Season 4

    Truth
  • Marinette having to deal with all the unleashed kwamis creating chaos in her room. Then Alya contacts her...
    • Mullo steals Tikki’s hat, much to the latter’s chagrin. Meanwhile Trixx reads Marinette’s Secret Diary, only to get caught by Marinette.
    • The kwamis are fascinated by technology, but have no idea how any of it works. Daizzi turns on and off the lamp repeatedly, Kaalki phases out of the window and loudly remarks on how modern "carriages" no longer require horses to move them; Stompp and Xuppu hop on Marinette's keyboard; Ziggy marvels on how she's invisible to this "magic painting" (i.e. Marinette's smartphone) and accidentally sends a photo of the wall behind her (which hosts a collage of Adrien's pics) to Luka. Luka... takes it in stride.
    • There is something funny about Kaalki being called a "squishie" while being treated as one to hide her identity as a Kwami.
    • Alya, Rose, Mylène, and Juleka see Marinette behaving oddly, but can't see the kwamis wreaking havoc in her room. They all come to the same conclusion: Adrien must be in Mari's house (he's not, but Luka is).
  • On their movie date, Marinette and Luka play a game where the object is to complete lyrics from Jagged Stone songs. One prompt, given by Luka, is "Under the moonlight, by the sea..."
Marinette: Oh, it's on the tip of my tongue! I know! His very first song! "Under the moonlight, by the sea," [spreads arms] "KISS ME!" [zoom out to the rest of the audience turning to stare at her; she lowers her arms and glances around with an embarrassed smile]
  • Mr. Pigeon is back once again. This time he is flying a pigeon bomber and throwing pigeon bombs on Paris.
  • Cat Noir decides to play a prank on Ladybug and sneaks up on her to startle her. It backfires when she thinks he is an enemy and throws him off a skyscraper.
  • Truth becomes increasingly frustrated because everyone he asks about Marinette's secret keeps giving him the same answer: "She's in love with Adrien Agreste." Which, as he points out the first time, is no secret.
  • Jagged Stone tells Truth about his preoccupation with being a rockstar and thereby inability to be a proper father being the reasons that he abandoned him, then quickly attests this by happily mentioning that this led to him writing a super-cool song "My guitar is my only family".
  • Light Eye confuses the Ladybug and Cat Noir cutouts for the real thing and stands there projecting its Eye Beam on them, thinking it's immobilized the heroes.

    Lies
  • Marinette watches a news report about Adrien's daily life, gushing about how wonderful and amazing his life is. Cut to Adrien returning to his room, moaning about how unbearably long and tiring this day was.
  • Cat Noir's voicemail uses Plagg's voice. And every time he checks it, Plagg's voice gets more and more annoyed, as if he's tired of Cat Noir checking so often.
"No messages. Don't forget my cheese!"
  • Since Ladybug is late, Cat Noir has to patrol the city on his own.
    • First, he's signaled by a trio of kids. He hops down, excited that it's time for action... only to be informed that they just want a selfie with him.
    • Then, he hangs out on a bench with Mr. Banana and Mr. Ramier. He tries asking Mr. Banana a pun-filled question, only to be soundly ignored.
    • Frustrated, he turns around to Mr. Ramier, Hawk Moth's most frequent akuma target, and asks him if he's missed being Mr. Pigeon. Isn't Ramier feeling sad or angry or maybe even a little annoyed? Ramier misinterprets Cat's interest and assures him that he's feeling just fine.
    • Later, he goes to the Grand Paris hotel, heads straight to the bar and asks Jean the butler to serve him his usual: a glass of milk. After witnessing an argument between Chloé and Sabrina, which Chloé initiated and resolved without letting Sabrina utter a single word, he changes his order to a double milk.
    • Not to mention that everyone keeps asking him how "dear Ladybug" is doing while neglecting to ask the same of him.
    • And of course, Mr. Ramier was akumatized just after Cat decided to end the patrol because nothing of interest was happening.
  • Plagg finally shows his support of Adrien's feelings for Ladybug. Predictably, he does so using a metaphor involving cheese.
    • Bonus point: the next scene cuts to Adrien staring at a plate with two different cheese slices on it.
  • Kagami states that her mother does not think of her as a good artist, despite the fact that Tomoe is blind.
  • The quick and confused "Excuse me?" out of Adrien after Kagami asks him if he loves her too rather has a Cringe Comedy value to it.

    Gang of Secrets
  • The Eiffel Tower has been destroyed (and fixed) once again.
  • Ladybug watching a movie with Cat Noir before ranting about romantic comedies being unrealistic while obviously (to the audience) using the difficulties of her own life as a comparison point, ruining the experience for all the other people in the cinema.
    • Cat Noir guides Ladybug out of the auditorium and then out of the cinema, apologizing all the way to the people they come across, while Ladybug keeps ranting.
  • Once again, Alix proves to be the Only Sane Man in her friend group. When she suggests they just take Marinette on a smoothie date to talk about her problems instead of performing a symbolic friendship ritual, the others just give her blank stares and Alix concedes with a simple "Okay."
  • Trixx creating an illusion of a "dancing" Eiffel Tower.
  • Plagg complains that even though he hasn't done anything foolish this time, he still has to help fix Trixx's mess.

