- In the first game, any zombie who bites Garlic will show a disgusted expression on its face, saying "Blech!" or "Blaugh!" (pictured). This doesn't happen in the sequel for some reason though.
- Any time the first zombie walks right into a rake.
- If the Newspaper Zombie loses his newspaper, he will either say "ROAR!" or "AUUUUGH!!"
- Watching a bungie zombie careen headlong into a potato mine and exploding on impact.
- "We are SO the undead!" during the end credits song.
- The Dolphin:
- "The Dolphin is also a zombie."
- The Dolphin saying "I'm gonna eat your brains." during the end credits song. ("No, no, no, no...")

When the Zombies show up, just sit there and don't do anything. You win the game when the Zombies get to your houze.

- The "WTF?!" face the zombies seem to have when their face is splattered with a giant pad of butter.
- There is an achievement called "Don't Pea in the Pool".
- In mobile and iPad versions, the Tree of Wisdom is cut. It's instead replaced with bacon, which does nothing but make Crazy Dave say "MMM, Delicious!".
- In some versions, there's a very rare chance for a basic zombie who bites on a Wall-Nut or Tall-Nut to develop a Nut Allergy and die on the spot
. This causes their face to develop a comical swelling followed by a rather hilarious death animation. - All the plant puns that are used for the in-game plants.
