple characters to tell him that no one uses dungeons anymore
  • While being taken on a tour of Rook Tower by Rook, Jake tries to disguise the fact that he's a kid hero by using an obviously fake voice.
Ricardo: What's with the voice, bro?
Jake: I don't want Rook to know we're in high school!
Ricardo: Oh, I'm sure that did the trick.
    • Keep in mind that Jake is trying to hide the fact that they're in high school despite the fact that they're about a head shorter than the other adults and their super hero costumes clearly consist of things that a teenager would own.
  • Rook already has costumes, a team name, and individual codenames for each of the Flex Fighters in the same day that he met them. How? His PR team.
Rook: I had them up all night. (chuckles) They were so mad!
  • Rook himself is a walking moment of pure hilarity. He acts like a mixture of Charles Xavier and Mark Beaks.
  • Kane decides to put the Flex Fighter through their paces in his high tech training facility. Wingspan gets beaned by one of the balls that Kane launches at them.
Wingspan: (weakly) Come on, I hate dodgeball!
Omni-Mass: Really? You seem so good at it.
  • After the team's Training Montage, Wingspan cuts in with an objection.
Wingspan: Uh, Stretch? Go off comms. Isn't this a school night?
Stretch: (sighs) I hate you. You're right, but I hate you.
  • Jake is woken up by his alarm clock, but rather than turn it off like he normally does, he accidentally stretches his arm and crushes it against a wall.
Jake: This is gonna take some getting used to.
  • Ricardo clearly is unconcerned with the stresses of being a Kid Hero.
Ricardo: (mockingly) I've got super powers! But my homework's late! Boo-hoo!!
  • Ricardo thinks Jake is dating Riya, only to find out he's just a Stalker with a Crush.
Ricardo: My new friends are complete losers. How long have you been crushing on her?
Jake: Three hundred and seventy-six days. She transferred here last year. She is the woman by which all women will forever be compared.
  • When Omni-Mass points out that Stretch has no problem talking to girls during their monster fight, Stretch points out that the anonimity of the mask gives him confidence.
Stretch: I bet I could talk to Riya if I were wearing a mask.
    Omni-Mass: Mm-hmm, because that wouldn't be creepy.

    The Breakout
  • If Stretch decides to ignore Dr. C's advice to leave the escapees up to the Delta Force and Blindstrike, this exchange occurs:
Dr. C: Rook will eventually catch you, but with my help, it's possible you will accomplish some good before you are destroyed.
    (beat)
Wingspan: Was that a compliment or an insult?
    Omni-Mass: A complinsult?
    Wingspan: Nice. (high-fives Omni-Mass)
  • The Freak Sisters explain to the Flex Fighters and Blindstrike that Rook has all of the escapees under mind control, and offer to help catch them if the Flex Fighters set the Sisters free from Blindstrike's trap. Blindstrike proceeds to scan the Mind Probes, and send the readings to Dr. C, who hacks into Rook's signal. As the Flex Fighters and Blindstrike leave to catch the last two criminals, the Freak Sisters remain trapped.
Kari: Hey! What about our deal?
Stretch: Oh, I don't remember actually making a deal.
    Mari: He's totally right.
    Kari: Ugh! We blew it!
    Mari: This is your fault!

    Episode 19: Split Personalities
  • Gabe's Comical Overreacting to the sight of Nathan and Erika Holding Hands, which the couple shrugs off after he walks away.
    Gabe: No crostini for you!
  • When Mortar reports to Mark that Brick accidentally sealed his teeth together, he admits that he'd usually appreciate Brick shutting up during work, but they still need to remove the adhesive before giving a speech.
  • Riya implies rather blatantly that she's gotten away with abusing her hologram projector.
Riya: I've never actually set foot in a single Leadership class.
Jake: Because you were on missions for Dr. C?
    Riya: Uh... yeah.
  • The thought of a high-schooler becoming explosive monsters sounds dangerous in concept, but with Large Ham Gabe as the victim, and Josh Keaton voicing every piece, Hilarity Ensues.
    • The sensitive piece of Gabe-Farious attempts to lead the Flex Fighters and Blindstrike to the other parts, but doesn't take it well when he seems to bring them to the wrong spotnote :
Gabe-Farious: This is where my heart told me they would be.
Omni-Mass: I think your heart should learn how to read a map.
    • One piece Vaudeville Hooks the male lead of a play to recite Hamlet's soliloquy.
    • One piece sits crying on a park bench, until a girl hands him her balloon. It attempts to eat the balloon, making her cry instead. After she runs off, the Gabe-Farious piece smiles, with the popped balloon still in its mouth.
    • One piece gives Omni-Mass a Pie in the Face, then dances away.
    • One piece insults a random woman with a haiku:
      Sweet smell of garbage,
What dump have you come from now?
      Oh, no. It's just you.

The Trailers

  • In a combination of footage from episodes #3 and #12, Erika notices a nasty bruise on Nathan's face and asks him how he got it. Smash Cut to Nathan as Wingspan flying directly into Dr. C's Power Nullifying glass chamber and slowly sliding off of it. The epic trailer music that had been building up at that point stops immediately when Nathan crashes.
    Nathan: I'm fine.
    • The way his voice cracks while saying this is doubly funny.
    • This moment falls under Never Trust a Trailer, as Nathan actually gets the bruise during a fight against Stretch Monster.