    Mr. Pigeon 72
  • The fact that, before this episode, Mr. Pigeon has been akumatized 71 times.
  • Marinette trying to brew a potion while simultaneously bringing Alya up to speed on what's happened since she became the new Guardian, all while she's in her Ladybug getup.
    • Marinette in her ladybug suit with a pink polka-dot robe on over the top and her hair wrapped up in a matching towel. In contrast, Alya is in her normal clothes.
    • The potion keeps blowing up, scaring Marinette's parents down in the bakery. Apparently, she told them that it's a "science project".
  • One of Marinette's latest inventions is an utterly ridiculous cowboy hat with a pair of bulky antennae attached that's supposed to allow her to listen for Shadow Moth trying to sneak up on her.
  • Upon hearing that Adrien and Kagami broke up, Marinette declares that she has to console... Kagami. Alya is aghast and wondering aloud if the magical fumes are getting into Marinette's brain.
  • Marinette denies being in love with Adrien while she has her walls decorated with photos of him. And a photo of him stuck on her forearm.
  • Marinette almost leaves the house as Ladybug before Alya makes her aware of it. Then she detransforms and almost leaves the house in her pajamas before Alya makes her aware of it.
  • Kagami practicing her fencing in the park, only to be tackle hugged from behind by an excitable Marinette.
    Marinette: Kagamiiiiiiiii!
    • Kagami and her mother's reaction to Marinette's sudden appearance:
      Kagami: Mother, you remember Marinette?
Mother: (dryly) Yes, I distinctly remember your very...unique friend.
  • Marinette taking Kagami away and leaving a basket of pastries for her mother. What's even more hilarious is how strict the mom usually is with Kagami's life and she just accepts Marinette dragging her daughter away from practice and tries some of the bread.
  • Marinette trying to reunite Kagami and Adrien and dragging her around while ignoring her protests.
    • When Marinette won't stop chattering about bringing her and Adrien together, Kagami tries to stop her by phoning her. It fails.
    • Among Marinette's efforts to reunite Kagami and Adrien involves making them looking into each other's eyes...by physically holding her up in the air as Adrien dives into a pool of water. The end result is Kagami being lifted off the ground by Marinette and carried several feet to be in the right spot, all the while struggling in vain to free herself.
  • Plagg complains that being up this early to jump into water for a commercial is frankly insane. Adrien placates his complaints by wordlessly-revealing that he thought to bring an entire gym bag full of camembert wedges for Plagg.
  • Adrien crashing into poor Edgar as Adrien falls backward while he and Marinette have a romantic falling moment. The squeaky sound of the Adrien's impact doesn't even interrupt the romantic music playing.
  • When Ramier's pigeon Edgar almost drowns he saves it with mouth-to-beak insufflation.
  • Marinette and Adrien briefly sharing an Umbrella of Togetherness, only for the umbrella to snap shut on both of them.
    • Adrien bumping his head on the car door, prompting an amused giggle from Marinette and a nervous chuckle from Adrien.
  • In the end, Kagami becomes an Adrienette shipper, even saying that the two are perfect for each other. The irony is delicious.
  • As it turns out, the commercial going south wasn't some plan by Gabriel to gain a new Akuma. He took advantage of the opportunity, but he was honestly just trying to make a fragrance commercial that kept getting accidentally derailed by Marinette.

    Psycomedian
  • After Gabriel agrees to let Adrien watch Harry Clown's show, Harry and Marinette celebrate by running around in a circle, pumping their arms while shouting "He said yes!".
  • Marinette's painfully embarrassing attempt to reenact Harry Clown's cowboy skit, whom she thinks Adrien loves... when in reality, he doesn't find him that funny. Cringe Comedy at its finest.
  • Adrien hopes that Psycomedian's spell will vanish when Ladybug transforms back. Unfortunately for him, both Marinette and Tikki are in foul moods, though they're coherent enough they can transform again... but not enough that Cat Noir can bring them to where Psycomedian is without binding her again, this time in a carpet.
  • When Ladybug tries for a second lucky charm (angrily, naturally), she gets a very straightforward item— a motorcycle helmet that not only would stop them from seeing Psycomedian's face, but stop him from squeaking his red nose. Trouble is that it's too simple for Ladybug's Complexity Addiction, and she crushes it.
  • After Ladybug realizes she needs Cat Noir's belt and says "Give me that ridiculous belt!", he responds by saying:
Cat Noir: Hey, leave my costume out of it.
    • In the French dub, Cat Noir instead says, in a completely calm and unconcerned tone, "We don't make fun of our costumes." Implying that the designer and the son of a fashion mogul have opinions on their costumes, but agreed not to talk about it.
  • Though the Lucky Charm is ruined, the plan itself still works, so they borrow/steal a helmet from an idle motorist. Cat Noir tells her to wait five minutes to get it back.
  • Cat Noir has entirely too much fun painting the replacement helmet with makeup and nail varnish. Rather than just painting the visor he covers the whole thing in red with black dots!
  • Even after they release the akuma, Ladybug is still furious, turning her once an episode catchphrases into something rather more comedic.
"There, it's over! Everyone can just go home now! [unspools her yoyo, spins it around] Time to de-evilize! [catches the Akuma] Gotcha! [releases the butterfly] Get lost, little butterfly! [picks up the still crushed helmet from her Lucky Charm] Alright already, Miraculous Ladybug!"
  • Ladybug's relief at no longer being angry is oddly funny in and of itself.

    Furious Fu
  • Marinette having to deal with all the kwamis, especially when they all persistently want to see Master Fu again.
    • When Marinette protests that someone needs to stay behind to guard the Miracle Box, the kwamis play a sort of counting out game to see who it will be and select... Marinette, as though over a dozen kwamis flying around out in the open to visit someone who doesn't remember them won't draw attention. Marinette vetoes that one instantly.
    • When Barkk volunteers to stay (she hadn't really been part of all the begging in the first place), the remaining kwamis fly into Marinette's backpack. She urges them to stay quiet. They respond by cheering, to her frustration.
    • They start singing while she's at the train station. Marinette is forced to say it's her phone's ringtone and threatens tossing "her phone" in the trash if "it" can't stay quiet.
  • Barkk volunteering to guard the Miracle Box could be seen as her being Properly Paranoid due to Su-Han's later appearance. However, when she does so, she is sitting in front of Marinette's computer, which is in the middle of a movie, making it seem like she's more interested in the movie than potentially seeing Master Fu again and is just using guard duty as an excuse to stay behind.
  • Su-Han hiding in a trashcan, and later in a bicycle basket.
  • Master Fu sees Wayzz, thinks he is a toy and gives him to Marinette. Wayzz is over the moon that his Master touched him.
  • Apparently Fu's nickname back in the temple was "Whiny Chicken Leg".
  • Su-Han reveals that Plagg is the reason why the dinosaurs and dragons are extinct.
  • Su-Han is confused by the modern world and almost attacks a TV. He also marvels at Marinette's Bug-Phone, apparently amazed at the idea that she does not have to use doves to communicate.
  • Furious Fu/Master Fu confusing Cat Noir with a wingless bat repeatedly.
  • Marinette gives Su-Han a new pair of shoes since the old ones are so badly damaged that you can see his toes.

