Sweet No Death is a RPG Maker game by arcadekitten. The game centers around Stella, a witch living in a village of anthropomorphic animals who helps them solve their problems.

The game can be downloaded here.

This video game provides examples of the following tropes:

  • Anthropomorphic Transformation: Stella did this to the animals upon her arrival at the future site of the village.
  • Ax-Crazy: Lambchop. When Stella confronts him in the back of his shop, a literal axe can even be seen, stained with blood.
  • Back from the Dead: Stella is able to restore dead animals to life with her magic.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Stella is rather chubby and she has the affections of Lambchop.
  • Control Freak: Stella has shades of this, as seen in her garden, where she alters the color of a flower to be like the others, despite not knowing if it's actually a bad sign. It's left ambiguous how aware she is of this. Lambchop brings up her micromanaging tendencies during their confrontation.
  • Fantastic Racism: During Ruuuby's flashback, Lambchop makes some contemptuous remarks concerning her carnivore status.
  • Foreshadowing:
    • When Stella looks at the animals' gifts for her, she says that Lambchop's gift is more dear to her than anyone else, revealing she does love him back. Yet she insists in treating him like the rest which causes his Heel–Face Turn.
    • Early in the game, Stella notes that she's been using her cauldron a lot more than usual lately. We soon find out why.
    • After she finds Raj's body, Stella says "No, we aren't doing this. This isn't that kind of story." before restoring him to life. Eventually, it's revealed that she knows exactly who the killer is, and she isn't happy about having to reset everything all the time.
  • Heel–Face Brainwashing: In the "Baa Baa Black Sheep" ending, Stella uses her magic to erase Lambchop's psychotic tendencies and make him Afraid of Blood
  • Interspecies Romance: Ruuuby (a wolf) has a poorly hidden crush on Lambchop (a sheep). He, in turn, is more interested in Stella (a star witch).
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: Stella erases Ruuuby's memory of being forced to eat Buck's organs.
  • Meaningful Name: Stella (who came from the stars), Acorn (a squirrel), Ruuuby (meant to emulate a wolf howling at the moon), Buck (a deer), and Lambchop (a twofer: not only does it note his species, but his habit of killing other animals with an axe).
  • Multiple Endings:
    • Bad Ending: Stella uses her magic to rewrite Lambchop's personality and make him a softspoken sheep afraid of blood.
    • True Ending: Stella decides that she wants to undersand Lambchop. The next day she paints the town with fake blood, but Lambchop says he'll keep killing the animals anyway. Stella resolves to keep reviving them.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: Lambchop rants about how Stella's obsession with maintaining the status quo prevents the animals from developing and becoming actual people in his eyes... which would probably hold a lot more water if he hadn't skipped straight to murder. Not to mention he's doing it not so much for the villagers, but because he wants Stella to notice him.
  • Pronouncing My Name for You: It's not "Ruby", it's "Ruuuby", as in "arooo".
  • Psycho Pink: Lambchop wears a pink sweater vest and is an Ax-Crazy murderer.
  • Reset Button: Stella is more or less a living one to the town, using her magic to reverse unexpected events up to and including murder. During Lambchop's Motive Rant, he even brings up that Stella isn't allowing the townspeople to grow.
