• The first thing Clefairy and Pikachu say upon gaining the ability to talk? "Happy birthday!" Leaf's reaction is priceless, as is Nurse Joy's explanation as to why they're able to talk.
  Clefairy: [simultaneously with Pikachu] Happy birthday!
  Pikachu: [simultaneously with Clefairy] Happy birthday!
  Leaf: Thanks, though I just turned 10 yesterday... wait, what?
  [it dawns upon Leaf that her Pokémon spoke to her, and she jumps backwards in fright upon the realization]
  Leaf: What did you do to them?
  Nurse Joy: Oh, I just thought I'd test a serum I created on them as I healed them. In fact, I did this to everyone in your party. I only completed the serum a few hours ago, in my spare time, and I wanted to test it out before submitting it to the Pokémon Inspection Agency.