    Sole Crusher
  • When Chloé is chased by Sole Crusher, she sacrifices several civilians and Marinette's parents without any hesitation. Later, she does the same to Marinette.
  • Chloé has a notebook where she writes down ideas on how to ruin Marinette's life. It's just incredibly petty even by Chloé's usual standards.
  • Chloé demonstrates how she uses André to do whatever she wants by ordering him to paint the limousine pink. She slams the door on his confused face, but when the limousine is seen again, it is now bright pink.
  • Sabrina is locked in the closet where she has to do Chloé's homework. Chloé also forces her to run beside her car while she is carrying her stuff.
  • As Marinette is discussing Zoé's sudden personality change, her friends try to figure out what to do with her. Alya and Alix propose they get rid of Zoé, Mylène wonders how they're going to manage that, while Rose cheerfully asks if they can adopt her.
  • When Marinette is kidnapped by Sole Crusher, Tikki orders Kaalki to use Voyage and find Adrien to get Cat Noir's help. As she's rushing into his room to alert him, she slams face first into his window.
    • Since Kaalki used her powers without an owner, the portal she created starts sucking in objects around Adrien's room, including Plagg's camembert. The gluttonous kwami is depressed at the loss of his cheese.
    • Afterwards, it's shown that anything that goes through the kwami-generated portal is sent to random spots across the universe. The camembert is seen floating in space, and Adrien's foosball table lands in the gorilla exhibit of a zoo.
  • Cat Noir arrives on the scene with his usual pun banter. But since he interrupted Marinette's "I Know You're in There Somewhere" Fight speech, she tells him off for cutting in.
    • Cat Noir doesn't go to fight Zoé until about twenty seconds later, which means he actually did wait until she was finished.
  • Even while the giant Sole Crusher is surely on their heels (heh) and in spite of his new depths shown this episode, André Bourgeois reminds us that he is still very much a Henpecked Husband by bothering to turn over to Ladybug and Cat Noir and asking them to promise to not tell his wife about his compartment containing the mementos of his lost dreams of film directing when he shows them it (because Ladybug realized that's where the akuma is in).
  • Outraged at Zoé making friends with her schoolmates instead of humiliating Marinette like she claimed she would, Chloé orders her mother to fire Zoé.

    Queen Banana
  • Chloé gives a very meta description of Zoé: "My half of a sister who literally came out of nowhere!?"
  • Marinette's response to Chloé calling her costume design "worse than lame?"
Marinette: That's why it suits you so well, Chloé.
  • Chloé keeps changing the script and making utterly ridiculous demands. Whenever she meets resistance, she simply calls for her father, with André getting more and more tired as Chloé keeps calling on him.
    • This exchange between Thomas and Marinette during the first script edit:
Thomas: You know, it's not uncommon to have to adapt the script on the set at the last minute for production reasons. It's called—
Marinette: That's baloney? A waste of time? Giving up on your dreams?
      Thomas: ...a revision.
  • When Chloé sees her classmates lying on the ground, she tells them that she doesn't want to "save" them. She wants to throw them into the trash instead.
  • Once she demands the script to be more challenging, we cut to Marinette locking Adrien in a cage to high-end the challenge...and of course she ends up calling him gorgeous because why not?
  • Then when Chloé demands a new "super duper Uber villain", a frustrated Nino straight up bangs his head on a nearby camera
  • Then when Chloé request said villain to be a giant yellow gorilla that slings explosive bananas, she gets one in the form of a portrait of one...of which she demands a REAL one, where by this point Nino has a face of pure exhaustion
  • When Shadow Moth goes on his usual Deal with the Devil banter, Chloé cuts him off because she's been through this enough times to already know what he wants and just wants to get on with it. Subversion of the usual episode formula at its finest!
  • Queen Banana calling her sentimonster Banana Boom-Boom.
  • Ladybug saving Cat Noir by wrapping him up with her yoyo, pulling him to her, then twirling him around until he lands in her arms.
  • Ladybug summons her Lucky Charm and prepares to catch it... except this time it's a motorcycle, which almost crushes her before she freaks out and jumps out of the way.
  • When Cat Noir attempts to Cataclysm Queen Banana's vehicle, she simply moves out of the way, resulting in Cat Noir hitting the sentimonster instead, and the sentimonster going berserk. Cat Noir's high-pitched, sheepish reaction is priceless.
    Ladybug: (facepalming) Urgh...
    Cat Noir: Oops!
  • When Vesperia goes after the sentimonster and activates Venom, it casually tosses Cat Noir aside and he slams into a Ferris Wheel, complete with him slowly sliding down after impact.
  • The fact that Vesperia uses the iconic Sailor Moon pose when she introduces herself to Cat Noir.

    Gabriel Agreste
  • Nathaniel and Marc come up with a plan how Marinette, the knight in shining armor can save princess Adrien from the evil Gabriel.
  • Chloé and Sabrina literally coming through the ceiling (like in Mission Impossible) and revealing that they filmed the "conspiracy". How long have they been up there?
  • Chloé keeps trying to show Gabriel the video but is rejected every single time, much to her frustration.
  • Félix once again pretends to be Adrien to mess with Chloé. She falls for it immediately.
  • Between Chloé heading to the ballroom to try and show Gabriel the video and Félix going off to try and confront Gabriel, Adrien is left alone with Kagami. He tries to strike up a conversation, but she just gives him a Death Glare.
  • Bob Roth of all people being the unlikely hero who finally deletes Chloé's video.

    Mega Leech
  • Mylène and Ivan demonstrated against Project Oxygen for six months but somehow nobody noticed them.
  • Marinette straight up forgets about saving the trees and the park when she sees Adrien's latest ad about Project Oxygen. She starts going on about his cuteness... until Alya gently nudges her jaw to the left, showing her that Adrien is standing right next to her.
    • Alya's half-amused, half-exasperated reaction to Marinette's gushing is a thing of beauty.
      • Adrien later grabs Marinette's hand as the start of a show of solidarity with the protesting, and she naturally is in shock and blushing. This soon causes Marinette to be recorded on Paris television being absorbed with staring at Adrien, in case anyone in Paris couldn't see it yet.
  • André clearly hadn't prepared for protestors to show up for his groundbreaking ceremony, and definitely wasn't prepared to deal with the media. At one point, with Mylène questioning him about how Project Oxygen is less environmentally-friendly than just leaving the park alone, he agrees with her assessment, and then realizes that he's saying this on camera.
  • Kim keeps asking what "rehabilitation" means.
  • Chloé's defense of Project Oxygen boils down to: "Adrien looks really cute in the ad, so Project Oxygen is a-ok".
  • The mini-Malediktators take control of the people of Paris by jumping into their ears, setting up a podium, and barking orders.
    • After they do this to someone, they start trying to knock down the trees, mostly completely ineffectively since it's by striking them with their bare limbs (or in Alix's case, just a shovel). Only the muscular Nora manages to uproot a tree (with her bare hands).
  • When Ladybug tries to give Mylène the Mouse Miraculous, she is more than a little bit hesitant.
Mylène: No, Ladybug! I can't be a superhero. I'm scared of everything. Look, I have a badge for my fear of water, one for my fear of beasts. I need a necklace to help me get over my fear of badges!
  • When Ladybug assembles the team (Carapace, Vesperia, Pegasus, Ryuko, and Polymouse), Cat Noir immediately notices the opportunity for a "group shot" and runs over to the others. Sure enough, the next shot has the heroes posing dramatically while getting ready to take down Mega Leech.
  • At the start of the mayor's ceremony for Project Oxygen, the fire chief declares that the chainsaw he's giving the mayor is in good condition and will only be operated by an adult who has read the instruction manual, gives a thumbs up, and tells the mayor he may proceed...and he does the same spiel again after the mayor cancels Project Oxygen, but with a shovel.

    Guiltrip
  • Adrien lampshades Marinette's Gibberish of Love... and he still has no idea why she sometimes stumbles over her words.
  • Shadow Moth tells Reflekta that the Guiltrip sentimonster will cause those who broke promises to Rose to take the guilt trip of a lifetime...and then Reflekta fittingly uses it on herself, to Shadow Moth's surprise.
  • A few Mood Whiplashes manage to lighten some truly dark moments:
    • Rose sneezes... and the entire class (minus Chloé, Sabrina, and Lila) spirals into panicky overprotectiveness.
    • Lila taking cover from the insane chaos around her. Also Chloé just watching it disapprovingly.
    • When Rose runs in to inform everyone that Juleka has been abducted by a sentimonster, Ms. Mendeleiev is shocked to discover that everyone has abandoned the class to save her...except for Lila, Chloé and Sabrina, who are still nonchalantly listening to the lesson.
    • Rose runs into Ladybug and Cat Noir inside Guiltrip and immediately starts fangirling over them, completely oblivious to the fact that they're both covered in guilt bubbles and sport Dull Eyes of Unhappiness.
    • Ladybug hands Rose the Pig Miraculous and instructs her on its use while Cat Noir is floating by them, covered (again) in guilt bubbles.
    • Rose making the whole class laugh (except Chloé) by joking about her illness. When Chloé complains that nobody ever laughs when she says such things, Adrien tells her that it's because she actually means them. Chloé can't disagree with that and actually accepts this reason without any further complaints.

    Crocoduel
  • When Jagged Stone appears on the Liberty for the first time, Anarka appears to angrily confront him. When Jagged asks how she knew he was here when he was stealthy when entering:
Anarka: Your tour bus is parked outside, ya one hit wonder.
  • Shadow Moth's attempts trying to akumatize people only for the people immediately having the negative emotion drift away.
    • First, Luka is upset believing Marinette doesn't want to be his friend anymore. Shadow Moth takes this opportunity to akumatize him, only for his friends to cheer him up and telling him that they love him.
    • Second, Juleka feels guilty for not telling Luka to go away so Marinette doesn't have to see him. Shadow Moth immediately tries to akumatize her. Seeing Juleka upset because of it, Marinette apologizes for her selfish demands to Juleka, considering that Juleka cares a lot about Luka.
    • Third, Jagged Stone comes to Luka and Juleka's party, surprising their friends. Not only that, their friends find out that Jagged Stone is Luka and Juleka's father. Shadow Moth then believes that their friends will feel crushed and betrayed after learning that Jagged Stone is Juleka and Luka's father only now... only to get wrong, when they celebrate the fact that their friends are related to a big-shot celebrity. Along with Shadow Moth saying:
Shadow Moth: Oh... I should have known better...
    • Fourth, Juleka believes that Jagged Stone only cares about Luka since he seems to get along with him so well. and tells Marinette about it. After that, they found out about Luka and Jagged Stone's conversation. Juleka sees Jagged Stone handing Luka a guitar case and tells him "Don't tell your sister.", making her believe that he's getting expensive presents of the sort she's not getting. Shadow Moth, seeing this chance immediately, tries to akumatize Juleka, but it's ruined again by Marinette Calling the Old Man Out towards Jagged for only giving Luka presents and not Juleka. But then, it's revealed that the guitar case holds a bass guitar, intended as a present for Juleka herself. Shadow Moth then gets quite frustrated after this yet another failed akumatization.
  • Rose pretends that Marinette can't see Luka because she needs to take care of her "aqua-pony" when asked by Luka why she can't come, which sounds like the most Rose-like lie ever. Luka clearly doesn't buy it. Bad Liar? No, she actually believed aqua-ponies were a thing. She even believes that Luka and Marinette should just go to "aqua-pony" class to make up and be friends again.
  • When Marinette tries to convince Juleka to help her avoiding Luka, she hides behind a garbage can all the the time. Even better, Juleka believes that it is a talking garbage can at first and thinks that it is awesome.
  • When Ladybug is fighting both Captain Hardrock and Guitar Villain, Hardrock asks "Where are you, Cat Noir? The show has already started!". Cut to Adrien who's getting blush makeup.
  • When both Captain Hardrock and Guitar Villain go away and finish their duel, Cat Noir says that it's not fair because they don't have wings or flying ships.
  • After Ladybug gives Juleka the usual "temporary Miraculous holder" speech, we get this exchange.
    Ladybug: Can I trust you?
    Juleka: Yes.
Roaar: What? I can't hear you!
    Juleka: (slightly louder) Yes!
Roaar: I still can't hear you! Come on, is that all you got?
    Juleka: I said, YES!
(Roaar goes flying into the nearest wall)
Roaar: Ooh, you are good! You and I are gonna get along just fine!
  • When Ladybug introduces Cat Noir to Purple Tigress, he lampshades the obvious costume similarities between himself and Purple Tigress. Then Cat Noir flirts with Purple Tigress, eliciting a Facepalm from Ladybug.
  • Cat Noir's Jaw Drop when Purple Tigress uncorks a Megaton Punch on Crocoduel and sends them back to the air.
  • After Crocoduel is defeated and returns back into Jagged and Anarka, both are still arguing and blaming each other. This stops after Juleka yells at them to stop and subsequently apologizes, saying that it doesn't matter who started the whole thing and it's in the past. Both Anarka and Jagged apologize, only to go back arguing over who was wrong— except now instead of blaming each other, they're trying to take the heat for each other.

    Optigami
  • Alya implies she's going to try to force Marinette to get close to Adrien in the elevator and starts pushing her in. Marinette resists by spreading all of her limbs out over the elevator's doorframe and pushing back, in plain view of everyone else.
  • Once again Shadow Moth operates from a bathroom. And this time, Alec is in the bathroom as well, and he goes into a panic attack once he realizes Shadow Moth is there.
  • When Marinette calls the kwamis and asks for a horse, Kaalki is obstinate that Marinette couldn't have been talking about her because she's not a horse, she's a steed, dammit, and that Marinette was obviously talking about Fluff instead. Sass agrees with this assessment because rabbits and horses share a common ancestor far enough back and Marinette is forced to insist not that.
Fluff: Let's go back to prehistoric times!
  • Style Queen starts to shoot at Chloé, Zoé attempts to pull her down to prevent her getting hit, Chloé reacts by being characteristically terrible and trying to pull Zoé in front of the shot, only to get them both glittered at once.
  • Kim decides to race the elevator by climbing the stairs. Much later in the episode, he emerges from the stairwell, out of breath and wondering if he won, only to get glittered by Style Queen.
  • Audrey cuts off Shadow Moth’s speech, offering to give him the Miraculouses if he gives her her powers back.
  • Kaalki is shown teleporting on her own several times. She sends the Eiffel Tower into a desert and the Arc de Triomphe onto the moon.

    Sentibubbler
  • During Marinette's nightmare, Chloé suddenly appears at the dining table, knowing that Ladybug is Marinette and berating her for insisting that their identities can't be known and then telling Alya her identity. She then says that she would be a better Ladybug. Marinette is understandably confused, and asks Alya what she's doing in her house.
  • The monster of Loch Ness was a creation of Trixx.
  • Marinette's and Nino's panicked reactions whenever they see the spider. Later, the spider even ends up in a bubble next to Nino's, and he desperately tries to get away from it.
  • Shadow Moth places the amok in a coffee cup, evidently because he wanted a drink on the go.
  • Pegabug's smug smile when she takes the cup from a dumbfounded Shadow Moth.
  • Cat Noir uses Cataclysm to destroy a bubble Sentibubbler puts him in...and then just gets stuck in another one five seconds later anyway.

    Glaciator 2
  • The opening battle proves once and for all that shipping the heroic duo is Serious Business in Paris:
    • The civilians are all ignoring the battle in order to continue reading the latest gossip about Ladybug and Cat Noir. And instead of freaking out about being under attack by an akumatized villain, they compliment the cute couple.
Civilian: [holding out a magazine] Cat Noir, can I have an autograph?
    • This finally clues the duo into the fact that they've made the news as "Paris' couple of the year", as an article in the aforementioned magazine and a trully absurd number of billboards all over Paris show.
    • Ladybug is incensed and, as usual, tries to explain that she and Cat Noir are not a couple. She doesn't exactly make a convincing case for it:
Ladybug: This is baloney! All of these photos are taken out of context! We were fighting supervillains! [points at a picture of Ladybug kissing Cat Noir from "Dark Cupid"] This one is me breaking Cat Noir out of Dark Cupid's spell, [points at a picture of Ladybug and Cat Noir kissing from "Oblivio"] and this one... we can't even remember this one cause the villain erased our memories!
Glaciator: [with an audible eye-roll] Of course, it's always the supervillain's fault.
    • The fact that the battle with Glaciator grinds to a halt during all this because the supervillain is more interested in shipping the heroes rather than fighting them.
  • Adrien seems to be all over Paris on billboards again...just this time no one knows it's him since the picture is instead Cat Noir and Ladybug kissing from "Oblivio".
  • Looking for someone to practice her love confession to Adrien, Marinette notices Cat Noir and waves him over.
    • Marinette goes into full Motor Mouth mode when trying to explain what she wants, leaving Cat Noir confused. She ends up roping him into helping her anyway by plonking him down on a stool.
    • Marinette refuses to tell the name of her crush to Cat Noir, and decides to use the codename "Buttercup".
Cat Noir: [snickering] His name is "Buttercup"?
Marinette: Of course, that's not his real name, it's a code name! Come on, start over. [pushes Cat Noir back on the seat] Dear Buttercup, ever since I met you, I've had three suns in my—-
      [Cat Noir starts cackling]
Marinette: Come on, would you please concentrate? This is serious!
Cat Noir: Sorry! It's the Buttercup name. [clears throat]
    • Cat Noir then makes a silly "serious" face, which prompts Marinette to ask him if he's okay.
Marinette: Be serious, but not serious like you're trying to solve a math problem.
    • After so many interruptions, Marinette ends up snarling her words. When Cat Noir tries to interrupt her again:
      Marinette: What is it now!?
Cat Noir: Uh, well, if you don't mind me saying, now it sounds like you're mad at me instead of in love with me.
Marinette: [furious] I'm not mad! I'm declaring my love to you, isn't it obvious?
Cat Noir: Let's just say it could be more obvious.
    • This prompts Marinette to give him the script to read, since he obviously knows so much more than her. Cat Noir obliges and reads Marinette's love speech, and it's so over-the-top that Marinette thinks he's making fun of her. While he was overacting a bit, it was in pretty much the same way Marinette was, and the words were all Marinette's since he was just reading the script.
  • Marinette and Cat Noir decide to see a movie together, but try to avoid romantic comedies or superhero movies. They pick Sharktank vs. Mechatiger, which sounds like a good old-fashioned Kaiju brawl, only to find out that it's about a romance between the two titular kaiju. The irritated looks on their faces when they realize are precious.
Cat Noir: But they don't even have mouths! How are they supposed to kiss?!
    [CLANG!]
  • Once again, the Lucky Charm is a kind of vehicle. This time, it's a big honkin' sports car. And once again, Ladybug shrieks and has to dodge out of the way before it flattens her as she tries to catch it.
  • Just the sheer idea that Kagami of all people got her relationship advice from a manga she hadn't even finished reading yet (and, in the book, eventually resulted in the exact opposite of the result Kagami was aiming for) is pretty amusing in and of itself.

    Hack-San
  • Marinette and Tom continue to complain about the dreaded Shu Yin Cheng and really don't want to visit her. Sabine is not amused.
  • Trixx complaining about Alya having to wear the Ladybug Miraculous while Marinette is away. He is not happy to share his human with Tikki.
  • Adrien has to feed Plagg his power-up food, but since he's in the middle of a squabble with Alya/not-Ladybug, he keeps yanking the cheese away from Plagg just as the kwami is about to take a bite. By the third time this happens, Plagg's frustration is almost palpable.
  • Alya goes through several atrocious aliases before settling for Scarabella. Some of the names she suggests are so bad that Cat Noir immediately shoots them down.
    • Markov apparently can't keep it straight what her name is supposed to be so he just calls her "human superhero" when Scarabella suggests they negotiate.
  • Scarabella continues to do all kind of superhero poses.
  • Marinette making Rapunzel proud and knocking Robostus out with a frying pan.

    Rocketear
  • A scientist found a way to bring back dinosaurs, and apparently thought that the T-Rex of all species merited a revival into the modern world. And she created four of them for some reason. Even she admits that this was probably a bad idea.
    • The T-Rexs are growling and snapping their jaws at Carapace and Cat Noir, but turn into excitable puppies eager for a belly rub once the doctor uses her "dino whistle".
    • Once the heroes leave the doctor with her pet dinosaurs, Bob Roth appears on a helicopter and offers to buy the T-Rexs off the doctor and build an amusement park on an island. That's gonna end well...
  • Appropriately enough for someone who has been Bubbler and Carapace, Nino playing detective blows a bunch of bubbles around him instead of smoking as the detectives he's parodying would do.
    • He also can't seem to decide which detecitve he's parodying, as he wears a Holmes-esque deerstalker hat, a Bogart-esque trenchcoat, and a Poirot-esque moustache.
  • After Nino expresses the belief that Alya has fallen for Cat Noir, which Adrien initially laughs off as impossible, Plagg comments that his natural charisma must have infected Cat Noir, making Adrien reconsider his stance. Cue Cat Noir arriving in Alya's balcony in the middle of the night to clear things up.

    Wishmaker
  • Plagg suggests that he and Adrien can open a cheese shop in the future. Adrien has to remind him that the owner of a cheese shop has to sell the cheese, not eat it.
  • Everything after Jagged Stone turns into a crocodile. He tries to swim at the shore but forgets that, ironically enough, he can't swim, which forces Luka to come and rescue him.
Luka: But Dad, crocodiles know how to swim.
    Jagged: I didn’t when I was a kid.
  • When Ladybug and Cat Noir are fighting with Wishmaker, Wishmaker says that he's trying to make people happy and help them live their dreams.
Cat Noir: (completely deadpan, pointing at something over his shoulder) Would you really call this a dream?
(camera reveals a cucumber, which later turns out to be Mr. Banana, rolling down the street)
Cucumber: Look! Look! I'm a cucumber! Woohoohoo!!
  • Marinette wanted to be the knitting fairy when she was a kid. Hilarious and adorable.
  • When Wishmaker reveals Cat Noire's secret identity, we cut to a weirdly angled extreme closeup of a bug eyed, stupefied Hawkmoth saying "My...son?" in a way that's somehow both extremely hammy and completely deadpan at once. It fits the shock of the moment, but also does look very much like some kind of very bizarre reaction meme.
  • Wishmaker suffers quite possibly the most embarrassing defeat of any Akuma yet. A nearby civilian wanted to be a dino plushie when he was a kid, so one of Wishmaker's blasts is reflected into him by Viperion, turning him into a GIANT plushie that traps Wishmaker in a massive Bear Hug, allowing Ladybug to snatch his staff and Cat Noir to Cataclysm it. It's enough to make someone wish that THEY got Cataclysmed instead.
    • After being de-akumatized, Alec is left in an awkward position with the random civilian.

    Simpleman
  • While Marinette is trying to watch the kids, they find her "stuffed animal" collection. Meaning Xuppu, Kaalki, and Fluff. All three have looks of pure Oh, Crap! as they're being manhandled by children (including Manon and Chris pulling Fluff's ears) and can't speak or move, lest they risk giving themselves away.
  • Marinette and her Complexity Addiction strikes again! As she comes up with a convoluted way to win Adrien's heart, Manon asks why she can't just give him a drawing that shows her feelings - that she was trying to hide from Manon, no less.
    • The simplifying wave causes Marinette to abandon her kooky plan to break the wing prop he's using to try to get another chance to ask him to go to the movies and instead just tell him she loves him. To her credit, she legitimately tries to after everyone's gone back to normal before falling prey to her usual impediments in that regard.
  • Rolland thinks the plot of the Ladybug movie that the kids are watching is too complicated to follow. Mind you, the plot points he complains about (the black-suited character with destructive powers being a good guy and the villain corrupting ordinary citizens) are drawn from the actual universe Roland lives in. Seems he doesn't follow the news much...
    • That this inadvertently caused him to get akumatized, because he tried to get the kids to watch something else but doesn't understand how to use a laptop so the kids get rambunctious after he accidentally turns off the movie and can't figure out how to get any video working.
  • Rolland decides to play a different video for the kids, so he produces a VHS tape and attempts to insert it into Marinette's laptop. All he accomplishes is accidentally turning off the movie.
  • Simpleman himself: he just looks like Roland wearing a lazily-created leotard and mask, with a cape held in place with a clothespin, and he rejects Shadow Moth's attempts at supervillain names in favor of the most on-the-nose name possible. He keeps Roland's out-of-shape figure and, even with superpowers, occasionally hurts his back when moving too quickly.
    • Shadow Moth is peeved Simpleman was overeager to hit all of Paris with powers (and thus, also Shadow Moth), but Simpleman's response for him to make up his mind whether he wants the Miraculous or not has him dejectedly let Simpleman persist and leaving Simpleman with the last word.
    • Unlike all other Akumatized villains who terrorize the civilians, Simpleman is still basically just Roland babysitting the kids until sees Ladybug and Cat Noir. This includes buying them icecream and defending them from hostile pizza (it makes sense in context).
  • Simpleman casts his simplifying wave on everyone but the kids. This turns everyone into lazy idiots:
    • Shadow Moth initially chides Simpleman for hitting him, but since he's been simplified, Simpleman easily convinces him it would be simpler to just let him keep doing what he's doing.
    • While driving, people decide it's far simpler to just keep driving in straight lines instead of turning, stopping, paying attention to road signs or other cars...
    • Officer Roger doesn't even try to figure out what caused the ensuing wreck and traffic jam and just fines everyone in a car.
    • Nadja Chamack's news report turns into her being a complete Captain Obvious, barely describing anything newsworthy before handing control to Clara.
    • Clara, meanwhile, wants a nice simple shot hovering above the cars and tells her pilot to stop moving. Which he does by turning off the helicopter's engine.
    • Marinette almost transforms out in the open instead of finding cover. When Tikki reminds her to hide, she is frozen by the possibilities of hiding places (all two of them) and lets the helicopter crash.
    • Adrien is tempted to just stand in place smiling for the next shoot. Fortunately, he decides that the simple thing to do is follow his heart and help Ladybug.
    • Ladybug and Cat Noir decide the simplest way to win is to go to Shadow Moth directly. Since they don't know where Shadow Moth is, they just wander the streets calling for him to show up.
    • In a Funny Background Event, a garbage man throws the entire bin into the trash
    • The kids see André and want ice cream. They each order individual flavors, but there's now only vanilla, since it's much simpler to stock only one flavor.
    • A pizza delivery boy tosses veggie pizzas all over the place. Again, only one kind of pizza since it's simpler that way, and also simpler to just give everybody a pizza rather than keep track of who ordered one or not. Simpleman actually agrees with him.
    • Simpleman orders the heroes to hand over their Miraculous, which devolves into a very simple and childish "yes!" "no!" argument. Once they start fighting, the heroes can't do any complicated fighting techniques...and really, neither can Simpleman.
  • And this goes up to eleven when Simpleman casts a second wave.
    • The car drivers decide that driving is too hard and just walk.
    • Roger starts just arresting everyone he sees because he's angry.
    • Nadja can barely form a coherent sentence.
"I'm Na-na. Cla-cla no longer here. Paris is aaaallll broken! Bug-bug, Meow-meow, HELP!"
      • Simpleman and the kids seemingly become the only ones who can form full sentences! Everyone else, including the heroes and Shadow Moth can barely speak more than two sentences at a time!
    • The kids have to remind Ladybug to call her Lucky Charm, and when she gets a ball, the only thing she can think of to do with it is throw it at Simpleman.
    • The best plan Shadow Moth can come up with is to bribe Ladybug and Cat Noir with candy. This almost works!
    • The heroes declare that Simpleman is simply too powerful for them. Right before Simpleman has a *Crack!* "Ow, My Back!" moment.
  • "Simpleman" was Shadow Moth's third choice for a name, as Roland rejected the first two for being too complicated.

    Qilin
  • Sabine knows that Marinette will trip down the stairs this morning, so she sets up the laundry basket to break her fall.
  • When Marinette sees a news report about a rampaging villain, she tries to use the "late for school" excuse before Sabine points out it is Saturday, so Marinette has to change her excuse to being late for a meeting with Alya.
  • Marinette buys Sabine a Mother's Day gift, even though she's more than a month late.

    Dearest Family
  • Tikki has a truly terrifying Death Glare. The other kwamis (sans Plagg) are comically frightened of it, huddling together for comfort.
  • The elders of the Dupain-Cheng family argue fervently about parenting Marinette...while they have galette on their faces.
  • Shadow Moth munching on a piece of the Dupain-Cheng's galette is funny in and of itself, but it gets funnier when you realize that in order to get a galette, Gabriel had to take a break from his supervillainous act of the day to send someone to buy the cake for him, have it delivered to his manor, and leave his lair (while controlling not one but four akumatized villains) to get the cake.
  • Plagg's reaction to seeing the giant galette in the sky is an exasperated, "oh no, Tikki found a delicious food again". Then he nonchalantly tells Adrien that when Tikki first tasted chocolate centuries ago, she liked it so much that she made it rain chocolate mousse for eight weeks.
  • Ladybug, overcome by Tikki's hunger, steals several galettes and start shoving entire slices down her throat. On top of that, she also has the dumbest grin on her face as she internally realizes what she just did (i.e: steal). She couldn't even stop chewing as Bakerix almost took her earrings off.
  • Seriously, the faces Ladybug makes when the cravings overtake her.

    Ephemeral
  • Bob Roth being utterly devastated, heartbroken and ending up akumatized because he lost a single coin. Granted he later reveals that it was his lucky coin but still.
  • For the third time this season, the Lucky Charm is a vehicle. Only now it's a massive fire truck! And not only does it nearly flatten Ladybug, but Vesperia and Ryuko also scream and have to run like hell to avoid getting squished.
  • Marinette learns that Adrien is Cat Noir. Now she sees Cat Noir in every picture of Adrien, much to her utter confusion.
  • After Shadow Moth gets Marinette's Miraculous, he effortlessly tosses her halfway across the room, causing Marinette to make an "eep" sound.

    Kuro Neko
  • Ladybug heads over to King Monkey to get his Miraculous back, only for her to realize what Cat Noir had just said to her, causing her to double back, just as King Monkey's powers give out. He had been clinging to the side of a chimney in a monkey-like pose, but even being the jock he is, Kim can't maintain that pose on his own, and struggles to hold on, wondering if he is allowed to move at least a little.
  • After Cat Noir renounces his Miraculous, Plagg tears into Ladybug for neglecting her partner... using cheese metaphors, which end up confusing the hell out of her.
    • Plagg uses cheese metaphors again when he's trying to coach Adrien through changing his cat-suit's appearance.
  • The Imagine Spot of Shadow Moth getting both the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculouses is a still image of the villain holding the whole world between his hands while laughing maniacally... which Marinette and Plagg shove out of the frame in order to continue their conversation. Thrice.
  • The Black Cat Miraculous is one of the two most powerful Miraculouses in existence and the trophy Shadow Moth so desperately seeks. Plagg, frustrated by Adrien's lack of response to his awesome plan, resorts to tossing it at Adrien's head in an attempt to get him out of his funk.
  • Plagg wears a miniature version of Ladybug's mask during the Costume-Test Montage.
  • When they're searching for a name for his new superhero identity, you can see some rejected ideas on the whiteboard behind Adrien. One of them was Noir Cat.
  • Cat Walker's complete and utter disgust when Ladybug thinks that Cat Noir might have at any point spat out a hairball like an actual cat.
  • Ladybug gets a crush on Cat Walker and is so distracted that she can't figure out how to use her Lucky Charm because her Ladybug vision keeps homing in on him. She even starts stammering, like she does around Adrien!
    • Cat Walker completes Ladybug's words when she starts stammering. And no, he still doesn't notice anything odd about that.

    Penalteam
  • Marc has to literally drag a reluctant Nathaniel to the soccer stadium while the latter wears the most bored/"done" expression on his face.
  • Inspired by Lila, Chloé gets the idea to claim that she can't play because she has an injured wrist. Unfortunately for her she clenches her thigh instead and doesn't convince anybody.
  • Marinette accidentally calls Chloé a handicap while trying to come up with a solution to get her to play. The latter's reaction is priceless as Marinette realizes what she said and changes her wording.
  • After Penalteam takes over the soccer field, Ladybug proudly declares that she and Cat Noir will be enough to take her down, while Cat Noir tries desperately to tell her something: that he does not actually know how to play soccer. Cue the Verbal Backspace as she heads off to recruit as many heroes as she can.
  • Didier Roustien stays as professional as he can in the circumstances, including calling all of Penalteam's clones "Penalteam" without hint of confusion.
Penalteam passes to Penalteam, who passes to Penalteam!
  • Adrien/Cat Noir's lack of knowledge of soccer gets him into trouble a few times. Most notably, he scores a own goal against Carapace, his own goalie, and starts cheering like he just saved the day.
    • Penalty's bewildered reaction makes it even better.
  • King Monkey uses his power against Penalteam, which (among other things) turns her and her clones' cleats into rubber ducks. Ladybug's plan was already to frustrate Penalteam into quitting, and this is her breaking point, as all the Penalteam clones start arguing while squeaky rubber duck sounds play over and over.
Penalteam: You're both ridiculous! Stop going quack-quack!
Penalteam Clone: You're the one who's going quack-quack!

    Risk
  • Mr. Ramier is extremely upset about benches with anti-pigeon spikes. If Shadow Moth didn't have other plans Paris would have faced the wrath of Mr. Pigeon once again.
  • Marinette's reaction when she learns that Adrien will leave Paris with Lila. She is losing it completely while Tikki watches her amusedly.
Marinette: (disgusted) Lila... representing... truth? Away with Adrien for weeks? It's the end of the world!
Tikki: Marinette, you've watched this 22 times already! You really need to get to school.
Marinette: Ah! School! [picks her bag and runs to the door] Today's Adrien's last day at school and I'm running late! [screams] (a few moments later) Ah! And I'm still in my pajamas! [comes back to her room; Tikki chuckles and nods]
  • When Marinette realizes that Lila is trapped on the bank she can't resist teasing her frustrated archenemy with a smug smile. Sometime later Lila gets her revenge by finding a way to ruin Marinette's confession and taunting her equally frustrated rival in the same way.
  • Félix manages to find out the password for Gabriel's safe. It is Hawk Moth wins this time.
  • Since he has been marked by Risk André the ice cream vendor doesn't fear Strike Back and even offers a personalized dessert to it.

    Strike Back

  • When Ladybug introduces Flairmidable to the rest of the team, Cat Noir is more than a little bit jealous when he sees how close their are. Ladybug's excitement that "Adrien" is the newest member of her team doesn´t help.
Ladybug: Oh, Cat Noir! Miraculous of the dog, Miraculous of the cat! Dog and cat! (laughs) Funny isn't it? (laughs)
    Cat Noir: (unamused) Hilarious.
  • Adrien's reaction —or rather, his deliberate lack thereof— when Ladybug drops into his room asks him to give her the Miraculous back. Him playing dumb —because Ladybug can't possibly be asking for the Cat Miraculous, right?— prevented The Unmasking right then and there. Too bad it all goes to hell in a handbasket from there.
  • Fridge funny, but as catastrophic as the final situation could be, it is important to remember that for his little speech, Hawk Moth had to wear the following simultaneously and in addition to his own brooch and head-covering mask: two goat-themed hair pins, a bee-themed hair comb, a pink pearl anklet, a tacky goth bracelet, a nose ring, a pair of sunglasses, and enough miscellaneous jewelry to make a rapper blush! Not to mention that, with so many Miraculous active, his supervillain outfit must have mutated into something quite baroque. Doubly funny knowing that Hawk Moth's civilian identity is a famous fashion designer.
    • Come Season 5, this description of how absurd Gabriel, an esteemed fashion designer, looks cannot be further from the truth.
